I don't really get the difference between Sense 3.6 and 4.0, only thing that I see is that Sense 3.6 is a 3.5 with a dock and toggles, and 4.0 being a major overhaul.
Both are running over ICS, of course.
But going by that train of taught, there would not be any performance difference between 3.5 and 3.6, as opposed to what HTC have said about 4.0.
So, does 3.6 have any links with 4.0, or is it just 3.5 with a pretty face?
Sense 3.6's intent was to update to ICS, yet to preserve the Sense 3.x layout users were accustomed to.
I had a look between Sense 3.0 and Sense 3.6 benchmarks and 3.6 was a bit faster, but that's about it. I'm not sure about memory consumption but it'd probably spend similar amounts.
To me, atleast, there's no point in using sense 3.6, as it seems like it's pretty much like sense 3.5 , just compiled for ICS. sense 4.0 is the way to go IMO
HTC themselves said Sense 4 would be lighter than previous generations simply because of the fact that Sense became heavier and heavier as time passed.
Good to see they finally reacted and fixed things.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using Tapatalk
Yes, I understood that Sense 4.0 is lighter than 3.0
But 3.6 blew me. I see it as a Sense 3.5 with a dock slapped to it.
But that's what it was intended to be?

That has been alpha build for a while now and there are sever other builds here. I haven't had much success with any of the ICS / Sense builds with H/W keyboard issues being the main failing. Can you recommend any ICS / Sense roms that don't have that issue?
It's been barely two weeks ever since the devs started working on those. Currently there's no rom that has this fixed, but it will be adressed soon.

Qualcomm has released an upgrade for Adreno 200 GPUS. I can't speak personally on the source as this is secondhand to me. But I've flashed it and i personally got a 40 point jump for 3d in antutu AND you can feel the smoothness.
This has been confirmed to work on all SENSE ROMS for WFS besides InfraROM. (Turkish RUU mod I believe)
DO NOT FLASH ON CM7. It handles the gpu differently and will do the exact opposite of what you want.
This is a driver upgrade for the chip itself and as such SHOULD work on all ROMs. Confirmed not working on most cm7.- roms.
(Don't be dumb, BACKUP).
Just flash like any other zip, no wipes required.
Oh, and I don't need anyone talking about how this could be a placebo effect or something (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525759) as I've tried this myself and have gotten real results.
Also, I know VERY little about this other than it works. If you have info that is relevant to the source or you have confirmed it to NOT work on something other than CM7, feel free to PM me.
Big Thanks to jonhaney over at unleashedprepaids for letting me know about this.

Wow, maybe I can play Modern Combat and Asphalt now?

It's working perfect on beta 1.3 .sense

BTW, thank you, I'll try with Sense 3.5 ROM later...
I've flashed this on m1ndh4x8r GB2.3.5 ROM and it's certainly no placebo. 2D is not affected but 3D had an obvious improvement.
I got a nice boost on Quadrant 3D tests and Antutu 3D too.
Tested it before flashing and got 500-515 max. on Antutu. I forgot to take some screenshots on Quadrant and Antutu before flashing but I'm pretty sure of the results.
Now I got my best Antutu bench result EVER!

So I have run Skyraider almost exclusively for several months, and I am getting a little bored. I use to run INC2HD, but I'm not in love with 3.5. Don't hate it, just don't love it. I love the idea of running ICS, but the idea of not having a fully working phone bugs me. Any good ROM ideas? I'm pretty much open to anything. If you're using a theme, especially for CM7 or MIUI, let me know. I've never found a CM7 theme I really liked. Thanks.

Just remmber that if you root it and install a rom that the warranty will be voided and you wont be able to send it in to get fixed!

Huh. Weird. Never knew that. Good thing I didn't root it last August and haven't been flashing ROMs, making a theme, and writing rooting guides since. And to the other guy, thanks. But do you have any good ideas for themes for CM7?
I wish someone would take the sense 2.1 theme I use called PCB sense and turn it into a cm7 theme. It looks like electrical circuits on the status bar and menus and stuff.

I love miui because you can flash multiple themes at once. For instance, my dialer is themed with one theme, which is different from my main theme, and my icons are from another theme. It's really great.

Right now I am having an issue choosing between Magnolia 2.1.1, BinDroid RUNMED2.5, and Coredroid ... They are all great, themed as much as possible.. functioning and smooth as silk!! I can't decide so I may run each one for 3 or 4 days, then install another..
LOL, I don't like the theming on Bindroid and CoreDroid
I love liquid smooth over on rootz, based on latest cm7, but with even more options, out comes themed to look kinda like ics, I use it with launcher pro which it comes with, I know is out of date, but I have yet to find another launcher as quick and snappy and I've tried them all. Of you do use this Rom and want to mess with voltages, you'll need to install aero s .8cfs kernel, all other kernels break sound, out also comes with is own overclock app. I also like sabatoge sense, is stockish (based on 2.1) with sense 3 beauty added... And both the roms are the fastest of their kind in my opinion.

All AOSP rom kernels have a multi-touch issue that can be rather annoying. Yet I can recommend Condemned's 7.2 KANG as a good AOSP rom.
I just installed TSM Trinity because of the mutli-touch problems with AOSP. So far the rom is awesome!
As for ICS, AOKP and MIUI ICS ports are semi-functional and are cool to check out.
Happy flashing.

Now, I've seen that HTC will going to give us a new smartphone for medium class, with SENSE 4 and ICS.
I think that when her source code is released we can start to port it, because have really similr specifications like on our phone.
- CPU Snapdragon 1 at 600 MHz (I imagine that's downclocked, but ours is Snapdragon MSM7227)
- Screen at 3.5 (320x480)

That's hard to say because it's all very subjective. One person may prefer one ROM release over another.
A good bet is the IceCold AOKP or SlimICS ROM .. or ... the CyanogenMod 9 Beta 2 ROM by tbalden or TripNRaver's CM9 release.
You have to try them all and see which one you like best. This is a very subjective matter.
I recommend using Android revolution and then running rom cleaner no-sense, it removes most of sense and keeps the best bits

There currently is a Jellybean AOSP rom available, there's just a few things that are currently not working atm.
If you want to maximize everything that works you'd want to try:
Jdr0id's rom
Renovate
ViperX
Venomous beatmod
ARHD
If you really want to go aosp id say:
paranoidandro
SlimICS
Cm9
That's probably the best ones I've tried but pure aosp roms have alot of thing not working so go for a less-sensed roms for now.
Just my opinion
Typed with XDA Premium on OneX
I've just tried a launcher and its seems faster already, I know this doesnt kill all the sense crap but has helped a fair bit.
I say every time I get a phone I won't mod it but everytime I am drawn to the idea if only they had made the galaxy nexus the same spec as the one x and s3 oaf have bought that and not had this dilemma

What's different? Any improvements? Have they increased bitrate/fps on it?
Just because it's from sense 4.5, doesn't mean that there are any changes to the actual camera app.
