Master Rom finishes the flashing without restarting the phone.
Consequently, you can install a full version and without restarting install the low version.
No answer about the Tune and ETC files
Saludos!
ETC is nice to flash only QMD part of CSC (*.rcs)... See here:

3. Can we "Full Flash" (with the option ticked) without the Bootloader?
Read on if you want to know why I need to know:
My Wave S8500 was bricked and revived by one of our members, but now, the internal security mechanisms are a bit "shady", meaning that another Bootloader flashing might or might not be dangerous.
Now, I could just flash without any options and without the Bootloader, but I think that would mean that leftovers from the previous FW will stay. I do however want the flash to be as clean as possible.

Hello everybody ! I'm using HCT HD and Original ROM.Can I install new version of TouchFlO 3D?If can could you provide me a cab file for me?I try to download it for my phone but I when I install it it show nothing.
Thanks advance
you will have to flash a custom ROM, you can't just install a new version
you can read all about it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
its not something to do lightly, but take your time, and learn what to do, and you should be ok
Flashing is easy take out sim and ur memory card put the flash file u want onto an 2Gb memory card name it BLACIMG.nbh, turn fone off reboot into bootloader, hold volume down and press power button and will ask u to press power button to flash ur fone. DONE!! EASY!!!
MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU DO THIS DO HSPL UR FONE WITH OLINX 1.56.
you cannot simply install touch flow 3d becuase a lot of the files used by it are in the ROM. this means that you cannot overwrite them without flashing a whole new ROM image, hence why you need to flash a new ROM to get an updated version of touch flow. Youll notice how it is often referred to as "manilla". this is simply its codename - they mean the same thing. Good luck

Everyone will have different opinions on this one. There are many good chefs here and on other sites. My suggestion as always is to read up about the different roms. Read the threads which will give you a sense of whether there are any significant issues with the rom which will be a problem for you. Once you have decided which rom you want to try, follow the step by step guide (link in my signature) and flash. You can then try a few different ones yourself and decide which one best suits your need. People are going to give you their opinions which may or may not be what you are looking for.
This thread will now most likely be closed down as it calls for an opinion and could lead to huge debates about the relative merits of each rom. Only you can decide what suits your needs.
Yes thanks for your ur seggestions.

Just do what i did and flash all of the popular ROMs and then choose which one you liked best. Alternatively, on the ROM developement forum, theres a benchmark thread (its a sticky, so itll be near the top). There you can see the best performing ROMs and may want to choose one of the best, if speed is a priority.
Hello,
sorry if this is a stupid question, but is each of these?

so ehm... what do you really want to know?
What is CDC, PDA and PHONE?
When someone asks "What firmware are you using?", which of these is the correct answer? I see that i have JM5 for PDA and JM1 for PHONE and CDC.
I guees he wants to know which file has the correspondance in odin:
csc --> csc
modem --> phone
code --> pda
My turn to guess
Maybe he wants to know what firmware we use.
In my case, I use :
CODE_I9000XWJM7.tar.md5
MODEM_I9000XXJM3.tar.md5
CSC_I9000OXAJM1.tar.md5

Hehe I guess the question was not very clear.
I just to know what each software component is, functionality wise. What does PDA control? Is PHONE the firmware used by the radio? What about CDC?

Anyway, from the pinned topic called "[REF] BIG FAQ! {Flash/Root HOWTO} {ADB&Tutorials} {T&T} {FW-Guide} [MUST READ!]" :
3.Why are there multiple files in the firmware archive/folder?/Why do I get three different versions when using *#1234#?
Galaxy S firmware updates come in three parts:
-The CODE itself (called PDA). This is android and all the applications that come with it. (The archives/folders will be named after the version of this file)
-The MODEM (called Phone). This is the firmware of the wireless chipset of the device and will operate you WiFi, Blutooth and 3G/2G/GSM connections. (ie Radio ROM)
-The CSC (short for Customer Specific Customization). This includes connection data for the broadband networks as well as apps that are only available in certain languages/intended for a specific area.
If we ask for your firmware, we want to know all three!
Since not all of these require updates simultaneously, often then CSC and MODEM files will have lower version numbers.

Hi Everyone,
XXIKA1. Does this firmware support Multitasking on Bada??
I've seen some videos on Youtube that show Multitasking with this firmware..
HERE'S THE VIDEO
Also does this allow for spoofing..(I've spoofed Asphalt free with which was not available anymore..) I have XXJK1 currently. And does this work in conjunction with Android. Than-Q.
XXJK1 and Android. Yes, you can use it, because I'm using that firmware too.

I think you misunderstood me. I am already on XXJK1. I want to know If I can use XXIKA1 with android and will it allow for spoofing? and does it actually have Multi-taking for Bada Native apps. thanks.
Sorry. I saw "I" as "J". Look main tutorial thread's first post. If your firmware isn't there, post there your question. Maybe someone make a bootloader for your firmware.
Thanks for the suggestions but I havce other queries too..
The bootloader and firmware (considered as the rest of the files with apps_compressed.bin as the most important) are completely different things that should not be confused.
The FOTA is prepared for certain bootloaders while they may run with different apps_compressed.bin as long as there is right header in the apps. Additionally, you may try modifying apps when it doesn't have the right header.

Thanks for the reply! But I am a little confused...as to what to do.
I just installed the 'bl_univ_boot_poc2.fota' before installing Android with XXJK1.
how to modify apps? Also do you knw whether this firmware (XIKA1) has bada multi-tasking? Or shall I just stick with XXJK1 (too good except multitasking.)
And apps-compreesed.bin is the preloaded apps right?
let me answer you questions
1.all bada firmwares from bada 1.0 support multitasking but for native apps only so XIKA1 is not that special
2.XIKA1 doesn't support sp**fing
3. booting Android needs three things
prepared fota (mijoma made it already) , apps_compressed.bin that support fota (if it doesn't support it there is a small exe mijoma made also to patch the file) , proper bootloader that is compatible with the fota (you can see all proper ones at mijoma's thread)
Important N.B : we don't flash modded bootloaders it bricks the phone

I know I'm not the owner of the files but I've made it for easy use sir. Have you seen any rooting tool with cwm installer for lu6200 combined in just one application sir? I made that. Have you seen a downloadable pdf tutorial for customizing the lu6200 sir? I also made that. Credits are all posted on the tutorial FYI. How many times will I tell you that I do not own those files and the tutorial? Do you know how to back read? You're the one that keeps on insisting sir. Have you checked the files yourself sir? The tutorial came from gfan and thinte and I converted them to english to be more understandable for all users and compiled them for winxp and win7 users. The tutorial on the first page is the english tutorial I made. And did I asked for the thread starter to give credits to me? NO! Lahat ng nababasa mo sa first page at sa compiled pdf tutorial ay english version na gawa ko. Pati ang rooting tool at cwm combined na application ay program ko. Nakakaintindi ka ba sir? I told him to delete the thread cause I know I have the right and it's my own english tutorial cause other users from tipidcp are very rude and indecent. But I already told him thats its fine to reupload the files and keep the tutorial as is. Have you read any post from me making myself excellent or outstanding? Yes this site is made for sharing and not asking for donations.
Let us not make this a big deal. Kababayan pa naman kita.
It's true he has the right to ask for deletion. He created a software for easy rooting and injecting cwm. I just shared it here, if you looked at the original thread you'll see a lot of stupid replies. And i think thats why he's being protected. In fact i would've deleted this thread already if I checked my inbox a week ago. Im so thankful he changed his mind. This thread is for helping people.
He bring back and updated the thread on tipidcp. Will update here too pretty soon. I just dont have my laptop.
Well then, thank you for allowing him to retain this thread. That's All...

would flashing the firmware found on the first page- LU620166_00.kdz- allow you to use DMB TV and keep root/CWM/have everything working as it should (eg working SMS)?
in other words, is that firmware considered a ROM based on stock FW or would flashing that file be the same as going through an official update (ie is flashing that file the same as unrooting it)?

I hope I posted this in the correct section of the forums. If not please point me out where I should place it! And sorry for the intrusion!
So basically my S20 Ultra ( Exynos variant SM-G988B/DS ) is stuck on February 1st, 2020 Update. My current version is G988BXXU1ATB3 /G988BOXM1ATB5 /G988BXXU1ATB2
I am pretty sure there have been tons of updates mainly to address the early camera issues, but I can't seem to make it visible to my current device so I can upgrade.
Is there a workaround in order to 'force' an update or I am missing something there?
Excuse my noobness
And nice to meet you all!

Download the firmware via SamFirm and flash it with odin. Stop waiting to receive OTA. Stay up to date, if you see there is a new update repeat those steps and you will always have the newest firmware.

This solution will not void your warranty. After you downloaded the firmware via SamFirm you will have in the extracted folder two kinds of a file that's called CSC. One of them is called HOME_CSC you need to flash/choose the HOME one in order to keep all your data.

SamFirm does it for you. Just enter G988B in the device slot and OXM for the CSC slot. It's going to show you the right/newest one.
