Yea man, I lost have my ****!!! Guess its time to start fresh anyways but damn this sucks

My guess, It will come back! Hey, I kept personal files and videos i shared and so far lost or at least until it comes back. Not all of it was pirated stuff. So their is legitimate use for it. I think megaupload's Lawyers have some amo to fight with, don't give up yet. Look at the "Pirate Bay" for example, it has won many fights.

Yea but this guy, Kim Dotcom(lmao), is under critical fire my friend! I don't think he'll be out anytime soon...He's been charged with a felony once before, on which he banked $42 million, BUT under German law, it was swept under the rug. And my guess is that the US government will not be as forgiven for the current charges that have been brought up against him...two of them being RACKETEERING and MONEY LAUNDERING??? WTF...but not only that, Megaupload has had endorsements from high profile celeb's which will bring this case into the limelight, so pretty soon everyone is gonna be talking about it, at which point the government will definitely not want to loss this one...http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2012/01/19/feds-shut-down-file-sharing-website/

I hate that I bought a lifetime membership back when they 1st started So I guess my lifetime has ended quite a run for 50 bux I guess

I don't know what the HE77 happened to a government "of the people, by the people, for the people", but this shizz is getting dam old. First online poker, then pirate bay (well, I understand that one), SOPA, PIPA, Megaupload. When will this government stop being so intrusive. I blame it on all of us voters. We have let the government have control for too long. We need to wise up peeps, and take our liberty back!
Ok, done with my rant.

Well....it's not like megaupload DIDNT have a bunch of pirated stuff.
But i think anonymous just got played. Shutting down megaupload shortly before the SOPA vote...you have to expect an anonymous attack. Which in this light makes it look like they're supporting piracy. And attacking government sites... i hate to say it but it might just scare the legislators into voting FOR sopa.

I'm still not so sure about that. A number of them were scared into dropping support once they realized that had no idea what was actually going on in the bill or on the internet for that matter. The public backlash was pretty tangible. If things get more serious protests would likely get more intense and the backlash would likely be epic.
Do I think that means that SOPA/PIPA have been defeated? Tough question. Chances are bills called "SOPA" and/or "PIPA" will likely never get passed...but I think it's not unlikely that they will be dismantled into pieces and stuffed into "feed the poor orphans" bills, "job creation" bills and "unemployment extension" bills....what kind of heartless prick would vote against unemployment benefit extension, jobs creation and feeding poor orphans?
...only honest politicians. Good luck finding one of those let alone enough to keep something named like that from passing.

Well, as you all know the government only works for the rich. So, when the rich think there precious profits might be damaged they will arrest you. That is exactly what happened with pirate bay. They forced a foreign government to arrest people who hadnt committed a crime in their own country.
For the record I use megaupload all the time to download roms. I think we all do. They are far from pirated so hopefully they will see the site has a great legitimate purpose.

Random question..

My buddy was telling me about how there is a site that allows people to hire others, and they give them a "free place to live, and food" in exchange for their manual labor on their farm, or whatever they own. Does anyone know what he is talking about?
Honestly, no clue. Why don't you ask your buddy about it?
Well..he drinks a bit, ha. And i don't know if it's real or not, so i figured i would ask the masses. He said he found it on the internet, but forgets it now..
At that point I'd personally just dismiss it, but just me.
What he's describing is feudalism.
Eh, i usually would. But i want to move around for the next couple of years, and this would be perfect.
Ranchers do this in Texas and Wyoming quite a bit. Room and board for labor on the ranch.
It's HARD work and LONG hours and not for alot of people but it's a job and a place to stay.

I heard about this too, it's kindof like a craigslisttype thing, but just for odd jobs.... you post what you need done, and what your willing to pay, then people can respond and do the work. I never caught the site name, but it does exist....
Why do you ask? And here of all places?

What he was talking about was a sort of farm like thing, where people hire you in, let you live at their house, you do work, and get paid some. But you wouldn't get paid that much because you are getting free food and board.
Lol seems like someone read up on indentured servants and thought maybe this will catch on again.

Carrier IQ busted on video: records keystrokes, web traffic

this just came into my news feed..smh
http://androidcommunity.com/carrier...130/?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=pulsenews
Must be a bit embarrassing when Carrier IQ PR says publicly that the software does not record keystrokes, then it's shown doing it by the same guy they threatened to sue.
Whoops!
This definitely explains why Carrier IQ PR was so defensive over Trev's findings. Isn't this a direct violation of privacy?
I saw Trevor's video yesterday but I figured it was already over here somewhere. Thanks for posting it for others to see.

We went to CarrierIQ before and all they said was that nothing of importance was gathered and it was there to monitor weak signal areas.
But, this video surely shows different. I am betting this is the Government wanting to monitor everything for security purposes.
I'd really like to know why it is sending out the content of my text messages. How does that allow the carrier and/or manufacturer improve their product?

Nice .. I'm happy to see this getting some press at media hub like Forbes. Hopefully it will get picked up by more of the mainstream media outlets. If the average mobile phone user gets wind of what CIQ is doing there's going to be a serious ****storm I think. People get wicked over their privacy, and rightly so. Meanwhile, Verizon will kick back and laugh about the whole thing while they pick up more customers and count their benjamins.
I'm late to all this and I just googled the company, first thing I read was this:
With Carrier IQ they do. Carrier IQ’s Mobile Service Intelligence solution eliminates guesswork by automatically providing accurate, real-time data direct from the source – your customers' handsets.
In the press statement they contradict this lol.

I'm pretty sure that the government only even looks at texts/calls/etc. to help with police investigations and similar things. If they did something big that would affect us, everyone would go ape**** crazy which would be like suicide for the US government.
I'd be fine with an invisible guy looking through my window and furiously masturbating - As long as it doesn't affect me and I won't notice, I don't care.
This can be solved quite easily.
If everyone would forward every email/text they send to a government computer in order to "save them the trouble" of having to data mine their own citizens...
I'm sure their "supercomputers" could handle the extra traffic.
I hate this question because of course I don't like it but what the [email protected]$ am I to do about it? Nothing. I just have to know it happens.
The point is that the only way out seems to be moving on the countryside, have a farm and live isolated from any statal or corporate agency. That means no internet, no cell, no fun! At least while you´re young

It seems to me your are a textbook case of being affected by the good ol fear tactic. Are there bad people in this world? Yes of course. That doesnt mean you trample on the rights of every single individual to look for a few. Your asking your self the wrong question. What do you think America is doing around the world that makes people want to come here and do terrible things like 9/11. Our country, This united states was founded on a constitution where you are enstilled rights for your protection. Dont so easily turn your back on your liberties because of fear. If your scared go to church.
Doesn't bother me, I'm not a terrorist. I'm sure the GOV would love to see my texts from my wife about what time we have to pick up the kids from school and what not...
If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about and I hope this doesn't come as a surprise but there is no privacy on the Internet.

Our internet traffic has been "overseen" much longer than you think.
Things that could have been prevented were intentionally ignored since the govt would rather refuse to confirm that they have been spying than to have to explain how they knew about such things beforehand.
They will only get more intrusive as technology evolves and no matter what the people want, this is the way of the world.

This post is joking... right?
The TSA has so many flaws and security holes. There are so many things that you can bring on a plane and use for harmful intent without the TSA knowing. I have a knife keychain (press a button and a sharp knife pops out) and it's never been questioned or confiscated while going through a TSA check. I've gone on at least 6 flights this summer too.
Say some terrorists want to get on a plane. You have 6 terrorists, they all have ipads. They all get first class front seatings. You can have 2 people use their ipads to knock out the pilots - This would be possible and not that hard if they were trained. Then you hijack the plane and have the 4 people guard you (using their ipads as weapons) while the other 2 crash the plane. This sounds like a really crazy scenario, but it could work. Instead of iPads, they could think of a way to get knives on the plane. (Once again, TSA has so many security flaws that this won't be a problem).
The government definitely keeps us safe in a bunch of ways but the TSA is not one of them. The TSA is really just useless and has a negative impact on the innocent people taking the flight.

Samsung and the cry baby

Hey guys I want to know your opinion. I'm due for an upgrade on my line. I already have a galaxy S3 and love it. I was holding out for whatever Samsung puts out next like the note. With the piss ants win this could possibly lead to there phones being banned in the U. S. Watching the news they were saying the judge in around 3 weeks from now can possibly stop all sales on galaxy devices in the U.S. Should I run out and use my upgrade or is this highly unlikely and the cry baby's won't get there way again. Maybe I'm being paranoid but the way they made it sound on the news made it seem like it's possible. It's a shame apple wins and we all loose, however this is just going to make them out innovate apple that much faster. As they said on XDA TV they may have awaken the sleeping giant. Long live Google and Samsung. I'm such a fan boy lol.. But at least I'm not a I phone user who lies to themselves. Take care community
How old are you?

Look man I'm a bitter android enthusiasts who sick of seeing apple trying to sue Samsung in every country for the past couple years. This screws the U.S consumer. Maybe I've got issues but I won't be the only bitter person if they stop sales on galaxy devices in the U.S. And yes this possible can happen the judge will rule on it in 3 weeks

I think the ban would be for older phone's so don't worry.
It would take an entirely new case stretched over months before a ban of current devices would take effect. No need to worry yet but the fact that this sets a precedent it pretty unsettling.

as ridiculous as these posts may be, not everyone is crystal clear about information add there are many media outlets and some giving wrong information. it want a troll post i don't think and was just someone looking for answers. you didn't have to reply or even read the post. i believe xda is for everyone, not just people who have vast knowledge of tech and being in the know of everything that's going on. if someone has a legitimate question, we should all share knowledge. at least this is my opinion.
My life for Aiur
Thanks, this is why I asked in the general. Some ass holes spend there time searching the general and Q&A to try and flame people. They need a hug but this seems to be there only outlet. If you find it ridiculous then keep it moving. You don't have to read it.

I didn't see the S3 on the list of targets either. I am really hoping the judge goes easier on them than the jury did. I think that jury was just made up of a bunch of really, really dumb people.

I'm sure they will appeal the decision. Or at least I hope. Apple certainly does not need more money or power.

Yes the average person trying to do the jobs of actually engineers. They have no idea what they were talking about. This is just a proxy war against Google. They didn't find the tab infringed but the phone did? Also they didn't find apple guilty for anything when they clearly were. O well like I said before it's just going to make Samsung out innovate them that much quicker. Let the truth be told, we need them to compete against each other so we have more innovation. This Leeds to super computers in your pocket for under 200$.

I think whoever was working at the patent office the day a patent for a rectangular phone with round edges, or a green icon, was granted is the real idiot.

Appeals are in the works and they are planning for multiple scenarios. This won't go down easy. There was an article somewhere saying that this was the best exposure for Samsung in terms of advertising because people are able to see that if the Samsung and iPhone products are the same and they can get the Samsung for cheaper, they will opt for cheaper.

What I don't understand is how the Jury was so proud that they did not read the instructions from the judge and went ahead to fill out 700 questions is less than 2.5 days,
I thought the entire point of a jury was to deliberate and come to a conclusion based on the evidence presented. The jury also stated they wanted to set a precedent and make an example of out Samsung, I wonder ho many of the use Ipads and Iphones...a Jury's job isn't to make an example but be fair and unbiased.
Sounds like the jury was pretty damn biased to me, there are a lot of legal experts saying that this will be overturned maybe even in this trial based on the jury's behavior. If not this trial, then most definitely the appeals court should overturn their verdict.
Essentially everything Lucky Koh does, the appeals court overturns.
I think Samsung should sue the US Patent Office, clearly they didn't check anything before granting useless patent after patent.
Probably some idiot working there who just check to see if all the boxes were checked and the paperwork was their, then they granted based on that.
How else can anyone say a rectangle with curved corners is patent-able
Alright enough with the rant.
Long Live Samsung and Android.
I love android and all products associated but I hate to say it, it's pretty obvious Samsung used many elements from ios to skin android with touchwiz. If you can't see the obvious you're delusional at best.
I wish Samsung the best but they made their bed, now they need to sleep in it.

Shut up.. we all know Sammy copied apple first for being the only Android maker to have a physical home button in the same spot as the iPhone & the colorful launcher of the s1 & s2.. they are iPhone replicas.. point blank. I have a galaxy tab 10.1 & people swear it is an iPad when they first see it.

Playing devil's advocate for a moment:
One could argue that the way Apple made their iPhone is really the best way a phone could be made. Therefore, Samsung had no choice but to make it look and sound the best, it just happened to come out looking like the iPhone... but with a totally different operating system, and much more improved IMHO.

Tell that to an iOS user that any Android device is better... after using a iPhone for two days im Impressed with the build quality.. which is one thing Samsung lacks. They even used a fake metal look alike material & plastic... where paying $650 for that build, really?
