Cyanogen / GioPRO - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

I have one question. Now I'm using GioPRO v1.6. I'm thinking about flashing cyanogen 7.2 nightly. But things I worry about are: If cyanogen will have good google sync and battery performance?
Is there anyone who tried them both?
Can you tell me advantages and disadvantages of theses ROMs?
For GioPRO is not problem to be alive 2 days (with average uses).

Can't say anything about GioPRO, but yesterday I flashed the CM7.2 Nightly. My phone discharged over a night, but I suppose it was because of 3G online over WiFi hotspot tethered all the time. Although nobody was using hotspot... Before I had CM7.2 with KANG kernel, and it was working perfectly. I just have to admit I didn't try to leave then the phone (Kang kernel) with all these networks on for a night Today I'll try to leave the phone with all networks (except GSM) turned off and watch battery percentage after that

They are both great, but i choosed for cm 7.2 by phiexz, because it didn't look like the origional gio rom and the theme chooser app is magnificent!

What about battery life? Now with GioPRO it can be alive for 2 days. (average uses).

I can live the same with cyanogen. 2-3 days with average use.

GioPro usually lasts longer to me than CM7, but I like CM7 more

For me battery last very long, longer than giopro

Henry's one. I used his old one (the one build before current). It had no issues and worked great.

I think MIUI v4 is the best, and the battery life is not so bad (MIUI roms' battery life is always a bit worse than other roms').
I tried the SnapSeries one too, and the battery life was very bad there, it just drained my battery (my phone almost discharged during the night from 100% battery, and I had no wifi or anything turned ot). But probably it's been fixed already, and then it's worth a try.
And although it's just a beta, you should also try the JB based MIUI 2.10...

I'm using too MIUI v4 and battery life is good. Only for gaming eat faster battery ;/ . I think it's good .
I really didn't have battery issues with any miui build. I prefer snap series but only because in Henry's the status bar says "roaming indicator on"

Need a serious suggestion about the best rom in term of Battery life.
I've tried various roms such as minicm9, cm7.2, kwbr, Normal cm9, ligux cm9 and parandroid but still can't figure out which has less battery drainage.
I really like ligux coz its smooth and fast but it's battery doesn't even lasts a day. What should i do ?
Or any script which can help?

Doesnt the battery life depend upon the kernel? I mean there is no need to flash a new rom you can just flash a new kernel
Whoa !!
Never heard of this before. I've never flashed a new kernel really. Infact i don't even overclock my phone.

Setcpu on jellybean?

I used Setcpu on ics to help me save a bit of battery life. I have just installed it again on Renovate Rom which is jellybean and i can't seem to get it to work. I set the max cpu to 1200 but it keeps running at up to 1500.
Does Setcpu not work on jellybean one x?

There aren't custom kernel for JB because htc don't release it yet.
And, setcpu don't working because you don't have custom kernel

Horrible multi tasking and overall lag.

Hello people,
I have my GNexus about a year now and I never experienced such bad multi tasking and overall lag. I run AOKP with Franco kernel. I did a clean install a few days ago, normally I just dirty flash. It seemed to be solved when I did a clean install but it's back now. I have to turn my nexus on and off every day for a couple times because it completely hangs. Could you please help me? Is this rom and or kernel related or am I doing something wrong? Any help is welcome. Thanks in advance.

I would say kernel related..try AK kernel. the best kernel so far for our gnex
Why franco? Doesn't the newest aokp use lean kernel?
Alternate Rom and kernel combo may help.

I would try the new 4.2.2 Carbon Rom. I am running the newest AK kernel (you may have to flash GPU binaries for any of the true 4.2.2 kernels). But I tried the bundled kernel and Morfic Kernels (4.2.1) before I flashed the binaries and in all instances THIS ROM WAS EXCELLENT!
No noticeable lag, recents screen worked great, and battery was a bit better than any of the 4.2.1 Roms I tried (Purity, Evolution, LS and Carbon included).
Give it a shot you wont regret it. I clean flashed Carbon 1.0 two weeks ago and then dirty flashed 1.1 Friday. If you're having lag issues I would do at least one full wipe...
I'm having the same problem on carbon and pa3. I can't tell if it is an app issue or rom/kernel related. After 12-24 hours, the lag gets terrible!

try greenify to prevent unwanted apps running in the background. it really helps when it comes to multitasking and battery life: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...biflipde&utm_medium=website&utm_campaign=blog
what kernels do is mostly placebo i think. They are only good for added functionality like OTG or screen calibration, not for performance.
i had issues like that when i first flashed a 4.2 rom, tried a few and all were terrible and had reboots. finnally had the idea to wipe sd storage along with everything else and all 4.2 roms i have used since have been like butter. i always flash ak kernel.

What is the CPU temperature when you notice the most lag? The nexus has thermal throttling to save our phones from melting in our hands. It could be the culprit... Or at least a part of it.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
so finally some other people get this problem... having this issie for quite some time now as soon as i use something else than pure stock.
after a reboot it runs really smooth but the cpu usage for everything is always extremly high on custom roms/kernels and locks up the device if some io operations happen.
on pure stock it never locked up.
since i have no knowledge about finding the culprint i can only hope that some dev will get that issue and travk it down.
it sucks to run stock....

mmcqd appears pretty high on cpu list when it gets to the lockup... anyone has more infos on that one?

Thanks for your answers, it could maybe be related to aokp itself. Aokp build 3 and a few nightly builds have a memory leak issue and bad ram behavior.

the only rom i never had it was pure stock. and as soon as i used a custom kernel the problem returned.

[Q] best rom with low battery use

Hello, what is best rom for wildfire s that have best battery time. I think that when i charge mobile it will be long time on battery and I still do not recharging it too often. Hope you understand me
The "best" rom is always hard to tell. Battery usage depends heavily on how you use the device, what apps you use and so on..
I'm currently using this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248654
and I think the battery lasts about as long as with the stock Android. Maybe a bit shorter.
