Hangouts 2.0 MMS Problem - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey guys . I am running skynote 4.3 and am using hangouts as my default messaging app. I have tried sending a few vidoes and keep getting the error , video is too large for mms . The video is only about 15 seconds long. Is it a problem with hangouts or is there something that I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Funny... I'm on Clean Rom 5.0 and I am only able to record 5 seconds of video MMS but that sends out just fine... must be a weird issue with Hangouts... I guess we will see if they try to fix it.
As for your issue, it can be so many variables since you're on a leak/test.

if i select to take a video form within the message i can send it as well but it also only allows about 5 seconds for recording. is there no way to record longer?

Not a direct answer to your question, but I upload my videos to YouTube (private/unlisted), then just share the link...
That way they are backed up, too...
As resolution increases, the duration you can send in an MMS just gets shorter and shorter, lol

MMS limit to iphone4(AT&T)

I have tried everything to get MMS(video) working to my gf iphone4. I have an Evo 4G running Sprint lover rom 2.2 lastest sending a video which is 473KB to AT&T iphone4. I get a error back saying that she has a limit. Not sure what to do next. I reinstalled the rom and wipped everything. The rom has a MMS compressor. If anyone can help me get it to work I will donate. And yes I have search for two days on this forum and others trying to get it to work.
You mean you get a text back saying the video is too large to send? If so, that's an AT&T issue, not really much else you can do about it. Tell her to get an EVO instead.
OKay I think I found the issue. After wipping and and reinstalling the rom you have to select messages attach video and then record the video. You cannot attach a pre recorded video because it will not compress the video. I hope there is a fix for this.
Also when in the messaging app to record video it formats it in QCIF(176x144) resoultion. If you go stright to the camcorder app you do not get the option of QCIF(176x144) the smallest you get is QVGA(320x240)

[Q] sending video over limit problem

Im trying to send a video that is 12 sec long but it wont let me send due to "Message size too big" never had a problem sending long videoa on the iphone wit tmobile. Is there something that i need to do?
Also i cant attached a video in email. Does anyone knows what is going on?
You have to change the resolution size through camcorder settings. There should be an mom's mode. You wont be able to send the video you have now unless you use like dropbox or sync to your computer but videos in the future will work fine as long as its recorded with that setting.

Alright so i seen another thread about this i am gonna try Go SMS pro and see if anything clears up
Thanks for the quick response and I am running CM7 with there kernel no tweaks to anything
Hmm regardless cm7 stock still should work. But yeah a 3rd party usually always fixes it

Also trouble with sending messages with pictures
My phone is an HTC EVO 4G, on which I have flashed DigitalKarma v7.77 Heaven: Deluxe Edition.
I have searched until my eyes gave out but have found no solution to my issue which is I cannot send messages with pictures attached. After a considerable amount time I get an error which indicates a "generic network error", no error message, no additional details. Now I am also receiving this error on incoming messages with pics as well. I do not know if this came along with the flash of 7.77 or if it is unrelated. If you have any information, please share.

Stock VideoCall feature

I have recently been fooling around with /system/csc/feature.xml. Ive been able to get videocall to actually dial out successfully. My only problem is that I dont know anyone that has this feature on their phone. When I say successfully I am meaning no popup that says unable to.... if you'd like to help me on this join in. Maybe we can figure this out together. This is what I added to the end of the call section, <CscFeature_VideoCall_Enable>true</

I'm not running a rom with the video call button on the Dialer so I need to go into contacts to select video call. It seems to get stuck when I try to end call though. I still don't know of anyone that video call stock so it's hard for me to test.

I'm on a stock UCMA3 rom using experiacle's tablet mod. I dont have videocall button either. But when I open my contacts it is there by the phone and message icons
I open my contacts and only a voice calls and messages icon is there.. videos calling would be awesome if I could get it to work.

Google Messenger.

I have been using google messenger for a couple of hours and i like how fast and simple it is. One problem im noticing is some texts take forever to send when someone sends me a MMS. For instance my friend is also on verizon using a note 4 and using google messenger. He sends me a mms pic and it says downloading for about 5 minutes now and any texts i send to him or other people it will stay stuck on "sending"
Do they have a problem with MMS? No way its supposed to take this long, do i have to freeze the stock messenger?

So it's December 15 and this is still an issue with the application. Not quite sure it hangs when it receives an MMS. If you don't auto retrieve MMS messages though it doesn't lag out like this.
