I'm running the eg12 modem, eg30 stock kernel. I've tried to flash the el13 modem via CWM and it hangs. I tried flashing eg30 via odin and it hangs. Any ideas why my modem flashes hang? I want to eventually get to strongsteve's el13 rom with the eg02 or el13 modem. Any ideas? Should I flash the rom running my current modem and go from there, or should I do something else?
Nevermind. I flashed the rom and the modems are flashing now.

Your kernel+cwm needs to be ek02 or newer to flash full modems in cwm, otherwise it'll hang

i'm guessing maybe you haven't installed the DK28 modem? you will need that to use that or any Froyo rom.
ok so i installed dk28 with oden and now i can go unzip the file with cw3 right?
if you are rooted with CWM 3, and have the dk28 modem installed, then you can just flash the rom again in CWM.... no need to unzip. that should work, depending on what state your system is in after flashing the rom without having the modem installed.
Hey all,
I just loaded up FC07 TAR from Calk's thread into Mobile Odin and hit flash firmware. It seems to be stuck on "Flashing.... Rebooting into recovery" for about 3-4 minutes now. (seems frozen)
Is this supposed to happen right away? I'm rather new using Mobile Odin and don't want to prematurely battery pull/screw something up.
Thanks in advance.
Maybe a bad download? I've been using CWM to flash modems, no problems here.
Sent from my Galaxy S II, AOKP style.
Still stuck on this screen. I'm tempted to pull the battery but am not sure
So,
I ended up pulling the battery and booted into recovery manually. The process seemed to have finished but I'm still on my old modem according to "About phone."
Sigh
Does anyone have any advice with flashing modems in Mobile Odin?

Yeah I have advice ... it doesn't work on our phone.
I've tried flashing both modem.bin files (pulled from a ZIP) and modem.tar files, and I haven't been able to get any of them to flash. Mobile Odin goes through the process that seems successful, but upon reboot the baseband doesn't change. Also, the modem flash happens way too fast, which indicates that it didn't do anything.
Chainfire knows about it. For now, you'll need to use CWM or PC Odin to flash your modem.
Thanks man! That's the answer I was looking for!
PC Odin'd the modem successfully.

sir u r wrong i always flash the modem through mobile odin and i never had a problem seems like u either have the wrong file or its corrupted or u do not have root access.
I am using AOKP build 28 (newest i have to flash) on my epic 4g touch. when i try to flash a new recovery it goes back to stock with only 4 options. when i try to use odin i soft brick it. i can get back to my aokp but i cannot the gapps to install... i also tried the cm9 rom/kernel and i am still not getting anywhere... anyone got any ideas besides going only stock?
Just to clarify, what are you trying to flash by ODIN? And are you using Mobile ODIN or ODIN OC? (One-Click)
If you haven't already you may want to try the EL26 or EL29 stock + rooted. I believe SFHub also has a ODIN TAR with CWM repack available but will trigger the triangle. (May not be an issue for you, but just to make aware.)
I downloaded the .zip file for the upgrade from alpha3 to alpha4 off CM's website, put it on my SDCARD, booted into recovery - looks like stock recovery, (following the steps on CM website) then applied the zip -> it looks like its doing something for about 20 seconds then the little android guy dies and has a red triangle with an exclamation point coming out his stomach. What am I doing wrong?
baseband version: FE10
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-SPH-D710.FD10-CL377892
You need to be using a clockwork mod recovery to flash, stock recovery will not work.
First make sure you are rooted.
Next use either Odin 1.85 or Mobile Odin to flash the EL26 kernel.
Upon reboot, go into recovery mode using volume up+power. If you miss your chance to do so, just pull the battery and try to get into recovery again.
Using CWM, flash per the install instructions.
so do i just odin the kernel back to el26 w/ CWM? the reason i dont want to do a clean install is because i wodnt want to wipe my data. If i odin to EL26 w/ CWM do i need to go back to gingerbread?? Or is there a way i can sat on ICS and upgrade?
what if i used this kernel? [NEW][KERNEL] FE16 Repack with ACS recovery

If someone tells you how to do it safely, and you choose to do it your way done come crying when you brick, because it still says don't use recovery with ics kernels...

Do exactly what he said here... You're not going back to GB or wiping data. You're just re-flashing a CWM recovery. When you originally installed CM9 alpha 3, you used a CWM recovery. But the CM9 ROM re-flashes a stock recovery (which you can not use to upgrade from alpha3 to alpha4).
So all you do is Odin the EL26 kernel/CWM recovery image (phone in Download mode), and then you reboot and hold vol+ and power to get the phone into the CWM Recovery Mode. From there, you just install the CM9 alpha4, you don't wipe data or lose anything.
thanks man, it worked.
I am new to the forums and didn't want to make a new thread. I am having issues with the GPS (Maps App.) The app loads up i enter the destination i want to go to but it wont find my location where i am at. It just keeps searching for my location...
So i went ahead and downloaded another GPS app ( tele nav.) same issue. I was wondering is there a way to fix GPS issues on this rom? I would like to fix that issue..
anyone have a solution to fixing the GPS issue on this rom???
Trying to update my old E4GT to KitKat (CM11) for use as an MP3 player. I believe it was on OI23 before. I tried EL26 CWM, Agat, and finally attempted installing Philz Touch before it gave up this screen. Kies cannot connect to it, even after making sure proper drivers are installed and doing the connection troubleshooter.
Am I screwed? Did I encounter the infamous "superbrick"?

You should still be able to flash stock firmware via Odin in that state. Connect it and flash, provided that the battery is charged.

Ok I've gotten ODIN to recognize it again. Now how can I get to CM11? My biggest problem is finding a recovery that will work to flash it.
Here is a stock rooted ROM for d710 with CWM included in it, flash it via Odin and you'll be restored, rooted and have CWM.
http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Devices/Samsung%20Galaxy%20S2%20%28Sprint%29%20%28SPH-D710%29/Stock%20ROMs/GB/EL29/No%20Data%20Restore/Rooted
Then you'll need to flash an ICS modem or you won't be able to use Kit Kat custom ROMS(CM11), it is a .zip to be flashed in recovery the way a ROM is. Scroll to the bottom of the list and grab the last one. Flash it in recovery.
http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.p... Galaxy S2 (Sprint) (SPH-D710)/Modems/ICS/ZIP
Then you'll need to find a 4.3 custom ROM to flash to update the devices partition structure before flashing a 4.4+(CM11) ROM. The trick is going to be finding 4.3 and 4.4 ROMs, they are old ROMs and may not be available for download anymore. I'm trying to get the CWM that I used uploaded so you can use it, it flashed all of my 4.4 - 4.4.4 ROMs. I flashed everything with it. It's CWM 5.0.2.7 for sph-d710.

I'm back up and running with it. It's rooted but I don't have CWM, it's still the stock Android System Recovery so I can't flash anything.

You flashed the file I linked? It is supposed to have CWM packaged with it. Go to rwilco12's android repository, at the top of the page you'll see a downloads tab. Click it then select the options on that menu until you get to Galaxy S2>Sprint SPH-D710>kernels and you'll find the Odin flashable recoveries for E4GT.

I had an AGAT GB27 v1.3 from rwilco that I flashed to get a custom recovery, just flashed the FL24 modem with it. So I have EL29 software with FL24 modem. Ready to flash something newer now.
EDIT: And now it doesn't boot.

To get to Kit Kat, you've got to flash a 4.3 ROM then flash a 4.4 ROM. I'm not sure where you'll find one or if their are any available anymore.
There is CWM 5 or CWM 6 at rwilcos repository, its probably better than Agats

I have a CWM 5.0.2.7 in zip that I'm trying to upload to my Android File Host for you but its giving me issues uploading. I'll find a place to put it so you can get it, then flash it in Agat recovery.
Flash Agat recovery again, then flash the CWM I give you in Agat, then go back to main menu and find the "reboot recovery" option somewhere, I can't remember where its at in Agat, reboot recovery will boot you into the new recovery, do not boot to system then boot to recovery, it will revert to Agat and you'll have to flash CWM again and boot to it correctly to keep it.
