Question is the HTC bootloader unlock still breaking cid ? If it is is there any way to fix cid and what disadvantages do you have with a broken cid?

What do you mean? It doesn't break your CID.

My last hox before I replaced it the HTC bootloader unlock broke my cid

You can't 'break a cid'. Its just an identifier. What do you mean by break?

My cid was unreadable through adb, fastboot and cid getter it kept saying cid none

I have had my one x for a week now rooted and unlocked via htd.dev just wondering if I can change my s-on to s-off?

If you have to ask that question then there is no possible reason why you need S-Off. You already have root access and can flash custom roms - what else are you wanting to do?
Hi guys,
I have an HTC one X device from Three UK. I am running the Three custom rom. Can I flash a stock rom instead to recieve the OTA update to JB?
My CID is H3G__001
Thanks
Afraid not, without s-off we can't change our cid

No .....
It seems this question has not been answered.
I am trying to install the following ROM for my HTC One X http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...4#post36407155, but it says I need Hboot 1.3 or better.
Well I have 1.14 and the only way to upgrade is to have your CID be HTC_101 or something like that. Mine is 11111111, which is what it should be after I unlocked the bootloader. How do I change it back to HTC_101 or whatever came with my phone?
I can only access the fastboot screen since when I previously tried to install the ROM it didnt work and my phone gets stuck at the white HTC screen and keeps rebooting.
My version is 2.20.502.7. And I can still load into Team Win Recovery v2.4.1.0 if that hepls
Thanks
Are you sure you have the international One X version? Haven't seen this hboot version before.

I have the ATT version
Then you are in the wrong forum. Go to the ATT forum. The Roms there will boot up and it seems like you have s-off?

Funny thing. I posted this at the ATT HTC forums and they told me that I was in the wrong forums. They told me to go to the HTC One X
He don't have a clue what he is talking about
He has a att phone and is trying to install quad core roms... I'm just waiting for the my phone is bricked thread he will probably post soon

You are definitely wrong here! You have the dual-core version. None of the Roms from here will boot on your device. Since you probably have s-off i suppose you can easily upgrade your hboot. But you need to ask that in the ATT forum

We were trying to help him there but refuses to listen. Just ranted how there are att roms that won't run on the att version lol they all work as long as you have correct hardware.
Att has 3 hboots 1.09, 1.14, and 2.14 (latest for jb update)

Super cid just lets you unlock on htcdev.com att has their cid blocked there, hense the change of cid to super. You can only flash hboots that are for your device, not just any one.

No we asked what device you had... U were trying to install a international Rom.. save yourself a few hundred dollars and just leave the phone alone. You have no way read enough on this to be trying to pull this off.. better yet just get a iPhone

Interesting, exactly the reason why it needs to be asked in correct device thread. And I absolutely didn't mean 'any' hboot, just any hboot for your device. Cheers

Some people have jobs mate
And no you don't need root, you need an unlocked bootloader. But that's up to yourself to decide if you want that.
Once unlocked you can flash everything !
Thank 4 for the replay
I will wait because of my warranty
