In order to provide enthusiasts with recent improvements made to Snapdragon's Adreno graphics drivers, Qualcomm has made the updated Adreno 2xx graphics driver binaries available here. Note that you will most likely need to be a developer to take advantage of these new drivers since they'll require integration with the CAF release of ICS, but Qualcomm is providing these driver binaries "as is" to those of you who have requested them.

Just gave it a try with latest dk_zero_cool-rom. Took the files from the package and pushed them to the appropriate places. System came up, but running chrome seems more buggy than with the old version. There seem to be lots of locking and out-of-memory exceptions. will give tiamats latest kernel a try now...
Update: no luck with Tiamat_Bravo-v031412 as well. I've attached a logcat if anyone is interested in looking at this

I suspect that just pushing the files directly might be buggy, people will probably find that with roms will need to be recompiled against these binaries to get the most out of them. Could well be wrong mind you but certainly think wuld be the most logical step

I'm not sure if a simple recompile will help. These are all dynamic modules, as far as I understand this it shouldn't make much difference. especially since the package doesn't contain any headers but just the libs and some firmware.

I'm pretty sure atleast kernel has to be "reworked" for new drivers.

I wouldn't bet one euro on that! Legendary Qualcomm

While this is better than nothing, let's first give the talented devs at XDA a crack at this before passing judgment. Hopefully once they work their magic, we can get a more polished product in a shorter timeframe.
I'll be impressed if ICS can be implemented on the desire as well as gingerbread was. Let's not forget that the desire launched with Android 2.1 (maybe even 2.0 in some areas?) if I'm not mistaken.

Well I be damned...

Hardware acceleration for the Incredible

According to my research (read: Wiki-wandering), the Incredible has an Adreno 200 GPU. I'm curious as to the existence of a hardware-accelerated driver and matching libgl.so (not sure if a special libgl is necessary, but I know that nVidia and ATI do it for their proprietary drivers on Linux), and if it doesn't exist, where would be a good place to start learning about how to write it myself. Any help would be appreciated.
I could be mistaken here, but since the Adreno 200 is also in the HTC Nexus One, wouldn't using those drivers be sufficient?

Yes, same GPU. Don't know if those drivers will work or not, however. Worth a shot.
This would be great

[Q] Help with 3D Drivers

Hi guys!!!
Im older user from HTC mobile, now I buy a new phone more chip, and won a new problems!
Srs., I've looking for features about my mobile (it is Motorola SPICE XT300), and this model only sell in Brazil / Canada / Argentina / Australia (i guess).
Looking in the website (gsmarena) I found the features about my phone, and its is the same about the Wildfire. look:
Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair)
CPU 528 MHz ARM 11 processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm MSM7225 chipset
So i heard about this model dont have a drivers for this chipset, cause i dont know, but motorola dont make this drivers. So i hear some people try porting other driver from this chipset in this model but its very very dificult found news about this. I have some helps from neopeek and other forums, here too, about porting this drivers.
So, this driver i guess stay in /system/lib/****.so - my question is, somebody knows how install the 3D driver for this chipset? If i download a CUSTOM ROM here, try to copy/paste in the same location those files could work? Please guys help me, I dont wanna lose my phone but dont wanna use without graphics (by the way its f**king bad do anything, its slow any apps who needs).
So any news about this? anything? some developer could help me? any one?
Thx guys, c ya ...
gsmarena has the specs of the wildfire wrong, it doesn't have a gpu
Pdadb should be better. If you have the msm 7225 then there is no gpu. The best way to check is run nenamark. If it gets 1fps then there is no gpu. If it gets 30-60 fps then there is a gpu

this was well known from the start. next time read the information that is available EVERYWHERE before buying it!
Nevertheless, the Wildfire is still a great phone, I'm loving it! Never regret it for a minute.

+1 for that
It's a great phone athough it doesnt have GPU. And i dont know what people expect for such a low price...lol I think there is no better phone for that money.
The ZTE Blade is a better option now however before that was released the Wildfire was very good value.

Seconded. At today's price point, there are much better phones than the Wildfire out there. But, ~6 months back, really, Wildfire was the only option if you wanted a budget Android, which is why, I am a bit disillusioned, but will continue to faithfully stick with my Wildfire.
I agree that now there are better phones in that price range. But look at the time when wildfire is released, almost a year ago and still it can compete. You must agree that even few months is relatively big period not to mention a whole year.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
Good value? Yeah, maybe the first days of release, but it didn't take long for alot more valuable phones came along. All HTC phones is overpriced, and now with locked bootloaders, useless. Only reason I got it was becouse, at the time, it was the cheapest with a LED flashlight. If I only waited for the Defy instead, same price-range, but oh so much better phone on ALL fronts.
Ok guys! but the question its not about the wildfire, its is about this Motorola Spice..
So ok, i learn the Wildfire dont have gpu ok ...
So somebody have the nenamark.apk to install ? I just found the .zip file and I dont know how to install this on mobile.
I gonna make the test with this bench, cause if i got more then 1fps i have a gpu .. if not, i dont have and i guess this thread is closed.
Any one know something about this specific model? C ya.

Any chance to see meego 1.2 hummingbird ??

I want to ask developers, if there's any chance to port meego 1.2 hummingbird that is now installed on new nokia n9, it's really great and with "ALIEN DALVIK" it can run native android applications !!!!!!!!!!!!
Why ? To run apps which use hummingbird cpu ?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
nope, hummingbird is the codename ... the nokia n9 has just an arm v7 cpu (cortex a8) and has this version of meego 1.2 and it runs great!
apart from this
with the application "alien dalvik" meego os is capable of running android apps
with full support!!!
Would wanna see it! It's gonna be so awesome! I know our dev teams can do it!
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
you should just search for nokia n9 on youtube .. it's awesome and the awesome thing as i wrote b4 is that every arm v7 could have this os ... the problem is (as always) in the drivers ... anyway check the nokia n9 specs ... the gpu and processor have nothing special .. arm cortex a8 1ghz gpu powervr sgx530
It seems the meego to Desire has been bubbling around for sometime, not sure about the hummingbird version though. I think any new port to the desire keeps it fresh and interesting but devs are just getting on with the 2.3 recent release to get it running perfectly on desire. It would be interesting to see this on a desire. There are a couple of videos floating about claiming meego is running on the Desire but I'm not entirely convinced. This would be an interesting port.

It's great ... we should ask developers!!!!
on this link there are some information for the porting only 1.1 version but ... better than nothing

[LINK] Ask Qualcomm to release Adreno 200 drivers with hardware acceleration

I bumped into this and didn't find any threads on xda so I decided to share. Register and tell Qualcomm what you think. Let them know there are quite many users who want their Desire to have hardware accelerated UI.

[Q] Adreno 2xx driver update

Hello,
On another forum i found this link to Qualcomm's website and there was a discussion about the usability of ICS drivers for the adreno 2xx posted there on march 13th.
So my question: I'm running Andomedus v13 and I wonder if it would make the graphics driver more up to date? If i'm right the vision uses the adreno 205 GPU, so it would be compatible? Or is it just Developer related?
Thanks!

That is for devs only, you couldn't just lift the driver and put it in yourself. But it is invaluable stuff for devs to cook into their roms.
