HTC just added an Arabic Keyboard to keyboards with selection between Arabic And Persian
previous firmware was 1.26.401.1 as i remembered hamdir.. now on 1.28.415.9
does it support arabic in text and email now?
Thanks for the news!
does it support arabic in text and email now?
the old version supported Arabic in browser but in text and email the letters were separate (not connected) and it was from left to right. Is this fixed now in both text and email?

but still not that bad hehe

Khaled,
here you are the update..
http://www.4shared.com/zip/qWricTy8/OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_ARA_.html
BUT
you have to check first if it works with your ROM or not i dont know maybe u can ask some one who knows.
backup your data first in case you are forced to make Factory data reset
if you don't know how to make the reset just ask

That's the way to switch between keyboards in ICS.
I still suffer from the WiFi Sleep Mode Bug!!
Can you confirm it is still there?
Problem in brief, as I encounter it before and after the update:
Enable Wi-Fi and connect to my WiFi router's access point.
Leave the phone to sleep, or lock it
after exactly 15 minutes, the wifi gets disconnected
The mobile data shoots in and connect
Mobile data disconnects
after 20 minutes, I wake phone up, and check status bar for no data connections at all
The mobile network then kicks in
The wifi awakes and kicks in, the Mobile data goes off making way for WiFi
The problem is, I get no data dependednt notifications while my phone is asleep: Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook, Emails ...etc

there's an option for the auto-disconnect (switch between WiFi networks or Mobile data when data transmission is weak) even if you select keeping your WiFi always on
did you check that?
hope this help!

Sure I did,
no go,
I did everything from enabling "Best WiFi Performance" to assigning a static IP to my phone.
Question was, did you encounter the issue on your phone?

The Arabic Keyboard is not an HTC original developed pack.
It has been outsourced and added to the FOTA rolling to the Middle East and Africa region (MEA) only.
Just like before on previous HTC Models.
The news on the OneX, is that it comes with Android 4.0 (ICS) out of the box.
ICS NATIVELY supports Arabic reading and encoding.
Before the FOTA has rolled to my phone, there was no Arabic keyboard.
I downloade a very decent, clean and ads free keyboard from PlayStore called GO-Key board...
It will do the trick I can assure you,
I find it more enhanced than the one included in the FOTA.
Hope this helps...
If I set my device language to Arabic then I cannot download anything from the market :S it seems that they changed the SD card destination to arabic also, so now it wont install anything from the market unless I revert it back to english :S

First of all I would apologies for my English if it's bad, and second I would apologies to if my description is not very clear I am trying to do my best on it but this is the first time I have done something like this.
Sms messages coming to late or not receiving at all.
Some of my messages are coming to late or not even coming at all, I got this problem since the march ROM update for Europe west, I have already gone to the provider store and they just sad the most simple, quick, and cheapest answer: It's your device....
The sms alert sometimes ONLY goes off when I get my mobile off the stand-bye. This is also very annoying since I don't watch ever 5 minutes on my mobile.
My location is not working anymore since 2-3 days ago.
I live in a small city which is not listed in the cities of the weather program. Cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam are working but my location is not anymore.
My device information: Standard touch pro 2, using Windows Mobile 6.5 newest updates from the HTC website Europese West, Netherlands.
Thank you!
I think the problem is that you're phone memory was not really 'clean' when you updated you're rom. What you need to do is whipe you're memory clean with task 29. And then try flashing you're rom again.
Did you install hard spl? Based on you're story I don't think you have. What I would do is install hard spl and then run task 29. Then put you're rom back on you're device and try if you're problems still occurs.
Hmmm...
I kinda have the same problem!
Since a couple of days the weather tab in TF3D which I've set to automatically update doesn't work anymore....
The strange thing is that it doesn't work for "My Location". When adding another city manually and I press "Update now" it works just fine!
"My Location" does also work when I connect my TP2 (WinMo 6.5) to my pc and press the "Update now" button....
Strange right? I've tried a lot of setting but no luck...
Even stranger: While updating the weather doesn't work for My Location (which is Eindhoven; some what a big city...) there's no problem with my connection or GPS as both of them works perfectly....
What's wrong? Can someone please advice why this stopped working suddenly!?
Info on my TP2:
Provider: KPN
WinMo: 6.5 Standard ROM....
Push Internet: Disabled
Same problem her, i instaled Co0kie.HomeTab_v1.7.1 and he has update my location for 1 time, and now same problem again.
I would try tomorow for a time.
But without Co0kie.HomeTab_v1.7.1 was the same problem.
soft reset, doesnt work, Hard reset i don;t know of that works.
Location: Netherlands
Rom: latest original rom from HTC
Sorry for the bad english!
Help, The netherlands are disappearing!
Anyway, same problem here! (HI Netherlands, Leeuwarden, nomore 'My Location)

Lenzy, the memory was clean, in the first month it didn't had any problems but now it's getting slower, and more harder to find solutions.
I now don't even receive about 1 on the 3 sms messages which is just annoying for the other person and me.
The weather update problem is still remaining.
But thanks for all the reply's
Edit: Also another question. What's 3G and can I disable it ? Everybody is saying that it is useless and sucking up your battery life.

You said that you upgrated you're software right? Then you're phone memory was not clean.
In my opnion the stock version really sucks Learn to flash and flash a decent rom on you're phone. The rom in my signature is the best one out there (in my opnion of course ) That will resolve all of you're bugs. Make sure you run task29 before flashing.
3G is you're internet connection. Just like hspda etc. You can disable it if you don't have a data plan.

Guys, that worked like a charm! Awesome... (Y)(Y)(Y) Been having this problem for months...
I'm using unbranded Desire with no mods/rooting, udgraded to the latest official Android 2.2 version.
Here are my problems:
1. People say that they couldn't reach me (number unavailable) while I was on the network all the time. Doesn't happen very often (or I just don't know that) but is really annoying when it does.
2. I am connected to my home WiFi but browser/other programs say that network connection is not available. I have to turn wifi off and on again for it to work. Can it have something to do with the "energy management" widget?
3. My phone is calling people. I get a callback from people saying I called them but they couldn't hear anything (phone was in my pocket). I was wondering if it wasn't the case when I am finishing a call and pressing the red button to end the call but someone on the other side hung up earlier and when I press, the "call" function is activated. However I remember 1 or 2 times when it was definetely not the case.
4. I desperately need a PDF reader that allows to continue reading a book in the place where I finished last time. At the moment I need to be very careful not to close the pdf reader app. When I do I need to look for the page, really annoying. This should be a free app (Google doesn't want my money, they don't allow people from my country into paid appstore )
Hello, 1&2 are really weird problems, they might be connected with the radio, can you check your radio version in settings\about\software\baseband. Some people had problems with the official OTA. Just to be sure - is your wifi alright on other devices and are you sure you have sufficient network coverage. If you download torrents with a crappy router you are likely to get problems. If you're in a low signal area it is possible to lose signal while your device is in your pocket e.g. closer to the ground, when you pick it up you see the bars, when it's in the pocket the network dies. One thing you can easily do is a factory reset , this way we'll find out if any software is causing the problem
3 - you might be turning your device on and then pressing the screen and then calling people, it is not unheard of . Ask them if they hear any noise like cars, people passing by and other stuff, if they do then that's the case
4 - search the market, there are a few, you'll need to try them to see which works best for you

If you only have a 2G connection, and are actively using data, all incoming calls will get diverted to voicemail because 2G only supports voice or data - not both at the same time. This is not an issue if you are in 3G coverage, when you can have simultaneous voice and data.
Note that this is a network side issue - 2G networks can be configured to prioritize voice over data, so that if a call comes through data is suspended, but as far as I'm aware most networks (in the UK at least) do not support this.
Regards,
Dave

I guess there is no point going to the store with a problem that cannot be reproduced :-/
Anyway I don't think it's something physical, I suppose software reset will fix everything.
I had that with Nokias, there was a main board problem (every now and then it said "invalid sim card"). Every time I sent it back to the manufacturer, it came back saying "software replaced, tested, everything ok".
Thanks for help anyway ;-)

Thanks Dave, actually my phone is set to automatically choose network type and I am using a widget to turn off mobile data since I have WiFi at home and only turn it on when I'm outdoors.
I heard that some phones cannot decide whether they should log into the 3G or 2G and that may be the issue. I have changed the settings to use only 3G, we'll see how it works.
BTW: Dave, is it London Ealing? I used to work in Ealing O'Neill's pub back in my student days :-D
Hi,
I am new and just installed Android ProjectAndroid2.2Froyo.112210 on my HTC Touch Pro 2 phone. Once I had the 3G connection with the Dutch KPN working but after a reboot of the phone, I can not manage to get it working again. Wifi and BT are ok except the 3G connection.
Did a 'to default reset' and tried several APN setting but none of them turn the 3G connection back to live.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advance,
Rick.
Does the cell radio function? In other words, can you make/receive calls/texts?
If yes, then the APN settings are a good thing to look at - also, do you have a 3g icon with up/down arrows next to the signal strength meter?
One other good question to ask - does your provider require a proxy to access the 'net?
Yes, I can call and recieve calls. Also sms messages are working fine.
The only thing which is missing is the G3 data connection icon and actually the datalink.
No, the provider does not need a proxy setting. As I wrote in my start, I had it working good but just after a reboot without any changes on the APN parameters, it didnt come back again.
Thanks for your reply Arrrghhh!

Hrm. May want to try with a new/fresh data.img. If you rename your existing data.img, a new one will be created during boot. See if it helps... unfortunately deleting that file has fixed so many odd issues, it's not even remotely funny.
Okay, I will give it a go when comming back from my trip next week.
I did remove all files a couple of times and re-installing the Android software but maybe not all data has been removed? At least it did not solve the problem.
By the way, could it be caused by having the system on the SD card rather than in the phone memory? And could it be related to the type of phone selected during boot time? I am using the HTC Touch Pro 2 and not selecting the Tilt-2 but the ?210 (forgot the name and the phone is off) due to the fact that the keyboard is wrong with the tilt-2 option.

Ehm, you can wipe your SD card all the times you want, but this won't solve anything if the APN is wrong or if your carrier requires user/pass, proxy or whatever else.
So first go check you actual APN configuration in WinMo, get a paper, copy it down piece by piece, then get back to Xdandroid and modify/create a new one, checking all the settings are properly set.
Have a nice trip.
@Wind,
your right but again, it has been working with a certain set of parameters but just after a reboot without any change on APN, the phone did not want to reconnect on 3G.
Thanks for your wishes. Will get back when I return.
do not use this version modules-2.6.27.46-01232-gb7033df.tar.gz , zImage-2.6.27.46-01232-gb7033df, change it.
@muziling,
I did update the phone with your advised release and re-started the phone again. No result. Due to low battery the phone went down and had to re-charge. When the battery was full again, turned on the phone and guess what, I had a 3G icon.
Just to be sure that it was not a lucky shot (but I was thinking it) I decided to reboot the phone again and ships.... the 3G icon did not show up again.
No change inwhatever parameter was made during the reboot session. This means that the 3G performance is intermittend and depeding on a certain condition which I do not know how to find. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
I have a similar problem. After a fresh install, the 3G connection works exactly the first time, I boot into android. After a reboot, the 3G connection mostly does not work. I cannot figure out, which conditions have to be met, to get 3G working. Its just pure luck to me.
btw, I have a german rhodium.
try this version, it works perfect on my rhod400

Hi all,
first of all I would like to say hallo to all members and thank everyone here for the continuous support provided, this site already helped me out a lot.
I've owned the SM-P605 for quite some time now, it's a really awesome tablet but one thing bugs me out completely ... I use a multi-sim and everytime I get a call on my normal phone I have a missed call on my tablet ...
I would really like to disable the phone function completely ... can anyone direct me to a mod or a rom, which lets me disable the phone function?
I know that for the N8000 there is a mod which let's you disable the phone ... but I've been searching for days now for the SM-P605 ...
Rooting, flashing, etc. is not a problem, done it a lot with various phones ...
I'm fine with anything, prefered would be either a mod or a ROM which has the stock Samsung interface and functions and the support to disable phone support.
I get over 50 calls a day so this is really annoying ... I'm really desperate ... and I really don't want to get another SIM for €30,- per month just to get rid of the phone function :/
Please help

So...there is no problem at all..! you can easily put your tablet in airplane mode and then open the WiFi at no cost !
in that way you won't get those annoying calls plus you will be connected to the internet!

There is rarely a wifi I can connect to though, basically only at home (which is only about 5% of tablet use) ... means I need to use mobile data, which goes with enabling cellular network, which goes with receiving phone calls :/
Buuut I just found out about "Stocky Rom", seems like you can disable the phone with that one plus it has all stock rom features! Looks like exactly what I've been looking for ... I'll give it a shot (guess the dev was in the same situation I was lol)
If wished I can report if it worked ... I'm still open for other ideas though, in case the new rom won't do.
If anything fails I guess I could still open a hotspot on my phone, put the tablet in airplane mode, enable wifi and connect through my phone, that might even work x.X
Never checked if the hotspot still works while on a call, I'll have a look at that.
I wished there was just a switch in the stock ROM, German forums are full of people with the same problem ... the provider only says "sorry out of luck, purchase a second card with data plan only" (of course) and the other users either never found a solution or didn't post it.

That's actually worth a try ... but I always thought it "rejects" the incoming calls, meaning they won't get through on my phone either?
I'll give it a shot and report back.
Hi, I got my Butterfly 3 yesterday.
It had an old tampered (without "au" stuff) KDDI ROM that wouldn't update so I flashed to a more recent one, rooted, flashed the GPS fix and disabled/uninstalled all the "au" stuff. The phone is now working great except for a few things that are very annoying, and I'd like to know if the Taiwan version doesn't have the same problems:
1 - Can't seem to find a way to select 2G, 3G or 4G mode. My previous One M7 had that option under "mobile data". Here it's completely gone (what the hell? it's the first phone I've ever seen without this..).
This is especially bad because I can't seem to be able to enable LTE (the phone's bands are supported in my country). Since I can't try to force "4G only" in the phone, there's no way to know if there's a problem with my APN configuratin (which I had to input manually.. for the first time ever on a smartphone), if there's a problem with the antenna, or if my SIM card simply doesn't have 4G enabled. Does the Taiwan version have the "force 4G" option?
2 - I've added the country code to almost all my contacts (+351) in order to be able to call them whenever I was abroad. The phone won't detect any contact that has a "+" in the number, so the person's name doesn't appear. Same thing with SMS: if there's a "+" in the number, I can't reply to the sms or send new ones. Is there a way to overcome this with the KDDI ROM? Does the Taiwan ROM have this problem too?
I'm split between "upgrading" to the Taiwan Marshmallow or keeping the KDDI one.
To be honest, I'd rather stay with Lollypop if it means getting usable NFC. On the other hand, if the Taiwan ROM fixes the problems mentioned above then I'll say goodbye to NFC.
I fixed it by having two numbers on one person. So you got the number with the country code(+...) and the number without country code(for me: 06....).
As for the problem with the settings, I can't find it either :/
Maybe the option is just hidden away, but I never use mobile data.

I'm in the states , but calling both and texts has been fine. (I had a damaged SIM couldn't send texts)
If you really want japan's au bloat that even with a pro root uninstaller still leaves grime just to keep NFC, I have a solution for you to get data.
P.S.You need root for any real fixes like this one
use es file explorer and turn on root read write permissions, it'll ask when you use the left side panel to access system directory.
Use search to find apn-config.xml
Replace file with one from cyanogenmod rom or any phone you have.
Data should now work. To fix SMS uninstall it, clear out its folder and install any HTC text messaging app and place apk in folder. (then clear cache)
Also, update as much as possible before rooting, b/c its a bootloader unlock and this phone has not bootloader update with marshmallow you can always root with twrp.
Private message me with any questions I'll respond asap. I'm no developer (despite my attempts linux hates me), but I know my way around the average android device and have kept up with everything for this one.
(Taiwan has no gps issues, uninstallable bloatware, nor apn/4g problems)

Are you absolutely sure that uninstalling sms.apk and clean the cache solved the problem for you. I tried that long time but didn't work for me. Which APK did you uninstall ? providers.apk, sms.apk or mms.apk ?
I don't have GPS, 4G issues on Japan version, the only problem is SMS "+" resolution.
