dear all,
i had a working version of cyanogenmod 7.2 on my gio. I had problems with my home button, so i wanted to try a stock rom again (2.3.3 Dutch version for samfirmware). I flashed it using Odin.
now the phone does not work and it tries to restart all the time.
things i already did
1. tried to get back to Cyanogenmod via recovery. i can do the setup but i get stuck on the samsung logo
2. factory reset, cache whipe
3.flashed to stock with odin again. it sais pass in odin, but no success
4. tried a guide from mobilecon called how to unbrick a galaxy gio
i don't know what els to do. I can get in to recovery and download mode
please help this poor girl out...
Are you sure you didnt forgot a step in odin, like the .ops file??
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
no, I did not forget that step. flashed my phone before, know how it works in a normal situation.
Download other firmware, you dont necceserily need dutch firmware, 2.3.6 is much faster, and has dutch language

Now follow these:
wipe/cache wipe/data(factory reset)
Before and after flashing, with STOCK recovery.
(of course flash the ROM!)
That happened to me when I flashed cm9 then reverted to stock and got a bootloop don't lose hope!!
Inviato dal mio GT-S5660 con XDA PREMIUM
it worked
I combined the Advises of the last two posts and flashed with android 2.3.6 and did the factory reset again. my phone is working!!!
thank you so much for your help. I was quite desperate after trying to revive my phone the whole afternoon.

Nice you fixed it that way.

Hey guys i am completely stumped.
I tried flashing the aristodemos rom into my phone and ever since then i cant get past the logo screen.
I was running the paranoidandroid rom through the AOSP JB kt474 kernel before i flashed the aristodemos rom.
Since then i have tried flashing the stock kernel and the stock pre-rooted Rogers rom with no luck.
My last shot at it was downloading the Official stock firmware of the sgh-i747m for rogers from the samsung-updates website.
Can someone please help me out here i have tried to hold back and not start my own thread and just look around in the forums but i cant seem to find any solution.
So, if you have any idea on how i can get my phone back up and running please help!
Can you get into recovery mode or not?

Download cm10 and the gaaps and flash them in that order in your recovery. Your phone should work afterwards. Makes sure you clear cache /dev before flash.

Hmm maybe you can try to reflash the stock ROM and then flash JBv3 via stock recovery. Many times CWM will give you a problem if your data isn't mounting. Just flash via stock recovery and you'll be fine.

I think he meant to try reflashing a stock rom in odin again, then try flashing JellyBlast again. Reflashing a stock rom always works, at least for me, despite it being a tedious process.

i'd suggest flashing CWM again and see if you still have that issue first.
Thankyou...

I flashed cwm again but still the same problem. But now somehow i managed to install cyanogen mod and then performed the data wipe. It worked now. Thankyou for your reply

PLEASE DO NOT BE ANNOYING AND COMPLAIN ABOUT THE QUESTION EVEN IF THERES A SIMILAR QUESTION THAT DOESNT MEAN IT HAS THE SAME ANSWER OR WHERE THE THREAD IS OR WHATEVER! im only in need of someone that wants to help but basically i tried to unlock my galaxy note 2 but i had to downgrade the firmware to do so cuz its not possible with 4.1.2 and i downloaded the files and followed instructions to a t from cellunlocker and after using the odin my phone is just stuck on the samsung logo screen.. my phone wasnt rooted yet and there is no way to get recovery or to do factory data reset or anything, i kept trying to install drivers nothing . I did that before. Press home + volume up + power that will put u in stock recovery, from there you should be able to factory reset wipe data. Before you downgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.1.1 you needed to full wipe because the factory image in Odin will just flash on top
scyr2355 got it...
your device is dirty...as you pushed images on top of each other. and this leaves old data behind.
the boot to stock recovery and a cache wipe with a factory reset should bring the phone back to life.....g
You could have just downgraded the radio and the secret menu is there again with the options to unlock... Hope this works out for you
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda premium
Home+Vol Up+Power will put you into stock recovery as stated previously. You will need to use odin. Make sure drivers are installed on your computer and use a stock Image. Of course you must reset everything. I bricked my phone in similar fashion when I first started flashing. Now I flash all the time without issue. I recommend TWRP. A simple search will get you all the info you need.

Just spent five hours tonight trying to fix the same problem. I have a couple questions for you.
1. Which version of ODIN are you using. I recommend using the 3.07 version because it officially supports downloading the ATT I-317 firmware to your handset.
2. Are you using an official stock ROM? Or one that has been tampered with, De-OXED and/or injected with a root. If so, I would also recommend using a stock tar.md5 ROM from the Samsung-Updates or SamMobile websites.
On an unrelated note, I'm originally from Warwick
PLEASE HELP!!!
I did the same thing. I tried to downgrade to 4.1.1 to unlock a customers device and now im stuck on the Samsung logo.... Ive never had a problem like this before and like I said this is a customers Note 2 and I really dont have the $$ to replace his device.... I tried to get to stock recovery and It wont go.... it just keeps looping the Note 2 logo.... what can I do.... Im SUPER scared.... ive rooted many many devices but only 1 downgrade and this never happened.... everything passed on Odin?? PLEASE HELP ME??

LOL, I'm a dirty boy. I got caught flashing dirty. After all these (5) years of flashing I forgot to wipe / format.
Even some of the "seasoned," meddlers / flashers have one of those moments where they forget to wipe.

Hi
My galaxy note 2 is stuck on the boot screen Samsung galaxy note 2 gt n7100.
I had tried 11 times flashing a recovery (cwm and twrp) onto the device, but every time when it rebooted after flashing with odin i could see some light brown lines flickering fast on the screen and then it would boot into my stock android system. Then i downloaded goomanager and could from there boot into recovery then i got into a cwm recovery. So i installed a custom rom (slimbean) and now i tried again to flash a cwm onto the device hoping it would work normally but now i am stuck on the galaxy boot screen.
I can get into the stockk android recovery when pushing power, home and vol down.
What should i do?
I tried several times flashing different recvories, and got into the philz touch one once, and then im back at where i started, it seems like it wont let me get into a custom recovery mode.
Can my phone be locked in any way?? Since every time i try to flash a custom recovery and then enter it but pressing the buttons it just puts me back to the stock recovery.
When you get into the Recovery Mode, do a format/clean cache
I have now managed to install cm 10.1 and gapps, now my problem is i dont get any cell signal and there is an error when searching for carriers.
My IMEI is unknown which i think might be a problem but what should i do?
I have no idea what to do mow, can someone please pointm e in the right direction?

I did this with a hex editor on my zte blade and then flashed the file to my phone and it worked but there is no such solution for the n7100?
Before you wipe and erase everything, try to figure out what's causing the overlook. ADB logcat and log files can help.
