It works normally for me, let check background data traffic in settings/application&sync ?

You'll probably find it is set up to high and is killing the background services hence no notifications.
You may have to play with the settings a bit.
I personally don't use any memory management scripts.
I found them to cause more bad than good. but each to there own. There are a few threads about setting up supercharger. Maybe try looking them up.
Pvy.

Hi, I have little problem. I see my facebook messenger has no popup notifiactions. I must go to app and than I see messages. I think yesterday it worked but today nothing.

It might be a problem with the app itself or with the service. I'm using kernel + ROM with Supercharger script and Fb chat and it's normal messenger are working fine for me.

Keep app open?

Hello guys, I was wondering how I can block applications in memory, because I keep facebook messenger open to receive notifications in real time, or at least open it immediately.
So go with a launcher that can be done, but I would use another launcher .. how can I do?
Thanks to all!
If you want to stop Fb messenger from closing use Zep's supercharger script and bulletproof it.

no Facebook notifications :-(

Hi together,
Within Facebook I configured an auto-sync and receive notifications but I do not get them :-(
tried already to de-install and install but did not help.

Does it work for anybody?
Thanks and cheers,

The memory settings are quite aggressive on sense, its likely killing facebook service.

by default sense has very aggressive memory management meanng it will close apps quite quickly there are some app on play and as a mod on the forums, to improve it.
but before that have you tried unticking and reticking the box? clearing cache/data of FB or reinstalling it?
I have no memory management tweaks and i am getting them just fine :/

Does nobody else face this issue? :-( Do you get FB notifications in your taskbar?
cheers,

I don't get them either, but I didn't get them on the SGS2 either, so not sure if I'm supposed to get them.
I get a notification via tapatalk though when someone sends me a private message. - so, not every process gets killed.

What kind of notifications do you miss?
Perhaps you should activate them yourself, on your fb groups you should visit the group and turn on notifications to get them, for IM you game messenger perhaps (no problem there I think?)
You can also check the refresh interval @settings on your Facebook app if it is high then you won't get notifications so often.

where to check - within the app or within FB itself?
This is an Android issue....the only way I solved it myself was get access to a blackberry (yeah I know) or the virtual Blackberry software for windows.
Once logged in to Facebook log straight back out, you only need it for a minute, then go to Facebook on a PC, account settings and then apps I believe, in there somewhere will be Facebook for Blackberry, allow this access and that's it!
Its a bit fiddly but it solved it for me!
If you Google the right thing you will find a step by step guide, sorry I did this a year ago, so its all from memory :-\

I can confirm this. When I was still using my Galaxy S2 and lacked notifications for Facebook, I used the virtual blackberry software for windows from the RIM site, and logged in on facebook with that to fix the problem. It's been mentioned a few times before.
this is an well-known issue and affecting majority of Android devices, there are two workarounds
1. use MB Notifications for Facebook from Android Market
2. try the Blackberry FB tricks here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386394
I used the 2nd method and it works like a charm

Or use Friendcaster (or Friendcaster Pro) from the market.
I get all notifications with no problem by using this app and it has a push setting too (although it is still a bit buggy atm)

Yep i tried the 2nd method as well about three days ago and now works perfectly.
Pretty roundabout method but it works
Hi,
Many thanks for this BB workaround - I tried it and it works

[Q] Applications hogging the RAM

I'm running CM9 by Arco and the main problem that I have is a shortage of RAM. I don't really want to swap roms, but what I would like to do is remove applications that I'm not running from the RAM. Facebook, for example, isn't set to provide any notifications, isn't running, has been cleared from the recent apps, and is still taking up 30MB of RAM. aCalendar is another - it's one of two 3rd party calendar apps that I run and is the only one that is constantly taking up ram.
Any ideas?
I looked into an app that would periodically clear out the RAM, but this took up 30MB of RAM itself! So there wasn't really any point. What is the reason that Facebook is constantly taking up RAM?
Edit:
DSPManager is another example, and so is 'Google Messaging'. Can I do without them?

Greenify is what you are looking for, but it only hybernates installed apps, not system apps. So for example facebook and your aCalendar. However some of the system apps you do not need like for example the dspmanager or google talk, you can deactivate in settings->apps.

Greenify seems absolutely spot on so far, thank-you very much. Noticeable difference in performance.

Greenify is still doing a great job. Is there a way of blocking DSP manager and Google Messaging though? I presume that Google Messaging is only used by the Google Hangouts app, which I never use.

Don´t know about Google Messaging but the apps you don´t want tu use you can simply deactivate in Settings-> Apps. Click on the app you want to deactivate and launch the deactivate button. Just be careful about deactivating system apps and google a bit if it´s save to deactivate a certain app. You for sure can deactivate CM-Updater, Google Talk or Hangouts, the Apollo app if you prefer to use an other app and for example the DSP-Manager.
Edit: DSP-Manager can´t be deactivated this way. You have to use root explorer and either rename it by adding for example .bak behind it or to delete it. By using a custom Kernel with incrased audio volume, you will probably anyway not need the DSP-Manager.

Thx for the help
Might be something like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29369439&postcount=4
It can be any program that is not closed properly (eg. running in the background), like Youtube.
Does it also occur when your device is rebooted and NO program is started? (See in the apps listing which apps are running right after resetting)
it is manifested even when the device has just been restarted. I try to freeze youtube and see how it goes?
Does anyone know a program to check if the battery is still working?
Hi. Maybe try to untick conversation tones (notifications) in whatsapp.

Try to use Greenify. That'll stop programmes from restarting.
As has been said that particular wake lock is an app that hasn't closed Properly.
When I get it I terminate apps one by one each time going back to bbs hitting refresh to see if the wakelock has stopped increasing. When it does I know that's the app I need to greenify.

thx for explain.
Last night as I needed the phone fully functional, I 've formatted. I will update if the problem recurs and if I were to do only 3 hours of screen on. If greenefy will install (I have to buy it or even the free version is fine?)
Thank you.

I use the free version. It is a very good app. Make sure you delete all sounds within the phone settings as well. Such as tts, keyboard sounds/vibrations etc.

what I meant is that I don't see the unread count on the icon itself. I only saw appeared on FB/Phone icon but not others.
