How do I change s-on to s-off? - HTC One X

I have had my one x for a week now rooted and unlocked via htd.dev just wondering if I can change my s-on to s-off?

There's no way off getting s-off just yet unless I'm mistaken

If you have to ask that question then there is no possible reason why you need S-Off. You already have root access and can flash custom roms - what else are you wanting to do?

S-off

What is the disadvantage having s-on. If we can still root what is the problem. Why exactly do we need s-off

It give us unlimited permission to modify the system partition etc. changing Boot screen etc.
There is a detailed thread that's right at top of the general forum that covers this in depth.

It also allows direct access to all partitions on the phone so we can learn a lot more about it. Will be able to flash boot.img via recovery with the rom (no need for fastboot flash), we can flash modified hboot/bootloader if we wish to as well. Plenty of possibilities.
None of this is possible with s-on, even if you are htcdev unlocked.

Um do you want to keep S-OFF or do you want S-ON? And do you want to root it or do a completely unroot?
Edit: you can root it with superoneclick if you already S-OFF.

go to boot loader and find out if it is s-off or not. depending on what you find, and what unlock method you used, go to that unlock thread, and relock it again.
I used ahhk and yes it is s off I want to s on

You can't 'break a cid'. Its just an identifier. What do you mean by break?

My cid was unreadable through adb, fastboot and cid getter it kept saying cid none

Help with HTC S Off

I did everything right and now I'm stuck with Rooted and Unlocked Bootloader but I can't turn S off I want to install customs ROMs. Ugh. I do the Firewater method. It works fine up until last step a ns tell me sorry you will never be able to unlock me

As far as I'm aware, not everyone's M8 has had success with S-Off, yet. I'm sorry to say, you may be one of the unlucky ones for now. Hopefully something comes along that will work for everyone.
I would just add that you don't need s-off to use custom Rom. Just go and flash away.?
