Hi guys, today im here to discuss, or to know about internal space.
I saw in SE Website, it says that Xperia Arc have 1GB Internal Storage but only up to 380MB free.
Why?
What is 620MB? Android isn't it.

Other storage space is allocated in different partitions e.g. /system, /cache etc.
380 MB is user available storage.

Hi,
I've just installed Teppic's '2.29.405.5' ROM' and APP2SD+ using Clockwork Recovery, all went fine but I cannot see the partition being added to the system memory.
Internal Memory shows 140MB (Factory) but I have partitioned 1GB as ex3 and 3GB as Fat32 using GParted on my 4GB Class 2 Card.
Please could someone help me, have I done something wrong?
Thanks
Are you sure FAT32 is first partition?
Also if they are primary partitions?

Yes both are Primary partitions and Fat32 is first partition.
It's normal, system space remains the same. It only doesn't go down as fast. Strange you couldn't find the answer by searching.

Okay thanks. How may I keep track of the partition storage space? Titanium?
There are apps on the Market that can show you the A2SD storage space remaining, Quick System Info is one I think (can't remember)
yes quick sys info is usefull to evaluate storage... more if you use a root explorer like es explorer, U can see your app on ext3 => /systeme/sd/... you should fine some folder like APP, dalvik-cache, lost+foung etc.. which mean your a storage app installed on sd card
I hav cm7 nightly 177 installed on my phone and got only 138 mb free. But when I first time installed nightly a month before I got 170 mb free space .How?I want that much free space again.....please help

Here's a good way to free up internal memory, I currently have mine set to /system 150mb and /cache 10mb which gives me around 300mb of internal space.

Hi All,
I have the R800i running the following
Android Version: 2.3.4
Build Number: 4.0.2.A.0.42
I am about to update firmware to .79 and flash DoomKernel v14 and JokaWild Rom but want to install link2SD, I have a 64gb class 10 sandisk SD and wondered if anyone could advise what size I should make my 2nd partition.
Also should iIformat this partition to FAT32, est.2, ext.3, or ext.4?
Thanks in advance!
Re: link2SD partition size
I made a 1.5gb partition as ext2 on my 32gb sd. Installed loads of games and used about half of that space

So is this what people recommend?
1.5gb partition formatted to .ext2
Re: link2SD partition size
It depends how many apps you have. I have around 174 apps linked and this is how my storage is:
I've had to increase the size of the partition multiple times

very nice! by your attached pic, that is what i'm after. unfortunately, i can't get my 64gb microSD card to create a 2nd partition properly. which file system did you select for the 2nd partition? also, what ROM and Kernel are you using?
I think I am using ext2. I used Minitool to create the partition. When that screenshot was taken, I was using Xperia NXT and DoomKernel.

Hi, I have a 32GB sd card and I want to install lot of games on it (ie. 1 game has 1.5gb, the other 1gb...) so I was wondering if i can partition 15GB for apps (the Ext2 )and the rest (Fat32) for Data, pics...

You can, but a 15GB partition is excessive if you're simply linking apps there. You'd want your Fat32 partition to be larger as that's where the game data goes, the link partition would likely be fine at 3GB

Hi All
Really am getting tired of running out of memory on my rooted desire. I used the CyanogenMod and now the Mildwild 5.0 but i`m only managing to install around 5-6 apps before i get the memory is low notification and am unable to install anymore. Any ideas what i`m doing wrong before I go and buy a new phone to end this madness hehe?
For example According to Mounts2SD app my storage is
Internal (/data) 132mb of 147mb
External /sd-ext 75mb of 3.75gb
Cache /sd-ext/cache 75mb of 3.75gb
Applications 10.85mb
System apps 2.0kb
Data 53Mb
Dalvik Cache 70.97MB
First of all, wipe everything. Then repartition your sdcard using 4ext recovery and now assign only 1gb of storage to your ext4 partition. Also change your Hboot to a more efficient one like CM7r2 Hboot. Have a look at alpharev.nl for that. Finally, reflash your rom(preferably any of Mildwild's) and setup a2sd again from terminal or use mount2sd from playstore.

Try this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124 and let me know if you run into any problems.
PS1 : Try to give the full details of your phone ( like ROM you are using and stuff ). May be it helps to guide you in a perfect direction.

Something that worked for me was removing apps I didnt use with Link2Sd, and merging updated system apps into system. Then moved everything else to SD and. Hope it helps!
Storage full using int2ext+, Stock ROM with cool features and only 370MB used
I'm using Crossfire77's great Stock ROM with Cool Features, plus Int2Ext+ and EXT3 partition. I've limited my applications to a total of 370MB out of a 970MB partition, and I'm still running into storage problems. If I try to click on a browser link, for example, the browser won't open with a "Storage full" error message. I note that background apps like AVAST will also force close at times.
Any ideas regarding the problem and solution?
Thanks.

INT2EXT+ keeps data/data in the internal storage rather than in the EXT partition, this results in faster performance. This folder contains data of your installed apps. The "Storage full" error comes because of increased data files either due to a big app or a installing a lot of apps. So 350MB is actually the max you should fill in this script
If you want to make full use of the EXT partition, use INT2EXT scripts(without the +), but you will have to sacrifice a bit of speed for storage
Solved. I have partitioned my sdcard using cwm recovery(512 mb out of 3966mb allocated to ext partition) and then installing int2ext4+. Works fine.

Internal memory
So that means that there is only ~70MB of internal memory available after what the ROM itself uses? Wow, that is lower than I'd expected, even after having removed as much of the HTC bloatware as possible. Perhaps to set expectation appropriately for the WFS, when describing the INT2EXT+ script, instead of saying that 100MB of internal memory is needed for every 500MB of total memory, it would be better to say that 50MB of internal memory is needed for every 250MB if total memory! Thanks.
