Either:
a)you didn't look at all on this topic
b)you looked hard but couldn't find stickied guide on how to do it in this very forum poking in your eyes.
I'd recommend you enlist yourself for account removal because you don't seem to know how to handle wealth of info in these forums.

If I do what you said, will it root my phone? Hahaha. Lol

What will you do to root if your HBOOT version is 0.93.0001?

I did it 2 days ago, followed the instructions properly, but when I type the beta key it always show "invalid beta key... aborting" even though I have the correct serial. Help
Anyway, thanks for answering properly.

so I don't write everything
After I S-off the phone, I used Unrevoked to root and get Super User
if it doesn't help, google your Kernel version (Settings>About phone>Software information>Kernel Version), how to root and s-off

MetaMorph makes HTC Desire reboot?

I've installed Metamorph from the market but every time i start it up and do the checks it makes my phone reboot, i am clueless to what the problem could be.
I am rooted and using OpenDesire v1.3b ROM if that helps.
At the Moment system write is only possible in recovery, but for metamorph you need write access in Android.

I don't have a clue what you're on about tbh, I'm a newbie so bare with me
Shall i uninstall it?
Metamorph need access to /system files to write to those files. It needs this while your phone is switched on and working as normal.
The Desire only allows write access to those files while it is in recovery mode. So MetaMorph will not work.

i can't root htc desire... i use unrevoked and it stuck on the end... error: failed to get root. is your firmware too new? ????? whaaaattt???
Use revolutionary instead. It would be easier, plus you s-off in one turn. Look at bortak's guide if you need help in using it.

HTC dev unlock tool

Has anyone unlocked their dinc2 using the HTC dev tool? From the website I select my device the incredible 2 Verizon and click begin to unlock in green but now what am I missing something because I see no where else to go.
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda app-developers app
Well you can just stay unlocked flash a recovery and then require root by flashing it through recovery or android market or you can try to gain s- off with taco root in one of the threads here somewhere which where you can follow I would totally recommend getting S-Off tho
Sent From My Goonified Kangdemnation Droid Incredible 2
I used it yesterday to successfully unlock my bootloader. Read every step word for word (twice) and don't skip anything.
I cant succeed at taco root and when I go to HTC unlock bootloader page I don't see where the process actual is like I said I select device and click the unlock bootloader highlighted in green but now what do I do?

Why are you using taco root? That tool is for downgrading to s-off. For that to work, You need to re-lock bootloader and follow the instructions to s-off. Having a unlocked bootloader will cause errors. htcdev is something pretty useless because we have s-off, just my opinion.
My software is up to date so no root or s-off methods work I read taco root will work but I myself am not talented enough apparently to do this. All the one click methods including a one click downgrade method does not work (vivow hack). So I assumed HTC tool would get me to at least be able to flash a custom Rom. Does anyone have any suggestions to make me a happier dinc2 owner?

I know this sounds sketchy, but if you want to pay for shipping, send it to my place I'll do the tacoroot method for you and send it back. PM me if you're interested, I figured I'd throw it out there.

You could try using teamviewer (think that's what its called) to remote access his computer an walk gin through it. Might be faster.

After you click the green button that says "Begin Unlock Bootloader", there is a popup. If you're not getting that, maybe your browser is blocking popups? Maybe you can temporarily disable that?

Totally Agree +1
Again, I think we need a PSA against using HTCdev unlock. Causing a lot of problems for many, especially for the vivow,

I don't know what guides you followed but get used to reading the stickies that is where the useful information is located:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168500
If you already unlocked the bootloader, then just flash a custom recovery and then Superuser.
Rooted now. How can I s-off ontop of root.

That is the only way to gain S-OFF right now. Why you need S-OFF btw?
No reason really, fastbooting the .img I'm simple. But s-off makes it a little easier

One thing I've noticed is that ky recovery does NOT restore backups. Md5 mismatch. Would this be a ad card problem or recovery its self. Tried flashing 4ext but needed s-off

Na I didnt, I felt it is no point when there is work around for everything you want to do. HOwever, if you wanted to S-OFF your phone, just follow the instructions given for HTC one, it might work for the HTC desire 816 too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2632351

Out of curiosity, I tried few minutes ago and failed. Below is the error message I got "device patched by HTC, you are out of luck". It could be because of mobile version or something else. Fortunately, my device was not corrupted and I am happy about it
