I have a epic touch on boost mobile on FC 14 MIJJz BLEND ICS v2.3. my question is what would happen if i flash the new fc18 modem will any of my settings break?

i have a epic 4gt on boostmobile with blazer rom 4.0 but every time i flash any ics rom my 3g gets messed up i tried everything to get it to work i used qpst to reload my settings but that doesn't fix anything...do you mind telling me they way you flash your rom or is it just the regular way from cwm or one click... Can you tell me your settings on qpst so that i can compare them to mine

yea all i do to flash a new rom is through recovery i havnt had to use qpst. only to try out other prl's. i only change the mms settings when i reflash it.u havent tried flashing a modem?

The answer is probably for me.. . Yea i did the apn settings but it didn't help its like there's something in the rom that's stoping the data from being received cause it shows the 3g but when i open up applanet it connects with no problems so i don't know what to do....... Yes i flashed every modem out there but it doesn't help im probably going to reflash my phone to boost again to see if that helps
Flashing a modem/kernel/rom through cwm or odin should not touch your meid or ha/aaa hex keys needed for 3g data.
That's the thing it doesn't all my settings are the same in qpst after i flash but it just doesn't connect to the Internet but like i said when I open applanet it connects with no problems so im thinking that its some setting in the browser or some where else that doesn't let the browser connect

His problem comes from any ICS rom for some reason, but since you're running fine on FC14 now, any update should be fine, especially since the modem itself changes nothing but the baseband and is compatible with any rom.
Right my 3g works fine with any rom just not ics roms

just use the OG epic guide and all works fine or they recently posted an E4GT guide.

i know my msl code already and put it on but it says wrong code. it works with ##3282# but not ##debug#

As soon as I got the phone I rooted and flashed starburst I immediately had los issues it got so bad at work I had to reboot 8 times a day. I was about to go back to stock whenI got the idea to completely reinstall the rom and then flash the modem and......it worked absolutely no more los. I am currently running star burst no issues

where is the modem, i just had 2 LOS after 2 days witout one, it always happens at my gf house, she has the airave and i think it can not connect looses signal and LOS.
Maybe it is a sign from the android gods to break up with her lol

When u flash through odin there are pit, pda, phone csc etc. You havent use odin have u?
You can only flash .tar files in PDA, those are your standard set of files (ffs,data,cache,modem,kernel,etc).
You can flash .bin files only under PHONE.

Oh forgot....sorry. Thought you where trying to flash a PDA phone lmao Yea used odin until lostkernal was born. And pushed files through ADB.

hey guys i am trying to flash my samsung epic 4g to cricket i am bouncing between prl 38515 and 42700 and i can get 3g to work for a lil bit till i reboot the phone than every setting under ##3282# reverts back to not set and i lose everything also when i try to make calls i get either the phone is not authorized to make calls or to make a collect call message i called tech support and they said my account is good and they refreshed it and my esn is set on the account fine that there was something wrong with the flashing
i am using gingerbread eg22 v 2.3.4 rooted with cwm 3.1 and su privileges and when i set the settings under ##3282# there is no done option to save the settings so do i just use the back button to save the settings? and im using qpst v2.7 build 355 to flash the phone im about to try cdma workshop and see if it makes a difference
any help is greatly appreciated

im trying to find the list of commands for cyanogen mod that will let me switch the usb and uart from pda to modem and how to get into the username data window so i can adjust my settings but i am looking everywhere and cant find anything can anyone help?

You need to Odin back to stock, you can't use 8778 on none of the custom ROMs. So flash to stock, make sure you can call out and everything with cricket then flash the cm7 or cm9s cricket roms.

That's not true. You can flash most TW ROMs and have access to dialer codes.

Works fine on TPR and Cut n paste. I thought they worked with temp kexec boot from sd card rom too. All depends on if the dev debloats too much.

Yep definitely works just fine on the kexec stock rom also... pretty much any tw rom allows those codes...

Not to insult your intelligence, just trying to help, but is your 3g/4g toggled to on in your settings and or pulldown? And try flashing stock jellybean Rom and modem and update your prl and profile(unless you've done that already)

I haven't messed with Metro since last year when I set up my wife with my a Sprint S2 on Caulkins ROM. I recall having to mess with setting manual APN settings to get data to work.
Is that still the case with these newer roms?

Not really, APN settings these days are usually in regards to getting MMS to work. I do recall losing my Metro flash while flashing ROM's around on my Droid 2 back in the day. Not sure if there's any situation in which the Metro flash could possibly be wiped with the Epic 4g Touch but that might be a thought to keep in mind. Good luck!

I wasn't hesitant to flash a different ROM because someone assisted me that they have flashed ROMs over their sprint to cricket flash BUT, the guy at cricket told me that if I factory reset my phone or reset, the cricket flash won't work no more. Is this true? Has anyone had complications ?

Well I know on my S3 factory reset will not have me lose root, or the current ROM I'm using. You'll still be on the same ROM. Just default settings. Like it was when you first flashed the ROM. Then again I could be totally wrong on your question.

The guy at Cricket is misinformed. My S3 is flashed to cricket( very easy flash by the way) and I flash ROMs a lot never a problem

So I system wiped my whole phone, and installed the PAC-Rom. I lost my APN settings and can't connect or have a signal. I tried going to the APN settings>menu>reset to default then rebooted phone but still won't work, any help?

If you don't wanna do that there is another modem flasher ONLY for sprint I don't have the link but you can Google it. Its one zip you flash via recovery and the aroma installer comes up and you can flash any radio up to lf9
