Hey guys am running 4.01 and am having trouble with the nexus staying connected with my wifi. I have turned it off and on but all that happens is the icon goes blue then grey then disappears. Any ideas on how to fix? Cheers
I have the same problem, but there is already a thread about this
Used to have the same problem on the Nexus S. Have you tried manually assigning an IP address to the nexus and turning off DHCP on the wifi router?
Also could try turning off all security on the wifi router and try to connect. Then apply one level of security at a time - WEP (try connecting) then WPA.

WiFi Connection Problem Fix
Hi,
its an realy easy Solution. It seems that ICS has a Problem to identify bad Internetconnections. Some times, very good Connections will be droped by this new functionality from ICS.
go to
Systemsettings / WLAN / Menu / Extended / Schlechte Internetverbindung ve.. (in english something like "bad Internetconnection")
and unmark it.
The Connections will not dropped automaticly anymore.

What you said does not exist. At least after 4.0.1. We do not have that settings wlan that you are talking about. This cannot be solved the way you are saying. It is a bigger issue and something to do with particular routers with this phone

yes after 4.0.1 that feature is gone. Maybe google removed it to "fix" the wifi issues many people are having? I really think that this is hardware issues!

It may be software. (i have not had this problem my self) My old phone is the Droid Incredible. After I got my Nexus, i tuned my old phone into an "iPod". The wifi on it was always solid as a rock. I have flashed a few roms on it for fun and the latest one drops wifi all the time. That was just a software change, nothing more.

I really hope it is software. But if it is software then shouldn't everyone have this problem?
Alright guys, I think another possible fix has been found, I'll link to it soon. Also, if the thread posted above has helped you, please press the thanks button.
EDIT: I have updated this thread with yet another potential fix for the wifi issue. Please reply in the thread I've linked to, as other people are also experiencing the issue and it doesn't make sense to have more than one thread about the same issue.
Also, I've posted the issue over here, and if you look at the third reply, there could be a potential fix.

Sorry guys, but the Settings still exists. I have ICS (Stock ROM) 4.01 on my Nexus and with the settings I mentioned 3 Posts before i fixed the WLAN Problem for me.
Important. The Settings are little bit hidden. When you are at the WLAN-Settings press Menu again then you get the extended Options!!!!

Those settings are not present in the later 4.0x builds. Your version is not updated since launch.
it works
OK, perhaps the fix works only for germany.
At Germany the Android Version 4.01 with Build ITL41F is the actual ROM / there are no updates available.
Which Options do you habe at the Extended Option Menu at WLAN Settings?
I hope the 5 GHz Settings will also not disapear with the next update.

My question is when using the rom, does anyone else's Wi-Fi turn on and off and have terrible signal? I configured the Wi-Fi so it wouldn't turn off and still does even when I am on the internet. It just like resets itself. If anyone has any answers regarding please tell me.
It also seems unlike the last two roms I was on didn't have terrible signal. I'm always at 98% and my router is strong, the signal before it disapates can reach about 50-80 ft before it dies. But through my apartment I get around 42-98% and that shouldn't be happening.
So if anyone knows any of these questions please tell me.
Thanks in advance!

I don't know/haven't heard anything about CM7.1 having any wifi problems. Have you tried restring your router? That's usually what fixes my problem.
Sent from my Droid Incredible running a random CM7 nightly.
Re-string? Or Re-starting? I've restarted plenty of times. I don't know why this is happening, only with this rom and I really like it. But I hate that it does this.

I remember that some of the earlier CM7 ROM's had wifi issues.
I know this seems like a painful suggestion, but the newest nightly #151 is running really great and is likely much more stable than the RC you have running.
CM7 decides when to make a nightly an RC but the development and developers specific to our phone I don't think they have the power to do that.. so often those releases are buggy and those RC releases are the ones that people who don't like bugs like to flash.
I was thinking about it, what exactly does the nightley version have and how is it different? I really enjoy this rom but if the nightley more then likely fixes this I'd be happy to convert as long as it has the same features or more.

There have been WiFi issues with many GB builds across many platforms. If you still have weird issues, you might want to try using the kernel POQbum is using. It's faster than the stock kernel, too.
I am using Nightly now, but the issue now is the battery. I switched it to Conservative but still seems to drain rather slow. But as for Wi-Fi disconnects, I've had none. But still got a ****ty signal strength. I can deal with it.
Thanks for the help though!

Try another kernel if you haven't, and good to know that fixed your problem
Also dial *228 and choose option 2 to update your PRL's for signal.

This is the % on my Wi-Fi. I don't have a problem with mobile just the signal on Wi-Fi...it don't really make sense. Every other rom was 100% but the cm7 one does this. It don't bother me to much now, but still wish it was working fine.

Hello XDA,
I just tested the new Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1 (if you don't know: It could be found at the cm website for quite a while now Cyanogenmod, device page, look out for GSM /CDMA . I am pretty thrilled (as always) by it. I really like the ICS features like the lockscreen and the animations or, besides, integrated network debugging. I mean this is not new at all (adb wireless for example) but it's an intelligent feature to integrate into the rom (especially as a developer). Its pretty good.
What do you all think about this rom? Have you already tried it?
The rom is good. I'm waiting for the next nightly release.
I had some problems with this nightly ... it forces many closes and reboots. Before installation i did a full wipe, cleared cache.
Now i switched to DK ICS Rom again.
But there i got problems too. Formatting /system in CWM manually solved my problems for the ICS-ROM. Perhaps someone could test, if it helps for problems on 7.2-nightlies too.
I'm very satisfied with it I'm using it since the release day and it's working flawless. Very stable no FC or anything like it. The animations and the ICS lock screen is what I really like also the performance is slightly better (I didn't benchmark it but I just have this feeling )

Have you wiped the Dalvik cache as well? As usual there are problems if you forgot to wipe it. This sound like I'm questioning a noob but don't be mad, it's just better to check something twice, then to have an unresolved issue.
For me, CM7.2 RC1 is the best room, the stability is good and the customization is excellent.
I'm also running 7.2 RC1 but after reading this topic I'm a bit confused, what ICS lock screen are you guys talking about? for me the lockscreen option haven't changed compared to 7.1:

When I was talking about the ICS lock screen I had in mind the option under the Settings>CyanogenMod Setting>Lockscreen>Style Options>Lockscreen Style>Ring option and then in the same menu under the "Ring-Lock Style" choose "Holo Style" which has the look of ICS lockscreen
Here is an image of it

Ah thank you, i didn't notice the extra options once you choose the ring style ...cool.
The only issue I have with CM7.2 RC1 is Wi-Fi connection. When I started my wifi it connects to the hot spot it obtain the IP address but the is no internet connection. Sometimes I just turn of and on the WiFi and it's working but sometimes I have to reboot my phone. I'm not sure where lies the problem, whether is the phone or my home hotspot (usually there are no problems with my PC to connect so I'm more sure to be the phones fault)

Hi,
The CM7.2RC1 seems to be quite good.
However, I have lost brightness control completely. Notification power button is not working and when trying go to Display in Settings I am getting FC.
I upgraded from CM7.1.0 (stable) without wipe out.
Anyone have similar issue?
Nevermind. Just updated to ICS and things looks so much nicer, despite the camra and theter are not working yet.
Wifi Issues
CM 7.2 RC1 is almost flawless. The only issue I've had is connecting to Wifi. The connection is SLOW and times-out often. It doesn't matter where I'm at, or who's wifi I'm on, and I have checked the D/U speeds with other devices to confirm it's working... so I'm pretty sure it's a ROM issue. I haven't been able to find any fixes, yet.

SD Card Problem
Hallo guys. Hope you can help. So I flashed this rom and everything seems to be working fine. I set it up just the way I want it so I decided to do a nandroid backup. Now after I reboot it seems to be stuck in the "preparing sd card" stage. I'm sure this has been addressed before but I can't seem to find the right thread here. Can anyone point me to the right direction? Thanks!
I'm using CM72RC1 on BravoC. With stock kernel, gps locking is little longer. I change the kernel with CronModKernel, gps locking is faster.
Right now, I didn't have CM72RC1 stock kernel. Could someone tell me where to download it?

Hey folks,
I've been searching for answer to this problem for a while and haven't been able to find a thread that answers my questions. If there is one that I couldn't find, I'd appreciate a link.
I installed CM 10.2 on my D710. After a bunch of issues with it (couldn't get CWM to run, had to use AGAT to install CM, which then brought along a version of CWM that does work), I finally got everything up and running, but 4G isn't available (3G works fine, if a bit slower than I remember, but I've not run any speed tests). I've gone to the #*#*4636*#*# menu and tried every preferred network type – it defaults to WCDMA Preferred, which, if I understand correctly, means 3G only, but even when I set it to LTE Only, for example, there's still no 4G. I've also flashed pretty much every JB modem (and some ICS ones too) I could find (thanks rwilco12!); with some, I couldn't get 3G or voice to work, but even with those that do, 4G just isn't there. No mention anywhere in the system settings menus, nothing.
My best guess at this point is that it's an APN issue, but that's just based on what I've read elsewhere. I also haven't been able to find instructions on how to modify APNs on this device, or what the APN settings really do.
Any help on this would be much appreciated – this is my first time posting, but I've benefitted greatly from the forums in the past. Hope someone here can help me out.
4G Wimax was removed from the source code in 4.3 and up (KitKat has no Wimax as well). CM10.2 is Android 4.3, that means no 4G for us unless you are using 4.2.2 (CM10.1) and below. And no there is no way around it. Google did this because no Wimax device will ever have official 4.3 so they decided to trim down the code.

No, no way around it. The source code is gone. Unless you know somebody who works for Google on Android and happens to have the missing source code, don't count on it. Yeah CM10.1 still has 4G Wimax.
Well okay then. Thanks for the help! Guess 10.1 it is, then.
Okay, I installed the 10.1 ROM found here. The mobile data settings now include 4G – but it still doesn't work. Modem is FL24. Any ideas for what to try next?

What do you mean by doesn't work? Doesn't turn on? Doesn't connect? Gives you an error? My suggestion is to Odin a stock ROM and make sure nothing is messed up hardware wise.
I'm not sure how to tell whether or not it turns on, but even once I enable it in the settings, I don't see a 4G icon in the status bar, either searching or connecting. It worked fine back on stock Android; I can certainly try to go back to that (although I haven't been able to find a ZIP, only .exe and I'm on Mac), but if I can stick with CM, I'd prefer to...

Go into System Settings, click on the 4G (may be under Mobile Data, it's been awhile since I've been on AOSP) and it should have a screen similar to this (screenshot is TouchWiz, but you get the point) this is how you'll be able to tell if it's turning on/scanning/connecting.
OK, that's what I thought. So I can turn it on, but no networks show up. It says Scanning, but never finds anything. I'm in downtown SF, so I think it's pretty unlikely that's the issue.
Have you had wimax before? On a touchwiz or AOSP ROM?
The wimax rollout was halfassed at best, multiple major markets never saw it cause LTE rolled out soon after.

If you go in to system updates through the settings and check for the update, you have 3 options, No Thanks, Download Later, and Download Now.
If you click No Thanks, the alert goes away. It will even state in the system update app that the last update (on June 30th, 2105) failed.
Download later allows you to choose a time that better suits you.
And of course Download Now, starts the process right now.
Hope this helps.

An update is rolling out for the LG G4 on Verizon, bringing a few features to owners, but nothing all that special. The software version is labeled as VS98611A.
Included is an enhanced Folio display while a call is taking place, an updated consistency for displaying contacts and non-contacts in the Dialer app, and an enhanced Advanced Calling feature. That’s it.

I'm using it cause... "auto upgrade"...
And all in all I'm ok with it but I'm experiencing one "bug" (see down below). Colors might be more saturated than before, but it's ok for me and it doesn't "hurt my eyes" as some describe it. I'm using the "natural" display mode and the display warmth slider is in the middle.
I read through the linked article a bit but it seams like the experience is very subjective or not all users experience this phenomenon or at least not as bad / strong.
-------
Since my upgrade to Android 12 I'm experiencing one quite annoying bug.
Background:
I'm using my device with the work profile to keep annoying apps at bay.
Using "Shelter" app.
Using "Aurora Store" in work profile to install apps.
No factory reset was performed since upgrade.
Not rooted.
Problem:
Since the upgrade to Android 12 I'm experiencing an quite annoying bug. Using the "phone" app (private profile) I have no sound and microphone sometimes. So I can't hear and can't be heard. If I'm activating the work profile and use the "phone" app (again from private profile) I suddenly have sound and microphone.
Fix / workaround:
Activate the work profile.
Another way to "fix" this problem is to reboot the phone.
After reboot it works for an undefined time. I haven't tested if the problem starts after using work profile and deactivating it again. I'm testing it and I'll try to not forget to post an update for others.
FYI:
If sound from other apps does work, wasn't tested until now. If you need to call you normally have no time for testing, so reboot it was for me.
Tested solutions:
Tested some general "solutions" from REDDIT & Co.
Editing settings in "Sound & vibration" -> "Audio effects": recommended -> "activate Dolby ATMOS". Phone doesn't have that so i resetted the setting (after tapping "Audio effects" tap "Settings" at the bottom then tap 3 dot menu and tap "Reset")
- DIDN'T WORK
Suggestion: it's a carrier problem
Set network selection to manual and select your corresponding network.
- DIDN'T WORK
Deactivate or activate "Wi-Fi calling". (mine was activated so I deactivated it)
- DIDN'T WORK
Enable or disable "VoLTE". (mine was activated so I deactivated it)
- DIDN'T WORK
My questions:
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Has anyone found a solution?
Thanks
