I am going to do a test using the xperia play.
For a week ill use a task killer and do the same things each day. And for a week I won't doing the same things I did during the other week
Note:
No cell.or wifi will be used.

Does using a task killer really hurt or help battery life.
Sent from my R800x using xda premium
Then surely it would make more sense to do the same things both weeks but only use the task killer for one week?

And this as well.
Theres alot of opinions on task killers. A sticky over on xperiaforums states you dont need them and that android will manage itself better. So godspeed.
Before you test without the killer, afer you used one for a week you should reflash your phone back to stock for a true result.

He worded it oddly, but that is what he intends to do.
Quite frankly, I think this test will prove to go differently than people will expect. I've always been an advocate for the educated use of a task manager, not necessarily a wipe-it-all task killer. Hoping for some educational findings, either way.
EZ Task manager.
If you want to prove something that has already been proven be our guest.
Note my device is hacked complete stock and I've read all the articles I'm curious

I'm going to do a study.
One week I'm going to have strawberry jam on my toast, the next week I'll have apricot.
Anyone want to know the results???
You should have peanut butter in between weeks to reset your pallet

LOL - CLEARLY the author doesn't know how to use spell check.
And has no life, since he waited 3 months to even respond.
Of course I replied to it, so CLEARLY I have no life also!
I use a task manager to kill process that refuse to be killed by any normal means. For example, once my browser wouldn't quit and it kept crashing whenever I used it, even after telling the os to stop the process. Using a task manager I force killed the browser and it finally worked.

What's up everyone, new to this forum, have had my phone for a little bit now, and need some tethering for my HP tablet with android. So its time to root!
I was looking at some of the Rom's and thought I'd get some of your opinions.
I like stock, but battery life is important and speed, any suggestions?

I did, but then I got rid of it because it caused it to sleep-die frequently. But lately, my phone has been sleep-dying regardless. It does make it faster, but with the high frequency of deaths, it was annoying to keep running it every time i turned the phone back on.

Used it ... switched to RAM Manager (Pro).
It avoids using ram scripts & tweaks.
Works great since then.
Why? Android is perfect, just the way google made it. If you don't want multitasking, get an iphone.

Which version do you mean?
And why does Google keeps changing it?
Or is perfect with each change?
And why, with ICS, does Google make minfrees dynamic ie. different depending on a devices RAM instead of them being the same on every device like it was before?
And why did they do that after I did?
Hell, why did htc copy my bulletproof launcher on a recent stock rom for the One X by giving it a priority of 0?

It supposedly makes the rom smoother and manages ram better. Can tell you that there are several threads discussing whether or not it is worth it. My opinion is that it is not at this time. The rom and the phone compliment each other very well.

With 2gigs of ram, and an already efficient rom... It is hard to see how v6 is beneficial at this time. If you read zeppelins thread... V8 is under development and testing... Maybe that'll bring something beneficial... Time will tell...

Hmm, maybe someone with experience using this should benchmark it on a Modern ROM and let us know what the results are. I've seen people swear by it in the past, but have never seen much in the way of the results backing it up *Grin*.

V6 seemed to help on the OG epic.. I haven't attempted on this phone due to (as what is stated already) us having enough Ram to compensate. The OG epic was slightly lacking in that department lol
I use v6 on every ROM I run. When I first looked at the OOM settings on this phone they were so low nothing ever got killed until a few hours later. At first I thought v6 wouldn't make a difference like it did on my Evo because this phone has plenty of RAM but I feel like it did after running the script.

I've used it before on my og evo 4g. Made it lag more until playing with the settings and setcpu then it was smooth and helped.
I recommend you take a look at Phakers thread on Placebo. He has many scripts made on/for our phone. Be warned though. There is a ton of info and random scripts for testing that you may be more confused after reading the long thread.
Currently running Jellybean Paranoid Android with placebo 2.0 and the "lite" script. But I just flashed new rom version and added the lite script so can't really comment now about this setup.

I used to run the v6 supercharger script on my old Huawei Ascend (yeesh!) and it's pretty good (in fact, I've still got it on my SD card lol). It's made more for slower phones though, from what I remember (please correct me if I'm wrong, anybody). I know it took away 90% of the launcher redraws on my Asscend. With our phone's gig of RAM though, I don't really see a use for it. Check out the thread for better info.

Figured I open this new fishing lure to vent out anything that needs to be said without judgement or complaining. So if you have something you need to get off your chest do, it here...
Don't matter the topic or subject, just take the 2 minutes it would take to type it out and bash someone that obviously owes you nothing and express it here. Don't mention Dev/Rom but have at it and keep it PG-13 as possible. Could be an app that has you busting your head open, a mod or tweak... doesn't matter.Bring it here. Either ICS or JB. Makes no difference. If you have a issue that maybe someone else can help you out on, and they actually do just be kind enough to atleast say thank you. So have bout it!!!!
I'm super pissed that people can't just stop complaining about things that work pretty flawless. People argue ICS is more stable than JB. I find this to be incorrect. If that were the case, I haven't had an SOD or RR since September 18th. ICS is just an outdated OS as far as a technical stand point.

I'm disappointed with the newest LiquidSmooth ROM release, the RC8. It has numerous bugs that need to be sorted out, the first post in the thread for it isn't very organized (yes yes, I know reading the post would lead to less bricks, but nonetheless) and the changelog hasn't been updated for weeks. RC7 was quite perfect as it was. The RC8 could have waited until a changelog was finalized, posted, the bugs were worked out a bit better and the OP was at hand to address the issues.
(On the good side, RC7 is my favourite ROM yet by far. I'm only disappointed because I'm holding liquid up to the highest standard)
Yes, I know; no names/devs. But can't be that ambiguous.

Great article man the truth for real!!!
The purpose of the link is to reiterate the fact that a) in the start of all of this, the originals did this for the rush of making something better than what was published. b) the steady request of donations. Truthfully, those guys never asked for a penny. But now everyone asks for donations. Lol!!! c) none of the software released by devs its official firmware. Its all mods, tweaks, build prop adds but nonetheless is all for testing purpose. So why in ****s sake does anyone complain. Instead of complaining, build or create something better. As the link included says, the originals learned code. They built from scratch.
Now that's no me saying I'm a Dev or a "kanger". I'm deff not but I do read. Is it not frustrating enough to read every single thread and pages upon pages of ppl steady saying g how bad **** is? Wtf, if you don't like it well don't freaking use it. Either way that's my some what of a rant
