Can Senseless ROMs use the Sense Camera, or has the entire Sense framework been ripped out?
Sense apps cannot be used on senseless Rom. Period.
what nonSENSE
They just remove the Rosie launcher in nonSense rom.
No way to get that camera in to cm10
Wait, I remember using a Miui Rom with Sense Camera. I'm 100% sure, so; No, I'm not lying

I'm using this MIUI ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952325 and it has the sense camera...I was using CM10, moved to this and its awesome

Well the Senseless roms are just the normal sense rom with removed launcher, so the framework is still there and you should be able to use the camera.
As for CM and such, it doesn't have the framework, and putting it on there would be copyright infringement, or something of the sort. Atleast thats what i have understood so far.
Thanks to you all.
Try Viper ROM
ViperX 2.7.1 it is a sense rom, with stock kernel is the best. I tried others, but my phone never had that smooth performance and battery live. I've seen many go to CM, MIUI, Jellybeans and come back. Any way, thats my advice.

Hey !
I am running a custom ROM by Cyanogen on my HTC Desire. I have tried several applications for using the camera but none even come close to the Sense Camera App which is present in the factory ROM.
Where can I get it back from ? And how do I install it ?
I've tried installing the apk on several non sense roms and it just wont work. I don't think its possible

That's disheartening to hear! I might just consider switching to the original rom if there isn't a way to install it on cyanogen

You won't be able to run a Sense app (in this case HTC Camera) on an AOSP ROM.
The Sense app relies on Sense libs which are copyright protected and belongs to HTC. That's why none ASOP ROM uses HTC Camera (as they don't include the required libs). Also to make it work on a ROM which does not include the Sense libs, this would requires patches, or a port of the required libraries which is, if not impossible, at least very difficult.
Personnaly, I do prefer AOSP ROMs (and finally ended with Oxygen) as I prefer the advantages of these ROMs compared to Sense ones. I do occasionnaly use other application to take photos and I can live without the HTC camera app (which I must recognize is quite good).
Damn it! Well anyway thanks for your help.
Btw can u suggest a camera app which is good enough? The stock android camera sucks donkey balls and camera 360 is not that great either.

Hi Hi everyone, as my title says, is it possible to use Stock camera for sense roms @ MIUI roms??? Cuz i love the effects of the Stock rom VS. miui ones.. thx
Sorry but it wont work. Stock apps need the sense framework to work so anything soap will be a no go.

You can use the CM camera though. I use it. I find the pictures taken with the MIUI camera are far too sharp.

Hello,
Im searching for 100% stock looking gingerbread rom which is also very lightweight and fast. I would like cyanogenmod, but i hate the adw launcher and dont want to mess around with it. Im searching for a stable, completely stock looking, fast and lightweight rom. Something like cyanogenmod but with stock look.
Thanks
Have you try the latest Revolution HD rom?
Sorry but I'm searching for stock gingerbread Rom without sense UI like in nexus s

I dont want half sense half stock experience. I want full vanilla android gingerbread. No custom themes, launchers, apps and stuff. Just vanilla gingerbread like on nexus s.
So i did further research and found rom called desired aosp, that was exactly what i was looking for. But the problem is that its no longer maintained and it has bluetooth problem. Anyone can recommend something similair to what desired aosp rom had?

If you want as good as it gets Stock Rom, Try RCMix. Comes Super Stock Look, feel, & has the options to change small tweeks for personalized function like a battery percentage, the ability to turn on features like 3d effects, etc.
It also has awesome support by development, &other users.
Don't settle untill you've tryed the RCMix Rom.
I forgot, you wont see it on the front page, so here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1261721 or use rom manager to download a rom & find it in there under RCTeam RCMix. The Newest Version is in apparently in the finishing testing stages & should be available soon. These roms are released with minimal issues due to the extensive testing by the devs.

+1 for Cyanogenmod
Why don't use it and just use any launcher you like?
I was just wondering if there is any work in progress to port the stock camera to Jelly Bean? I guess few people miss the sense per se but the camera app was really great!
no actually sense camera is only compatible with its kernel driver so , thats not possible!!
Here's a good replacement for stock camera if you miss all effects and all
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.cameraZoom
I bought it while It's on sale. There's a free version too.

I didn't realize that Sense is so far away from the original Android. Used to think it was just a launcher, a different app for setings and some widgets...
Is this possible? Been running cyanogenmod for a few months as I was stuck on a Vodafone UK cid, have recently been able to flash 1.36 hboot and am currently running mike1986's jb Rom, its a hood fast Rom but after using stock android for a few months I think I no longer like sense.. in fact I think I no longer like what HTC have done to jb,.. I'm going to switch back to stock in but one thing HTC have done right is the burst camera.. is it possible to have it on a non sense rom?
No, the camera from Sense ROMs can only run on Sense framework. I would love to have it too, but it's just not possible.

Just use third party apps camera.
There's plenty of them on the market.
Some of it almost like sense's camera.
Just keep trying..
Cheers!!
