Hello XDA,
I just tested the new Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1 (if you don't know: It could be found at the cm website for quite a while now Cyanogenmod, device page, look out for GSM /CDMA . I am pretty thrilled (as always) by it. I really like the ICS features like the lockscreen and the animations or, besides, integrated network debugging. I mean this is not new at all (adb wireless for example) but it's an intelligent feature to integrate into the rom (especially as a developer). Its pretty good.
What do you all think about this rom? Have you already tried it?
The rom is good. I'm waiting for the next nightly release.
I had some problems with this nightly ... it forces many closes and reboots. Before installation i did a full wipe, cleared cache.
Now i switched to DK ICS Rom again.
But there i got problems too. Formatting /system in CWM manually solved my problems for the ICS-ROM. Perhaps someone could test, if it helps for problems on 7.2-nightlies too.
I'm very satisfied with it I'm using it since the release day and it's working flawless. Very stable no FC or anything like it. The animations and the ICS lock screen is what I really like also the performance is slightly better (I didn't benchmark it but I just have this feeling )

Have you wiped the Dalvik cache as well? As usual there are problems if you forgot to wipe it. This sound like I'm questioning a noob but don't be mad, it's just better to check something twice, then to have an unresolved issue.
For me, CM7.2 RC1 is the best room, the stability is good and the customization is excellent.
I'm also running 7.2 RC1 but after reading this topic I'm a bit confused, what ICS lock screen are you guys talking about? for me the lockscreen option haven't changed compared to 7.1:

When I was talking about the ICS lock screen I had in mind the option under the Settings>CyanogenMod Setting>Lockscreen>Style Options>Lockscreen Style>Ring option and then in the same menu under the "Ring-Lock Style" choose "Holo Style" which has the look of ICS lockscreen

Ah thank you, i didn't notice the extra options once you choose the ring style ...cool.
The only issue I have with CM7.2 RC1 is Wi-Fi connection. When I started my wifi it connects to the hot spot it obtain the IP address but the is no internet connection. Sometimes I just turn of and on the WiFi and it's working but sometimes I have to reboot my phone. I'm not sure where lies the problem, whether is the phone or my home hotspot (usually there are no problems with my PC to connect so I'm more sure to be the phones fault)

Hi,
The CM7.2RC1 seems to be quite good.
However, I have lost brightness control completely. Notification power button is not working and when trying go to Display in Settings I am getting FC.
I upgraded from CM7.1.0 (stable) without wipe out.
Anyone have similar issue?
Nevermind. Just updated to ICS and things looks so much nicer, despite the camra and theter are not working yet.
Wifi Issues
CM 7.2 RC1 is almost flawless. The only issue I've had is connecting to Wifi. The connection is SLOW and times-out often. It doesn't matter where I'm at, or who's wifi I'm on, and I have checked the D/U speeds with other devices to confirm it's working... so I'm pretty sure it's a ROM issue. I haven't been able to find any fixes, yet.

That is unfortunate. I do not seem to suffer from this issue. ROM is indeed flawless. But I stopped beating around the bush and updated to Beta CM9
All is perfect but wifi isnt as good as 7.1 but the difference isnt great.

SD Card Problem
Hallo guys. Hope you can help. So I flashed this rom and everything seems to be working fine. I set it up just the way I want it so I decided to do a nandroid backup. Now after I reboot it seems to be stuck in the "preparing sd card" stage. I'm sure this has been addressed before but I can't seem to find the right thread here. Can anyone point me to the right direction? Thanks!
I'm using CM72RC1 on BravoC. With stock kernel, gps locking is little longer. I change the kernel with CronModKernel, gps locking is faster.
Right now, I didn't have CM72RC1 stock kernel. Could someone tell me where to download it?

The next nightly build should have a fix to speed up the GPS lock.
http://review.cyanogenmod.com/14644
Flashed 7.2 over my previous nightly.. it's stuck on the boot screen for like 6 minutes now..
Gonna reset it and see what happens.
EDIT:
Works after pulling out the battery and restarting.. probably just some weird glitch.

This is a DZ/G2 port of the leaked ROM from the HTC Doubleshot (TMOUS_1.01.531.1, new Sense 3.0 device), provided by 911 Sniper. This ROM is a work in progress but is now in a usable state. Unlike the Sensation port, the Doubleshot's resolution matches that of our devices, so this is a substantial improvement.

Features
Based on Doubleshot (myTouch 4G Slide) TEST ROM 1.01.531.1, ported for Vision.
All device hardware should be fully functional.
Uses select libs/bins from the Gingerbread leak for G2/DZ (2.30.405.1)
Kernel 2.6.35.10 from the Gingerbread leak for G2/DZ.
Camera, camcorder fully functional (thanks eViL).
Over 100MB of bloatware removed.
Relocated Market-available applications to /data/app.
Applications optimized to reduce size and increase performance (thanks rafyvitto).
Massive APNS list.
Replaced boot animation from this thread (thanks cypis).
Installation
You must be perm rooted with and Clockwork Recovery installed (i.e. s-off).
Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM, in case you change your mind or encounter issues.
Apply the zip via Clockwork Recovery. It has not been tested with any other recovery.
Expect the first boot to take anywhere from 6-10 minutes. The lengthy first boot time is due to the dexopts process and installation of /data/apps. Subsequent reboots should be significantly quicker.
After initial install, allow a few minutes for all ROM-provided applications to appear. Some are installed post-boot using package manager.
Known Issues
The default USB connected mode is "Disk Drive" rather than "Charge Only".
Auto brightness is enabled by default and does not adjust properly. You will probably want to disable it.
Using Menu -> Personalize from the launcher brings up T-Mobile's settings app, which does not work correctly. Simply press and hold on any unused area of the desktop to launch HTC's personalization.
Landscape mode does not render properly for the Launcher. It works, just does not look right.
There are various harmless graphical quirks present. Keep in mind this port is based off a TEST release, so this should be expected.
Lockscreen shortcuts do not work. The implementation seems incomplete in this build.

Thanks! I'll test it tonight to see what is working and what is not.
nice job rnk didnt even hear it was released
Well done RMK, this looks like a sweet ROM. I believe I might wait until a stable release is available, and any issues resolved.
Is the data connection indicator stock or is that custom. I don't prefer the Gingerbread arrows over the E/3G/4G-H icons, is there a way to change them to Sense style? If not I might need to make some changes in the framework & whip something up.
Either way, nice work.

My first suggestion right off the bat is to replace the launcher with rosie, damn ugly blocks
First of all: Nice work!
A first overview:
The ROM feel fairly smooth and most hardware is working. I'm just having minor issues with bloatware apps like face recognition.
As soon as that's cleared up, everything is usable.

not sure if it has to do with the music FC but if I try to select a ringtone it will FC , i can't take a screenshot of the FC popup. other wise this rom looks great!
Edit: also, the swipe to dismiss is not working, it will move to the side but either go back or it woll select the thing I'm trying to dismiss
Yeah, why is it now a Sprint optimus? there are actually LESS apps for this now! is there a way to change it back to optimus v or to a sprint phone with more apps?
The pic is what i got when I went to the market on my computer with the same account as my phone, but in the phone settings it does say its the virginmobile one?
i can't set a notification sound. When i goto System Settings > Sound > Notification Ringtone > then click android system to select the sound the phone reboots.
Looks sweet I gotta try it

How well does it run (speed and smoothness) compared to CM7.2 from the various sources posted here?
i really enjoyed this ROM. the only issue i had was that my 3G just randomly stopped working about 3 days after the ROM was installed. i tried toggling data, airplane mode, cdma, everything and it wouldn't work, so i flashed back to IHO.
i do miss it though.

from what ive seen, its ****ing FAST! I had it running for 3 days before I realized I didn't even overclock it yet! very smooth also, some bugs but worth it.
best part has to be the keyboard, I can type about 30% faster, it just works better
rom is super fast compared to iho. i can actually text and listen to music at the same time. Only bugs i've noticed is google music doesn't work, can't set a notification/ringtone sound and when you click on the updater another force close. Im giving it a couple more days tell i flash back to iho, hopefully the notification sound will get fixed so i can stick with this rom

If you use an app like zedge, you can set your ringtone and notifications sounds from within the app and it works just fine.
Has anybody been able to figure out how to be able to swipe a notification away without the pull down menu going away? Kinda annoying to have to pull it down again to swipe each notification.
Liking it alot overall though...fast compared to IHO CM7. Any chance some type of updater app can be implemented similar to the Backside Updater found on the CM7 build? that would be a great feature for this awsome ROM. Thanks for all the hard work

Remember that I made a GB2.3.3 Gaming ROM cause GB2.3.5 have multitouch issue in games eg. Nova, Sandstorm it's like playing on a keyboard with a broken mouse, whenever you try to look right thumb, while left thumb is still on screen it will look only once then unresponsive.
We'll if your still on m1ndh4x8r roms or other GB2.3.5 roms, and likes to play gameloft games without problems, I have made a fix in the kernel that would remove this problem, and fix two thumbs simultaneous use, and not worry about hitting your enemy while running.

the important thing is after unlock, it work normally.
So, i dont know its a hardware problem or because the ROM?
any way to fix that? Thank
Sorry for bad english
For your information it is not related to kernel or rom, it is your digitizer that is broke
search google "wildfire s digitizer".
Also I don't have that problem in any rom or my rom.
better luck next time

Hi i have a problem with this kernel not with the fix itself but after flashing this kernel each time that i try to turn the WiFi it says error and does not connect
Can you make a fix?
This just doesn't work at all when I tried it with CM7. It essentially broke the touchscreen - wasn't working at all. Artefacts were also coming up on the screen
cm7 is has a different kernel from sense. this is for sense only. also if you have wifi issues the zip wasnt flashed right. flash it 2x to be sure it overwrited the files.
Well, not editing since there were quite a number of replies.
It works much better than before, thanks ! It used to lag like as fu*k when unlocking the screen, and sometimes just randomly. Now it still has glitches and some slow times, but nothing compared to before. Nice job !

Thanks a lot for this! Flashed this kernel after doing a nandroid backup. With your latest GB2.3.5 stable / premium features rom it works fine, showing a lot more governors and i/o schedulers to choose from.
It seems that with this kernel I need to reduce OC one step. It seems to be more hardware demanding...
Had to reduce from 806 to 787 MHz in order to complete Antutu latest version benchmark. If I don't reduce OC, Antutu freezes at 7% testing (cpu).
Quadrant doesn't freeze phone and doesn't force me to remove battery...
Tomorrow I will test the gaming abilities of this kernel and will post results as soon as I can.
Thanks again for your constant work.
Edit: gave up using this kernel due to cpu instability.

Because of the multitouch in AirHockey game. It's wrote that it fixes it.. but nope.. And after flashing the kernel back all my data was deleted. However I've already reflashed mindhexer's ROM and now I'm ok
I tested this, and the multitouch works great, and the overall touchscreen experience is much better. However, this kernel's underclock is higher than my old one (m1ndh4x8r's) and my device freezes randomly. Also, there is a bug where the sound goes to mute and you can't bring the volume back up until the phone lets you do it (15 minutes - half an hour later). Not worth a better score in Fruit Ninja, in my opinion, but if you can fix these bugs it'd be a great replacement kernel
does it have overclock to 825mhz
really fix my multi-touch issue cool and i love it
Can somebody upload this somewhere else?

All cm based ROMs lag all over the place for me.
Omni based ROMs seem smoother but not lag free (the animation to quick settings and pull down notification is smooth).
Give OmniMetal a try.

I have tried most of the 4.4.2 roms and haven't had this issue. So far the most stable has been shiny rom 1/04/14. I have tried liquid but that still had to many glitches and cmmetal was a battery hog.

in my opinion, is caused by the signal icon, because there is no lag in wifi ... so I tried to change the signal icon and the problem is gone .... recommend changing signal icon with zipthemer ....

Yes, i have statusbar lags too! Especially when i switch between notifications and quick settings tiles.
Few things:
1. This happens on EVERY 4.4 ROM - CM, AOKP, Mokee, Gummy etc...
2. ONLY OmniMetal by @metalspring doesn't have this lag
3. Kernel doesn't matter - ASKP, Fancy, Golden, stock... Always i have lag.
4. Rest of interface works very smooth (i guess on every 4.4 ROM) but i can see this lag on statusbar and this is annoying
Even on CM Nightly 01/07 (in changelog i can see statusbar changes but...)
Guys, this is some problem in KitKat sources.

I have to contradict you, even the omni present lag after a while .... anyway are trifles, I for now I solved it using another signal icon, however, are small bugs that will be fixed ... as you say too .. kitkat is still young
sent by zio...?

I hope that devs will fix that ASAP but for now they are not completely responding on this issue
I agree even I have noticed this lag on all KitKat ROMs and it really bugs me a lot.

recommend changing signal icon with zipthemer ....
** example on the rom I submitted (AOSP Linaro) I changed my signal icon and the lag is gone ... it works on all roms

Can you please point out to a thread that has signal mods or upload the zipthemer compatible mod you already have with you? I am searching by my own but I can't find any that match the white theme of KitKat. And this lag is the only reason I'm still on 4.3.1 . Thanks.
Edit: First of all, zipthemer gives an error stating that SystemUI.apk does not exist (also tried different options for signal icons but it doesn't work), and moreover the lag persists when either Wifi is switched on but not connected to any network or the Wifi is not switched on (H+). 4.3.1 here I go again >.<
hey everyone,
I've been running the latest build of the Hood Pope rom since Nov and i haven't had any problems with the phone. Out off the different roms and versions of a rom, this has been the best. i recently started experiencing a problem; during calls when the screen goes black the caller can no longer hear me. On the other hand, i can hear them fine. I constantly have to wake the screen with the power button, or keep the phone off my ear so the proximity sensor doesn't kick in and dim the display.
I have been searching and the only discussion similar to my problem from another site turned out to be a hardware issue. I have reset the app cache and settings. I checked the dialer app permissions but i haven't denied anything. No recently installed apps that would need dialer permissions. I dropped my phone, i believe a week or so ago, 3 1/2 ft inside my house, phone does have a case.
i don't know what else to do besides going through the ritual of wiping and reinstalling the rom. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Are you using gravity screen off....if so. Check the box for it not to work while in call. If not using this...I would reboot recovery and wipe cache and dalvik...if problem still persist. You need to do a fresh install. If that doesn't work. I would Odin back to stock 4.1.2 and insure its not a hardware issue...
Good luck..

Not sure about gravity screen off, I haven't stumbled across that setting unless its hidden somewhere. As far as the rest proposed solution im holding off as last resort at this point but i fear that's the route i will have to take soon.
Thanks
Not a hardware problem.
This has happened to a number of people running earlier version of CM10.1 as well.
Try flashing the official CM10.2 nightlies. If problem still occurs, ODIN back to stock.
Not all phones will run a custom ROM perfectly, even though they are of the same device.

My bad...it could be. I have the pro version...
High voltage is right though....not all ROMs run the same. I have never had this problem with cm10.1...but I only ran it a little. But I can tell you that my boost variant hates aokp...and it makes me mad..Lol. But my galaxy tab 10.1 loves aokp...go figure...
Hope you get it sorted out...

Good to hear that its not a hardware problem, i was afraid that minor drop might have caused it somehow.

Yea i think 3 months was long enough for me without having to wipe dalvik, i was pleased with how well the rom ran and brushed it off. But you can only go so far before something acts up that will require wiping and reinstalling something.

Haha yea, when i first started rooting i enjoyed flashing different roms but it eventually became a hassle so i stay away unless i absolutely have to or there is a must have feature implemented within lol. I will keep your reference in mind if i decide to try something different.
