Cool ROMs? - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

So I have run Skyraider almost exclusively for several months, and I am getting a little bored. I use to run INC2HD, but I'm not in love with 3.5. Don't hate it, just don't love it. I love the idea of running ICS, but the idea of not having a fully working phone bugs me. Any good ROM ideas? I'm pretty much open to anything. If you're using a theme, especially for CM7 or MIUI, let me know. I've never found a CM7 theme I really liked. Thanks.

Rom
Just remmber that if you root it and install a rom that the warranty will be voided and you wont be able to send it in to get fixed!

pretty sure he knew that running skyraider... anyway, Miui, and any aosp variant are always good choices. I know you said no 3.5 roms but, magnolia is pretty damn good also.

Huh. Weird. Never knew that. Good thing I didn't root it last August and haven't been flashing ROMs, making a theme, and writing rooting guides since. And to the other guy, thanks. But do you have any good ideas for themes for CM7?

I wish someone would take the sense 2.1 theme I use called PCB sense and turn it into a cm7 theme. It looks like electrical circuits on the status bar and menus and stuff.

I love miui because you can flash multiple themes at once. For instance, my dialer is themed with one theme, which is different from my main theme, and my icons are from another theme. It's really great.

Right now I am having an issue choosing between Magnolia 2.1.1, BinDroid RUNMED2.5, and Coredroid ... They are all great, themed as much as possible.. functioning and smooth as silk!! I can't decide so I may run each one for 3 or 4 days, then install another..

LOL, I don't like the theming on Bindroid and CoreDroid

I love liquid smooth over on rootz, based on latest cm7, but with even more options, out comes themed to look kinda like ics, I use it with launcher pro which it comes with, I know is out of date, but I have yet to find another launcher as quick and snappy and I've tried them all. Of you do use this Rom and want to mess with voltages, you'll need to install aero s .8cfs kernel, all other kernels break sound, out also comes with is own overclock app. I also like sabatoge sense, is stockish (based on 2.1) with sense 3 beauty added... And both the roms are the fastest of their kind in my opinion.

I think 12.9 MIUI is the last good version. As far as CM7 themes, take a look at BluMagic. He also has red, black, and green themes.

yes 12.9 is last fully working miui an it runs flawless with extened settings an has longest battery life of any rom,

All AOSP rom kernels have a multi-touch issue that can be rather annoying. Yet I can recommend Condemned's 7.2 KANG as a good AOSP rom.
I just installed TSM Trinity because of the mutli-touch problems with AOSP. So far the rom is awesome!
As for ICS, AOKP and MIUI ICS ports are semi-functional and are cool to check out.
Happy flashing.

[Q] Top Epic Roms

Just curious so if anyone wants to chime in please do ok ive noticed since the last month or so there seems to be 2 roms that stay updated and the most popular which are Calk and StrongSteves and he uses Calk's as base so my question is has anyone tried both and came to any honest conclusions on which is better and if Strong Steves just a themed version of Calk's
I have been extremely happy with Calk. Great battery life and speed.
If you like battery life, check this out;

I was waiting to hear which rom was the best, 4g is a must. Im looking for a rom where everything works, no fc or reboots. a rom that has been used or at least ten days without problems. I just got the epic touch, still have my old epic and I have flashed my old one many of times. Many of great roms but ater a couple of days the fc or reboot, trying my best to avoid that. So If I have to I will wait as long as I need to for a nicely tweak new rom. I have read and strong steve looks and sound really nice along with tnz blend, any help on the matter. Any truely daily drivers or do I need to wait, I cant wait to flash so someone help me out.

Daily driver plus tweaks ... Id say cauklins is most stable. Its a harder choice with these epic devs cus to be honest almost all these Roms are pretty damm solid for being a young phone. A lil better battery here, a lil better reception there...they're all pretty stablestable. Reboots stopped with the EK02 modem for me. And the only fc I've had is between zeam and my pandora folder. But zeam fixed it.
Coming from the HTC hero and the OGepic ...where there was a lot of test and error...were lucky to have some good smart seasoned devs on this phone...not to say they're decent ppl but they do decent work ;D memory leaks, LOS, reboots etc...get stomped out pretty fast.

To the OP; I would check out the Starburst ROM. The latest build makes it extremely easy to flash with CWM. It offers the best stock experience in my opinion. It's an absolutely flawless ROM which is basically a stock Epic ROM stripped down for speed. The most stable build has been out for over a month and it's made by one of the most respectable devs for the Epic.
There are some options for customization as well and you can flash the latest official kernel/modem for the phone. The ROM is 100% stable, I have been running it since I got my Epic and wouldn't run anything else.
It's not a flashy ROM however, I like the build, it's super fast and stable, all of what you are asking for.

Have you tried just using widgetlocker? I switched to it when I got the ET and I love it. The integration with screebl pro is amazing. Once you've switched to a screebl/widgetlocker combo, you will be unable to stand not having it. Best 5 bucks I've ever spent on my phone ($2 for screebl/$3 for widgetlocker)
Yeah I used widget locker for some time but the issue with that is it acts like an application not a lock screen.

You may want to try TNz Blend with the optional TSM parts. I've been running it for a few days now and it's an excellent ROM. I'm a bit surprised it doesn't get more attention honestly. I'd say it's a bit of a sleeper hit. Not to mention the huge selection of themes available and they keep coming. It sounds like it would suit your needs if you want to give it a spin.

Quick question though... how's the performance on that rom?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I highly recommend Strong Steve's odexed Rom. It's fast, smooth, never had a crash or a random reboot and the battery life is great. I put Go launcher and Go locker on it with an ICS lockscreen. Lots of themes are available for Go launcher. Rujelus22's Blu Kuban Rom is nice too and has TSM parts already baked in so there's a bunch of different lockscreens to choose from. I kept getting hot reboots with it and some other users do as well so I switched to SS's.
Try GoLocker.
Use UnNamed ROM and add the transparent lock screen to it. Im never going to another ROM. It has all of the bells and whistles, but with a stock lock screen. Every single ROM that has the lock mod on it has problems. I can vouch that it gives random reboots, lock screen ring changes colors on honeycomb, and the theming needs some major work. But that is just my opinion. Never knew I would've liked the transparent look.

why not get a lockscreen app for the lockscreen? I personally am on:
Calks v2.8.1
rogue kernel 1.4.1 (1.5 hitman would not OC for me)
EL29 Modem
and I have absolutely no issues.. Ive tried MiUi, blazer, strongsteves rom, and pretty much every rom in the development section with different kernels and even tested the quadrant scores, different OC settings, and calks beat them all hands down.. I notice a lot of devs on here share, if you notice Calkulin is everywhere!

He could start with FE07 leak. It's ICS with TW and its pretty stable compared to some of the earlier leaks. It's an easy flash, too, thanks to sfhub's odin. You can find it in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1642564
That is a hard question to answer as everyone has a favorite for different reasons. They are all pretty stable. Calkulins E4GT 2 is one of the more stock looking with a few battery saving tweaks. Blend ICS "Goodness" has really nice themed ics look and has very similar tweaks. AOKP Roms are fairly stable abd have built in ROM Control which is very nice. I'm using HyDrA tablet hybrid ROM and its stable, but because of the dpi settings the market sees the phone as a tablet and you have to change your dpi to download regular apps from the market.

There are a number of really amazing ICS ROMs, Anakonda, Venum Ice, Nocturnal Venum, actually anything from Teams Nocturnal and Venum, also anything from Calkulin, agat63 has some really sweet, clean work as well and you can never go wrong with sfhub's one-clicks.
Another vote for fe07 leak then if your friend likes it send them here to figure it out on their own.
FE07 will be your best option for a beginner. Don't go to AOSP until source kernels are released. FE07 will be the most stable. CM9 is very stable too though.
Wow you guys are really far ahead. All we got is skyrocket ports and the tmo ics leak that just dropped lol. Kudos gents.

The reason for this is because of the kernel for ICS not being released from Samsung/Sprint yet. It's pretty simple to do all the regular CWM functionality on an ICS based ROM though - Use Odin (or highly recommended: Mobile Odin from the play store, which doesn't require a PC) and put the el26 CWM kernel on your phone (it's found many places, like the AOKP OP for example). It wont boot up with this kernel so just boot into recovery and from there you can backup, flash themes, wipe things, and then to get back to your ROM simply flash an AOSP tweaked kernel - also readily available (in AOKP OP again).
Certainly a few more steps than we were used to on GB Roms but it's totally worth it to me. ICS is a massively better experience for me so the few hoops to jump through are worth it. When that source kernel hits (any day now) it will be the land of milk and honey.

there are many. its all personal preference. I don't know about purple roms but there is Blu Kuban, stable, good battery life from what I've seen.
M'ICS is stable more of a teal color rom. sleshepic's new kernel is very battery friendly. and HoOliGaN RoM is stable as well. Its a red color rom. Agat63 kernel is good on battery as well. you could run FF18 stock rooted with sleshepic's or agat's kernel with like Go Launcher and use a purple theme. I know they have one, search the market (go launcher themes). so its all up to you.
Someone just released a girly themed ICS not 3 days ago, aaaand found it.

I would recommend calkulins 4.0.4 rom. I get almost a full days battery life. Also run his battery saver script after applying the rom. I don't recall if its automatically applied.
Here's the rom:

I was going to recommend a rom, but then my eyes started to bleed from your all caps title.
