I carrier unlocked my phone ATT Titan on Friday. I tested by installed a T-mobile SIM and i was receiving network signal on the T-mobile network. However, I'm not receiving the 8107 update. Is this not the same as having a debranded phone? I debranded my Samsung Focus and the update followed soon after. Can someone please shed some light on this for me? Thanks

AT & T has not released the update.

Understood. But that's the reason for having it unlocked. My focus is a AT&T, and it got the update when I debranded it.

Just a question. Im using an HTC Trophy with a vodafone brand(splash shows up every reboot), but is now unlocked and am using it on a different carrier. When the update comes, and pretending that vodafone blocks the update (just pretending), will the update to this phone get blocked too since it is vodafone branded even if im on a different carrier and country?
I think this has been discussed before and from what I remember the updates come from Microsoft so it shouldn't matter.
ayt thanks for that. just asked coz i recently learned that the carriers can actually block the updates:
“We build an update for everyone, and certify them with carriers,” he said. “They’re on a regular cadence as they are on the PC. If a carrier wants to stop an update, they can. But they will get it out on the next release.”
“Updates are cumulative,” he added. “If a carrier doesn’t get their testing done in time, the next push date comes and it goes out then.
“Carriers could in fact block updates to sell you a phone. That can happen,”

I wonder about that too because I will be using my T-Mobile branded HTC HD7 with AT&T. I figure the update will be related to the carrier's software info existing within the phone.

@SlighMD We currently don't have any information on that right now. ^EB
not even the windows phone support team knows this
I have a omnia 7 which was on T-Mobile UK but it's unlocked and I'm using it in Pakistan. Just wanted to know if a phone like that is eligible to be updates or do I need to be on T-mobile?

what i mean is, the phone is originally from T-Mobile UK and it was locked on that carrier. I got it unlocked so I can use it all the way over here in Pakistan. The phone still has a T-Mobile logo show up during start up.
So my question is: if I have a phone thats on T-mobile UK and is unlocked, and its being used in Pakistan, will I get the update? Considering I'm no longer on T-Mobile

Your phone is now carrier-unlocked. By all accounts, you should get the update before people who are locked to T-Mobile UK.

Its still Carrier branded so most probably you will get the update along with the TMO UK users. Although you can still unbrand it using the registry edits posted on this forum.

Unbranding doesn't remove the startup logo.
I unbranded my Focus to get the pre-update, but it still showed the AT&T logo when it booted before I re-branded it.
Can anyone share there firmware version for a stock UK T-mobile HOX. Not only do I not get the 1.28 upgrade (surprise surprise) but I seem to be on a version no-one else seems to mention 1.26.110.5. Can anyone help me confirm this is the standard t-mobile version. Cheers.
it's mentioned a few times in the HOX branch - think it's one of the first impressions threads. I did a thread search on your version and found a few mentions.

Thanks for the reply. I did search but didn't really find the answer to my question. I will try putting it another way.
Does anyone have a STOCK UK T-MOBILE HOX that has a firmware version different to 1.26.110.5 or are we always going to be massively behind even the other carrier branded phones with updates.
Didn't really want to root yet but it is looking more like the only answer.
110 is the standard code for T-mobile UK, so yes, you seem to have the correct T-Mobile UK ROM.
Yes, it'll probably be a while till you get the 1.28 update as t-mobile are especially thorough in their testing before they release a ROM update. However, they're no worse than orange since they joined together.
I can confirm i'm on the same software and on T-mobile UK. I rooted because in the 4 years of being with t-mobile they never release a software update anywhere close to an expected date.
Some folk are still waiting for updates to Froyo on phones apparently.

Hi guys, you may or may not know but T-Mobile and Orange have merged together and now call EE.
A friend of mine updated his iPhone last week and installed a network update, I'm assuming this is a radio update?
Anyway, his phone is now displaying EE, but my DHD is still saying T-Mobile or orange.
Do I need to upgrade my radio? I'm using TrickDroid ICS. I've tried searching for new radios on here, but Tapatalk search is pants!
Cheers

No, you shouldn't need to upgrade your radio, over time it should automatically change to EE
Think of it this way, when t-mobile and Orange merged and began sharing networks, they changed from T-mobile to T-Mobile Orange (when using orange's network on a t-mobile contract) and no upgrade was necessary.
I have an iCrap lying around (mum's old phone) with an orange SIM, I'll check in a bit with my DHD and the iCrap

Thanks for the replies, it's just strange that we can stand next to each other, mine says one thing and his says another, that was since his update.

Apple may have sent an update (because they have to be different to everyone else!) to read the network code (23430 etc) as EE from now on. Most phones I am guessing rely on information sent from the carrier.
It is a strange one though because I have a friend with a 4s which shows EE from Orange, but I have a 3gs which shows T-mobile still....unless it is only Orange on iOS?
EDIT:
Just restored an iphone on iOS6 and after the restore, it showed 'T-mobile' but then had a message stating there was an update from the carrier. I did the update and it showed 'EE' so it is a carrier update, presumably rolled out for IOS only for now
EE
My wife's DHD shows EE after a sms message from orange and my DHD still shows orange just have to wait for orange to send out the sms for it to change to EE
EE are sending the updates out in batches, the ones that upgraded manually when they merged with TMobile are going first, the rest are due to follow over the next few months.
hello everybody, Im planning to purchase the htc 10 from bell this week. after reading up a little bit, i found several sources that mention only certain varients will have the unlockable bootloader.. this would be a deal breaker for me if i am unable to mod. Does anybody here have this phone from bell that could answer definitively whether the bootloader of this phone is unlockable from this carrier? any help would be much appriciated.
Well, since nobody answered, I'll give the info I've found out since. The canadian (bell) variant is, as usual, the international version. I say this with 90% certainty that the bootloader is unlockable at htcdev.com. However, as of yet HTC has not released any RUUs for the canadian 10, so be careful flashing, especially if you decide to go S-off.
Cheers yall.
I believe all models are unlockable now via sunshine? except the lifestyle of course
I'm getting mine tomorrow and unlock same day and change cid so I can get updates.
