Who got beats headphones with their uk HOX? - HTC One X

Hi guys, I didn't get my one x from phones4u, just spoke to them apparently they put it through on the wrong deal and they have messed it up im not a happy bunny over it.
Im thinking of telling them I will go elsewhere but that then leads to the topic question, some people have been getting proper beats headphones with their orders. Can I ask those that got them and not just the cheap htc headsets what network/deal/store they went with?

I got mine from Vodafone. Ordered on the phone but they messed up the order, delivering today to a store that's actually CLOSED today. Luckily they helped me out in-store yesterday so I already have my nice, shiny new One X... with urBeats headphones (entry-level Beats 'phones, but still worth about £100). This is on a £41/month contract (free handset), but the free headphones offer applies across the board, so long as you're one of the first 10,000 customers. Go into a Vodafone store today and you'll probably be lucky, but hurry as I get the impression that this is gonna be one hell of a successful launch for HTC, especially given the buzz created by their 4-page cover ad in yesterday's Metro newspaper.

hello mate. i done a pre-order through 3 and did not get the beats headphones. what i have done now though, due to them not activating my account yet, gave them a lot of bs and told them i am not happy so i want the earphones as a compensation for all the hassle they are putting me through.
so the guy said once my account gets activated they will be sending them out to me. but i read some guys through vodafone got good deals and get the earphones with it..might be worth having a look there

You should definitely get compensation. I didnt get the headphones from Three, but they did give me £50 credit after I complained - ideal situation really as the Urbeats headphones are pretty mediocre

They said someone will be calling me back in the next 30 mins, to discuss the problem and put the order on the correct deal. I will see what they say.
I was hoping it would be another network other than voda that gave them three would be my ideal choice but oh well, its not a must have but im sure as hell not going out to buy a beats headphones myself but would have liked to have one to see how they are on the phone with the beats feature turned on. Oh well will stick to my sennheiser's if I cant get them as a freebie

Probably sound just as good anyway.. this beats gimmick is ridiculous lol. Plattans sound just as good, look better and are 1/3 the price. Either way, free upbeats/Compensation is still better than nothing, good luck mate!

hmm they haven't called me yet either going to call them up on my lunch and see what they have to say for themselves. I will push for compensation but who knows atm

Are Vodafone giving earphones or headphones? I think the lowest earphones are the iBeats ones which retail for 79.99 and also come in matching white/red to the white HOX and red Beats logo.

voda's site says urBeats headphones for all one x and one s orders, but its limited to the first 10,000 orders.

If you have choice, always take money compensation. Beats is overmarketed mediocre stuff, it's well overpriced too. On the phone side, there is nothing but a software bass boost (worse than in any decent audio player). Phones - you will get better sound from other brands and for less money!
But like someone said, it's better than nothing, UNLESS it's calculated into the price, then it's not worth it. To me Beats is worth the same as the iPhone-bundled 1Euro-worth white headphones people use because they think it came from Apple so it has to be great.
Beats is marketing its brand and I see more and more people with those headphones

oh well spoke to them they have cancelled my upgrade order they cant do it, they were upgrading me on tmobile but their back office team is saying they wont do tmobile anymore. I then said id take it on three she said we dont do them either so guess im shopping elsewhere, three have a good cashback deal via quidco will probably use them.

Thanks for this info as i'm going to give them a call today to complain about not getting the headsets also as I was promised it over the phone, and the ones that come in the box kills my ears after 5 minutes

How does this deal that I am tempted to take sound Drefsab?

Holding off for now just because cancellation fee from Vodafone is still through the roof and waiting to hear about the SIII. This deal however, is sweet imo

Well, I just called 3 about this, and have been told that I'll be getting a pair of headphones in the post. Although they said they will be taking it up with the manager of the guy who placed my order, which makes me sad for him, but he did promise the headset.

The buggers at 3 sent me another regular HTC headset, and then have the nerve to tell me that I should just go and buy some Beats head sets as they don't have any instock. Then I'll need to send them proof of purchase and they will adjust my account for me.
So I should be out of pocket by about £50 - £70 because they lied to us about what we got. Should have just gone with Carphone Warehouse or P4U and gotten a media link or xbox and sell it.

Since the Q1 is now "updated", I wonder how this would compare to the t1 bluetooth headset that they sell?
Guess I made a good choice ordering the t1 today. No one seems to be saying, "Wait! The t1 sucks"
the T1 is a great headset i love it but the only problem i have with it is the ear hook the rubber ear holder is not always spot on in the ear. I may look around and see what the price is on this one or see what the latest update does for the Q1.
love the T1; great prices, great sound, and I dumped my Jawbone Icon for it..
hope that with Froyo, you will be able to use all the voice commands on the EVO..
Thanks guys for the input.
Kratos - I remember the thread you started about ordering the t1 from the cellguru. Went ahead, bit the bullet and ordered from them.
On that note, was the product authentic? I mean...was it new condition like you would buy from say...bestbuy or radioshack?
got mine from cell guru; brand new, retail pack..
only down side is NO RETURNS ON BT HEADSETS through them..
Well I read the 300+ reviews and they showed that the products shipped out were authentic and good quality. Only a few people had problems, but cellguru made things right.
Freaking excited because I ordered it with FedEx 2 day shipping. Gotta give my Plantronics Explorer a proper burial
could have saved the money, cause they ship out really fast..I think they are in the Boston area..

I'm in Texas buddy it would take a while to get here. Plus I'm in school so I really needed it ASAP.
As far as FroYo goes, I'm really excited to get the Bluetooth functionality like the push-to-call feature that is missing from 2.1 OS. Hate the fact that I have to connect the Bluetooth and physically touch the screen to dial the person.

New Best Blutooth Headset!

In my never ending search for the ultimate BT headset, I have a new favorite; the Blueant Q2..
Just came out a few weeks ago, and, not easily available, except at ATT retail stores, this guy has it all; best sound, clear and loud, wonderful, lightweight fit, no breakup while walking around, and some awesum interactive features, BING 411 being the most notable..
Blows away my Jawbone Icon, tons better than the T1, and, frankly, I am totally impressed in the one day I have had it.
Its expensive, at 129, but, I am sure it will be around 100 bucks once they start shipping them in earnest.
Dont miss out on this one....
I'm planning on picking up one of these next month when I get my FinAid reimbursement back from the Govt. Hopefully I don't lose this one like my Z9i.
This site has them on pre-order for $100 but I don't know trustworthy and/or reliable they are.
go to the Bluant site, and order it direct from them; use this coupon code to get it for 99 dollars:
colony
code is good until August 31st..
Yep I got the same code emailed to me I plan on orderimg one soon
Technology changes every second, so before you say yours is the best, Sound ID has a new model coming out with an app where you can adjust the incoming sounds levels, not just volume. They are suppose to be coming out with an android also!! but this will give you an idea of what it can do.

Well, was looking at sound id, but...
-NO A2DP without a firmware update, and no MAC software to update the firmware; only 32 bit windows
-NO Android app like the Iphone app that makes it a cool headset
Pay 130+ for a headset with no A2DP now a days? Not a chance
its a nice headset for Iphone users, but a waste of $$ for Androiders

The Sound ID hs looks pretty good. The feature I like the most, which I have wanted for a long time with other sets, is the tracking feature (only [q] is how far it extends though). I've already lost one $80 headset and my $20 replacement was stolen by a former co-worker. I also like that is touch sensitive. The only deal breaker is the lack of an Android app which will hopefully be out by the time I'm ready for purchase (next month or two). The iPhone app looks damn cool! Oh and firmware shmirmware - If you can flash an EVO you can flash this too.
The new Blueant Q2 will call out the names of incoming callers...a feature I've been waiting for...
I'll probably get it...
As long as their names are in your phone's phone book...
correct...which is all I need...

My T1 does that also. I think its a feature of most of the new BlueAnt headset.
true, they both do that..
The major differences between the T1 snd the Q2 are
-Bing 411 on the Q2 is very cool
-Clearer sound on the Q2
- NO BREAKUP on the Q2 when listening to music and walking around
Both are very nice headsets, with similar features, but the Q2 is definitely an upgrade from the T1; is also smaller than the T1

Smaller than the T1 Coming from a Plantronics Explorer, the T1 looks and feels like I have a pebble hanging onto my ear.
I would jump on the Q2, but I think I will wait until Christmas time. Hopefully people would have had some time with it and the price has gone down
yeah, even with the coupon code from blueant, its still 99 dollars...
you know, you could sell your T1 on Ebay for around 40 bucks, which would help lower the cost of the Q2..

Phones4u selling HTC titan

Hi guys just wanted to share my experience with HTC titan. I went into the phones4u store in Basingstoke today and caught a glimpse of a demo unit being shown to a customer. When I asked to look at it I was sat down and asked plenty of questions about my contract. When being asked my name in a store I get a little uneasy... When asked for my phone number when I just want go have a look at a phone I fond it a little annoying. I did say to the girl I just wanted to look at it. She brought her manager over and he indicated the reason they ask the questions is incase i run off with the phone! Lol. I said i should not need to give my number just to look at the device and told him not to bother. I might have been the lucky new owner of a titan! Not today though!
I would plead with anyone in the UK not to bother with phones4u if you can help it. I felt very unwelcome and wish i had never gone in. I would also ask that
Wi

I could not read what I was writing. Using omnia 7 on xda app. It would not scroll down.
Continued: if anyone from HTC reads this please don't give phones4u exclusives if they treat their customers in this manner. After all in not going to buy a phone if i can't have a look at it!!
The glimpse from 6ft I did see it looked very nice !

I've totally agree with you. I have only been into a phone4u shop once and I don't think I ever will again. I found them quite rude and unprofessional. My first impression of the staff was chavs! They looked and dressed like the kids you see hanging around the spar shop at night.
I wouldn't trust them personally. Instead I've been using my local o2 shop for many years, mainly because its always a good experience!
Funny you mention it. I called a local store sometime this afternoon about it. They confirmed its availability, but were quick to ask my name. It was a rather strange feeling. Of course, I didn't. Apparently, they only have it on contract ATM and wanted an unlocked version anyways, so I could escape without them asking for my mother's maiden name.
thats what you folks get for doing all of that rioting over there lol
I went to Birmingham Phones4u today with intentions of picking up a TITAN.
The people who greeted me were VERY nice, the first phones they showed me, without me asking questions were the RADAR and TITAN.
I sat down and was told I would pay £33 a month for the TITAN and £9.99 for insurance.
I was fine with that, then 20mins later, they offered me the same deal for £31 p/m and £7.99 for insurance and a free accessory pack
I had a successful day

Unusual for them to be selling locked phones, usually they are sim free they just bundle the contract with the handset
They are unlocked from phones4u. I'm debating buying on eBay from ecell they are only£415 that and a giftgaff sim works out the same as 24 month contract. I just want to hold one and see if its too big. Anyway.. Post was phones4u related and i certainly won't be going back.

If you have ever held a HD7 then the titan would feel very similiar. I went to Phones4U yesterday and requested to see the Titan.. He sat me down and went to pick it up. Fresh out of the box, never turned on. I held it in my hand whilst Brian told me about HTC and his contracts and selling me stuff.
Excellent phone, much better than the HD7. Brighter, and much better build quality. I want one now!
He also took my name and phone number down, and asked me things like with who I am now and stuff..
I might pick one up. But not sure if I should go with phones4u.
So all in all I don't think they are very bad at phones4u. I went to the leading newest store in manchester and Brian was quite frendly.
If they will start phoning me now than I will tell them where to stick it!
One issue though is that they still try to sell me their androids phones. WTF?? I went in there for the titan. And yet he tried to shove me a sensation down my throat. Discusting!
The titan screen is almost half an inch bigger than the HD7. Similar is subjective. It's a bigger phone. If I want something that big, I'll wait and see if the Galaxy Note comes here, otherwise I'll see what comes to T-Mobile though I may be moving for work so a carrier change may be in order.
I can't do CDMA, though. No Simultaneous V&D rules Verizon and Sprint out for me.

I've been watching ecells listing too. 4 sold, 19 more available. The only reason I haven't bought this yet, Samsung and Nokia. If there weren't any rumors about an Omnia S and Nokia announced their line-up already! I hadn't heard about giffgaff but now! Unlimited internet for £10? Checking it out now!
Why Wont Anyone Upload Pictures Or Videos!!!
Gawd I'm so giddy.
Attached is a panorama mode picture I was sent from twitter.
That photo is very very nice. Thanks for posting. I was thinking about the Samsung and Nokia options too. Thing is I guess much like the first gen phones the specs of all the devices is going to be very similar. I have a couple preferences like large battery and super amoled plus but really I think the titan will stack up well against anything due for release in the next few months..
For those with the titan can you let me know if the speaker matches the omnia7's? Historically HTC speakers are very tinny. The hd7's was very very quiet too.
Thanks

OK, I take it back. Went to the store today and the folk were REALLY nice. Had a tour with the device. The screen is awesome sharp, no pixelation obvious. The black levels aren't as great as amoled screens, but not so bad really. Ordered one already!

SOUND QUALITY (when compared with devices equipped with the Wolfson DAC )

I am probably going for the Note, but I will be testing the sound of the GNexus, the minute it hits the showrooms here in Holland.....and if its sound is as good as or even better than my sgs's (wolfson dac) ....that could change my mind....
Anyway, for those who already own a Galaxy nexus AND have experience with phones equipped with the Wolfson DAC, like the sgs, i-phone and more, how is the GNexus's sound in comparison?
Thanks
Probably going to have to wait for the audiophile or music freaks to get a satisfactory answer to that. A lot of us are still waiting for that answer.
I invented cyberspace. You're trespassing.
Is this thing already being sold or not?
Here in Holland , if I order now, it will take 4 weeks
I pre-ordered mine @ expansys.nl and they deliver on December 3rd. Supercurio inspected the sound hardware already and it looks quite ok. its up to google how they impanted it into the OS, But im not worried cuz im sure things get tweaked and optimised overtime.

BTW. I just looked at the expansys UK site and they have the 32GB model (for others looking for this version of the phone), but no price listed yet:

I guess the selling still have to warm up

Yeah the speaker on my HTC Incredible blew out during the first week of owning it.

HTC could have done better with the price and availability

The phone itself is looking to be the best flagship of the year so far, but HTC should have taken a page from Apple's page book and made it available sooner. I say this because many buyers want immediate satisfaction. Not shipping until early May is a mistake. The next flagship coming down the line will be the Galaxy Note 6 which is supposed to release as early as July. You can bet there will numerous leaks about the Note 6 between now and the time the HTC starts shipping. This will make many decide to wait and see what the Note 6 has to offer.
The price of $699 is too high unless HTC throws in some value in the way of package deals like LG has done with the G5 and Samsung has done with the G7.
The price is in line with other flagships. Although they're nice, I don't need extras.
The nice thing about the freebies from the other carriers is they have some resale value if you don't want them. It lowers the price overall for just the phone.

wouldnt say its the best of the year it looks horrible and that finger print scanner looks weird not even central if you have ocd you pretty ****ed lol and dont get me wrong not here bashing it because i have a samsung s7 edge now as my last 3 htcs have been m7 m8 and m9 so i am a bit of a htc fan boy just i think it doesnt have the premium looks of its predecessors and sadly will be giving it a miss this year
They are including high-res earphones and a QC 3.0 charger, I think they have a pretty well priced package imo.
I think the package and price are fine. Don't forget you're getting free accident insurance with it too - and that the bootloader is unlockable thru HTCdev.
Both the HTC and Exynos S7s have some tradeoffs to make on US carriers (such as LTE band 30 support missing on the 930/935F), so it's a matter of figuring out what works best for you.
I too have the S7E, and the 10 will have a hard time beating out the Edge IMO. I've been keeping my eye on the 10, but once they replaced front facing speakers with fingerprint scanner...I was like I already own a Galaxy phone since both the A9 & 10 resemble it from the front. If they had kept front facing speakers and put scanner on the back, I would've considered returning my S7E
Front facing scanner is the right way to do it. I don't want to lift the phone from my desk if I want to quickly peek. I am so glad they went this way.
And I am fine with dual speaker setup on HTC 10. Its not the best way for stereo sound but it works way better than mono on the S7 and G5.
Unlocked bootloader is the reason I will buy this phone though!! Bravo HTC! This time its officially supported. No voiding the warranty!
Looking like the best of all so far. S7 and G5 -> can't unlock bootloader -> No sale.
If you signed up for HTC's "exclusive for HTC owners" prior to the unveiling, they promised to send a special incentive.
The email just showed up and it was for $100 off a pre-order thru HTC.
It just keeps getting better.

Thanks, I was wondering when we were going to get that email. Thought maybe they forgot
The price for the unlocked version in Canada is 999$ + 10$ shipping = 1009$
Well its to expensive, lets buy a carrier branded version with a 2 years agreement... What? Bell mobility is the exclusive carrier? With a 85$/month plan? LOL
Well I guess I'll have to wait a few months before buying.
I think the price is on point with other flagships.
1) Bootloader unlocking with out voiding warranty.
2) UH OH Protection (purchased through HTC.com).
3) Quick charger and high end ear buds.
Also there WILL be discounts here and there (i.e. the current $100 off with email coupon).

Did this work? Link please
Apparently I can share it via email. PM me your email and I'll send it.
The only thing I'm not sure about is if it's a unique promo code or not, which is why I haven't shared it publicly. If it ends up being the same, I'll gladly share it out.
NM - just saw it on Android Central and it's not unique, so here it is.

I haven't even posted here in a long time, maybe years and I just logged in right now to tell you how awesome you are! I was in the checkout page with an $817 bill decided to fish around for some coupons and luckily stumbled back here and ended up paying $707. Big difference IMO.
THANKS AGAIN!!!
You're welcome! Glad it worked out for you!
Very big difference indeed. Did you get some accessories with it to get the price up there?

Yeah I got that ice case. Funny when I looked this morning the $100 deal wasn't posted on the tech blogs yet and after I saw your post I saw it on all of the blogs haha. Sucks for those that were drooling and pulled the trigger immediately!
Again no freebies but what comes in the box is better than the others so I guess it was a good deal. Thanks again!
If you put the phone in your cart and go thru the point where you have to log in with your email and then abandon your cart, I'm pretty sure they will email you a "free shipping" offer within 24 hours as well.
Of course, if you're the type that is most concerned about being at the front of the line, you might not care
$699 out the gate is steep, but it's inline with Apple and Samsung. This phone will probably be $500 by September.
