Hi,
the inverted gapps+extras you have made available here are great looking and very good for saving battery. Besides, the aroma installer is super user friendly. It's hard to believe how easy and painless your inverted apps can be flashed. BTW, 3.2.5 works perfectly on CM10.
Thanks!!!!!!

Multiple reasons
1.) Because you make it convenient for the user, by working with mrRobinson to make the awesome aroma installer where we can select individual apps that fit our interest or by flashing everything all together. When I was on ICS i got my inverted apps from rootzwiki and I had to flash each one one by one and the themer didn't take user input into account, he just did what he wanted. You take feed back into consideration and thats a huge deal for a successful package.
2.) You strive to make this work on all the JB devises. Other themers just make sure it works on their current platform.
3.) You partnered with an awesome themer TUN_SD, his work is by far the best. And you guys always try to keep up to date with the latest releases.
Keep up the great work. Google needs to hire you guys so that inverted apps get released by default. :highfive:

Your inverted apps package was the first one I stumbled on when I got my new phone and decided to flash CM10, just glad I happened to randomly find the best. To echo prior sentiments: Everything works great, any minor issues are addressed quickly, updates happen rapidly, and the option to flash the entire package or use aroma is very nice. :good: Inverted exchange email client, gmail and reader are the specific killer apps for me.

No such luck. I froze and untinstalled in TiBu, and went into recovery and flashed. Same issue.
Hey justin,
Are you manually inverting each app's xml and drawables, or, have you automated most of the process to make turnaround faster when there's code updates from Google (well, updated gapps actually)?
(EDIT: I should've posted this in the other, bigger thread, but oh well - not going to double-post.)
I tried your exchange fix and it does not seem to change the issue. I am on cm10 7-25 and KT's job kernel. I see it changed exchange from version 5 to 4.1. Thanks for this package and the help.

I'm going to completely remove that application so all you have to do is wipe cache and dilvk and re install the rom then you can install my justinbean then all should be well.

Thought I'd spread the word. All credit goes to Paul on this! Amazing work!
Google Wallet is super cool. It allows purchasing of things using the NFC chip in your device at Mastercard PayPass terminals, using either an inbuilt pre-paid card (which is loaded up with $10 free credit initially) or a CitiBank Citi Mastercard. But, there is a problem - and that's that Wallet is only available for a very limited subset of devices on a limited number of operators in the US.
Hence the need to patch the APK.
Now, i'll start by saying that there may well be a patched APK out there already (I didn't check), I chose to patch the APK myself because, when i'm putting in my credit card numbers etc. I like to know what i'm working with. I started with the latest version I downloaded personally from the Google Play Store (by spoofing my operator with 'Market Access') which I then patched as required.
The patched APK
The APK has 3 features that I patched out. The first was a device check - the app will now work on any device. Of course you need to have NFC for it to be useful! I tested on a HTC One X successfully (as you can see in the screenshots above) but of course YMMV. The second patch was an operator check - the app should now not care which operator you are on. The third patch was removing the root warning. Google Wallet doesn't actually stop you using the app if you're rooted, it just gives you a warning on screen (which is a little annoying), so I removed it. BUT... rather than having the warning in app, let me post it here instead. If you are using Google Wallet on a rooted device, really think about which apps you are giving root access... because there is the possibility that a malicious app could do bad things. There's no evidence of this happening, but it's possible. As always, be wary of what you're installing and where it came from.
Installation
The APK cannot be installed in the regular way (because it is not re-signed and therefore has broken signatures), instead you should push the apk to /system/app (or copy there using a file explorer and set appropriate permissions) and then you'll be good to go. This means you'll need to be rooted or at least have a custom recovery installed mind. To uninstall, use the 'reset wallet' option in the settings menu then delete the APK.
Important note re: upgrading
If you are using a previous version of Wallet, please ensure you the 'reset wallet' option in the Wallet app settings.
Download
Download the patched APK here - DOWNLOAD (ROMraid) - MD5: 775946c9b164d2dd1edc1a36e59e41a3
Topping Up
So you've installed the APK and spent your initial $10 at Greggs or maybe Mcdonalds. Healthy. Now you need to top up... there's a problem!
Google Wallet only allows you to load the prepaid card using a US card, which most of us accessing Wallet this way don't have! The card that you use needs to support AVS (address verification) with a US address, something that also excludes a number of US cards. I'm hoping that we as a community can collaborate to work out the best way to do this, but i've tried a few methods and i've chronicled them below. I'll update this post as more methods / information surfaces. I'm hoping we can find a low cost disposable Visa solution or similar that makes the process easy. Getting a US address is easy enough to associate with a card, just sign up (free) for US Unlocked.
BFPS - Virtual credit card in various denominations, configurable AVS address, use coupon 'modaco' for 5% discount - WORKING
EntroPay - Virtual credit card, turns out to be Malta registered and doesn't support AVS - FAILED
US Unlocked card - Virtual credit card, currently untested - UNKNOWN
The 1.5 release
The 1.5 release added support for third party Visa / Mastercard / Discover / Amex cards. This is officially US only at the moment and although you CAN get non-US cards appearing correctly, in my experience so far, payments are always declined.
Disclaimer
If you use any of the above modified APKs or top up methods, you do so at your own risk! Please let us know how you get on in the comments below, so we can refine / improve the process based on our experiences.
WARNING
If you plan to wipe your device, switch ROM on your device or otherwise do anything unusual (including 'clearing data' on wallet), it is highly recommended that you use the 'reset wallet' option in the Wallet app settings. Failure to do this could render Wallet inoperable on your device!
Another note of caution, we're using a 'hack' here, so it's probably not the best idea to load up your Prepaid card with a ton of money in case Google blocks hacked wallets, something changes, etc. etc. and you could lose your money. Again, use at your own risk.
And finally...
If you find the above useful and you want to support my work on this and all the other MoDaCo projects, please consider signing up for a premium MoDaCo account. Thanks!

won't connect to account/
Thanks for posting this. Unfortunately, connecting my account is not working for me. The install works fine and I can open the app but then it gets stuck when I try to link my google account. On the "Select an Account" screen I select my account and press "continue" which triggers the "adding account" waiting pop-up but nothing happens. It'll just stay like that until the screen turns off then I'm back to the "Selecting an Account" screen. Tried over cell signal and wifi. Anybody else out there with more luck?

It's most likely $10 per account not per device so you would probably have to link the app on each phone to a separate account in order to do that.

Oh, sorry then. I'm wondering if anyone can answer this: I tried to give GW it's first test today and it failed. I have NFC enabled in settings and I've set up my account. I have a FlyGrip attached to the rear of my phone, an accessory that allows me to hold this big phone with one hand and reach all areas of the screen with my thumb. I'm wondering if it failed because I cant touch my phone flush with the PayPass reader? For this same reason I cannot do the wireless charging hack the rear of the phone needs to be flush with the charging pad. So, can it be less than an inch away or does it need to touch? Maybe that FlyGrip has got to go.

Guys check this out
Best result on Android 4.+
Description
Hey everyone,
So, I was experiencing significant lag as we all do from time to time, and decided I was going to get to the bottom of it.
After tracing and debugging for hours, I discovered the source of 90% of Android's lag. In a word, entropy (or lack thereof).
Google's JVM, like Sun's, reads from /dev/random. For all random data. Yes, the /dev/random that uses a very limited entropy pool.
Random data is used for all kinds of stuff.. UUID generation, session keys, SSL.. when we run out of entropy, the process blocks. That manifests itself as lag. The process cannot continue until the kernel generates more high quality random data.
So, I cross-compiled rngd, and used it to feed /dev/urandom into /dev/random at 1 second intervals.
Result? I have never used an Android device this fast.
It is literally five times faster in many cases. Chrome, maps, and other heavy applications load in about 1/2 a second, and map tiles populate as fast as I can scroll. Task switching is instantaneous. You know how sometimes when you hit the home button, it takes 5-10 seconds for the home screen to repopulate? Yeah. Blocking on read of /dev/random. Problem solved. But don't take my word for it .. give it a shot!
Update!
I've built a very simple Android app that bundles the binary, and starts/stops the service (on boot if selected). I'll be adding more instrumentation, but for now, give it a shot! This APK does not modify /system in any way, so should be perfectly safe.
This is my first userspace Android app, so bear with me!
Note that this APK is actually compatible with all Android versions, and all (armel) devices. It's not at all specific to the Captivate Glide.

Before doing anything, please read the first post of this thread to understand how this thing functions!
Read it here: First post
First things first I am not the OP but things need to be sorted out...Ok...this thread is starting to get more and more attention, which is good because with more people to test things out, the more feedbacks and the more improvements can be done...however, the thread is now cluttered by tons on unhelpful posts, like "how to use this", "do I need root" etc...useful posts get pushed wayyy behind, until it is hard for people who are really trying to discuss to keep track...so I am here to answer the basic questions:
Do you need root for the app?:
Yes
Can it work on xxx device?:
Yes, as long as your device is arm based
Where to download the app?:
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1640660&d=1358063993
Or search Play Store for a donate version...
The other 2 attachments are the rngd binary and a diff patch, which are not really required for end users...
How do I know that it is working?
Prior to starting seeder entropy generator through the app (v1.2.4 onwards), the bar below will only show numbers around 100-200++. After you start it, if the bar fills up and the value shoots up to 4000++, then it is working.
Do I have a risk of bricking my device?
No because the app won't modify system files at all...anything just uninstall...
For the zip, it only adds files to your system partition...does not modify any, so if you want to stop using this, you can disable it via the extended menu script...
It does not do anything/It is placebo/I see no improvements/It is awesome!/Wow!:
Well, this is not constructive or helpful...NOT AT ALL...keep in mind that this is still a WIP...research and discussions are still going on...if it is not working or you feel no change or a great improvement, please describe more and explain...which a lot of others are already doing so......keep it up!
Seems that certain people are so bugged by the app...so...for those who prefer to run this via a script and init.d, read on...(the script works the same as the app, but with a few extra features)
=======================================================================================================================
UPDATE: Seeder_v7 is out, as suggested by pepoluan, it now detects for qrngd (built in rngd for Qualcomm Snapdragon-based devices), if it is there, then it will not start as rngd may conflict with it...the rngd binary is also using the latest version (it is turned off when screen is off)...users of previous versions can just flash it over...
INSTALLING
You need init.d support for this!
Download and flash:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390248398092764755
How to use this script?:
After flashing, launch terminal emulator and type
Code:
su
seeder
You will get a menu like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
NOTE: There will be NO app after flashing! This only installs the necessary binaries and scripts...
For those who cannot install via recovery:
You get a status 0 error -> replace the update-binary in Seeder_v6.zip with one from another zip that works with your device
OR
Use the new installation method!
Instructions:
1. Download Seeder_v7_non-CWM.zip from here:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390248398092764756
2. Extract the zip, you will get a folder named "install"
3. Place the folder in the root of your sdcard (/sdcard)
4. Launch terminal emulator, type:
Code:
su
cd /sdcard/install
sh install.sh
5. Ignore any error messages (those are only warnings, only happens to current users)
6. You are done! The script will auto-delete the "install" folder as it is not required anymore...
Sample output:
UNINSTALLING:
And now for the way to clean up Seeder_7:
Via recovery:
Flash Seeder_v6&7_Uninstall.zip:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390248398092764753
Via terminal:
1. Download Seeder_v6&7_Uninstall_non-CWM.zip:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390248398092764145
2. Extract it to the root of your sdcard (/sdcard), you should get a file named uninstall.sh
3. Launch terminal emulator and type this:
Code:
su
cd /sdcard
sh uninstall.sh
4. You are done! Everything gets cleaned up, including uninstall.sh...

Updates
There has been a lot of controversy about Seeder/rngd. In newer versions of Dalvik, nothing touches /dev/random, and yet many users (including myself) still notice a lag reduction. There are theories ranging from kernel lock contention to UI polling load when crediting the entropy pool to simply kicking the governor. And many who believe it's all placebo. I'm trying my best to figure out what exactly is happening, and others are as well.
Someone asked how I arrived at the conclusion I did when I started the thread back in November, and I posted this; I think it might be better served here:
A while back one of the webapps I was hosting on Tomcat (server-side) was experiencing some inexplicable latency and while stracing java I saw it frequently hanging on read()'s from /dev/random. I checked the available entropy, and it was constantly under 250 or so. It was a VM, no HWRNG, so I decided to use rngd to push urandom->random.
Dropped session creation times under load from 5-10 seconds to less than a second.
It's worth noting that Linux is one of very few OSes that have a blocking RNG device. Free/OpenBSD, Windows, etc.. essentially only provide urandom. It's generally considered secure, even for long-term crypto keys, so long as the initial seed is big (and random) enough.
Checked on my device, and saw a few processes grabbing /dev/random. /proc/sys/kernel/random/entropy_avail reporting depleted input pool. Figured it was worth a shot, so I rebuilt rngd for arm (with a few patches, linked on first page), and tried it out. It made a significant difference. Posted it up on this thread, and had a lot of positive feedback. Wanted to get into Android development, so figured.. why not wrap a little UI around it. More positive feedback, so I threw it on the market as well.
I had no idea it would take off like this and was shocked when I saw it Thursday morning. I'm in the awkward position now of explaining why it seems to work for some people, and not for others, especially given the fact Dalvik doesn't have references to /dev/random as of ICS. Theories abound, but it looks like it might be an issue of polling the UI for input events when the entropy pool drops (which never happens so long as rngd is running).
I'm doing this as a hobby. I'm a *nix admin by trade, and can only spend time working on this stuff on evenings and weekends, and the last few weeks have been kinda nuts.
I want to stress to everyone that:
a) It doesn't work the way I thought it did on later Android builds, but it does reduce latency for me and many others even on these builds,
b) I'm offering (and always will offer) Seeder for free to everyone on XDA,
c) Like I say in the market description, if anyone has purchased it and it isn't working, PLEASE email me for a refund (and let me know what device you're on if you're willing).
I was one of the first to root the Captivate glide (my first Android phone), and submitted the A2DP bitpool patch; I was active in the n900 community. I hope everyone understands that I'm doing my best here!
I hope the technique proves useful to people, and if there is in fact contention at the kernel level, I hope it's solved so we all benefit.
Version 2.0.0 attached. No changes.
Version 2.0.0b1 attached. New performance profile selector, I/O queue extender, and power saving control. Improved root checking.
Version 1.4.0 attached. Major refactoring. Service control now fully asynchronous.
Version 1.3.1 attached. No changes from 1.3.1-beta.
Version 1.3.1-beta released. New root check method during ANR-sensitive code.
Version 1.3.0 attached. Proper IntentServices for process control, and notification on upgrade / loss of root / autostart failure.
Version 1.2.9 attached. Yet another update to the upgrade/autostart code.
Version 1.2.8 attached. Asynchronous startup of rngd during boot; this should solve the remaining autostart problems some users have reported.
Version 1.2.7 released. This version introduces a much more efficient suspend-on-sleep mode for rngd.
Version 1.2.6 released. This version reverts the suspend-on-sleep rngd change which may have been contributing to new latency. I'm sorting out a better way of implementing it.
Version 1.2.5 released. This version should fix the autostart failure some users have seen.
Version 1.2.4 released. This version implements a progress bar displaying your currently available entropy, as well as automatic rngd restart on upgrade.
Version 1.2 released. This version implements rngd suspend-on-sleep, and contains minor user interface updates, more robust process and superuser checks, and a new icon (thanks Nathanel!)
Version 1.1 released. This version uses the release signature, so you will need to uninstall the old XDA version first!
Download and flash this if you dont know what to download xD Click here!
if this really works... wow
then it should be included in all custom ROMs from now on and a patch merged into AOSP
Holy crap dude! Using it now on my Gnex. Gunna give a few to see if it really does increase performance. As far as I can tell since installation scrolling in tapatalk has increased tenfold.

Would you mind doing me a quick favor? The permissions look a little different in ES File explorer. Would you install it, navigate to the different files, long press, properties, and select permissions and grab a screen shot?
I don't feel any improvements on my Nexus7, someone yes¿

Seems to work for me. Modern Combat 4 used to lag before, flashed this and played a match with no lag. You have my thanks

Nothing for me either and everytime I go into the app it shows it as off.
I flashed the CWM version because the app wouldn't stay on or switch on at boot. Haven't really noticed any difference yet, because I don't have any game that lags, including vice city on max settings, and I'm not over clocking yet either.
If MC4 has the occasional stutter then I'll try installing that and see.
Edit: forgot to mention, I also put it on my galaxy s1, and I can tell you that I do notice a definite difference on that.

UPDATED!!!!!!!!!!!- 3/13/14
No need to change any build prop or anything. Found a apk that has a MOD build right in!
To make our devices look like a nexus to Google wallet. Luv it !!!!
First I'll like to give credit to @loserskater for this MOD!!!
And who ever else helped with this..
Link to main thread HERE:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45899656
SO MAKE SURE YOU GO HERE^^^^^^^ AND THANK HIM FOR HIS WORK!!!!!
Install Instructions:
Pre Install
Push/copy the modified nfcee_access.xml attached to this post to /system/etc
Make sure permissions are set correctly (644, rw-r--r--)
Reboot
OR
Open nfcee_access.xml and add the following line:
Code:
Reboot
New Install
Install the wallet apk like any other app. Do NOT push to /system/app
Upgrading from 1.x+
If you already have Wallet installed reset it (open Wallet>menu>Settings>Reset Google wallet)
Go to Wallet app settings (Settings>Application Manager>Wallet)
Force stop and Clear data
Using a file explorer with root access (Root Exlporer, Solid Explorer, etc.) go to /system/app
Remove all instances of wallet you may have (Wallet.apk, com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel*.apk)
Repeat steps 4 & 5 but go to /data/app
Reboot
Install the wallet apk like any other app. Do NOT push to /system/app
After you do the above Install method you'll get an error from Google.
Just because you get the Sign in error from Google. The App will still work with no issues. Its been confirmed by me!!!

com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel-2.0-R155-v14-MODDED.apk

Updates:
R151-v8: Now reports device as Nexus 4.
R151-v8-update: Big changes! New install process. For some reason adding loyalty cards with the camera would not work as a system app. So I had to re-sign the apk with my own private key, that way it can be installed as a user app. But because of the new signature, it had to be added to nfcee_access.xml so make sure you update that as well!
.
Issues:
R151-v8: Adding loyalty cards causes a FC. To get around this you can install the stock app, add the loyalty cards and then install this modified version.
Install the udpate
Downloads:
com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel-2.0-R133-v9-MODDED.apk
com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel-2.0-R133-V14-MODDED.apk
com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel-2.0-R141-V14-MODDED.apk
com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel-2.0-R151-v8-MODDED.apk
THE ABOVE^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ APK MUST BE "PUSHED" INTO YOUR SYSTEM WITH SOME TYPE OF ROOT EXPLORER. AFTER PUSHING IN INTO YOUR SYSTEM FIX PERMISSIONS TO:
RW-R-R
Updates:
R151-v8: Now reports device as Nexus 4.
.
Issues:
R151-v8: Adding loyalty cards causes a FC. To get around this you can install the stock app, add the loyalty cards and then install this modified version.
Above^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ issue is solved by doing the New install Method!!!!
AFTER DOING THE STEPS ABOVE, THEN REBOOT BACK INTO RECOVERY, FLASH THE NFC FIX FILE. REBOOT SET UP WALLET APP AND ENJOY PAYING WITH YOUR PHONE!!!!!
Just noticed that Google Wallet was updated TODAY and I decided to try it on this 4.3 ROM. Found in the play store HERE
With the new MOD for Google wallet. Located above in the OP!!!
You can now flash the new NFC fix that @loserskater made:thumbup:.
That will give you they option for TAP and PAY feature...

Did it work at the store using nfc? Cause they said it won't. Read the link.
It's also worth noting that according to AllThingsD, this new Google Wallet app will be made available to AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon customers. Wallet is currently only supported by Sprint and a handful of smaller U.S. operators, something that's likely held back Wallet's adoption rate. Unfortunately, it's said that AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon subscribers will not be able to use Google Wallet to make in-store payments using NFC.

Try v1, v2 seems to be borked.
Full disclosure, but I'm intoxicated at the moment. Anyway, I greatly appreciate this. I haven't had Netflix working in quite awhile. I tried other method but was still having problems. Perhaps I wasn't getting the permissions right. I tried flashing version 2. It kept failing. I just now tried version 1 after you mentioned version 2 wasn't working right. I still had issues at first. I was just about to give up hope, and assume that my device hated me, but I messed around with the permissions once more, and... Eureka. It works great. So, really, thanks.

This just makes my netflix app crash at launch. Any way to uninstall the zip again?
EDIT: Just went to system/etc/init.d with root explorer and changed permissions to the same as the other files in that folder. Still crashes at launch.

Thanks for the replies. I can still watch movies on my bus rides using the older apk, though it would be nice with the updated functionality of the new one. I spoke with netflix support. The supporter first told me how much he loved my phone and CM and then told me it was no problem at all. I just had to revert to the original firmware of my phone, and everything should be hunky dory. Thanks for the help netflix!?

And here we have a perfect example of how useless customer support usually is
I have issues with Netflix also on my home built OmniROM for Asus TF101 tablet. The 98netflix script used to work like a charm, persisting through reboots and Netflix app restarts. Since the last 2 or 3 Netflix updates though I found that if I change the player type in the script to "10" and reboot, then Netflix app will start up fine and let me watch videos. If I stop the video, then back out to the main Netflix screen, the app force closes and any attempts to restart it result in the usual force close. If I reboot or manually rerun the script (with the "10" values) from a terminal as su, then Netflix is partially fine again, until I back out of the app or close it. It's like settings aren't being saved and I can verify that the nfx_preferences are changed at boot to reflect the player type before staring the Netflix app, but are gone after Netflix has ran. My hardware is Tegra 2 10.1" tablet for what it is worth.

This script is basically telling netflix to use a different mode than what it thinks is best for your device. I think the new netflix apps might be checking that mode on exit and overwriting the changes made by the script (which runs at boot).
You could set a shortcut to the script in your application drawer and run it after exiting netflix.
Is there any news on solve the problem? Is there a new script? Netflix is great, but I hate get back to stock rom for use it :´(

We fixed it for Asus tf101 Tegra 2 tablet. It seems to survive updates to Netflix so far, but is Tegra 2 specific.
