Can someone that has the otterbox for the Galaxy Nexus post some pictures of it? I love otterbox for the Iphone but do not know if it will look the same for the galaxy nexus. Thank you.
would also love to see it.

It would be nice to know if they show the Google logo. Not to be picky, but I'm proud to buy a Google phone and would like to have the Logo visible like you would see on the iPhone.
Looking at the Nexus S, I have the impression the Galaxy Nexus case will also be a fail.
My comment is listed on the site, where I hope they will respond.
There's one listed on eBay right now with free shipping. Only one pic though .

The ebay pic looks like a nexus s though...
Here are a few of mine with an Otterbox Commuter. The fit is perfect. The volume and power buttons are easy to press and line up well. It adds a bit of bulk but i dont mind that.
I got the Zagg screen protector since the otterbox screen protector only covered the screen portion. The zagg is probably temporary since i leave on a holiday soon and it was available in stores. Its not too bad though with less orange peel than previous ones in my opinion but it does still feel rubbery.

Thank you for the pictures; indeed it looks like it is the best option; as an owner of the diztronic, the incipio and the tough case I am looking forward to this one.
So may we ask where did you get the Commuter, since their site still has them as upcoming?
Please tell us where to get it.

I walked into a Bell store in Mississauga, Ontario last friday and picked one up. I was surprised to see that they had it in stock since the Otterbox website itself said that it was coming soon. The bell website says that they are available to order online I think. It feels great and i would highly recommend one.
can you remove the screen protector that's preinstalled with otterbox?
Yup, the screen protector is just a separate dry application protector. It doesn't cover the entire front face since its cut out to only cover the screen portion and not the entire front face like the zagg. I had it on there for a couple of days. It was actually pretty good but when sliding down the notification bar you would always feel the screen protector edge which was annoying. It came off very easily and left no residue when i replaced it with the zagg.
The actual case doesn't have a front protector, i believe the defender cases have those, not the commuter.
Regarding the zagg, it feels less rubbery now after using it for a while and i actually like it. I'm sure that the many options available online might be better and cheaper but i needed one right away and i think they have improved on them a bit.

Where are you located? The Verizon stores in Utah are being assholes about accessories, lying to me when I ask for them.
"we don't have any cases or accessories for that device yet"
Liars.
I'm in Wisconsin. I walked in and said I was looking for nexus accessories. The guy was lime we don't have the phones for sale yet. I said I know, I just want accessories cuz I have one. Once I showed them they were not so impressed cuz I use it with att. The guy said we have them in back, let me see if they ring up. They did so they gave me all kinds of stuff to pick from. Got a dash mount for driving, screen protectors, a tpu case, an otter box defended, and a bad ass incipio double protection.

UPDATE:
I have seen a lot of questions about people seeing this case with out the lip portion which is on the top right of the screen. I just found this case on ebay which is half the price and does not have the lip.

Ballistic SG Case for T-Mobile
I just saw it on eBay and it looks like a great case for protection.
Here is the company's site with the standard S2. They haven't added our phones yet to their site.
http://www.goballisticcase.com/products/samsung-galaxy-s2-ballistic-shell-gel-sg-series-case
Just recieved it today. I like the way it looks but it has a couple of drawbacks.
Pros:
1) Pushing the volume or power button is the best I have seen yet for the T-Mobile GS2 cases. Very fluid just like there isnt a case and the buttons make the natural noise that they make just like not using a case.
2) Seems to be the best protection I have seen for the GS2. I think it will handle a drop very easily.
3) I dont have a screen protector but the way this is designed I dont see how this case would cause any issues like the D30 cases do due to a tight fit. Its somewhat loose and should not cause the corners of a screen protector to lift up.
4) Has a great feel to it and adds some weight to the phone.
5) Protects the back camera perfectly.
6) It does add some thickness to the phone but this is because the phone is extra protected. I would say it is about 1.5x to 1.75x as thick as the phone without a case on it.
Cons:
1) The first layer is rubber and due to this fact it has a few issues.
2) Collects lint easily from your pocket.
3) Can be difficult at times to put in and out of your pocket due to the rubber.
By far though this is the best case I have had for a phone. I own a couple of TPU cases for the T-Mobile GS2 and a D30. It makes the D30 look like junk even though the D30 is a great basic case.It has some drawbacks but the pros outweigh the cons. I definitively recommend this case to anyone that wants the ultimate protection for their phone and doesnt mind cleaning the lint off everyonce in a while. If you like my review please give me a thanks.
just saw one too. didnt kno that they started to make them yet. their a little bulky for my line of work. and since im a student im not really in the situations where is need THAT Much protection....but do a review if you get one.

I have to say yes... I'll take measurement tmrw but the corners are thicker than all of it. Its still not bad. Fits in my pocket n like how it feels in my hand ... I like the texture of back compared to the d3o.
To be fair, the rubber corners will pick up lint just like vibrant otter box. This thing is maximum protection...

Thanks, got one on order. This will be my 4th and hopefully final case for this phone, I am a fan of otterbox so I think I will like it. I started with the black bodyglove from tmobile, not a bad case but a pain in the ass to take of so I got one of the clear TPU cases from ebay and its a great case. And then the D30 came out so I exchanged the bodyglove for it, had to take it back because it fit like crap, the next one fit 95% better but is still uneven around the edges and for a $25.00 piece of rubber it should be perfect like the $7.00 one from ebay.
The first D30 that I got was from T-Mobile. That one fit perfectly, just didn't like the way how the button press felt. So then I also got a TPU case from eBay. Next thing T-Mobile gave out the cases so I picked it up, returned the original one I bought at T-Mobile store, but then the one I got from T-Mobile online, it fit 95% and was bubbling up my Realook. I was hoping for a Seidio case to come first but since I've heard good things about Ballistic case, I gave it a shot. Waiting for it to come in the mail now.

Hey guys,
I usually post on the Int. Galaxy S II and Nexus S forums but my roommate recently picked up the Epic Touch 4G so I'm going to start with some coverage on cases for the device. The folks over at Case-Mate sent me out their Tough case for review, and I will be bringing more reviews of their cases in the coming weeks.
The Tough case is a dual layered case that offers good protection and style, although is it a little thick. You can find the full video below:

Don't bother. I placed an order a couple days ago and it was taking my item forever to ship. I called them and they told me the item was on backorder and they won't be receiving stock till 11/30. I have posted some comparison shots in this review thread.
To be honest though, I didn't like the Brushed Aluminium all that much.. ended up giving it to a co-worker and ordering another TPU Matte Back Black.
Got my tough case today for Christmas. Must say that I love it. The tpu I had wasn't bad but the added protection and grip of this case is much better! Comparable to an otterbox commuter series. Not super bulky like the defender series.

Hey Crew,
So while I'm waiting for my Nitro to turn up, I found a couple of good cases on eBay.
Not a whole lot of choice at the moment, however you can pick up a good-quality TPU in a lot of different colours from this eBay seller (EDIT: These cases have a corner cut-out for the DTV antenna on the Korean Optimus LTE). They're marked for Optimus LTE on the back, but the finish is good and the actualy feel and presentation is excellent. I went for the 'glitter white' and it looks pretty nice!
If you like brand-name stuff, the only thing I could find was a Speck CandyShell from this seller. I went for the white back, black front version. Yet to receive this one.
Post here if you had any more awesome case finds!
Is there really a hole in the upper corner of the case? Besides that, the cases look nice, but I'm not sure why there's a corner missing in the case, as there's no port of any kind at that spot. Does your case also have that exposed corner? Thanks!
I'm getting the Go Ballistic Hard Core. Might not be brand name (maybe it is?) but I'm sure it will do the job. I doubt Otterbox will make something and this looks like the next best thing.

Ballistic is definitely brand-name, and they are awesome. I had one on my Infuse and it was great. They do add an awful lot of bulk and weight, but their protection is unmatched, even by OtterBox.

I bought like 4 different cases for my Nexus One, after a while (about 5 months) I just didn't like anything and carried it NAKED! Ahhhh, it's good to be free!
I have to admit though, that Ballistic HC case makes the Nitro look MEAN! Like not only am I NOT afraid to drop my phone...But if you mess with me, I'll use it as a projectile to HURT you!
I think I'll look for just a nice neoprene sleeve for my Nitro until I'm comfy enough to carry it NAKED too!
SGP Ultra capsule is available now... ordered a white one.
Man you guys are spoilt with cases. In Australia, we never get SGPs or Specks or Ballistics etc. The fanciest we get is a bloody OtterBox!
I love the SGP for the SGS2, so will definitely grab one for the Nitro.
Sent from my Dell Streak 5 using XDA Premium
When someone gets the SGP ultra capsule, could you let me know if the corner of the phone is really exposed like it shows in the pictures on amazon? I think it's open for the Chinese model which had a tv antenna, but there's no reason for it to be open for the p930, and I KNOW if that corner's out, that's the corner that's going to hit the ground after I drop it on day one =) I just got this black TPU one in the mail from amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006MPH3ZW/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
I love it. No unnecessary holes and it's a really nice, tight fit. Only comes in black (no pattern, thank god), though. If the SGP ones don't have exposed corners, I'd love to get the white one! =)
I work for ATT and got the ballistic case for free. Its huge. Ginormous.

Yeah, it does have the hole on the right side of the case to support the dtv antenna.
Anybody knows where to get a Speck case for this phone? ATT sells a pink one, but yeaahhh...I'm not gonna test my manliness with a pink case.
I'm also surprised that Incipio is not in on this phone like they were with the atrix. They were one of the first cases available for the Atrix.
Ok ,so there is only one option on the Otterbox website.Does it fit both the GSM and CDMA Nexus or is it only for one device?
According to the model numbers on the cases one is designed for the GSM version and a separate is for CDMA. That being said, be wary with the otterbox defender as it has been reported to actually scratch that phone as the phone sits in the plastic shell and does have a tiny amount of room for movement.

Yup.
I noticed this instantly, mostly when plugging/unplugging the charger. Installed the oem extended battery and now it doesnt move. As well dirt/lint always managed to get in the otterbox and bugged the hell out of me when is stayed in the screen, added a zagg protector and it doesnt do that, kept the otterbox screen protector too.
I have the gsm version as well. I added a couple small strips of microfiber on the inside of the defender and installed a zagg screen protector. I also removed the OEM otter box screen protector. The setup works very nicely. No movement at all.

The seidio obex ( life proof case ) not as good people make it out to be... my friend has had three of them. And had to replace his phone twice because of that seidio. Btw the seidio not good up to 6 ft. Only about 4 ft any deeper it starts leaking because of the pressure. Imo id take the otter box hands down all models to commuter defender armor case
Also have you checked ebay or amazon for cheaper prices ?

I think it's a reasonable price when you take into consideration that the Seidio''s Obex case is priced at $80. I'm sure Lifeproof will have theirs priced in the same ballpark. I'm really looking into buying a waterproof case. If Lifeproof doesn't at least post a picture of their case up soon I'll be buying Otterbox when it's released. Otterbox has proven itself time and time again and their customer service is second to none.
Seems fair, when the LifeProof first came out for the Iphone it was 90..if LifeProof keeps taking their time I'll go with the otterbox, have a defender and love it..

Seems fair. But no way would I pay 100 bux for a case. Just my personal opinion. Hell the most ive spent is 30 for a case and that would be max for me. But I guess that case does pay off in the long run

OtterBox make very good cases. Had one for every phone I had. This ones is expensive but I will trust them if to need so extreme protection.
$100 is alot but what bother me is the timing, They been teasing us for like a month now and they announce it yesterday thinking that it will go on-sale today for next week but no, we have to wait another 3 months. By that time we will be debating on should we get the Galaxy S4

Yeah but the defender doesn't cost $100. The other thing I can't wait to find out is if they used the same Defender-type screen on the armor. The defenders screen protector is IMO basically useless, I don't know how any of you can use it. I don't know if it's due to the type of screen the s3 uses but the defender for iphone is pretty nice, the screen protector doesn't degrade the screen quality much if at all. If any of you have never seen the s3 inside a defender, the screen protector makes nice little star bursts all over your entire screen, it's terrible!

I guess it's the name they charge you for. Even with the MSRP being $100, it'll sell for less.

Actually I hope they use the same material to make the screen protector as the defender, I bought the seidio waterproof and the screen protector was horrible, I couldn't even use swype , and in the defender, it might look bad but at least it doesn't affect the touch sensibility.

My defender made the screen very pixelated, kind of like looking through wet glass or something. You can't tell me you don't notice a major difference in screen quality??

Just saw a YouTube video where an otterbox ces rep said it wouldn't be released until 30 after the iPhone case is released. So it looks like late March.

Its a rainbow effect. Its from the plastic of the screen protector getting too much grease marks on it. I popped mine out because of that. Sucks though too because the case gets loose without the protector in.
The only material that's equal in both preserving look and sensitivity of the touchscreen is plexiglass. Ivyskin case company in new jersey uses it with their iPhone cases. Plexiglass is easy to shatter though unless its thicker.

These cases go for a fraction of their MSRP on Amazon. You can find the Defender for $20 instead of $50.

The defenders problem isn't the oils from your fingers, without touching it the screen still looks awful. As for materials, have you ever used a lifeproof case? The screen still looks great and sensitivity isn't affected at all. I don't know what they make it out of but I'm pretty sure it isn't plexiglass.

Not to mention the defender is impossible to get in and out of your pocket.

I have defender - if you wipe your phone, and your galaxy's screen with a rag (that comes with sun glasses). And the you wipe protective screen from inside and outside (but really good, to eliminate all microscopic dust particles - it will stay like this. Sure you better not to throw your phone in dusty places - will be ok.
And it's protective screen, not just a plastic. If you need something for beauty - buy thin cases and be happy If you love running at the morning/mountain biking/ and other sport/action - you will be happy with that case. And it's look great.
But what really annoying for me it's a power button is hardly pressed when in case. I have to push the button a little harder.
And at all - i love my case, purchased at eBay i got it for 30$ with delivery in 1 week (from Hong Kong, straight from the factory )
Just check eBay for Galaxy S3 Armor Series, may be there will be cheaper deal. I know some waterproof case, that cost a lot more (can't remember the brand).
But who d f need waterproof case? Seriously. I can swim without phone, it's ok
