At least you can hold your desire as you want when calling someone x) hahah
If you want an FM Radio, go the Desire. The only flaw from my personal opinion is that Iphone does not have an FM Radio. Having said that, I'm going to get an Iphone 4, as well, when it's finally released.

Wow, that's the largest understatement ever....
I've posted something similar to this in the off-topic section about the iPhone...but here we go again!
The Good
Long battery life
Thin form factor
Impressive screen resolution and pixel density
Excellent camera for stills
Excellent video recording capability (720p)
The Bad
Relatively small screen compared to the competition.
Non removable battery
MicroSIM
Nonstandard plug for charge and sync
(Infamous) Antennae hardware design fault
The iOS
Obstrusive Notifications
Home screen is useless; just an application launcher
No native file system
No smart dialing
No fullscreen mode in browser
No text reflow in browser

Personally I think your choice needs to come down to the software, if you want android then its desire all the way, if iOS floats your boat then go for iphone. In terms of hardware they arent all that much different when looking at future proofing.
The front facing camera doesnt appeal to me as ive never made a video call yet in all the years of owning a 3g phone. I would say one of the biggest pluses of the iphone is the video recording though but this antenna bug would really put me off getting one.
As has already been said, you won't get an objective answer it seems in the Desire forum. This is borne out by the responses you've already had.
The iPhone 4 is a very fine phone indeed. Like everything, it has its plus and minus points. In terms of hardware, the iPhone 4 probably has the best overall hardware of any device out there (antenna problems not withstanding), and in software it has a very good OS (iOS4) which is somewhat crippled by Apple themselves (e.g. multitasking), and has the most complete and coherent application base out there.
For me, the biggest problem is the Apple ecosystem that is built around the phone, and the draconian control that Apple have over that ecosystem.
In my opinion, Apple treat their iPhone customers as if they've leased the device from Apple, rather than actual owners of the device.
This is coming from an Apple "advocate" - I have an iMac and a Macbook which are think are both excellent. However, I also have several Windows PC's, so I'm not a rabid fanboi.
So, I'm firmly in the Android camp, and the Desire has very capable hardware attached to a very good implementation of the Android OS (including Sense!).
One other factor which is definitely significant here in the UK are the costs of the plans associated with getting an iPhone subsidized under contract. The iPhone 4 plans are all expensive, and unless you are prepared to pay at least £45 a month you still have to pay towards the phone. Coupled with derisory data limits (usually 1GB or less), it's a bad deal. FWIW T-Mobile in the UK has a 3GB "limit" for all Android handsets and you can usually get a Desire free on £30pm contracts.
Regards,
Dave
This is a desire forum ..... the end
For me the only reason that iPhone 4 is better than the Desire is the 720 video recording. That's it.
Since there is a rumor that with Froyo you will get the 720 video recording, so iPhone 4 is no way better than Desire.
So go and get a Desire, you won't be disappointed.
I find the Desire is much better.
Have a look at this http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/06/10/apple-ios-3-4-vs-android-2-1-eclair-2-2-froyo-fight/
There are NO issues with the new iPhone 4.
Just to recap:
- Can't hold it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ixIHyEPO5g
- Proximity sensor messed up. http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/29/is-the-iphone-4-having-proximity-sensor-troubles/
- Multitasking sucks. http://blogs.bnet.com/businesstips/?p=7957

- Breaks from one foot. http://flirtationcreations.com/blog/2010/06/first-iphone-4-broken-after-one-foot-drop/ . Trips water sensors in steamy rooms
- ios4 broke many features
- You get some bodily fluids on it directly from the CEO. http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/24/iphone-4s-yellow-spot-issue-goes-away-with-a-bit-of-time/
- The usual reasons why the old os sucked, they are still there
But these are NON issues ! Actually none of these issues exist. See this for confirmation: http://www.fakesteve.net/2010/06/there-is-no-spoon.html
I've never been much of an iPhone fan and the link below reassure me even more

Apple make some decent products.
Apple charges a very high premium for their products (ie desktops, you can build better yourself for a lot cheaper).
Apples iPhone 4 is not amongst their decent products.

Does the Desire HD feature SLCD or LCD diplay?
Thanks for helping.
Best Regards,

It was assumed to have an SLCD display but now noted to have a standard LCD screen, although with 16M colour reproduction and a more vibrant screen than my old HD2 (side-by-side comparison)

Hello Alin, Merry christmas to you,
LCD is more general the common name for the family. SLCD is a special form of LCD.
And the Desire HD has a SLCD display.

No, Desire HD has standard TFT LCD screen.
Source: newer sources on the internet + my friend has Desire Z which comes with SLCD and the quality is noticeable better, colours are much deeper and picture is really crisp..
Shame they couldn't do it with Desire HD..
However, I must add that despite the fact it's LCD, the picture on DHD is very good anyway, and generally it's the best phone made so far. I really love it.

DHD is SLCD the fact that the screen is bigger while maintaining the 480x800 resolution makes the color reproduction worse than the SLCD Desire and Desire Z.
Screen: 4.3-inch 480×800 at 218 ppi(0.38 Megapixels) WVGA TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen
taken from wikipedia, anyway i looked on desire HD oficial site and it says just WVGA Screen, i think if it would have a SLCD they would write because it can be a marketing thingy...so i`m 99% that is normal LCD not SLCD, i guess best way is to email htc support and ask
It is LCD on every Deside "HD" sold worldwide
In Denmark HTC has confirmed that it is indeed LCD and not SLCD. And this goes for every Desire HD worldwide.
The biggest mobile operator in DK - TDC - has gone public and is promising every Desire HD customer a complete refund due to have falsely claimed it was SLCD.
(Sorry, cannot link because I am new user and thus are not allowed to have links in my messages yet).
I believe SLCD doesn't say it is better than LCD.
Have a look:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-LCD
It is SLCD, but this does not mean it is better than LCD (the same).
Desire Z has a smaller screen so.......

Contacted customer care and they confirmed that all desire HDs (post firmware 1.32.720) carry an S-LCD 24bit panel from sharp....They stated that the initial launch models had an LCD panel from sharp altho wid 16M colors..
I am very happy wid my desire HD. Infact its the best smartphone I have owned. period. To me SLCD or no SLCD it still gives very crsip natural looking colors compared to both my original desire (AMOLED) & iphone 3GS

I was wondering that is there any way to dig in to the hardware specs through the phone itself, rooted of course, in order to get the specs right, at least for that particular device?
On the other hand imo there really is no actual point in this debate as the screen is great. Ok if you put it side-by-side with an iphone4 or some superAMOLED screen you'll see the difference but when used separately there's no such impact. Just crank it up to auto brightness and its just fine in any conditions. I've got some of my friends with iphone 3gs complimenting the screen: It's so BIG, and bright! Haha! Just my 2 cents
here said Desire HD uses Super LCD
i am assuming type of display could be basic on different regions

Hey everybody,
My HTC One X has developed an interesting problem over the last few days. I hit the unlock button the other night and my screen did this weird rainbow fuzz storm thing. Ever since, the screen has been glitching from time to time and it appears to be getting worse. Sometimes it will be discolored, the ratio with be wrong and the icons will be skewed. It gets stuck too and won't wake up. I'll hit the unlock button and the capacitive buttons will light up, but the screen won't come on.
Any idea what's going on? Hardware issue? Software?
It might be worthy to note that I've had this phone coming up now on almost two years with no issues.
Thanks
If you still have warranty I mean if its still bought less then two years ago sent in for warranty you can't do anything for that...that's a hardware problem ...

It's an international variant of the phone and I'm in the US, don't think I've got any warranty really. Maybe that new Nexus 5 is calling my name...
But there's a lot of other options (Moto G4, etc) for not so much more, I like the removable battery and the way the back looks. I've heard some negative about the GPS, but since it has a S410, is it the antenna or software?
The camera seems to lack some in taking pictures outside in daylight too, from what I have read.

The camera is really great, best i ever had and it's the cheapest device i ever bought.
Gps is good enough, surely tops all mediatek devices and is as good as a 250 bucks sony m4 dual for example. Accuracy after fix is very good, fix is super fast with network, in airplane mode without any supplementary data the first fix is slow (around two minutes).
So if you're outside your country and want fast fix with no network the first day you need to be patient. But that is a problem most devices have and it is only of you have no data, no wifi to get the agps data downloaded.
So i would recommend the device.

I think if I had to buy now, I might take the G4 Play for the bigger battery, but I'm still quite happy with the Swift.
It's a tie, I think.
The Swift has a gyroscope that is missing of the G4 Play. The latter one has bigger battery.
I'm perfectly happy with the Swift (especially if you can grab it on 99£ promotion) but neither will be a bad decision

I would not buy it again. Mainly because of the battery. It does not last a full day and the fact that even though it is removable, this does not help. I have not found the possibility to buy neither a battery nor an external charger.

I'd get a Wileyfox Spark+ instead of the swift. It has the same specs but feels a lot nice in the hand. Better finish and it just feels a lot more premium. Normally it's also the same price.
What really is bothering me is that right after startup (when the unit has been powered up after starting the car) the entire system is in-cre-di-bly slow.
I often need to use the navigation app (e.g. Sygic in my case) and the unit's so laggy after startup that I need to wait for a couple of minutes with the engine running before the system is "up to speed".
After about a couple of minutes the unit works as it's supposed to: fast and responsive. OS and apps and all.
But after any shutdown that was long enough to force a full bootup (showing the startup logo's etc.) it's all slow and laggy again for the first couple of minutes after startup.
Sygic is pretty much the only additionally installed app, apart from the stock apps.
It is an Eonon (Klyde) GA6151F (for Mazda 3 2004-2009) with MCU version MTCC-KLD6-V2.97, and Android 5.1.1 (rk3188-userdebug 09082016.13:48:16) firmware.
Any tips as to overcome this?
Thanks a lot!!

Theres no such thing as an "Eonon GA6151F" - Eonon are just a seller who mainly sell Klyde units you most probably have a Klyde MTCB or MTCC unit "Eonon GA6151F" so you ll be better off reading/posting in thread in the MTCB section because your unit is the same inside as the 1000s of other MTCB//C units made by 10s of different manufacturers and sold by 100s of different sellers. "GA6151F" is a made up name by Eonon and wont mean anything to anyone on here because we use manufacture names to identify units - this can be found in the settings/about device screen after the letters "MCU" - the numbers and letters tell us the manufacturer and MCU type.
Your ll find info on the 2GB RAM upgrade in the MTCB hardware mod forum.
Its probably also a good idea to read the wiki in my signature.
EDIT: I checked, you have an MTCC unit.
Hi
For my part i have a GA6163F from Eonon, which is the same device onboard (RK3188 MTCC) except for the screen (7 inch vs 8 inch).
Anyway, when i bought mine, I flashed the 5.1.1 ROM of Malaysk because I wanted to use TomTom on my device. It worked good but like you the unit was very slow on startup and i had to wait between 3 and 5 minutes before launch my TomTom app.
Last week I've seen that our unit (MTCC device) is compatible with a downgrade on Android 4.4.4. So I tested and it's UNBELIEVABLE ! The unit is really fast. Startup in 30 seconds, TomTom works really good, interface is really fluid.
So my tips is to flash this ROM :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70647239&postcount=6748
I was thinking about adding 1GB of RAM before but with this ROM, for my usage it's not necessary. I suggest you to take a look on it.

When I got mine it was on 4.4.4, I upgraded to 5.1.1 and find it fine, I ve also upgraded the RAM.
But the point of my post was to tell you that you dont have an Eonon GA6151F, because theres no such thing - you have a Klyde MTCC unit whihc is exactly the same as any other Klyde MTCC unit, apart from screen size, no matter whether its for a Ford, a BMW, an Audi or a universal unit like mine - theyre all the same inside.

Well, I know that my device is a Klyde MTCC. Otherwise how would I know what ROM flash ? But you do well to specify it again to be absolutely clear for those who are not used to with this jargon.
I just wanted to point that before spend money or because you don't know to disassemble your device, there are others things which can be tested before adding 1GB of RAM. That's my opinion.
But, that you said is really interesting. I thought that Android 5.1.1 handle badly the RAM, but the problem is maybe the only 1GB RAM with this OS. For me Android 4.4.4 consume less of RAM and works better my 1GB.
Do you use some "big GPS apps" like TomTom or Sygic on your Klyde MTCC 2GB RAM ?
Really appreciate to share experiences with you to understand better how this device react to the OS and RAM.
Thanks,

5.1.1 stores running apps in cache, so regularly clearing the cache helps overcome the lags with 1GB.
2GB can run all sorts of bigger spps, yes.
But my point, which you havent understood yet I think, is that there was no need to open a specific thread for your unit because it is the same as all the other MTCB/C units and if everyone did that then there would be literally 100,00s of thousands of threads about duplicate devices and problems. See ? You do not have a "GA5161F", you have an MTCB/C head unit made by Klyde !

Could you please link to some specific content about RAM upgrade for a EONON head unit?
I've just got a EONON GA2186, and I find it very slow, both regarding to app running and responsiveness.
I've read something (this is my first contact whit this subject) and I guess I need to understand what is MTCC, PX3 and PX5, etc. Is it possible that you could guide a non-fluent in English through what I really need to know in order to have it running faster, without lag and more responsive to touch? What do I need to buy/change? A "core" or is there just the RAM part to replace?
I'll appreciate your help very much.
Thanks in advance.
You need to buy the RAM and then get it soldered onto the board, there are some threads in the hardware modification section.
