Xda app causing freezing? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

OK, my first day with this phone yesterday, it locked up when using the xda app. Today, it locked up twice while using the xda app. Its never locked up on anything else so far, though it could be a coincidence. Each time I had to remove the battery. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? If its a defect with my phone, I can still file this phone as a defective unit. On a side note, I had a galaxy note before this phone for 2 weeks and not once did it ever lock up.

Probably app. It happened a lot on my last phone. Less so on the nexus.

it froze the first time i launched it. but now i havent seen it stall at all

Definitely the app. Have the same issue here, and on my previous two HTC phones. Only other apo I have crash sometimes is handcent, although I've heard a recent update has caused that to FC a lot on all phones, so no issue really.
Certainly no issue with you phone, XDA app has needed some tlc for a long time.

Camera not working

Several times i encountered this with my phone. I first noticed it 3 days after getting it.
Its as if the camera got physically disconnected.
Its not app dependent, if i try to go to another camera app it just wont show anything on the screen.
Restart usually helps
Has anyone else encountered this? What should i do?
Exchange that immediately.

When i was in the store, the camera worked and i hadn't done the screenshots yet. Will they believe me just based on the screenshots if the cam happens to be working at the moment
If it's working now you might have to fight a little bit more but I believe the screen shots are certainly pretty evident all in themselves.

Snap a shot with another camera holding the phone whilst displaying that messege and they cant argue with that!

I had this same camera issue with my first (1 week old) Galaxy Nexus phone. At first the issue only happened occasionally, then starting occurring more frequently with each passing day. I would suggest exchanging it immediately, as I did.

Stock gingerbread touch issues

i work in the sprint store and in the past few days we have gotten at least 4 people with an epic touch still running gingerbread (with no option to update to ics) having issues with the bottom buttons not responding, touch screen acting weird, vibration activating sporadically, and with one case the media scanner runs in a loop. the only way to solve these issues have been to factory reset. but could only be temporary. the customers havnt returned. these issues have not just been happening on older devices but recent activation's.
is this a common issue? is there a fix? (without rooting!) we are a sprint store. we cant promote that lol
Check your same thread over in q&a...

I noticed this after going from ics back to gb

I just activated my phone yesterday morning. I am getting very similar issues as the OP. See here. The 4 capacitive buttons when they light up won't respond for a few minutes on mine also. Then the 'Options' button shows up.

Edit double post
Sounds like a batch of bad software flashes from the warehouse. Probably just need reflashed?
FYI, our store hasn't seen this

I thought the same thing but its been mostly from well established customers. It may have just been a coincidence but I'll see how this week turns out. The factory resets seem to have fixed the issues. Just could have been gingerbread getting confused after being used for awhile lol. Which brings me to another question.. is there any way to push the ics update to an epic touch that's still on gingerbread without Odin. Keep in mind this is a sprint store and we are very limited on our resources

Screen Wake Delay

I'm new to this phone, bought it two days ago and just rooted it today. Ever since I got the phone there's always been a 1-2 sec delay from the time I press the power button to when the screen unlocks. I've searched around but every thread I've found turns into a bunch of mindless arguing over to whether it's a problem or not. I would just like to know if there's a way to get rid of it or if it's something I just have to learn to live with. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated :]
I've never noticed / never takes more than a second from push power to unlocked screen.

There is no fix other than changing the minimum cpu but that would drain your battery. I guess the issue has gone unnoticed for me after using this phone for about a nine months.

It could be noticeable when coming from other devices but if you have stuck with Samsung for your smartphones for sometime it will probably go unnoticed. I thought that too when I first came over.

[Q] Phone ran on virtually zero RAM

What the hell happened? The phone became almost unresponsive for no reason whatsoever. No new app caused this. Had to reboot. Everything was fine after. The "bug" ate almost 20% of my battery. Although it regained a few percent after. Maybe it knows Google dropped support on it lol. Veryncurious.
I'm on stock 4.3, rooted.

Nope. Everything's stock.
Was it just a weird bug or did this happen to anyone before?

How many RMA's before you received a perfect Nexus 7?

I'm wondering how many RMA's it took for people to receive a good device.
I just did my first RMA and hoping I get lucky on this one. My device was constantly unresponsive to touches. Even after the factory reset on the phone with Google support, just trying to enter in my WiFi password it certain parts of the screen would become unresponsive. I couldn't type the letter 'n', then it was the letter 'y', etc. You either had to wait a bit and try again, or you had to power off the screen and power it back on.
Personally, I didn't do enough research before hand to realize this was a widespread issue. The Nexus 7 besides that issue has been the best tablet I've used so I'm hoping I can get a good one.
What has been your experience? I posted a poll, but feel free to add your experience below. Whether it be a touch issue or another issue, I'm looking at peoples success rate with RMA's.
None, first one was perfect

My first Nexus 7 2, came perfect out of the box..
Same for my Original Nexus 7..
No scratches, no dead pixels.. Nothing..
and I got one of the very first off the line at Bestbuy..
I use it every single day..
None so far touchwood although have only had mine for about 3 weeks unlocked and rooted.
Mine is great. Best device ever, use it every day.

It has largely been fine, but the responsiveness you brought up...seems like I find myself having to tap the screen a second time more often than the 1st gen N7. It's not a huge issue at this point, but something I've noticed.
What does RMA mean?

wifi problems out of the box, everythings else is ok, well the display isn't totaly flat (i can see distortions when looking at reflections on the screen) - so it isn't "perfect"
thinking of RMA because of wifi
