Ended up getting the A200 - Acer Iconia Tab A100

I was looking at the a100 and for some reason didn't realize that it is a 7". Since I have the evo 3d I figured I'd get the 10".
Does anyone mind if I hang out here? I noticed that (at least on the xda app) there is no a200 forum.

I don't think anyone would mind if you hang out here, but you would be better off spending time the Acer A500 forums. Seeing as they're both 10 inchers people are posting a bit about the A200 there more than they would here, as the two devices have alot in common.
So, you missing having a camera? I actually like the fact it misses the camera, I have no urge whatsoever to take photos with a ten inch device, the looks I would get, especially here in my little corner of England!

If you want one, request it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416406. No, I don't mind if you "hang out" here but the question is - what are you going to do? This forum is for the a100 & a101 (partly), so you will not find any development (of such) for you device (you may find things which work for your device, but most likely they were not made specifically or even tested for your device).

To be honest you'd be better off going here: http://www.acertabletforum.com and checking out their a200 section until xda creates one.

Site Ideas

So, I have taken a Web Design course and just invested in Dreamweaver and Photoshop (both CS5.5). I am looking to make a site similar to my guides. Kind of an Incredible 2 reference site. I was wondering what things you guys would like to see in this type of site. Thanks.
All your guides you made, and a forum like setup for anyone who doesn't understand them completely as well as other walkthroughs and general android news. Also see about making it tapatalk compatible.
That would a lot of help, to noobs and a directoryof dinc2 info.
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
Well I have no idea about tapatalk and forums, so I would definitely need some help with that.
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
I actually think there are enough Dinc2 forums out there. I'd personally be more interested in a nice, neat maintained list of ROMs, tutorials, and resources. Info tends to get buried in forums, especially for a noob.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
Guys, I am working on the site, but I need help with a name. I originally came up with "HTC Resources" but then I might get into copyright issues, and make it seem like I am affiliated with HTC. Any ideas for good names?
Vivowmania.
Hah I dunno I suck at stuff like that.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
Well, the site barely has anything done so far, because I've scrapped stuff several times, but I like where it's going now. The name I have decided on is:
quietly rooted: make the most out of your HTC phone
Man I had the same idea as for making a reference site for the phone. Would you mind if I linked you're guides in it? You wrote up some good stuff that's helpful.
Sure. BTW, I'm done working for the weekend, as I'm having some issues, and I need to talk to someone about it, which I'll do Monday or Tuesday.

Jb roms

Totally new to this phone. Cracked my tbolt last week, got a used 32gig nexus. Ive unlocked, rooted, runnin liquid jb with imo newest kernel. I went with those first because im familiar with both devs. My question, and i love flashing, what are your fav rom/kernel combos for this phone. I found stock jb to be great, but didbt want to pay extra for tethering. I use it, but not often enough for $30 a month. Thanks in advance dudes n dudettes.

Threads like this have been beaten to death (atleast 1 per day). Go to q&a section, click the "search this forum" tab and enter "best rom".
*edit* they should really stop letting people create threads from the xda app...
good day.

Just a warning to you, threads like this are no longer allowed on xda. My suggestion is do a little reading through the roms your interested in and then do a little bit of trial and error until you find what your looking for.
Thread reported
Uh, i did not ask for "best rom" i asked what peoples favorites are. If you cant read, refrain from commenting. Geez, do people read before they type? Ive been a member a very longtime, never ceases to amaze me how people want to be the first to turn a thread into a flame off. All im trying to do is get ideas. Tbolt has almost no roms compared to here. These threads are active, im trying to keep up. If you dont have a fav combo, dont comment. If it needs to go to qna, thats fine by me.

Officer manning, ive got over 2 years on you and 1000 posts, i know the rules. I dont believe i broke a single rule, but then again, i read my post 3 times before i submitted making sure i specifically did not ask for the best rom. I hope your report makes you feel good though.

With the amount of users and different versions of the device we do get overwhelmed with these types of questions.
Everyone will have different opinions about their favorite ROM, but if you wish to discuss the different features each one has please use one of the threads already created for that.
There is a sticky in Verizon's development section that is a good place to start.

Is anyone working on the WebOS port?

Hey put that flame out!
If no one is working on it, I'll look into building it for the GalNex, though I'm by no means an expert... Just saying, I will if no one else is, someone's gotta do it!
If someone is working on it, fine, I'm not asking for an ETA!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I believe someone is working on it. I also believe it will take some time until a public stable release seeing how it worked at the moment.
im sure there is, devs arent allowed 'coming soon' threads on xda. also even if they did post and have updates to their progress it would be 1 page of information and 50 pages of noobs asking when can they download a 'stable perfect battery use' version that has no bugs at all. so basically it comes down to, waiting or learning on your own and being the one to 'bring it to the group'.

Why not, if my question is right there, as opposed to amongst a forum on the subject, the dev for the WebOS port might not see it.

That really shows the type of people that go through the forums. Once they installed their first 2 or 3 roms and kernels, and looked through 4 pages of android development, they feel they know everything. I really wish dj could leak that final Frosty rom update one day...

I agree. I was using Wicked for a long time and decided to give Frosty a try, and I loved it. I have been using it for a few weeks now and I also have great battery life with it. I will keep using it for a while. Hopefully DJ will come back.

I am saddened by what has gone down. I remember a time when post where constructive and not a pissing match. Unfortunately with more and more people come here and join the chances of this happening grows.
I know the frustration of seeing someone complain about something know to be issues or someone thinking it's a problem with the rom when no one else has issues. Just remember we where all noobs at one time or another and remember that one person that helped you out with something vs the person that flamed you for not knowing.

I was that at one point also, when the G1 came out and JesusFreke was making roms, and people had to use ADB to obtain root and be able to flash things. I learned since then and read and read and read. The problem now a days is that most don't care to read a little, or at all. Most of the questions asked in a thread are answered, or been discussed, or don't even belong in the dev section. This is extremely aggravating to the devs, or themers, when they right up a huge OP and no one uses it, and just clutters up their dev thread with useless questions and/or nonconstructive criticism. I don't blame him for quitting or locking the thread, if people feel it's at its prime, then leave it alone and don't touch it anymore. Most of the TouchWiz roms have the best version yet to come, or they came and went a while ago. Most of the mods they incorporated are flashable on your own, anyways. Thank him and respect decisions, or use one of the other 10+ TouchWiz roms.

Jesusfreke was the pioneer of modding for Android. Without him I believe that we would not be as far with android as devs, manufacturers, or even android its self.
Look at thouchwiz its self with the toggles in the notification Window. This came from cm. We the community can end up pushing for devs with true innovation to go back underground where their work is not seen in mass people, Google, or manufacturers. Then android may end up missing what could become greatness all for petty arguments. I follow one such dev in a private forum and it's a shame he was forced to by thing like this.

Hey guys,
I let this thread go for awhile (I was logged on when he created it) and you all have said your piece/peace, in an almost professional manner which I for one appreciate very much. But now it is time for this OT thread to be closed. I do invite you to the Official OT thread to continue this discussion, as a few have already been doing.
Thanks you for being civil about it, but the time for this thread has expired.

[BOUNTY/PLEDGE] Fix For GNex Graphical KitKat Issues

I'd like to start a Bounty/Pledge. I hope this is the best place to post this since it is development related. I'd like to attract the best minds in fixing this issue. As you probably know, the GNex is plagued with graphical issues making KitKat not work very good to say the least. Most things work but random reboots and blacked out screens apps like Google Now make it very difficult to ignore. Google's low system requirement (512mbps ram) for KitKat means our phone should be able to handle this update...technically
I pledge to donate $20 for a fix and hope others follow suit. I will track the pledges and will set up the PayPal link on the OP if/when we have a person or team that fixes this issue. I've participated on other similar threads with good success rate in the past and think we have enough users to do again.
If 50 people pledge $20 , we'll have $1000 to donate to the dev(s).
Pledge what you want, no amount is to small.

This would be best to post in general for two reasons:
1. Development is for releases ONLY
2. This issue applies to all models of the Galaxy Nexus (yakju, takju, mysid, mysidspr)
I am unfortunately unemployed atm but I believe I can manage to pledge $5 at a minimum.

If its unnecessary that's awesome, but whoever is responsible for the fix would certainly get a donation from me.
Ive briefly searched for info on who is working on this and haven't found a thread. Is there a place to go for progress updates?
I'm sure the KK threads would give it away, but I don't want to miss anything. I love 4.4 on toro, even with the current issues.
