But there's a lot of other options (Moto G4, etc) for not so much more, I like the removable battery and the way the back looks. I've heard some negative about the GPS, but since it has a S410, is it the antenna or software?
The camera seems to lack some in taking pictures outside in daylight too, from what I have read.

The camera is really great, best i ever had and it's the cheapest device i ever bought.
Gps is good enough, surely tops all mediatek devices and is as good as a 250 bucks sony m4 dual for example. Accuracy after fix is very good, fix is super fast with network, in airplane mode without any supplementary data the first fix is slow (around two minutes).
So if you're outside your country and want fast fix with no network the first day you need to be patient. But that is a problem most devices have and it is only of you have no data, no wifi to get the agps data downloaded.
So i would recommend the device.

Alles klar Herr Komischer kommissar! That was more praise than I have read about the device. Hmm, not bad.

And the compass and gyro are working great, too.

So essentially, this mobile is better than the Moto G4 Play, even though it costs less?

G4 play camera is bad but its battery is larger. Same cpu. Same sensors. Take the wileyfox if you dont need a big battery. But the difference is not so big.

I think if I had to buy now, I might take the G4 Play for the bigger battery, but I'm still quite happy with the Swift.
It's a tie, I think.
The Swift has a gyroscope that is missing of the G4 Play. The latter one has bigger battery.
I'm perfectly happy with the Swift (especially if you can grab it on 99£ promotion) but neither will be a bad decision

I would not buy it again. Mainly because of the battery. It does not last a full day and the fact that even though it is removable, this does not help. I have not found the possibility to buy neither a battery nor an external charger.

Batteries are available, but not really cheap. And my device lasts 2 days with cm 13 nightly and beroid kernel installed. Wifi always on but i dont play games... You can tune it even more if you set it do disable cores to last 4 days

I'd get a Wileyfox Spark+ instead of the swift. It has the same specs but feels a lot nice in the hand. Better finish and it just feels a lot more premium. Normally it's also the same price.

Hey everybody,
My HTC One X has developed an interesting problem over the last few days. I hit the unlock button the other night and my screen did this weird rainbow fuzz storm thing. Ever since, the screen has been glitching from time to time and it appears to be getting worse. Sometimes it will be discolored, the ratio with be wrong and the icons will be skewed. It gets stuck too and won't wake up. I'll hit the unlock button and the capacitive buttons will light up, but the screen won't come on.
Any idea what's going on? Hardware issue? Software?
It might be worthy to note that I've had this phone coming up now on almost two years with no issues.
Thanks
If you still have warranty I mean if its still bought less then two years ago sent in for warranty you can't do anything for that...that's a hardware problem ...

It's an international variant of the phone and I'm in the US, don't think I've got any warranty really. Maybe that new Nexus 5 is calling my name...
Hello everyone,
few days ago I broke glass onmy s4 mini... Now the phone work, but I hate glass broken!
A friend of mine purpose an exchange of my broken phone with his xperia s perfectly working with valid warranty. It is a good deal?
Witch one are the biggest problem with the phone?
I heard about a problem with luminosity sensor, did u noticed?
Any other info will be appreciated guys thx u al!
Do you consider replacing the glass/screen?i think its rather a personal decision, and depends on what do you want...our xperia s is kinda old and dont expect big performance. Also, forget official software updates...are you willing to use roms?
I didnt notice any big luminosity sensor problems, maybe its a bit laggy, but it works perfectly. I would worry more about battery life.
Maybe ask your friend to test the device?

EDIT: btw, the sxs camera is awesome!
thx mrmigg,
i thougth about glass reparation but it will cost a lot ( i have no skill for self change)
my friend is a classmate, tomorrow i'll keep the device all the day long with me, so i could do a lot of test
i'm a bit worried about battery life, i love s4mini battery
thx for help...i'll tell u what i will decide
Yeah, i think the biggest problem is the battery life and maybe the performance, compaired to the s4mini. However, try it tomorrow and if you like it, welcome to our sxs forum, and dont forget, there are some awesome ROMS out there!

As you know there are many "Active Diplay" alternatives like Dynamic Notifications.
Although this one might give you a lot less options, it works like a charm, really!
Especially on our Moto G's )
The app has it's own power-management (timer function, etc) for non-amoled screens so it actually takes a very little of your battery.
The developer already announced that a huge amount of features are coming up, so for the ones who are searching for a more
"vanilla" like Active Display experience, should really try this one out.
You can get it through the playstore by following the link below:

nice! lifehacker for our moto g hehe
Can some one confirm if it works with Moto G Flipcover. I tested it and it did not work.
Wouldnt this app drain a lot of battery ? The idea of active display (MotoX) was that with the AMOLED only the pixels needed would be turned on... Something that could not be do on the G (it does not use an AMOLED screen)
PD: i did read the post, but the question remains, how it works for it not to drain a lot of battery

I was afraid of this too, BUT...
I have it working for 3 days now, and you'll be actually surprised how less battery it takes!
Sure it takes a bit more then when you have an amoled screen, but because of the slim timer etc you wouldn't even notice any difference with or without it.
Do you think it's useful?

The Motorola Droid Mini has got a LCD display but ActiveDisplay of motorola is compatible with this but i believe that behaves differently to the moto x.. it isn't always awake the display , but only when there is a notification.

Yup, we need something like a count about time, so every tot minutes notification appears again. For now for me it's pretty unuseless only when notification arrives. I mean what is in this sense the utility?
I hope in this feature really. Good app.
It's no use to me, until it can replace the lockscreen.

You can join their beta tester,
You'll find what you're looking for
With stock 5.0.2 dynamic background doesn't work anymore..
:crying:
The s9 seems to be a great device regarding the hardware and the camera. On top, there is an existing developer community, which is especially good, as I really don't like Samsung UI and software. But with aosp or lineage, this could be my next phone.
How's the camera performing with custom roms by now, and what could I probably expect, for example in low light?

Hi guys. I own Rk3288 TV Box that runs 5.1 Android. When i try to run IPTV on it, kodi keeps buffering for ages (IPTV tested on other devices and works like a charm). Even loading channels list takes few minutes. I figured that the problem is in the outdated kodi and since i can't install newer versions of kodi on lolipop I would like to update the box's firmware. After some digging i've found that there is no official update beyond 5.1 but i've also found custom 7.1 .2 firmware for Ugoos boxes that run on the same RK3288 chip. I was wondering if i can flash it to my box anyway? Or is it a bad idea?

Very unlikely. You could try and risk a brick but simply relying on the same SoC as reference for custom Ron to install is unfortunately not working. If the PCB and and all its components are identical, it could probably work, but only the SoC is not enough.

There are chinese boxes from different "brands" which are internally 100% identical. If you have a custom Ron for those, there is a high probability this Rom will work for all those devices.
It's a guess and you could still try, but there is a risk of hard bricking the box.
Have you tried to play around with the Kodi buffer settings to get rid of the stuttering?

Yeah I tried that. I'll look for similiar boxes and try what you said. Hopefully it will work. If not i'll just order a new one. Won't really loose anything becouse the box in it's current state is pretty much useless.
