So, i don't have a tv. But I want to get a ps3. Can I play ps3 on my epic somehow?
Odds are, no, you will never be able to, the ps3 has a 3.6ghz 8 core processor, we have a single core 1ghz processor.
I believe he was asking if he could hook up his PS3 to his Epic somehow as it were the TV. (i.e. output the PS3's video to our Epics)
But to answer the question, based on my knowledge, no. We dnt even have TV out working, I doubt our Epic's would be capable to output an outside video source. Many of our Devs wouldn't find this convinient either, so I doubt any of them would attempt to find a way to do this

3.2Ghz not 3.6Ghz but yeah highly unlikely the only thing i can come up with would be like a remote play kinda like the PSP has?
why not connect your ps3 to your pc or laptop.. just go to a radioshack, bestbuy, or computer/electronics store and get the adapter. thats it. i've seen it done.

Actually our processors are 1.2ghz but samsuck underclocks them stock.

While it may/may not *exist* it could happen or be ported in the future. How much of a mammoth task that'll be to undertake is a different story.
How? The PS Vita will be an Android devices which will allow a function similar to this, how it works, we're still uncertain of, but say it's as simple as an APK, say that apk was decompiled, then a big fat MAYBE If we had that hypothetical apk ported over with the correct libs alongside it. THEN you'd see some sort of PS3 on your epic, optimized for portability. As someone else said, if you're looking for nice portable console graphics right now on your epic, onlive is the way to go for now.

They probably do it as a compromise to the terrible Qualcomm radio chips that love to overheat when your downloading 3g/4g or tethering.

Kinda but the main reason for them to under-clock em is that well they do it to most processors in phones. they mainly do it so they can save a bit more battery and to compromise with where the market was i mean think it about it. 1.2GHz in 2010? 2011? yes. they don't want to advance to much so yea.......... Some phones have overclock from the manufacturer lol. But most phones nowadays are rated higher but under-clocked.

Really???? The PSP Vita has a Quadcore Processor @ 1GHz (ARM® Cortex™- A9 core (4 core)), GPU: SGX543MP4+ (200MHz)
In a sense good luck trying to port something thats so demanding to something thats never apt up to those specs haha.
Maybe once we get phones that are quadcore yes we know we are going to get them but they need to perform at high levels and sustain a cool temp. for the gpu which will be hard as it is with even dual core.

heres the playstion site about it, i got the chance to play with one but its not all that. The original Psp's were better except the PspGo that utterly sucked.
http://us.playstation.com/psvita/tech-specs/
And when i was playing around with it it was okay but a lot bigger than expected and the dual analog stick are alright but nothing to excited to get all happy about and the touch screen is mainly used only when not in a game, i mean i used during but it sucked not great for Shooters. And the lowdown is the newer XMB (Homescreen) isn't that great its more like someone threw icons on a table and said good luck finding stuff. because it seriously is all scrambled and you can slide up and down and yadadadada. The price for hardware is a good damn deal but for what its worth ehhhhhhhhhhh??? Not too sure on that.
PSP VITA:
1GHz Quad-Core A9
GPU is rated @ 200Mhz which is what are phones are stock and we have the ability to push it further
Multi-Touch Screen (OLED) (960 x 544) (5" Screen)
Dual analog sticks
Front and Rear Cameras
Built in GPS & WiFi
IEEE 802.11b/g/n
Bluetooth® 2.1+EDR (A2DP/AVRCP/HSP)
And other PSP VITA Versions:
$249.99 Has only WiFi
$299.99 Has 3G/WiFi
$349.99 Has a bundle kit with both 3G/Wifi
The 3G and WiFi version is AT&T's 3G Service
Also the PSP VITA is backwards compatibility and can play PS3 Games.
Regardless as a system its worth the money. As the UI goes its got some troubling issues haha. But can be fixed through an update im sure.
Only wished it had 4G too....BUMMER
Whatever I have my phone for the 3g why the hell would I need to spend 50-100 bucks more psh wifi hotspot ftw.
I love those hardware spec would love it more had they put an android os on or had possibility to. Id probably use it more for emulators most psp games are crap anyways and my phone can only handle 1.5ghz on n64 for so long.

Well like i said you can play ps3 games
So that's a big deal and your phone can only handle it for so long but this psp is a quad core it wont take so much pressure it has 4 cores to do work instead of pushing it to only one.
Plus so when your on the road and not near a WiFi Hotspot you can play like that instead of killing your phones battery just to play. plus its more reliable versus going through a tether.
Anyhow still a good product for the money but i wish the UI was a bit better and please PSP DEVS have more power than android does lol. I know because iv'e seen at first sight and hand. Regardless i'm sure they can put Android OS on it or whatever.

All we can do is have similar GPU clock rates but other than that we lose haha. Quadcore defintly wins unless we could overclock our phones to 5Ghz which would never happen lol
The first emulators I've tried were of the "oid" variety. Work fine, except the game boy advance needs work. They were free, so I'm not complaining. I also like fpse for PlayStation, although without touchpad support, it is a little lacking. I think I might start trying the psxperia method later on.
For neogeo, I was trying neodroid out, but it is a little too choppy for my tastes, and a little finicky too. Then I tried the neo.emu emulator. And boy, am I impressed with it! It was based on the same source as neodroid, but the scaling and framerate are superb in comparison. It was a bit of a pain to get it set up as you have to have perfect parent copies of all roms (bios included), and I didn't have that at first. But the developers website had the information I needed to get started, and it is some nearly perfect emulation.
I haven't tried emulating cps2 yet, but I'd like to start. I heard the developer of neodroid has created cpsemu, and that might do the trick, but after comparing his neogeo emulator to the neo.emu one I dunno if I can be satisfied if it is a similar experience for his cps2 jaunt. I heard a website gave cps2hd a good review but haven't heard from any users on here.
What are you guys using, have you tried them all? What do you think is the best? I think I might go try out the .emu guys other emulaters, and if they are in par with his neogeo one, I'll bug him to develop one for cps2. Then dream about Saturn and dreamcast/naomi.

I don't know if this has been asked before in depth, but Metal Slug 3 runs like crap on my Galaxy S3. The game starts fine, then it gradually slows down, and finally freezes. The same is true for Blazing Star. It plays fine initially, slows down, and then freezes. I don't know if this problem is exclusive to me, or if everyone with a Snapdragon S4, US variant Galaxy S3 is experiencing these issues. No one at the Play Store mentions it. Is this a real problem, exclusive to me ,or just an optimization issue.
Not that I think it's connected in any way, but I'm running the latest Free Sonic ROM, released on Friday.

Play SNK games on Emulator instead and you will never get slow speed, and they are all free including Metal Slugs.
I'm not playing it on a Neo Geo emulator. I'm playing SNK's official android port. It's really inexcusable. I'm sure there will be an update where the freezes are addressed. The Galaxy S3 is the most popular phone right now, so if the issue is prevalent, it will be addressed with an update.
Yes the Mali is somewhat better, but it isn't anywhere near a night and day difference. I haven't seen any benchmark or real world application where the Mali 400 spanked the Adreno 225. Truth be told, right now the Adreno can handle any current android game with ease. In my opinion, optimisation is the key.

Yeah Mame Reloaded.Go to Emuparadise and download Final Fight(World) and see if it works. You can set your own rom directory in settings toh, dont unzip the files but place the zip in rom directory.
The other version of Mame is good too, they just use different rom sets.Reloaded has better compatibility.
Just place Final Fight zip in rom directory and start the app,it should work. When you see that it does then you can download more roms. And you can use ps3 or wii controlers with it.
You will need this zip that i made for neogeo roms www.4shared.com/zip/ZWYvtdxA/neogeo.html .
Download the other Mame4Droid(0.37b5) and put the neogeo.zip in rom directory. After this you can download any neogeo rom from Emuparadise and it will work.
Also try other emulators they have n64,sega cd and genesis, snes and turbografix 16 are best ones.

I have the same problem (graphics slow to a freeze, but music plays fine) with Blazing Star and Metal Slug 3 on my Nexus running CM10 on a Galaxy Nexus. I don't think I had that issue with Metal Slug 3 under CM9. It could be an ICS vs. JB thing, especially considering JB's focus was graphics running buttery smooth (and having the opposite effect here).
I have the same problem here. No one from the play store seems to be complaining and I think it could specific to galaxy s3 running jb.
Funny thing is metal slug one and two world like a charm and can't imagine how much more complex the third instalment could be...
I'm not first nor last who is asking that question, but now, with the quad-core Tegra 3 phones it could be possible to emulate PSP (or even PS2).
So, is there/anyone working on something of that kind?
And please, don't flame me, I'm aware of another simmilar threads, but none of them are "fresh" ones.
i'm pretty sure this is the answer:
the resources that would be needed to emulate the ps2s hardware is too much currently. i think unless somebody wrote a specific tegra 3 ps2 emulator, it *might* be possible, but even then wouldn't be perfect. there would be framerate drops etc etc.
i know theres some for pcs, but obviously pc cpus/gpus are a bit more mature, and obviously have specific instruction sets etc that can be utilized more efficiently.
Nope, not even the more powerful SGS III can do that. Up till now, only PS One can be emulated.

As for psp and ps2 emulation is very primitive on the pc right now so I don't expect a emu any time soon on android and fyi my buddies i5 desktop pc can barely run ps2 games at full speed. I don't expect an android device to get close to that.

Yeah, you're right, even in PCSX2 on my 3,1 GHz i5 & Radeon HD6870 machine with 8GB RAM are some games pretty slow sometimes. But I'm using some graphics enhancements (like antialiasing etc.), so I was thinking about original PS2-like graphics...
Nevermind, it was just an idea. I should sleep more and think less.
I should've been happy for PS1 emulator right now.
Hello all,
Have been trying to get this emulator working for some time now with limited to half decent success through the likes of overclocking and reduced thermal throttling, but the experience has never been what I would call satisfactory, which is horrible because the emulator works on the shield and PC...
That being said enter the Oneplus 5
Installed the emulator from here https://dolphin-emu.org/download/?ref=btn (development versions)
Already have the game so i'm legally entitled to the ROM *NOTE* Please do not ask me to list locations where you can obtain the ROM, you should own the original before obtaining a copy
Changed the settings within the emulator and fired up the Windwaker, waited until a part of the game where it would normally lag or at the very least drop some frames and ........... perfection I've been able to play the game up until Dragon Roost Island without a single drop in performance, the HTC failed on the second island (Can't remember it's name but it's in the video) The onplus 5 has some serious power over other devices and this is testament to exactly that, a few more iterations from Qualcomm and i'm confident we'd have the grunt to be able to power some serious PC games, hell that old question of "Can it run Crysis" may be being asked soon Good times.
Anyway.
Below are instructions on how to play this game on your phone, I'm personally using a Moga controller as the experience is just waay better with a pad.
##########################################################################################################################
The Emulator
Download the Emulator from here https://dolphin-emu.org/download/?ref=btn (development versions)
Obtain the ROM (Again I can't provide this)
Copy the ROM in Zip format to your SD card
Fire up the Emulator and then compare your settings to the ones found in the video
Moga
If you are going to use a Moga controller you will need to set this up so it is using HID Bluetooth, for this you would choose B not A
Open Bluetooth and add the controller that is found, should be called Moga Pro if you have a pro, or the other names respectively if you have other variants
*NOTE* the original moga pocket does not seem to want to work on the Oneplus 5, this worked on my HTC 10 but actually kills BT on the oneplus? Weird
Next download the Moga Universal Driver app which can be found from here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.obsidianx.android.mogaime
*NOTE* for some reason i couldn't find it on my play store so use the above link? Again, weird!
Click Manage controllers and you should see your previously added controller, click this and then enable the driver
Click Enable Driver
Click Current mode and select Gamepad, no virtual keyboard
You should now be able to control the cursor on screen
Lastly
For in game settings, please refer to the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhgNxuu_YlM&t=8s
Apologies in advance, the HTC RE i used for the video does not focus well on screens? (what do you want for £40 ) and my mogas right stick is a bit icky so it doesn't always input up and down, using the Windwaker will be horrible for me i can tell
Anyway, enjoy and feel free to ask questions should you get stuck and I'll help out where I can.

PS2 isnt' quite there mate, it's laggy and thats down to the architecture of the PS2 and emulating it is a massive ballache, similarly the PS3 even on a monster PC has a hard time being emulated.
It'll be done over time with optimizations but i fear that our trusty Oneplus devices may never have that ability.
But to be fair, the fact that it can run the windwaker is testament to how rapid this device actually is, PSP too, not as well optimized but it's running perfectly well.

Technically this is still warez. Nintendo explicitly states on their website the falsehood of owning a physical game entitles you to have a rom. They said this is still illegal to own a rom and use it im an emulator.
Dont mean to ruin a good time on here but you can get in trouble. Heres a link since i know it will be asked for https://www.nintendo.com/corp/legal.jsp

If i bought the game, i have the right to use it. Using it on my Wii, on my PC, or on my OP5 is the same IMO.

I haven't stated where to get ROMs from, plus you could dump the ROM yourself, I'm pretty certain you are legally entitled to a copy of a game you already own, I'm also certain you can download a ROM for evaluation purposes, 24 hours is the allowed time.
Obviously people don't listen to this but I have read this many times over the last decade, so unless something has changed I will always stick to what I've learned.
Not completely sure Nintendo can ask that of people? But again not sure.
PS: also as you already own the game there is no harm in obtaining a copy, they have already been paid and you the user haven't gained anything more than what you initially paid for, there is an argument for this so I'd say it's an on the fence rule.
Either way, this thread is a how to and not a break the law thread, I don't supply the locations of ROMs and I don't make anyone download anything illegal, this is simply information.
