com.android.phone stops responding with Elisa SIM - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have a strange issue. With SIM from Finnish operator Elisa, com.android.phone crashes once always after rebooting the phone. Trying with SIM from other operator (DNA in this case) doesn't give that error.
Phone works fine after the crash message. I've tried with stock ROM 4.0.2, 4.0.4, and also with few custom ROMs.
The stock ROMs I've tried with have been with locked bootloader and everything being reset to stock. Also I've tried with different radios. Only with non-Elisa SIM the error doesn't appear.
Anyone run into this? Should I take this to Elisa, Google or Samsung?

Have you tried a different SIM from Elisa? Maybe the one you have is faulty.

No I haven't. Will need to find someone with Elisa SIM.

Any update on this one? Did you get another SIM?
I'm having the same issue with Elisa SIM. Tried 3 different stock ROMs on my Galaxy Nexus.

Same SIM still, but looks like issue doesn't exist anymore on 4.2.

Maybe bad connection on your sim card?
Try removing the SIM card and put it back in, and then boot the phone.

done that, doesn't help
Im getting hte same issue. The 4.0.2 update came through, rebooted the phone. SIM not found, press to reboot....
Rebooted, SIM still not working. remove SIM and replace. Still not working. replaced with another SIM. Still not working.
Was working fine prior to the 4.0.2 update. This is on a 1 month old phone that has never been rooted. It is still as stock as it comes out of the box... And i want to test it more before i start boxing it up to send it back...
Have you tried leaving the battery out for a bit, then trying powering it up again?
Here is where it gets weird. I tried 2 other sim cards as well as my own. none of them worked. put my sim card back in and tried again, still not working. turned it off over night. went to Vodafone and asked if i could try a new SIM in the phone. still not working. put my TPG/Optus sim in and it started working. got a new SIM from Voda, transfered all the account info to the new card, waited an hour and tried it again and now it works :/
Dont know what caused it to stop working and dont know what caused it to start working again :/ im going to throw the word "Vodafone" in there as the cause because people will just nod their head and say... "yep, that was probably it..."
I have the same issue with AT&T....the phone does recognize the SIM, APN and all...but no signal. Just once in a while it gets registered on teh network, but for one minute or so...I don't know what to do
Same issue here, after a reboot my phone does not recognize my sim at all. no signal at all. tried a different sim, nothing, bought a new sim but nothing again, returned to stock, everything, but still nothing....no remedy yet....

Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped

HI,
I'm having this error message on boot and I can't find a solution. Every search I've made for this error comes up empty. The final solution being restore to factory. After doing that and trying to reinstall the rom I get the same error. Phone FC and i don't get time synched from the network anymore.
I'm not using TB. I'm not restoring any data. This is on a fresh clean install of the rom.
Any ideas? I need help!
What did you flash in terms or rom, mods, themes, and how did you flash?

I flashed the new Darkside rom with the TMO base. I'm starting to think that the new base is conflicting with my sim card... I'm not sure what to do about it... I'm with Virgin Mobile in Canada if that makes any difference...
No mods and no themes. Its just on first boot. Any other base seems to work fine. But since the TMO base I get that FC.
Could be a bad download, unlikely but if you haven't tried yet re-download the ROM
I've redownloaded multiple times and checked the md5... so the dl itself is fine... the install is fine... but once it connects to the network com.android.phone force closes... Do you know how to reset the network settings on the sim card itself?
process com.android phone has stopped
Hi,
My HTC One XL from Rogers is doing this when the address book syncs in the car. I have it de-bloated, rooted, and unlocked boot loader. My problem is that nothing seems to have changed. The phone works (Bluetooth )in the car until the address book is synched (or so it seems), then it cuts out. What to do?
Same problem with my ROM. I am using Reliance GSM in India. I tried with Vodafone & Airtel SIM and the phone works perfectly normal. Tried with my Dad's Reliance GSM and the problem is back. Dunno what the problem is exactly. Other ROMs work perfectly fine with Reliance in my cell. Problem is only with this one ROM. Incase you stumble upon a solution, pl do let me know as well.
My Original ROM with the same error
Hello everyone
My phone is Samsung S3, with original software, it asked me to update the system and i agreed after that i found it add some information such as it;s from United Emirates but i live in kuwait, and now i have the same error only when i try to make international call.
please any help without reset the phone?!!!
On some ROMs, they say it has something to do with the DPI
I've encountered this problem on AOKP 07/09 Milestone 6, and from searching in the forums, all I could gather is that it has something to do with my DPI settings.
On 07/05 it was okay, I just don't get it why flashing to 07/09 made this error appear.
UPDATE Now I discovered that turning the phone into Airplane mode removes this error. But then if you deactivate airplane mode again it comes back.

HELP! - LS990 GSM fail randomly

My previous LS990 worked charm with GSM networks. But recently purchased LS990 shows signal for like first minutes, then shows "Insert valid sim and reboot" message. hen reboots itself. after that sim is not recognised. The sim works fine on other phones. and tried many sims on this LS990, all failed.
Flashed KK, LP, MM stock with GSM unlock files, Fulmics rom, cloudy and AOSP. Fulmics seems to cath signals bit longer than other OSs, but it fails too.
Is this related to some hardware issue? but the thing is phone catches GSM signals flawlessly before above mentioned "Invalid sim" message. after that No sim is detectable.
Can anyone help me to fix it please? I would do a help to help. Donation :highfive:

You can try to flash modem only. Once i messed up some settings on the phone trying to unlock LTE bands and after that my signal was coming and going whole time, but no "Insert valid sim" message appeared. just on off. I have flashed ZVC modem from recovery and it worked fine. make backup of everything just in case and flash it.

Verizon Note 4 - refusing to use (non-Verizon) SIM card

I purchased a Verizon Note 4 N910V.05 off eBay.
When I got it, it had a custom ROM (didn't mention Verizon anywhere except for the logo on the back) and it worked fine with whatever SIM card I threw at it. At that time it was running Android 4.X
With time my phone started to get laggy and buggy, so I decided to reset to factory, and while I was at it, I decided to update to the most current official android version available to the phone: Android 6.0.1
Now, the phone won't use SIM cards I put it in it. It demands a Verizon one.
I read somewhere that I could just put one in, remove it, and then the phone should work fine with different carrier's SIM card. I tried but that didn't resolve my issue.
I also tried downgrading to previous android versions, hoping to root or do something -but no joy.
The phone shows the 4G notification and it receives (but not send) text messages -it doesn't send or receive phone calls -or data. I know the hardware is capable, because up until I updated to Android 6.0.1, it was working.
Does anyone know of a tried and true solution to getting this phone working again? Should I be trying to install a different ROM that's not for Verizon? Should I be trying to do something else? I'd really like to get my phone working again.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Sim not detecting

Hello Guys
With unlocked bootloader, I have been to China and used local sim over there.
Now I am back to India and none of Indian SIM cards are getting detected by phone.
I tried all possible options, did reset..downgraded to Oreo also..but no luck. What ever sim card I try, it's not getting detected.
In device info, it's showing mobile radio is off, tried switching on several times..but no luck.
Can someone pls help me ASAP.
Regards
Pavan
Try resetting network settings or hard reset the device and also try flashing factory image if previous doesn't work.
If your bootloader is locked then try reaching customer support. Else, you can try restoring some efs/modem backup using twrp.
Do you get any notification when you insert the sim tray?
I may be wrong just sharing my 2 cents.
Same problem here (or similar, at least).
My 5z recognized the SIM card on both slots, but no signal.
Tried all of the four carriers from Brazil, tried a hard reset, tried the Android Q beta, switched back to Pie, nothing works.
BTW, I've seen three devices with similar problems recently. One Samsung, and two Motorolas. All of them was updated to Pie. Could be some update bug?
My problem was fixed after the May update that was released a few days ago.
Everything working fine, 4G, LTE, etc.
