[Q] is there a way to get the Apple market? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

On the iPhone 4 they can get the Android market is there a way we can get Apples?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

Not a chance.

Why do you think? Just because of the way they're compressed or what?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

No... Why would you do this anyway? its not like iPhone apps run on Android...

Then how did Apple run Android apps?.. Anyways i don't care so much just jealous they have our market

Iphone running android apps? Evidence please.

I'd like to see where you're seeing this. Because it just isn't... possible.

I don't know if they're running it but those who jailbreak can get our market, source = friend

are you taking about the Android theme for iPhone?
I have a friend who has an app store but the app icon looks like the Android market.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App

Okay i looked it up, once you jailbreak you install openiboot which allows iPhones to install Android os.. Kinda like how mac can run windows
Just what i read dunno if it's legit but i suppose that's what my friend meant

If you jailbreak you get Cydia, a store for jailbreak-specific apps.
They don't get the Android Market.
And I'm glad your friend is a solid source on the matter...

This intrigued me so I looked it up and apparently it is true (if this source can be believed)... http://www.cultofmac.com/68731/you-can-now-install-android-on-your-iphone-entirely-through-cydia/
Hmmmm... I HATE APPLE but if this is true at all it is pretty cool...
See here as well... http://www.androidoniphone.com/

So the question now is can we dual boot? That is if this works..

I honestly dont think so. IF this is true then the reason this can be done is because Android is "open source". Apple's iOS is NOT open source so there would be all kinds of licensing issues and knowing Apple... they would sue EVERYONE for even THINKING about doing it... LOL...
GOD I HATE APPLE!!!

Not possible. Whatsoever. Apple is closed source. Sure a cydia theme can replicate the android market, but that's about the extent.

I guess, i thought it was far fetched but one can dream.. Lol

The 2nd link in my post is for a site that guarantees that you will DUAL BOOT iOS and Android. This does not seem to be a theme... They even claim that Flash will work which would be impossible on an iPHONE with just a Cydia theme on it...
Anyone here have an iPHONE and 30 bucks to try this and see what its all about?
---------- Post added at 06:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:27 PM ----------
So apparently androidoniphone.com is a scam BUT... There IS an open source project by idroid where they have been able to run android naively on the iphone... See here...
http://coburndomain.org/index.php/2011/04/idroid-developers-androidoniphone-com-scam-victim/
And here is a link to the REAL iDroid Project wiki... http://idroidproject.org/
Guess this isnt so far fetched after all...

iOS is closed source, you'd never be able to make it work on an Android device.

I said you'll never run iOS on an Android device. Because iOS is closed source.

Personal preference. Everyone likes their own scene. The Androidcentral guys are pretty cool.

Yawn... Who cares?
I'm returning my GNEX for a RAZR now.
Anyone need a GNEX?
Luckely it's US only, but why?! Especially about lacking UI, imo stock ICS overrules moto-blur in every way.
i dont care
Not sure if anyone read through the rest of it but...
SwiftKey over Swype? G+ over FB? "Twitter app of the year" is The official Twitter app? C'mon, I don't even use twatter and I know tweetdeck is far superior than the official app. That whole article is garbage.

Not to mention they're the first ones to jump and blame customers and defend verizon and other carriers when the pull bull****.
I've stopped visiting them after their article on CarrierIQ. Their "blame the consumer" attitude can go take a hike.
And the Razr as phone of the year? Man, that's hilarious. It's not even verizon's second best phone right now.

If you are happy with your phone, whether it's a Razr or a Nexus or an iPhone or something else, why do you need someone else to validate you by saying your phone is the best? There's enough room in the world for people to have differing opinions without everyone but you being wrong. Instead of arguing about which phone is the best, better go argue about who has a bigger banana.

IOS is compiles for specific hardware, unless you get an idevice running wp7 natively there's no hope it will be ported to the current wp7 handsets.

Port Windows Phone OS to S3

I hope I don't get flamed but I just wanna know if this is possible. There is a windows phone with the same specs as the S3 not released yet (forgot the name of it). and i would also like to know why it cannot be done if so.
Anything is possible. Is it likely someone will go through the trouble of trying to do this when you can just buy a WP8 device? Probably not.
Also, just because 2 phones use the same SoC doesn't mean they can run the same software without issue.

One problem is that WP8 is not on open source like Android. Your phone needs a license to use it.

I like it coz on every update the whole UI changes. Also it's very fast as compared to other OS's out there.

you don't need to afford an apple,
waste of money, resources, and time
