Need for Speed Shift data [SOLVED!] - HTC One X

Installed it, but problem on downloading required data, always showing "NaN 0 of 0MB"
tried many times on wifi and on 3g but to no avail.
already emailed EA but only redirected me to their stupid HELP site which you cannot get anything also.
anybody able to download data yet? please share here. TIA
EDIT: Finally able to download. I am on ARHD ROM now, I think it should work with stock ROM also, you just try.
ok here are the game data, extract to your /sdcard/Android/data:
MOD-Edit: Download links removed. This is a paid app. No links on xda...
one thing to note, reboot your phone after you move the data to the correct folder.

from experience working with satnavs (on winmo) that use sd card for map storage, i found that some didn't always work with internal storage on the pdas, luckily most of these you were able to put in an sd card anyways - i suspect some apps may need a bit of development work to support this internal storage (different path names etc)
EDIT: not sure if this will be possible on android - but a fix (sometimes) was to rename the internal storage directory to Storage Card (or whatever the name of the SD card would be) and sometimes this would fool the app into thinking there was actually an sd card there, and would then start working correctly.

It has been like this for months now, I brought for £0.10 druing the Android Market 10 billion download promotion week. Tried on different devices without success. Too lazy to try to get my money back from EA.

Just tried it and got exactly the same problem!! NaN oMB of 0MB! ARSE!

thought i was the only one with this problem. bought it during the 8billion download sale from the then android market.

Is it me or is this stupid?
The launch icon came pre-installed on my phone but it won't let me download the content. I can't delete it either. I might be really anal but I hate clutter. if I can't use it I want rid of it.

guys, finally! able to download the data and I must say this is an awesome gameplay in our One X! Had tried one race already, woohoo.
i'm currently uploading my game data now in mediafire and dropbox, try to download it and see if it will work for you, GOOD LUCK!
EDIT: dropbox link at first post

Thanks, that sorted it for me!

Tried. But still didn't work for me. Wonder why...

This was a really good help. I tried it also often and thought, i made something wrong. The server seems to be down. And the help is really horrible there.
Thank you very much. I have one problem, i had had also on wp7: After a while playing the screen goes off, if you hadn´t touched it...is there a solution for it? Here it gets dark and i touch it and it´s okay. But other games doesn´t have these problems.

personally i didn't really notice it
maybe the game doesn't cooperate nicely or got conflict somehow with the phone's own screen timeout setting, temporary fix should be to set screen timeout to "never", before playing this game

Thanks for the link fella
It's strange though, because i did copy the data from my Desire onto my 1X, and the game would load up, but go to a grey screen rather than the one where you can pick your first car!?
Ah well... it works fine now, so that'll do.

hahaha exactly what happened to me also last time when I copied my game data from my Arc, and lol the graphics is grey, what the heck!
it could be due to the different screen resolution of the 2 phones

Once you extracted the downloaded zip file, copy paste the whole folder under your /sdcard/Android/data. Just override the existing files there.
After that, reboot your phone. It was there on my instruction in first post.
I hope it will work for you, the game is pretty good in our one x.

I found this link through google. Can any kind soul locate the data I would need for this game, for the Galaxy Note? I get the same error 'Nan 0MB of 0MB' and EA are utterly useless as we all know. I have tried the data from the OP and the game actually starts up but all the menu screens are distorted and when the game starts although I can hear the engine roar, I can't see anything 0_o
If anyone can link me to the data I need for the Galaxy Note, that would be brilliant!

LG OSP (On Screen Phone) on the Nitro

Soooo......
Has anybody tried this little nifty feature LG has given us? I think it's a neat gem that LG has included on their phones, allowing us to control our phones on the PC via wireless, bluetooth, or usb connections. As you can see in the screenshot, it looks exactly as though you are on your phone, except you control it using the mouse and type using a physical keyboard. This way, you can leave the phone charged somewhere away from the pc, and yet you still can do things on the phone when necessary, or reply text messages or browse through files.
I'm sure there's many more things we can do with this, I just have to research into them Let me know if any of you have been playing around with it.

Something interesting, I can use the feature to control the phone to take pictures remotely. Unfortunately, you cannot see what you are taking a picture off until you actually click on the trigger an a sample is shown to you (first screenshot). Apparently, it doesn't support moving images (like live picture taking, or video recording, or playing videos), but at least for now, you can use it as a remote trigger
And just to show you guys some more screenshots, here it is on the browser.
Oh and btw, the image doesn't do justice to the size of the on screen feature. Of course it is being compressed and resized since it's uploaded here. To give you some sense on how big it is, here is a screenshot of my whole screen (1920x1200) with the program running somewhere in the middle of the screen.
Very interesting. I've never seen that feature on any youtube review, or anything about the Nitro on the net.
The screenshot in your first post, is that how your phone looks like exactly? Is that Go Launcher with ICS theme? What folder app are you using? Thanks!

You can download the pc software here
(If link is still dead, download it from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?ac1a5bj1tg25d2j )
The website is this: http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/LG-P930.jsp under resources, look for On-Screen phone under Downloads. (Apparently, LG has undergone a site reconstruction and in the process removed the link to OSP, so unless they decided to put it back on the site, you will no longer see it there)
Once installed, the program will guide you on how to get it working, but basically, on the phone, you want to go to Setting > Connectivity > On-Screen Phone Settings.
Enable On-Screen Phone and set your password.
This program seems to be a bit finicky at times, and you can lose connection to it and not be able to connect at all for more than a few minutes. I'm sure there will be updates in the future.
aquiariuz,
Your link isn't working for me and I can't find the OSP stuff on the LG website at all. Any other info?
OSP
Anyone using this noticed if it eats up ram or slows down your phone? I am hesitant to try it out.
It looks like LG has pulled the download from their site since you posted the original link. I can't find it anywhere.
I even chatted with an LG rep earlier and they couldn't provide it. Actually, the idiot thought I was asking about a phone update and kept telling me their wasn't an update for the Nitro at this time.
Aquariuz... can you provide the file here?
Just downloaded from this link: LG_OSP2.0_Setup_2.0.05.20111012.exe
22.4mb file
link
Try this csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/MOBILESYNC/GO/QOSP.2.0.08.20120130/LGOnScreenPhone/AutoRun/LGOSP_Setup.exe
Sorry for the late reply guys. Got home really late from work tonight.
So it seems right after I posted the thread, LG decided to revamp their site and changed the whole structure and layout of it. I'm guessing they probably had temporarily removed it from the site and has yet to re-add it back. I don't believe something is wrong with the application itself since actually On Screen Phone software has been around for a while and available on almost all LG phones.
Anyways, since the link is now down, please use the following link, I've uploaded the copy I downloaded:

Mdkrush, like i've mentioned, this is something you use when you do not want to be handling your phone, like when it is charging somewhere across the room, or you'd rather type your sms/IMs using a physical keyboard rather than the touch key, etc. Obviously it will eat up Ram and slows down the phone a bit, that is just normal when you are technically making the phone stream itself onto your computer monitor.
Thanks for the links guys. And thanks for updating Aquariuz. However, I'm not able to get it to detect my phone.
Also, does the phone have to remain unlocked? Or can I lock the phone to avoid having the display drain the battery?
edit: I got it working and learned the hard way that the program is simply a display for the phone. Unfortunately you cannot lock your phone and still use it on the computer. It only shows EXACTLY what your phone is doing. Anyone know of a way around this?
I ask because when I'm working in the field I sometimes use the SlingPlayer app while having the phone on a signal booster. Even with the phone hooked up to a charger it still drains faster than the charger can keep up. I guess it's because of the HD display on this phone? Or maybe there's a problem with the battery/phone?

Do you mean having the phone's screen off while using OSP on the computer? Unfortunately it won't work that way Allstar. When you unlock the phone in OSP, it also awakens the phone. Like u said, it shows exactly what your phone is doing.
My only suggestion is having the brightness on the lowest to conserve energy. It will not affect the brightness on your computer though.
I've thought the same thing about turning the brightness all the way down. Unfortunately the screen still Burns a lot of power.
I wish there was a way to keep apps running and turn the display off.

The only company I know that does that is Nokia lol. I remember having one of their smartphones connected to the computer, and I can almost do everything the phone can do via the computer. It was awesome lol.
Well I guess if I can just tether my internet connection to the laptop I won't need to run Slingplayer on the phone. You can tether with the phone locked right?

[APP][PORT] S Voice for Droid Incredible 2!!!

All this courtesy the leak: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
For ICS ROMS ONLY!
Update: Most bugs fixed.
Link for S Voice Zip for Droid Incredible 2: [Dropbox Link]http://goo.gl/od4gS
Installation:
=========
1) Wipe Cache and Dalvik (don't wipe data, it will remove all your apps.) [RECOMMENDED]
2) Install Zip from Recovery
3) ??? Profit!
Alternate/Manual Method:
If zip is causing trouble or wanna do it without a reboot, copy the apk into /system/app/ and the library file into /system/lib/ and set 644 permissions aka rw-r--r-- for both files. Profit!
How to use:
=========
0) Set the Voice input as "Samsung powered by Vlingo".
1) Launch app.
2) Use the app once the introduction is done... Profit!
Known Issues:
===========
* Quitting the app before finishing the introductory setup causes FCs in subsequent launches. Only workaround so far is to clear app data.
* Now you can set personalized commands instead of "Hi Galaxy". But, some personalized commands (like play music) will force close the app, as the corresponding Samsung music app/Camera app etc. is missing. Can't help!
* You tell me!
CHANGELOG:
=========
[*] v1.2: Added the signed version of the app to fix network errors. Thanks to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662255
[*] v1.1: Fixed FC when setting personalized commands.
[*] Initial Release. Fixed FC bug by including a library file "libsvoxtts.so" present inside the APK at /system/lib/

BUMP!! Updated to fix some bugs
EDIT: Btw folks, this seems to be only a bloody novelty! I tried calling my friend by saying his name... It successfully recognized the command and the name.. But it took bloody insane time to actually make the call!!! If anyone uses this to improve productivity as "Samsung" says, they'll lose their job the very same day for so! Well, it could be possible that since it is not meant for our phone AND/OR since the SGS3 has a quad core Tegra 3 (and the US version will probably have the S4 which is very powerful too) it may work well on those devices and not ours...
Anyway, hope a more seasoned dev than me can step in and tweak it and improve efficiency.
I'll be logcating away today and trying to improve this app's efficiency AND iron out some more bugs!

[SOLVED] Old pics not showing up in gallery suddenly

The albums in the gallery are suddenly gone today and no matter what I did, they won't show up. Only the newly taken/downloaded ones will be displayed but everything shows up perfectly fine using QuickPic/any file explorer/my PC.
I've tried..
Rebooting
Deleting cache/clear data of the Gallery app
Rescan Media app
Check for .nomedia file
None of them has worked so far. Any help will be appreciated.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30282389 Go here for the explanation

Sometimes pictures organized in third party file explorer won't show up either. But may show up after a few days, or never. It's pretty random. Do they require that every file operation should be done inside stock gallery app?
Gallery issue
I have the similar problem with Gallery, tried full wipe an flash a new, still no go.
Bump - any help/suggestion is really appreciated here.
This just happened to me today as well. If I search it out I can find then in the correct file path. It is just Gallery app is not displaying them. The only thing I have done is wiped and flashed black bean ROM the wiped and restored to pure AOSP. It may have been going on before the flash but I didn't notice it.

After trying nearly everything, I've found out the reason that my photos (and music later too) have disappeared because either my phone or an app is creating the .nomedia file in either the Android>data directory or root of internal storage.
It's really weird because I don't have any app installed that allows me to hide media file. Yet the phone somehow managed to create the .nomedia file randomly by itself. :-\ I've deleted .nomedia file for 3 times already, seems like it will come back every time when I reboot my phone.

Anyone get a fix for this I found the nomedia file in Android>data and deleted it but I still don't have my gallery albums
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
its more than just the gallery i believe. its the phone not being able to access anything from the sdcard. this also happened to me randomly in the middle fo the day today.
i also tried to delete the .nomedia file but like MilkPudding said, the file is automatically recreated when the phone is rebooted so theres no way to tell if that actual file is causing the problem. everything was working fine until the middle of the day today.
what makes the situation stranger is that i took a photo this morning with my phone around 10am, and then 2 more around 1:30pm, and in between that time, it mustve happened that it just stopped reading the sdcard. So when i opened the gallery when i first noticed the problem, the 2 photos i took at 1:30pm were the only 2 showing up, but then timestamps were off. the photos were literally taken one after the other and the timestamps showed them as being taken at 2:58pm and 3:56pm. once i transferred the pictures to my computer through mtp, those 2 photos stopped being shown in the gallery. SO. WEIRD.
this is more than a little weird that this problem seemed to start popping up for many people today, with seemingly no reason for it, and yet, there are many many more who are completely unaffected.
Same issue with euroshank CM10 nightly.......I cannot solve the problem!
Use quickpic (free in play store) it is much better for managing pictures and allows you to add/remove folders

The same exact thing happened to me, literally. Took a picture in the morning and now the phone is having trouble reading the SD card.
Just tried to listen to sum music and Google play music is not recognizing the SD card at all. Poweramp works, though. This is weird.

yeah, it seems that some third party apps can still read the sdcard, cuz MXplayer still sees all the camera videos and other videos i loaded. GoSMS on the other hand didnt recognize the notification sounds on it though.
This is happening to many people, all today, all across different ROMs, different versions of Android, and different devices.
Am I the only one that has considered some type of software infection or mass produced bug from a common third party app we are all using?

GO SMS can't read the SD card. It won't let me set any custom ringers for my friends. Does anyone know of a seperate notification setter app that I could use instead until this problem is fixed?

Only way to know is for everyone to list their apps. For some, that could take a while!

Try v1, v2 seems to be borked.
Full disclosure, but I'm intoxicated at the moment. Anyway, I greatly appreciate this. I haven't had Netflix working in quite awhile. I tried other method but was still having problems. Perhaps I wasn't getting the permissions right. I tried flashing version 2. It kept failing. I just now tried version 1 after you mentioned version 2 wasn't working right. I still had issues at first. I was just about to give up hope, and assume that my device hated me, but I messed around with the permissions once more, and... Eureka. It works great. So, really, thanks.

Didn't work for me. I used pimp my rom and faster media streaming under network and internet which improved things significantly. A little stutter at first then fine. Couldn't use it at all before this.

This zip only fixes graphical distortions during playback, it has no effect on any other factors. I'm glad it was of help to you :good:
Thanks :good:
This fixed Netflix on my Sony Xperia Tablet Z running CM11. :highfive:
worked for me
I'm using an Optimus G Pro E980 and this fix worked for me. Thanks!
This just makes my netflix app crash at launch. Any way to uninstall the zip again?
EDIT: Just went to system/etc/init.d with root explorer and changed permissions to the same as the other files in that folder. Still crashes at launch.
I can get it to work using an older version of netflix and no patch. V 3.0.1 build 1016
You can get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46545345&postcount=2942

Pretty sure the latest Netflix update with all of the UI changes broke this fix. It worked perfectly before the last app update.

Not a problem and not your fault, plus I'm using Chromecast most of the time anyway. The original script just doesn't work anymore. I just wanted to let jackiass know why he was getting force closes.

Nah, I got a Nexus 5. I was considering the One Max but I was just fed up with the non-Nexus experience.
Thanks for the replies. I can still watch movies on my bus rides using the older apk, though it would be nice with the updated functionality of the new one. I spoke with netflix support. The supporter first told me how much he loved my phone and CM and then told me it was no problem at all. I just had to revert to the original firmware of my phone, and everything should be hunky dory. Thanks for the help netflix!?

I have issues with Netflix also on my home built OmniROM for Asus TF101 tablet. The 98netflix script used to work like a charm, persisting through reboots and Netflix app restarts. Since the last 2 or 3 Netflix updates though I found that if I change the player type in the script to "10" and reboot, then Netflix app will start up fine and let me watch videos. If I stop the video, then back out to the main Netflix screen, the app force closes and any attempts to restart it result in the usual force close. If I reboot or manually rerun the script (with the "10" values) from a terminal as su, then Netflix is partially fine again, until I back out of the app or close it. It's like settings aren't being saved and I can verify that the nfx_preferences are changed at boot to reflect the player type before staring the Netflix app, but are gone after Netflix has ran. My hardware is Tegra 2 10.1" tablet for what it is worth.

This script is basically telling netflix to use a different mode than what it thinks is best for your device. I think the new netflix apps might be checking that mode on exit and overwriting the changes made by the script (which runs at boot).
You could set a shortcut to the script in your application drawer and run it after exiting netflix.
Is there any news on solve the problem? Is there a new script? Netflix is great, but I hate get back to stock rom for use it :´(

We fixed it for Asus tf101 Tegra 2 tablet. It seems to survive updates to Netflix so far, but is Tegra 2 specific.

What exactly would we be limiting here?
I have the same issue. Personally I don't think it's the cause of my battery issues though but I'll rather knock off all the possibilities before standing behind that claim.
I have a feeling yfbc and myself have an awake time that accounts for a good chunk of time. But everything in BBS and WD are saying that things are fine. Best part is that the totals in the wakelock sections don't even add up to the total awake time. Ghost wakelocks ?

Is anyone else having a problem getting their G4 to go into Download Mode?
Mine simply will not do it. It boots into the T-Mobile screen and then the home screen.
(I know how to go into Download Mode. I've owned G2 & G3 with custom ROM's.)
I've even tried other volume/power button combinations, to no avail.

I had issues before too. What you're suppose to do is hold the volume up button ONLY.
And then plug in the USB. You do not touch the power button at all to boot it back up. It should turn on, on it's own after plugging in the USB.
Thanks for your response Spartan268, but that is exactly what I did. I only mentioned the Power button because I also tried that possibility. I had a G2 and a G3 with custom ROM's and custom recovery. So I was aware of the documented method used to go into download mode. But it doesn't work.
This (Energy) Control Widget
This widget is afaik stock. At least it is on my Nexus 5. Haven't found it on my LG G4. I really do like it. How can I copy it? I do have root and Titanium Backup. Now I just need to know the name and back it up & restore, right?
Anyone any idea on the name or how to find out?

What about
Code:
adb shell reboot download
? Something else that I have tried many times and works but you might not be willing to try is using a one-click root method for the LG G3 (on G3 general thread) . It will not root the G4 or affect it in any way but will manage to put the G4 into Download mode.

Android 5.1 doesn't give user installed apps write access to the SD card, only apps that were pre installed on your phone can write to the SD card. You can give some user installed apps write access through document provider, but not all apps offer this option.
I wonder if we converted user installed apps to system apps in titanium backup if they would then have access to the SD card?

It used to work before, so not sure what happened, probably on google's side I guess? Also yesterday I went and emptied my trash on photos and it let me delete some more pictures. I also remember the app asked me to give it permission to write to the SD card when I installed it.

SDFix in the Play store will grant everything write permission to the SD card. I'm not sold that it's a good idea yet, but I'm using it for now.
Did Google Photos get an update? It may be a problem in Google's end. I've been noticing a lot of their apps are updating frequently.

I'm pretty much settled on my upgrade being the G4 and I should be able to pick it up on Friday.
I had a play about in an EE store on Monday and one of my niggles is the notification pull down. It's hideous. I like my notification pull down to be pretty discrete and minimalistic.
Is it themable and how configurable is what appears there? Do I have to have sliders for brightness and volume?
You can turn off the brightness and volume sliders. But I don't know of options for theming, etc. At least not on my Verizon model.
