Stock and fast Gingerbread rom for desire hd? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Im searching for 100% stock looking gingerbread rom which is also very lightweight and fast. I would like cyanogenmod, but i hate the adw launcher and dont want to mess around with it. Im searching for a stable, completely stock looking, fast and lightweight rom. Something like cyanogenmod but with stock look.
Thanks

Have you try the latest Revolution HD rom?

Sorry but I'm searching for stock gingerbread Rom without sense UI like in nexus s

I dont want half sense half stock experience. I want full vanilla android gingerbread. No custom themes, launchers, apps and stuff. Just vanilla gingerbread like on nexus s.

So i did further research and found rom called desired aosp, that was exactly what i was looking for. But the problem is that its no longer maintained and it has bluetooth problem. Anyone can recommend something similair to what desired aosp rom had?

If you want as good as it gets Stock Rom, Try RCMix. Comes Super Stock Look, feel, & has the options to change small tweeks for personalized function like a battery percentage, the ability to turn on features like 3d effects, etc.
It also has awesome support by development, &other users.
Don't settle untill you've tryed the RCMix Rom.
I forgot, you wont see it on the front page, so here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1261721 or use rom manager to download a rom & find it in there under RCTeam RCMix. The Newest Version is in apparently in the finishing testing stages & should be available soon. These roms are released with minimal issues due to the extensive testing by the devs.

+1 for Cyanogenmod
Why don't use it and just use any launcher you like?

[Q] which ROM do you use w/ Launcher Pro?

so I love launcher pro....so sense or not doesn't really matter. Which ROM do you guys use if you use LP as a home screen?
I'm using uncommon sense right now, but not using half of the features since LP overrides them. Just looking for a quick ROM that doesn't have stuff i won't be using.
Thoughts?
I too am a LP fanatic. Try Lou's latest "senseless revolution". He has stripped the ROM of nearly all sense. Also try his kernal #4. This ROM is super smooth and has outstanding battery life.
I use CM 6.1. Works great.
Senseless Revolution with Cortland's Orange LP theme is nice.

Definitely the new senseless rEVOlution

I use Cyanogen 6.1 with Launcher Pro.
digging the senseless rom so far. not a fan of the kernel though. Havn't really used it all that much, but don't like that i can't overclock it. any suggestions??
I use the new IncRom version 1. Super fast, descent battery life. No bloatware. Obviously everyone likes different things. I've tried every Rom on sea for the inc and this continues to b my go to ROM. Happy hunting. Peace.

[Q] Stock Gingerbread ROM or anything similar...

Okay did the downgrade method, got S-OFF, permroot, unlock, everything!!
Now to do what I wanted to, get stock gingerbread or anything close to it on my phone? However, I searched around and I can only find ROMs based on Sense UI and I really do not like Sense...
Are there any stock Gingerbread ROMs or anything similar to the "Oxygen Gingerbread Rom" for the Desire?
And if there are none, then can I theme my current ROM to make it look like Gingerbread? There are many Gingerbread launchers in the Market however, I would like to have the black notification bar and the icons, ect.
Thanks!

This is how mine looks, Absolutly rocks))
Wanted to go for a Gingerbread Dark Sense look)

Gridlocks cm7 is straight from source with no tweaks so should be closer to official cm7 when released, phunkycow customises his, it's horses for courses really but I've stuck with Gridlocks build
Which is more stable? Sorry for the questions

Best MIUI ROM?

I would like to know everyone's opinion of the best MIUI ROM and why. I want to try one out but there are so many different kinds.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I've been happily using the MIUI.us release for a while.
MIUI is a Chinese ROM, the other ones are just translated versions of the same ROM with some minor changes. In ROM Manager, there's the original Chinese MIUI, MIUI.us, MIUI Android, and MIUI-PT.
MIUI.us is the most popular of the 3, haven't used MIUI-PT, but I'd assume it's not much different.
Not really much of a difference. There are a few that remove a few apps and such, but as far as settings and such I don't see much of a difference
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using XDA Premium App
Seriously that whole miui debacle is a mess. I don't even THINK of trying it because there are 13425 of them to pick from and barely any documentation on what makes them different! But honestly if i was gonna try it, it would be the official miui usa release. Or better yet i might just go buy an iphone
Meh.
I'd go with the MIUI.us version off of their site. Most frequently updated, less buggy, smooth, negligible speed difference between it and the other "optimized" versions of ROM Manager. Like mentioned above, some just add or remove some apps and other minor stuff. MIUI.us is the official "unofficial" MIUI translation, as mentioned on the chinese MIUI site.
It really doesn't matter which one you flash. Once you've installed the Simpson's theme, it's all money
Yeah just install MIUI.us through ROM Manager (The version on ROM Manager is up to date). It has the best english translation, and its the most used by far.
And I must say, MIUI is a very nice ROM, by far the most user-friendly. It has a somewhat iPhone-like UI, but much nicer looking. It's heavily customizable, but I'm quite fond of the defautl theme that's pre-installed with the latest MIUI.us
I personally prefer Cyanogenmod myself, but if I was going to choose a phone for a non-power user, it would be an Android phone, and I would install MIUI on it.
Thanks for all your replies. I understand there is no app drawer in MIUI if I'm not mistaken. I would like to know if there is a way to put this in the rom. Or an app that can do this or something similar because for me I need it to be organized. Thanks for your help in advance.

You can use any of the many different launchers that are available. My favourite is launcher pro. Or you could use adw, go launcher, stock gingerbread. Take you pick

This. If you want Tmo app drawerish and launcher, you could push Launcher2. I did that for awhile (break from cyanawesome)

MIUI.us Official with LauncherPRO will give you the best experience. I personally like the UI of MIUI and I don't miss the app drawer too much. It just takes a little getting used to. Plus, having 9 homescreens is pretty cool =p
Yeah, the default launcher with MIUI is more like the iphone launcher. All your app icons are on the many home screens. However you can easily install any other launcher, my favorite is Go Launcher.

I was wondering the whole 4 different versions of MIUI from Rom manager myself. I NEVER flash roms from Rom manager, only from recovery but I do download from Rom manager occasionally. I have been using MIUI.us WITH launcher pro. I LOVE the rom, but do not like the iphone launcher. An app drawer is a must for me, and I use too many widgets to use the default iphone launcher. I know you can use widgets on the default launcher but it's a lot easier with launcher pro to just long press and add them. I'm a big fan of Sense, have always stuck with it over CM7 (except on my Nook of course) but I figured I needed a change. So far MIUI is the most stable ROM I've EVER used outside of the stock rom (which isn't always stable......ask any VZW BB Tour owner when OS 5 was "officially" released).
Point is MIUI is a really great ROM. Many criticize it because it looks like an iphone at first, but with a new launcher, it's surely pure android. Enjoy.
you should just try one and see for urself... one thing i love about MIUI is how easy it is to customize the themes and the variety of themes available directly on the phone... not like CM where u have to find the theme in the forum or market... definatly give it a try

[Q] Good multilangauge ICS Rom for Desire?

I have just got my hands on an old HTC Desire.. And now I will play with ICS rom's
But....
Is there one ICS rom that is more stable than other=?
Is there a MULTILANGAUGE ICS rom ?
What ROM can you advise me to use ??
Hey !
I am currently using BCM R4.0, really impressive and smooth !!
From my former tests, the ROM from Sandvold was good also, both him and DK-Zero-Cool are doing great work.
I can confirm what Enendil says - the BCM ROM has almost everything you may need.
All language packs and keyboard layouts from CyanogenMod 9 are available.
Also you can use COS ICS, its stable fast and have the language packs you want, also I never get one bsod with this rom.
Thanks.. I'll try one of them...
But if i like SENSE to be in a rom... Then what rom to use ??

There's only 1. And that's shaky153's Sense 4.0 Rom. But its in Alpha and loads of stuff don't work yet. Shaky himself said he will work on Kernel 3.0 (Project Y) before continuing development of Sense 4. So if you want Sense and a usable device, best stay on AOSP and switch when the features you need are working on the Rom.

Okay.. Thanks...
I recommend using the BCM CM9 ICS 4.0 rom
For me its perfect. Its the most stable one and the smoothest one too. USB tether is fixed on this rom and the camera works so does the recorder too but the video playback is crap and to fix this u just use MX Player that has decoding options. Everything else works perfect. All the games are much faster here and almost all the games work just like they work on gb. They are just much faster. For example Hot Pursuit works perfect on this rom and just try the game on a gb rom and see that its slow and cuz of that boring.

ICS 4.0.4 BCM RC4.0U0 GSM/CDMA (Bravo CM9 HWA) by DK_ZeroCool is the best for me. I'm from Ukraine and I haven't any problems with my language in this ROM
it's true, if you want sense on your phone, you better stick with android 2.x.
but you should give ICS a try, because i was just like you and wanted to keep my stock sense UI, but i'm super glad to have changed to 4.0.4.
i use sandvolds ICS, and it's very stable. only thing that's missing is video recording. but i'm okay with that.
well, just try for yourself and you will find out what's best for you

Can Senseless ROMs use the Sense Camera, or has the entire Sense framework been ripped out?
Sense apps cannot be used on senseless Rom. Period.
what nonSENSE
They just remove the Rosie launcher in nonSense rom.
No way to get that camera in to cm10
Wait, I remember using a Miui Rom with Sense Camera. I'm 100% sure, so; No, I'm not lying

I'm using this MIUI ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952325 and it has the sense camera...I was using CM10, moved to this and its awesome
sent via a Different Concept
Well the Senseless roms are just the normal sense rom with removed launcher, so the framework is still there and you should be able to use the camera.
As for CM and such, it doesn't have the framework, and putting it on there would be copyright infringement, or something of the sort. Atleast thats what i have understood so far.
Thanks to you all.
Try Viper ROM
ViperX 2.7.1 it is a sense rom, with stock kernel is the best. I tried others, but my phone never had that smooth performance and battery live. I've seen many go to CM, MIUI, Jellybeans and come back. Any way, thats my advice.
