MetaMorph makes HTC Desire reboot? - Desire General

I've installed Metamorph from the market but every time i start it up and do the checks it makes my phone reboot, i am clueless to what the problem could be.
I am rooted and using OpenDesire v1.3b ROM if that helps.

At the Moment system write is only possible in recovery, but for metamorph you need write access in Android.

I don't have a clue what you're on about tbh, I'm a newbie so bare with me
Shall i uninstall it?

Metamorph need access to /system files to write to those files. It needs this while your phone is switched on and working as normal.
The Desire only allows write access to those files while it is in recovery mode. So MetaMorph will not work.

[Q] can't mount sdcard in recovery after running unrevoked

Hi all.. I've got a horrible feeling this has probably been addressed before - but after doing some searching and finding what I think may be answers, I'm still unsure.
I've run Unrevoked to root my Desire.
Now - recovery mode will not mount the SD card.
The phone will mount the ext partition on my sd card.. (Android 2.2, stock HTC Desire).
I'm running Ubuntu.. has anyone got a quick fix method? The phone appears to be charging.
The partition order might be wrong. FAT, then ext is how it should be

[Q] Goldcard?

Hello just one question, I have rooted my desire with unrevoked and using a custom from LeeDroid, all working great only thing is if I wanted to get my phone back to stock Ruu, do I need a goldcard and can I create a goldcard even now that I have rooted and using a custom rom?

superb just reading up on it now, unrooting not that I want to just in case.
What was your original rom? If there's one on shipped roms from your provider, you may not need a gold card.
Have you got the original roms details?

Yes I have already downloaded the original one
RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed
done that befor I even started rooting with it being signed that mean I dont need goldcard I hope so
If that's the same rom that was originally on it, then you wont need a goldcard
You could still create one tho! now you've been reading up. It wont do any harm at all.

[ROM]Glacier_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.19.531.1_Radio_12.58 .60.25_26.11.04.03_M_release

Here TMOUS Glacier Gingerbread ROM
http://www.filefactory.com/file/cc6...60.25_26.11.04.03_M_release_200756_signed.zip
Enjoy!
seems like this wouldn't be safe to flash since i'd bet you would loose root. but looks like a new radio as well? any insight?
DO NOT FLASH!!!
until this has been tested by a dev. There is a good(99.9%) chance that you will lose root with this.

Thanks Football
WHAT IS SO Different IN THIS ONE for the old one
A new tmo radio would be great if it boosts their crappy signal
i am going to give it a try to compile...we will see how successful i am (i am a newbie dev)
Is this ROM has ROOT access???
unfortunatly i cant get the system to extract properly....guess it might be time for a more seasoned dev to take a shot at it
edit: nevermind...got it
Thanks Football
any screenies for this?

password on clockwork recovery

How do i put a password or lock on recovery so someone cant get in and wipe data without my authorization....
Unless the app was written to allow password(which it isn't) it won't work.
Why would someone want to get into your phone and wipe data??
Just use screenlock so no one but you can access your phone

Just make a nandroid backup and save the image on your computer instead of SD card.
its becuz my friends android was stolen and he had a tra king on it but the thief wiped the fone so the locater app desapeared...I have that app and I don't want that to happen to me

Yea what app is it, I use cerberus and it is about the only option it doesn't allow. Also a password is a great way to prevent this anyway this coups be added? I use 4ext recovery this sounds like a great idea for the next version
actually cerberus has a flashable zip for rooted phones. go to there website and look under FAQs, download it then flash it via 4ext or cwm and viola its stuck in the system

Right they should put the option of making a password on recovery 4ext it'd be nice to know one can't wipe all of ur data if ur phone is lost or stolen that ur tracking app can't be wiped out

Very valid point about the wiping everything off the phone. Got me to thinking so I popped over to the 4EXT thread and asked about a password option. We'll see what madmaxx has to say.
Edit-->so he got right back and asked why since whoever would still havee access to the bootloader anyway... :/

well if you were that paranoid about it, you could chuck a ship hboot in there, so that they can't flash a new recovery. use misc_version to set your main version to over 9000, so that no one can flash a stock rom. set S-On once you have a custom rom set up how you like, etc.

That's your problem. Either stop using it or learn how it works. You are out of memory on one of the partitions, either ext4 or hboot. Solution is to change hboot.
