On my Epic 4G I am having an issue. My son recently added a password to my phone that he does not remember and I do not know. I would just do a factory reset and call it good but, I have important Text messages and voicemails on my phone that I require for my job. Is there anyway I can remove or reset the unlock code on the phone and still keep my stuff for my job? The phone is also rooted currently.

Your voicemails can be obtained by dialing into your voicemail from another phone. They are stored on Sprint's server. As for the messages you can boot into CWM, make a backup of your system, then do a Factory Data reset. Download Titanium and use it to restore from the backup since it can restore data from within a nandroid now.(I am sure someone will have an easier way).
Boot into cwm and try doing a cache wipe and dalvik cache wipe. Tha may clear the password. And u should get ur messages again

Yes. Just keep putting in incorrect info and it will ask for your Gmail.

marcusant, are you saying that if you continue to enter the incorrect passcode on the main screen of the phone, that by entering your gmail info, it will unlock the phone without wiping any data?
Yes that's exactly wa he is sayin. For that exact reason... some ppl make mistakes nd that's a failsafe for that problem... I have done it numerous times... after bout 5 it will prompt u with that...

I have always has the problem that my device will be about 4 degree off set to the left when I hold it portrait, so I've been searching for a way to calibrate our g-sensor but end up with nothing found. It also turns out that galaxy nexus didn't have any option to calibrate g-sensor onboard, so the only thing I can do is to open this topic and see if anybody can give any advice. Any help will be appreciated.

Haven't found a way either...compass calibration seems to work for a little bit but resets itself. Calibrate compass by rotating phone twice along each of its three axis
Hope more people will look into this.

Maybe there is an hidden menu for it? Even the iPhone has the abillity to calibrate...so why Android should not have it, too?
Or should it calibrate it self?

Really? I'm not even aware that iPhone has such function. Maybe that's because my 4s has always been OK.

I have the same problem with my Galaxy Nexus. There is no option to calibrate the G-sensor and I've looked everywhere. I was trying to play temple run and the sensor is all messed up so I cannot play it.
Same issue here, was just about to post a thread before seeing this, ask one of the devs perhaps?
Maybe a MOD could sticky this?
Problem as seen in attached screen shot, when phone is place upright, the plumb line is off
I know this sounds silly, but have either of you tried turning the phone off, placing it on a flat surface, and then starting up the phone while not touching or moving it until it's fully rebooted?
I would image since there's no calibration settings in the menu, it's performing some kind of calibration while starting...? Anyone?
Also, there are several compass and leveling apps in the market that provide the option to calibrate.
I just tried rebooting it on a flat surface but nope, problem still persists.
Apps on the play store do calibrate but its only app specific and not system wide. so a bubble line app may be calibrated but when using any other apps it goes back to the default calibrations.
I might be wrong... but I thought I remember reading somewhere about a hidden menu that had an option to calibrate it. It was something like #282828, or something similar. I could be wrong, I just faintly remember.

Android has no global calibration system. Every app/game author needs to implement calibration on its own. Talk about wasting resources.. Thanks, Google.

Type *#9998*627837793# Go to the 'my parameters' and there you will find new menu where you can unlock phone.(not tested-for
samsung C100)
To unlock a Samsung turn the phone off take the sim card and type the following code *#pw+15853649247w# .
Java status code: #*53696# (Samsung X600)
If you want to unlock your phone put a sim from another company then type *#9998*3323# it will reset your phone. Push exit and then
push 7, it will reset again. Put your other sim in and it will say sim lock, type in 00000000 then it should be unlocked. Type in *0141#
then the green call batton and it's unlocked to all networks. This code may not work on the older phones and some of the newer phones.
If it doesn't work you will have to reset your phone without a sim in it by typing *#2767*2878# or *#9998*3855# (not tested)
I know that for the Samsung Eternity to get to the administrative menu type this in your dial pad,
*#6984125*#
Operator code for Pre-configuration
*#73561*# (probably won't need this)
And the Master Key is
*#3818790*#

Apps only calibrate for themselves, not other apps.
And, yes, your idea is silly, since the device doesn't know it's location on a surface. What if you turn it while not lying flat? If your method would work, it would decalibrate most devices since they are not being turned on while lying flat.

I think this is illegal after recent law changes/new laws.

If I am not mistaken, the laws only apply to GSM devices.

EDIT: here you guys go.
I'm going to assume you have experience with manually provisioning a CDMA device onto a different network.
The phone I used at the time was a Samsung Fascinate.
As long as your VZW donor phone will give up the CAVE and pretty much all the info needed in this post easily, you should have no problem getting talk, text, and data working on VZW.
Code:

Yes, I have searched this forum and other sites. Yes, I have the MSL.
It’s pretty clear why my inbound calls roll directly to voicemail when the device is active in 3G data – the DDTM setting. My problem is confounding: I cannot get the DDTM parameter to stick to OFF.
DDTM can be found in the EPST menu with ##3282# … Edit … MSL … EVDO … DDTM = OFF. DDTM can also be found in Settings … Call Settings … DDTM un-checked. Yet no combination allows calls to pre-empt data! I go back into ##3282# ... it has reverted to ON.
Everything besides this is working fine on my Sprint GS2.
No WiMax 4G in my area, so that radio is turned off.
Running Android 4.0.4 Stock rooted, baseband FI25 kernel 3.0.15-1123725 [email protected] #3
Please help. Thanks!
EDIT: With help from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954029
I've managed to pull current DDTM settings via QXDM.
My Current Settings:
Code:
requestNVItemRead ddtm_settings
DIAG RX item:
nv_ddtm_settings.ddtm_pref = DDTM_PREF_OFF
nv_ddtm_settings.ddtm_act = DDTM_ACT_MASK_ALL
nv_ddtm_settings.num_srv_opt = 2
nv_ddtm_settings.srv_opt_list[0] = 65535
nv_ddtm_settings.srv_opt_list[1] = 256
Perhaps can someone else check these values against their working device?

Fix For Wifi Off When Screen Is Off
Just Goto Settings-Wifi-Tap On Menu (The Left Hardware key) or click on the 3 dots- advanced-then change the wifi scan interval to always
I'm having the same problem. Wi Fi is set to Always, did few fresh installs with dalvik, data and cache cleaned, every time it's the same, wi fi is goin of after screen is off. I also tried few 5.1 ROMs, and it's problem on every one of them. So I'm forced to use stock ROM or some 4.4 custom builds.
EDIT: I found the solution - you need to replace /system/etc/firmware/wlan/prima/WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini file with file from some 5.0 or 4.4 ROM (I used 4.4 stock ROM file).

# 128 means disable Energy Detect feature
# 0-9 are threshold code and 7 is recommended value from system if feature is to be enabled.
# 10-128 are reserved.
# The EDET threshold mapping is as follows in 3dB step:
# 0 = -60 dBm
# 1 = -63 dBm
# 2 = -66 dBm
# ...
# 7 = -81 dBm
# 8 = -84 dBm
# 9 = -87 dBm
# Note: Any of these settings are valid. Setting 0 would yield the highest power saving (in a noisy environment) at the cost of more range. The range impact is approximately #calculated as:
#
# Range Loss (dB) = EDET threshold level (dBm) + 97 dBm.

Hi,
I'm trying to flash back two E4GT phones from PagePlus to Sprint (RingPlus MVNO). I get calls and text but no data. I suspect the mobile IP (M.IP) address maybe wrong. I'm hoping someone with more knowledge can help me out. I keep getting error 67. If anyone has QPST and can confirm their settings it would be much appreciated. Here are my current settings:
Settings tab- Service programming/field service/one time subsidy lock (uses 1) are all the MSL on the account. General = slot cycle 2, Current NAM=Nam1, Auto Nam = unchecked, SPC change enabled = checked.
CDMA tab- Nam Name = "SPCS", Directory = R+ phone number(10 digits no space/no dash), AOC=6, MCC=310, MNC = 10, IMSI_S = MSID (10 digits), Primary Channel A/B=283/384, Secondary Channel A/B=691/777, EVRC enabled for Home Page/Home Orig/Roam orig. Question here, I certain all is correct except for MNC. I've read 10, 12 and 120. QPST will only accept a 2 digit code for this field. Does it matter as it seems to work with both 10, 12 and even 00 (just not with 120).
CDMA-2 tab - NAM name = SPCS, Directory = R+ (10 digit number), True IMSI with MCC=310, MNC=12 and IMSI_S=MSID (10 digit)....Identical to first CDMA tab.
System tab - SID=4162, NID=65535, preferred mode = CDMA only, Band and Roam preference = Automatic
Roam tab- I loaded PRL 60690
Data tab- MDR mode = Svc Opt 33 pfrd, Pkt Dial String #777, Service option=IS-707
M.ip tab -
profile 0 (available = 0 and 1), NAI = R+ 10 digit [email protected], HA shared secret = text string "secret", AAA key=unknown what this value is and read that it's provided OTA at time of programming, Rev Tunnel Preferred=enabled, Home Address=0.0.0.0, Primary HA address = 68.28.81.76, Secondary HA address = 68.28.89.76, MN-HA SPI=4D2, MN-AAA SPI=4D2, DMU public key ID=0, DMU Mobile Authenticator=blank
Profile 1- Everything exactly the same as profile 0 with the only exception of Primary HA address = 255.255.255.255
Thanks in advance.
I used MVNOslayer to configure my phone to ringplus.
I am dealing with the same mip error 67. I kinda expect it since its a old phone that got replaced , i got two prevails now to flash,mod en xposed , and maybe decompile my odexed phones framework, Eventually ill look on my good rom but if ne thing I mod on dummy prevail to fix this I will surely let you kno bud or send file/link after i check on primary cell to ya since im on boost/sprint
