Hey guys, so I just installed Cm7 on my r800x play, it was a pain, but I finally got it. Everything on there seems to be working fine except the gamepad and camera. All of the Xperia Play Optimized apps that I have won't work with the gamepad. The arrows still work but those work in any game. The camera also doesn't work but I was told there was some patch to fix that. Does anyone know how to fix the gamepad? I can probably get the camera myself.

Just wondering, is over clocking to 6ghz safe?

6ghz :| ? You could possibly fry your phone in less than a second haa!
I wouldnt advice you to go past 1.5Ghz
LOL clearly means 1.6

Yea sorry about that I did mean 1.6 lol. But now I went back to the stock rom and Im using DoomLord's 2ghz kernel. Is that safe?
It's not safe, you'll end up getting your phone. 1.6 is probably the best threshold.

If you have doomkernel or any other kernel with cpu voltage changing enabled, download IncrediControl and set all of your CPU voltages to the lowest values. Your phone will restart faster than you blink your eyes

What are the main things I should know about the Xperia Play?
(In terms of Rooting and Bootloader Unlocking etc)
I'm coming from an Xperia 8 and I'm not a n00b at Android hacking so I can take a lot in.
Also, is there any bug in the Play that I should know about? I'm hoping that by the time I get mine (2 weeks) it will. Come shipped with ICS.
If not, I can use PCC ....right?
Thanks guys,
Really looking forward to joining the R800i community.
Anything guys?

It probably won't come with ICS. However, if you unlock your bootloader (free using Sony's official method if you have an R800i) we have an official ICS beta from Sony. It's perfectly stable for everyday use. There are also a few roms based on it.
We can't flash kernels from recovery so get used to using fastboot. It's actually pretty simple.
Be aware that the gamepad doesn't work properly in non-stock based roms - CM7 for example. Sony's stock rom is actually quite good anyway once you've de-bloated.
Other than that it's just another Android phone really

Yea, don't worry. I'm used to flashing kernels and backups in Flashtool from my X8 , so fast boot shouldn't be too hard, but I'll have have to learn more about it as we don't have that over on the X8....
Also, its a bit of a bummer that the game pad doesn't work on custom ROMs :/
But just as a matter of interest, does the game pad work on the ICS Beta and can the game pad or
down arrow be used for scrolling on web pages?
And I'm also very surprised that Sony have given access to a Boot loader Unlocking tool!
Anyway, thank you very much for your reply.

Gamepad works fine on the official beta, although some games don't perform as well as they do in GB.
Yes, D-pad can be used for scrolling web pages
If I were you I'd flash the Sony beta ICS with the Sony kernel. Unless you like games, then I'd flash the latest Gingerbread ROM. Emulators (especially PSXperia) work better with GB.

Ya I love that game. All you have to do is get off ICS. I love that game and GTAIII.But for some reason a LOT of games don't work on ICS.Thats the main reason I went back to GB. I have a lot of kids and they always wanna play them. Right now I'm on MIJJA 3.0 and it rocks. Since he updated the last el29 version it has all ICS animations, boot animation, CWM, plays all the gaming apps and no worries about bricking. Plus, all modems work with all ROMS and kernels. I'm on FD16 modem now. I'm currently trying to get some help making an AOSP lock screen mod for it. Ive already posted a crt mod for it. I really don't see b what the big deal is with ICS. Its really not all that better. We'll see what happens after source comes out. Oh and I got Sonic 2 running on my phone right.now.. He he he

I presume you're talking about triangle away by chain fire. I would say if you are on a ICS kernel and ROM that there is a chance since it messes with the boot loader but on ICS, give it a shot. I used it on FD02 and had no problems. Removed the triangle PERMANENTLY(i really couldn't tell you how) and reset my binary count to 0. i gotta warn you though do. NOT use it on .GB YOU WILL BRICK IF ON GB.

Well, it doesn't just *work*, you have to change some of the per app settings\individual app settings... something along those lines, I'm pretty sure for street fighter it was qualcomm. But for alot of games you have to set it to nvidia.
You can set it to use one of the plugins for everything in general, but i'd advise using the per app settings instead.
There's lots of other settings you can change but it's just something you can tinker with to get performance and graphics how you like them. It's a very useful app.
Along with mobile Odin, chainfire has created 2 of the most useful android apps around
Make a new folder under Android ... Should look like this .. Android/obb/the game data.. Should work. As it works for me

Ok so, I already own an Xperia Play R800x with Verizon Wireless. So I know what I'm in for.
Here's the story, about 2 months ago a local pawn shop had a Brand New Xperia Play 4G (AT&T) for $199.
So before I could buy it some other guy picked it up and got an extended warranty. BUT TODAY, the guy brought it back to the pawn shop, there is now a $49 price tag on it... sounds good right, here's the concern.
The guy told me he brought in the phone and said the phone randomly turns off, sometimes in 5 minutes, sometimes in 30...it just randomly turns off. I did not check if he had any custom roms on anything like that installed so assume it's stock.
So here's the question, what do you think is wrong with it? I myself have 2 theories, A: the battery is faulty. or B: the charging cord is inferior or not of the proper voltage....
What do y'all think??

From little research I've discovered when the cpu gets too hot the phone reboots....so perhaps he has something running in the background that triggers his phone to randomly goes off according to what apps and things he may be running?
Just based on what it sounds like I'd say it's a software issue but I also want people thoughts & input.
