and, if it does not, gio cm9 does not work in GT-S5660V

Hey Guys,
having an issue getting CM7 Beta 6, after a 2nd attemp to get it installed getting the same issue.
Rom flashes, apply the fix.zip and fixbrightness.zip, reboot the phone, then after the blue led goes off the phone sits with the Moto symbol, left it for a good 15 mins and still just showing the symbol.
going to try flash with out the fix.zips and see whats happening, any one had the same issue?
*edit*
didnt install the google apps, think that might have been the issue, will try when im more awake
yeah thats the pro..instal google apps and reboot..
ok, done the reinstall last night.
now having an issue with boot looping on the startup animation,
left the phone alone for about 6 hours,
and the phone was still doing a boot loop.
I can get back in to Clockwork mod tho which is better than last time
going to try reflash it again.
try wiping dalvik cache

do you use 2ndinit 1.6? because that doesnt work, try 1.42! and which sbd did you flash? i recommend 3.4.3-11, thats what quarx (and me ) uses.

I had the same problem with 2ndInit 1.6.
Install 2ndInit v1.4 (See FAQ by Antony.PS).
Try WIPE FACTORY RESET / CAHE and DALVIK, after that install CM7 from scratch.
Some users in Brazil had the same problem and fixed make those steps.
Sorry my poor english.
Thanks for the help guys,
managed to get it sorted,
full wipe, and then reinstall with the tools i had and yeah working,

Same Setup

Same exact setup I used. Proud Owner of CM7 Beta 6 Motorola defy!!!
The latest defy 2init v1.8 is the best option because this allows you to install either bootmenu 0.6.1 stable for cm7
Or 0.8.6 latest version
Hello all,
I've followed the installation in the CM site
i've installed the latest stable via CWM
and now it keeps showing me the welcome to android "touch tge android to begin" and than it goes to the CM load animation
please help

Beat me to it. I had the same problem when I flashed FXP052 because I rushed and forgot to wipe the data and the delvic. Follow the wiki and you shouldn't have any problems

Hi there,
My Defy was on Quarx's 0308 CM9 (With CM7 Kernel), when I tried to install Walters Kernel using 4.5.2-109_DHT-22-kernel.zip. After doing this it did not go past the "M" logo upon reboot.
I then read that others had flashed the fixed DHT-22 kernel to fix this issue. I accidentally selected the wrong SBF (JRDNEM_U3_3.4.3-11_BLUR_SIGNED) and I am now stuck in a boot loop. Could anyone please help me figure this out?
Thanks in advance
Can you get into recovery ? , have you tried full wipe , data, catch+dalvik

No can't get into recovery, only into bootloader to flash sbf's.

I was in your situation last week (stuck at m logo), so i flashed a 2.2 sbf, then rooted, installed recovery and installed ics again with correct kernel,
That is the way i done it, its a long way around but I'm not sure if there is a faster way sorry,

i have today this problem.
i found china sbf 2.2.2 work on my defy flash root boot cm7 and cm9
Thanks for the response, I'm busy downloading another SBF to try that, will give feedback and thanks, if I prevail!
Ok, I'm back in action. The issue was that I needed to wipe user data and cache using the standard restore (I think that's what it's called). Anyway instead of looking for a SBF that makes it work, I accessed the standard restore by holding volume - while powering up, then wiped user data and cache, which stopped the boot loop after the reboot.
Now I'm back onto CM9
Glad That Worked me too faced alot probs with CM7 and 9
So, I decided to flash new rom and then stuck at Galaxy Gio GT-S5600 Logo. Then I flashed stock and everything works just fine. And after all I tried Cyanogenmod 7.1 and Adrenaline rom by Delanoiser but same thing happened. Pls Help.
P.S. What rom is best for daily use?

You probably didn't flash the ext4 converter. Stock roms use the RFS file system and custom roms use ext4. You can find it in phiexs Cyanogenmod 7.2 thread, but if not I could share it from my drop box.

try with a full wipe!
Oh and Cyanogenmod 7.2 is probably the best for daily use, it has almost no bugs, but I use cm9 because I like it better. The only issue Is that the camera doesn't work, and some people report reboots on wifi (i dont though) but if you don't mind that, get Cyanogenmod 9 ICS

Good roms:
- GioSpeedo (looks like stock, but is rooted + cpu control + faster) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538251
- CM7.2 (bug-free?) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669607
- CM9 (cam not working & bugs) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414173
boot loop
same thing happened to mine, but now it's ok,just...
-enter recovery
-factory reset
-wipe cache/partition
go to advance
-wipe dalvic cache/turn off/remove battery/then put back baterry,...
-then re-flash rom,after pass...
-enter again/recovery
-again factory reset,done
Ok, so I know the SD card is good because I was able to use it to flash hercules_PAC_jb-v17.0.0.zip and get it running; however, for some reason I cannot access the SD card in any way while on the phone. The phone shows that it's there but I cant access ant of the files I put on it.
Anyone else have this problem?
Got it too. Huh that's really strange actually... Oh well, I don't keep anything on my external SD anyway, its just for the CWM backups really
-------edit-------------------
OK so using ES file explorer, I can't access external SD through /SD card/external_SD. However I can get it through /external_SD. Just grant root permissions in settings and check allow up to root folder. That way you should be able to access everything on your external SD card

I need some help here!!! I'm getting real frustrated trying to flash this pacman ROM....I keep getting stuck on the booting logo it just won't go through the logo...I guess its boot looped...I did everything right on installing it right...wipe/factory reset, flash ROM,flash gapps,reboot...even tried wiping/factory reset, wipe cache, install ROM,install gapps, wipe davlik, fix permissions n reboot...I even tried format system....I don't know what to do now...I have no problem flashing mr1 build 6 AOKP ROM,and one before that was mr1 build 5 AOKP...and also before that I had the cm10 ROM....can somebody help me out here...I really want to check this ROM out....do I need to update my CMW recovery cause I'm working with 5.0.2.6.....or do I need to flash it from my sdcard instead of my internal sdcard cause that's were I flashed the rest of my ROMs....I got the AOKP mr1 build 6 ROM now but like I said I really want to check out pacman ROM...somebody help if somebody can????
You need to use Dark side Super Wipe and Super Cache Wipe. Had the exact same issue and all you need is to use those two zips and flash them because the wipe scripts are broken on CWM v5.X.X.
You aren't doing anything wrong, the recovery is. Get those and you will be fine!

+1 @ thatdude - please do your self a favor and upgrade that CWM version you have the new ones work just wonders plus as ROMs get updated they use different updater script to flash them and that version works fine if you use those super wipe scripts but just update and no more of those problems

Just remember not to use the dark side wipe after you updated your cwm, they break the recovery.
