Im trying to send a video that is 12 sec long but it wont let me send due to "Message size too big" never had a problem sending long videoa on the iphone wit tmobile. Is there something that i need to do?
Also i cant attached a video in email. Does anyone knows what is going on?
You have to change the resolution size through camcorder settings. There should be an mom's mode. You wont be able to send the video you have now unless you use like dropbox or sync to your computer but videos in the future will work fine as long as its recorded with that setting.

Anybody ever come up with an answer to this? My wifes phone has this problem...
In Handcent under settings - send message settings look for maximum mms size and change it to 1.2M. Then scroll down all the way to the bottom and look for auto convert and make sure its checked. That should work, if not there is aldo a setting in there to split large files (split 160), but im not sure how that works with vidoes.
EDIT: Actually that dosent work either. I just tried to send one and it gave me the same error message. Been a long time since i sent a video, guess i just never noticed. Only been using handcent for like 7mo.
I have tried everything to get MMS(video) working to my gf iphone4. I have an Evo 4G running Sprint lover rom 2.2 lastest sending a video which is 473KB to AT&T iphone4. I get a error back saying that she has a limit. Not sure what to do next. I reinstalled the rom and wipped everything. The rom has a MMS compressor. If anyone can help me get it to work I will donate. And yes I have search for two days on this forum and others trying to get it to work.
You mean you get a text back saying the video is too large to send? If so, that's an AT&T issue, not really much else you can do about it. Tell her to get an EVO instead.
OKay I think I found the issue. After wipping and and reinstalling the rom you have to select messages attach video and then record the video. You cannot attach a pre recorded video because it will not compress the video. I hope there is a fix for this.
Also when in the messaging app to record video it formats it in QCIF(176x144) resoultion. If you go stright to the camcorder app you do not get the option of QCIF(176x144) the smallest you get is QVGA(320x240)
My gf has this. I rooted it but has stock rom. Has been working for months, but now she hasn't been able to send video's she's taken in about a week. Not sure what's going on. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to take a crack at this. Thanks!
EDIT: I should note, she's tried sending videos via MMS and also via email and nothing goes through.
come on 73 views and not one response? Someone's gotta know some way to troubleshoot the POS
Could be a Sprint problem. Can she send a pic? Are the videos too big? Is there an error message?

I have a quick question,
I come from the Epic 4g and when I would want to send a video MMS I would just say that I wanted to attach a video on the SMS app, and when the video recorder would open, it would ask me if I wanted the video compressed for MMS or long duration. Placing it for MMS would let me record a short video that I was able to send out via MMS without issues.
I notice that I can't send an MMS with the Evo, it always says that the file is to large even if its 10 seconds long. I've played with the recorder settings without success.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance!
What messaging app are you using?
Attachments are based on file size. Not duration of the video. I use Go SMS and for mine the file size limit is 1 MB. So if I have a video that is larger than 1 MB, even if it's only 2 seconds long, I won't be able to attach it. Check your apps file size limit and then record a video that is smaller than that size and then try to send it. If it still doesn't send then try using a different messaging app for testing purposes and see if that app will send a video smaller than its limit.
Hey guys . I am running skynote 4.3 and am using hangouts as my default messaging app. I have tried sending a few vidoes and keep getting the error , video is too large for mms . The video is only about 15 seconds long. Is it a problem with hangouts or is there something that I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Funny... I'm on Clean Rom 5.0 and I am only able to record 5 seconds of video MMS but that sends out just fine... must be a weird issue with Hangouts... I guess we will see if they try to fix it.
As for your issue, it can be so many variables since you're on a leak/test.

if i select to take a video form within the message i can send it as well but it also only allows about 5 seconds for recording. is there no way to record longer?
Not a direct answer to your question, but I upload my videos to YouTube (private/unlisted), then just share the link...
That way they are backed up, too...
As resolution increases, the duration you can send in an MMS just gets shorter and shorter, lol
