Anybody having roaming problems? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I just rooted my phone about 3 weeks ago and finally got CWM last night, but ever since I rooted my phone I get the beeping about twice a day Im roaming. I will be sitting here with perfect signal then all of sudden starts beeping that Im now roaming. I know the rooting has nothing to do with that its just a complete coindence since that time. I got the phone the day it came out and I have never had to get it replaced or even looked at I have never had the LOS, or any of those problems. Just wondering if anybody else is having roaming troubles? I have no custom rom or nothing just using ADW EX Im just rooted and now with CWM so hopefully I wouldnt have to unroot to take it in to get looked at for this.

Dropped calls every 10 seconds

Hello XDA'ers,
My girlfriends phone calls have been dropping on her all day, when she answers the phone, the call drops within 10 seconds. I tried helping her as much as I can over the phone since I am at work but still no help. She has stock root with Clockworkmod which was done about a month ago. She also told me that by accident she did an OTA update about last week then cancelled it half way because she remembered I told her not to do so. Thats where I think the problem COULD be at.
I already told her to update her PRL and Profile but no luck. I think I will reflash it when I get home or maybe flash a Rom for her, probably Sprint Lover Rom just to keep it standard. Any suggestions? Thanks in advanced
So I here at the house and my phone is doing the same now. Im figuring its a reception problem on Sprints behalf. DAMNN!

Call Reception problems...

Are any of you guys having any drop call issues? My SG2 shows 4 full bars of reception while on a call and the call goes silent for a few seconds before it drops. It does this at home, on the road and at work.
Funny story…last night while driving home from work, I kept the screen lit and talked on the phone using my jawbone Bluetooth. I watched the bars drop down to 1 even 0 at one point yet the call never dropped that time. Isn’t that ironic
Unfortunately for me, all of these areas I have trouble are dead in the middle of excellent tmobile 4G coverage. My old phones never had this issue (HTC Sensation, iphone 4 etc)in these same exact areas.
So far, I’ve spoken with 611 & had the local TMO store replace my sim card but the phone still drops calls.
Would hate to have to exchange it for a new one but it looks as if I have no choice. Are any of you guys having any reception issues? If so please use this space to talk about it
EDIT
In case anyone asks, I'm using the original sim card that came with the phone. TMO store also pulled another SG2 sim card out for me to swap last night but so far the problem still persists
it could be software related, or it might very well be a hardware issue
are you still on stock, or have you flashed anything yet?

I'm still running my stock rom. Sunday Night, I flashed the Odin root on the stock rom and ran that for two days. Afterwards I uninstalled the Odin root and went back to stock when I discovered the call drop issues in fear I'd have to return my phone back to the store.
Its been two days back on the stock unrooted rom and I'm still noticing the same reception issues.
For the root, I followed the instructions in this thread.
To unroot, I followed these instructions.
Everything went well in fact I'm using Galaxy S2 right now. Do you guys think this root could be the cause of my reception issue?

LOS - 46%

I know this use to be an issue with the Epic Touch - which I have, rooted, custom ROM and kernel - no issues anymore. But my girlfriend has the S2 on T-Mobile and she just started having this issue. I checked today and she had 46% of time without a signal. She was at work most of the day and I know she has good coverage there. Her Blackberry on T-Mobile never dropped calls when she was at work. If you toggle to Airplane mode and back, her signal comes back, but then goes to no bars in a little while. She is running full stock - she won't let me mess with it b/c I've had a few days where my Touch was acting goofy while I was testing ROMs.
So - any ideas on what is the issue?
Thanks.
Sounds like a single incident so I would have a warranty exchange.

Did she get her SIM card updated when she got the GS2? If she is still using the one from her Blackberry it won't always get the best reception in some cases.
she got her phone on her own so I don't know if she is using the same SIM card but I think so. That's worth a try though, I'll check with T-Mobile tomorrow.

[Q] can you help with loss of signal

hello...i bought my sprint sg2 and had it activatde on verizon. i didnt feel comfortable doing it myself so i paid a guy on ebay to do it remotely. shortly after i noticed i would lose the signal. I would have the 4 bars with a triangle then it would go to the circle with the line through it. i rooted it using a method i found here that wasnt suppose to change anything other than rooting the phone. i contacted the seller and he did something to it; said it was fixed and blamed it on me rooting the phone.
the phone is still rooted but i havent done anything else and im still having the same problem. my gf called me several times and the phone never rang, i was sending her a texts around the same time so im not sure if thats a problem with verizon or not.
yesterday i couldnt keep a signal. i would have to call her back and would experience the same problem with my signal. this has occurred in places where i normally get a signal.
im not sure what to do...and help would be appreciated. do i need to change a prl or something?
Try different modem, if you have rooted your phone why don't you try custom Roms. They are far faster n all bloat free.

Thanks for your reply. To be honest Im scared. I had a captivate and had no problem doing it but the thing with bricking the phone seems to be more prevelant. also i was under the belief that if i installed a custom rom that i would need to reflash it to verizon....and i dont really want to pay the guy again

[Q] No Service.. anywhere.

So my wifes phone no longer likes to be bothered with phone calls or text messages. Her phone has been running flawlessly since we got it and about a month ago she dropped it and cracked the screen. It was too the point where the touch screen wouldn't respond to anything and we had to have it fixed. She took it to one of those places in the mall and they said they could have it back to us in a week or so. Once she got it back, she has had constant issues with not being able to connect to the Sprint Network (only for phone calls, data and wifi still work fine). She often roams but still with very little signal strength. She tried a factory reset, as per the Sprint Customer Service suggestion, and it did nothing. She had remained Unrooted up until this point and I finally convinced her to come to the dark side. I did the root, installed TWRP, and flashed her with Optimus DE. I got no change. I reflashed her Radio. Still nothing. I am at Wits end on this one and ask for some guidance. It would be much appreciated
(ps. She doesn't have insurance on her phone.)

It sounds like the antenna may not have been reconnected upon completion of the screen replacement. At this point though I would attempt a PRL and profile update for the phone. If that still doesn't work I would take it back to the repair shop and request they check the antenna since it was working before the repair.
This ^^^^ And also, Optimus DE can have weaker signal. Try a Stock ish ROM. You can also try going to Settings>About>More>Mobile Networks and check CDMA. It can help too.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will let her know about the antenna issue, that sounds like it possibly could be the case. I tried Stocktimus as well as Optimus DE, I just forgot to mention it. I chose the most basic (closest to Stock option) it had.
Also, I tried the PRL and Profile update and it had no change in signal.
Thanks for the replies.
