$100 for the armor case? Seriously? The lifeproof is a proven design and only cost around $80, where does otterbox get $100? IMO it also is a little ugly, although it looks better than the seidio.

The seidio obex ( life proof case ) not as good people make it out to be... my friend has had three of them. And had to replace his phone twice because of that seidio. Btw the seidio not good up to 6 ft. Only about 4 ft any deeper it starts leaking because of the pressure. Imo id take the otter box hands down all models to commuter defender armor case
Also have you checked ebay or amazon for cheaper prices ?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy s3
I think it's a reasonable price when you take into consideration that the Seidio''s Obex case is priced at $80. I'm sure Lifeproof will have theirs priced in the same ballpark. I'm really looking into buying a waterproof case. If Lifeproof doesn't at least post a picture of their case up soon I'll be buying Otterbox when it's released. Otterbox has proven itself time and time again and their customer service is second to none.
Seems fair, when the LifeProof first came out for the Iphone it was 90..if LifeProof keeps taking their time I'll go with the otterbox, have a defender and love it..

OtterBox make very good cases. Had one for every phone I had. This ones is expensive but I will trust them if to need so extreme protection.
$100 is alot but what bother me is the timing, They been teasing us for like a month now and they announce it yesterday thinking that it will go on-sale today for next week but no, we have to wait another 3 months. By that time we will be debating on should we get the Galaxy S4

Yeah but the defender doesn't cost $100. The other thing I can't wait to find out is if they used the same Defender-type screen on the armor. The defenders screen protector is IMO basically useless, I don't know how any of you can use it. I don't know if it's due to the type of screen the s3 uses but the defender for iphone is pretty nice, the screen protector doesn't degrade the screen quality much if at all. If any of you have never seen the s3 inside a defender, the screen protector makes nice little star bursts all over your entire screen, it's terrible!

Actually I hope they use the same material to make the screen protector as the defender, I bought the seidio waterproof and the screen protector was horrible, I couldn't even use swype , and in the defender, it might look bad but at least it doesn't affect the touch sensibility.

My defender made the screen very pixelated, kind of like looking through wet glass or something. You can't tell me you don't notice a major difference in screen quality??

Its a rainbow effect. Its from the plastic of the screen protector getting too much grease marks on it. I popped mine out because of that. Sucks though too because the case gets loose without the protector in.
The only material that's equal in both preserving look and sensitivity of the touchscreen is plexiglass. Ivyskin case company in new jersey uses it with their iPhone cases. Plexiglass is easy to shatter though unless its thicker.

The defenders problem isn't the oils from your fingers, without touching it the screen still looks awful. As for materials, have you ever used a lifeproof case? The screen still looks great and sensitivity isn't affected at all. I don't know what they make it out of but I'm pretty sure it isn't plexiglass.

I have defender - if you wipe your phone, and your galaxy's screen with a rag (that comes with sun glasses). And the you wipe protective screen from inside and outside (but really good, to eliminate all microscopic dust particles - it will stay like this. Sure you better not to throw your phone in dusty places - will be ok.
And it's protective screen, not just a plastic. If you need something for beauty - buy thin cases and be happy If you love running at the morning/mountain biking/ and other sport/action - you will be happy with that case. And it's look great.
But what really annoying for me it's a power button is hardly pressed when in case. I have to push the button a little harder.
And at all - i love my case, purchased at eBay i got it for 30$ with delivery in 1 week (from Hong Kong, straight from the factory )
Just check eBay for Galaxy S3 Armor Series, may be there will be cheaper deal. I know some waterproof case, that cost a lot more (can't remember the brand).
But who d f need waterproof case? Seriously. I can swim without phone, it's ok

D30 case and zagg is what I have. Dropped my phone twice from about 4-5 feet getting off my truck onto pavement and not a single scratch anywhere and its Slim and lightweight. Of course there is that minor issue with the button pressing.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?
Trident Aegis case with SGP Ultra Crystal screen protector is the best combo. The screen protector is easy to apply and you wouldn't notice its even on. The Aegis is one of the best with good protection and great quality materials with options to choose different colors. Ballistic is good as well with a extra bulk for extra protection especially from drops.
Ghost Armor and the Ballistics case.Thats what I use,and it fits right in a Large genuine imitation leather belt clip case I bought from a gas station.
I'd have to say that the D3o case is probably the best cell phone case I've used. The lining of the case is made out of a very protective polymer named after the case, D3o. It's used for military, medial and sports applications.
I was skeptical about the $25 price tag at t-mobile but I was more than pleased when I purchased it. I've dropped the phone on concrete, cement, etc without batting an eye. The material of the case is breathable and dissipates heat very well. Easy to hold with different color options.
Needless to say, the main thing about the case is the shock absorption. Nothing I've ever seen before. Not the best link but here's a demo of what the lining is made out of. You can get it at a t-mobile branch if not, online. As the previous post about D3o mentioned, the buttons are a bit tough to push in at first. I heard that after a while, they become more pliable but I used the "exacto-knife" trick and cut slits (completely invisible) on the top and bottom of the buttons. This makes them a lot easier to manage.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-aW5XY2sis
As mentioned above, I'd go with a Ballistic case or the Trident case. I have two D30 cases but stopped using them since my friend's SG2 developed a crack while using that case. They're also very tough to get off without feeling that you're breaking your phone.
I got the trident Aegis.
Will be here soon. The Ballistic case, is nice, but a bit too bulky IMO. And green is my favorite color ^^
Thanks for the screen recommendation. Will look into it.
Ok so i just bought the ballistic maxx case from the at&t store for $50. I walk out to my car to put it on and quickly find out the case is a piece of $h!t. I dont know where to start but ill try. 1st its nothin lime the ballistic HC case i owned for other phones and absolutely loved. All it is is a ballstic sg case with this redicilous removable screen protector. Itd a hard plastic piece that you put on the phone after you slide the rubber gel on the phone. The plastic is hard to put on. I can see eventually scratching the phone trying to do this snd when you do get it on its lose as hell. It sits off the phone so far theres a gap in between it and the screen. When you press it it clicks against phone. The lip on the case is so big you have to curl your thumb to hit home screen. And ballistic has the balls to charge $50 for that piece of crap. This is one of the worst cases i have ever seen. I immediately took it back and got my refund. If you need a rugged case wait for the defender. That case is junk. If you dropped it in water the water would poor right through the cheap screen protector. Also theres no protection for camera. I took a few pics before returning.

I checked it out at a AT&T as well and I have to agree...I thought it was garbage.
I dont understand what it is there trying to do. There HC cases were very good cases. Fit both my evos very good. Ballistics only downfall to me was customer service and they were normally late to the game. This case is just an embarassment to ballisctic. Very cheap not well cut and just dosent go well with the phone

I hate bulky cases on slim phones anyway.
I got the case and I don't see why you guys are giving it such a bad rap. I bought it for when I go over to the desert for the extra protection and it should work just fine. I actually liked the look and feel better than other otterbox cases. Personal preference I guess.
I have the normal Ballistic SG coming from amazon tuesday or wednesday so I'm hoping it winds up being a nice case. if not ill probably check out the trident ageis or casemate tough

I had the same issue! It would bubble up after installing the screen protector. The case is JUNK. That is a fact.
No disrespect meant at all....but I completely disagree with the OP. I have this case and have grown to really like it. OP mentioned the screen protector having a gap between it and screen....it does not if installed correctly. Instructions clearly state to place screen protecter on phone BEFORE applying gel case. There is a lip around the screen prot/gel case that locks it into place (which also greatly aids in keeping water out....not saying go drop it in the washer and walk away but you get what I mean). then the polycarb shell fits perfectly....it's all a tight fit and imo looks good. i added pics of mine installed in another thread(can't remember where at the moment). Anyway, I wrote this reply to let people know it's not a bad case....actually had an otterbox defender on my previous phone and it became stretched out and ugly as hell. this case won't do that bc of the outter poly carb shell and how the gel shell is locked on the screen protector. Just saying don't dismiss this case on one or two bad reviews. It's a great case if installed correctly. I even ordered the Ballistic SG in a different color combo to switch things up since i already have the screen protector and holster. I would NOT have ordered a second if it was crap!!

You also said in that thread that your not using the screen protector. I would imagine its bc of the lack of clarity or something else? Why pay $50 for a rugged case if you dont have the built in screen protector? They need to bring back the HC series. And when the defender is released youll see how making a 3 layer rugged case look smooth and fluid isnt that hard

The case isn't horrible but it is (at least for me) difficult to hit the buttons at the bottom of the screen. The removable protector is not a "bad" idea but if they had a better fitting screen protector I think it would be better for us users. Having the option to replace it is nice but you don't have the option to have the screen face out while in the holster. I saw that seidio has the surface case so I might return this case and buy that. I really wish they would make a waterproof otterbox case which might happen because FINALLY Samsung has a device that is the same shape for all the carriers!
Usually with the Otterbox cases I pop out the built in protector and put one on the screen directly. I had an iPhone 4 that got chips in the glass because of little particles getting in between the glass and the built in screen protector.

I have the same case and I like it. It was not too difficult to put on for me. As for the screen protector, I also have it off and like that it is not like the Otterbox. Why do that on a $50 case? Its the same reason I rip the display cover off the Otterbox Defender series. Because I don't like them. If I ever start scratching my display maybe I will install the removable display cover since it can go on and off. But I get these cases not for the screen protector but for those rare times I drop my device. And for that I am fine with it.
So I'm browsing through the electronics section at Wal-Mart looking for a wireless mouse and I happen to stumble upon a new case for our phone. At first I'm thinking, "Oh, so now we have an Otterbox Defender!" Then I look at the box and it's a Body Glove!
I looked online for this case, but cannot even find it on the Body Glove website. I took a few pictures of it. It looks pretty good. It's a little bulky, but not too much. Very sturdy. The case is three parts - two for the inner hard plastic and one for the outer rubber-like shell. It's much easier to install than the Otterbox cases, but really feels just as protective - for less as well (paid less than $40). I said "Defender-like", so yes it comes with a holster - and it's almost identical to the Defender holsters.
Have any of you guys seen this case in any local stores? It feels like a pretty good one.
I haven't seen one in stores yet...because i have not been looking for one. I will see if i can find it...

Apparently this is very new. Military tested specs, and it feels and looks much better than the Otterbox. I'm using a Thunderbolt for work with the Otterbox Defender. They look similar from a distance, but the look and feel in your hands is not even close. They also had one for the GS3. After several days of use, this has to be the best looking, best feeling, sleekest (relatively speaking, of course) heavy duty shock resistant case I've owned (and I've owned quite a few over the years).

Not too thick, built like a tank, this is the new batmobile from Christian Bale's Batman Trilogy if the other thin and slick cases are the stealthy slick batmobiles from the past xD
How are the buttons? Are they nice and tactile or stiff and mushy? That's what's bugging me about the D30 Impact case. The buttons are way too stiff and mushy (and before someone says I should hit the gym, I'm no chump. I can press them just fine, it's just annoying).

Got my Body Glove Diamond case a week ago and reviewed it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004609
I also bought the black body glove case at Walmart and after 24 hours I'm loving it. The only gripe I had was the built in screen protector. I have zagg so I took a razor knife and cut it out. Couldn't ask for a better case.
I want one of these cases, but I can't find it anywhere.
Love my seidio active case and holster. Better than my old phones otterbox!
Just saying!
Hey guys, my S3 should be here by the end of the week, woooooooooo. But I need some help deciding on a case and was wondering if people who have tried different cases or used just one and can reccomend it could chime in. Basically I want something that will protect the phone, specifically something with a lip so when screen down the screen isn't touching the surface it's on, and basic protection of the phone, I don't drop my phone often, never dropped it on concrete, I'm not very clumsy but I still want something that'll protect my very very expensive phone. The Otterbox defended and similar cases seem like overkill for me, but the clear plastic 2mm case seem like not enough protection, so I was wondering if there was a nice middle ground that wasn't too thick and bulky but would definitely protect the phone. I've got my eye on this one http://www.goballisticcase.com/products/samsung-galaxy-s-3-ballistic-sg-maxx-series-case, any other suggestions?
Keep in mind I'm coming from a Desire Z with a thickness of 14.2 mm, the S3 feels like a piece of paper in my hand coming from that, so a little bulk doesn't bother me.

I've ordered this one for now http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/28093530...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649. I'll see how that one goes, if it turns out to be complete crap I'll buy another one.
I use the Platinum Series Case from Best Buy with belt clip

Free. Just pay shipping. I ordered a couple of black ones and they're great cases. I'll probably end up ordering a couple of grey ones as well.

How do you like the screen protector thing that comes with it?
Trident.
I have a extended battery case on mine, but I went & ordered a Trident Kraken off Ebay. $28.99+free shipping, was too tempting.

That's a nice deal for the Kraken, I like the Aegis as well, they look really nice.
I know you said the otter box is excessive but they actually have two different styles at sprint. i have the slim otter its not bulky but protects everything. I like alot due to the fact that it protects the charging port as well as the ear phone Jack. I had the s2 before and my charging port always got stuff in it like lent from my pocket or what not. The case is lined with a silicone case inside a hard shell which will stop dirt from getting inside and scratching the device as well as making it more drop resistant. It is deffinatly worth having for 30 dollars.
The otter box i have is actually smaller than the case you have posted and comes with one screen protector as well.
Here is a youtube review of the case if it dosent play just google galaxy s3 otter box commuter caae.

I actually just picked up a commuter case to replace my defender. It's much sleeker and easy to take in and out of the pocket. While it retains the solid feel the defender offered, I have an issue with the grip. Any advice on dealing with its slickness?

The Otterbox doesn't look too bad, but for the price of $32.50 it seems kinda..... Boring. Some of the other cases look really cool.

Don't get this case... I have it on my s3 now. The plastic (outer part of case) will start to peal and break off. At first it was an awesome case but yeah... I'll upload pics at request. Do not buy!
+ 1 For the Otterbox Commutor...
:good:

Hands down the best case I've ever purchased. Looks amazing in all colors, very good protection, not too bulky, and came without any flaws. It turns heads while providing the protection I need.
Check this link to see some of the other colors that they carry.

Urban Armor Gear. Love mine.
+1 for Otterbox Defender. Its not anywhere near as bulky as I thought it was going to be and I really like how it provides me with solid, square edges so I can prop it up on my display screen in my car dash very easily and it stays securly in place (for the most part).
So.. its finally in the otterbox defender series
Its costs 59.95 ..is it worth the money???

I would say no. I got the same case for my girlfriend for her S3 without reading the reviews.
It does protect the phone, but the rubber for the outside gets stretched out and doesn't fit the plastic part anymore. It happened within a month of putting it on. You can get it replaced under warranty, but I'd rather not do a warranty claim every month.
Check out the Ballistics case. I own it and love it.
I'd post the URL but I'm prevented from doing so until 10 posts. It's easy to Google though.
It all depends on what you need. If you need something that can withstand just about anything, yes, because neither trident nor ballistic will make their touch case for the n2. Otherwise, you could probably go with something else

I love my commuter series, the rubber goes under the plastic so it eliminates stretching of the rubber and scratching of the phone.

I used the Defender case on a few of my phones...tuff as nails is a good saying for them and offer a over abundance of protection if you really need that much for day to day usage...I never had a issue with them stretching out and needing a replacement...but I wasn't constantly pulling them off to do battery pulls either.I did wear out some of the rubber ports and had a replacement on that cause though..
On the defender..the screen protector didn't fair well enough for me though..and had the tendency to be a dust magnet underneath it on mine and using the S-pen..I don't know how well they will do...just something to keep in mind.
Last thoughts ...is the all the extra bulk added to a already large mobile device as our Note II's are...which is the main reason I choose to go back to the best case I ever used IMHO...which is the Seidio Surface case with belt clip.I ordered mine directly from the company..but..Best Buy will be selling the non-kickstand version under their Pt branding..and most should have them in stock for the holidays...
If you have never used one of these cases before...I would give some time for places to get them in-stock so you can go put one on and see for yourself if it will work for you or not...you may not like the size or how they fit on your Note...

Any recommendations? ?..right now I have the. Iconic guardian ..but I want maybe a little better protection

Amazon has a few cases that are less than 10$ handbook sturdy. I usually trust Amazon reviews. Better to test out a couple cases then to spend 60$! Otterbox is an extremely bulky case. I can only imagine one on an GN2!

Like I said...I feel the Seidio Surface case is the best one out there..In my job...I've dropped mine already (4 feet)..have banged it hard on ladders and other equipment..and it is still perfect..
My Pt case (Best Buy branded Seidio Surface case) I used on my Captivate has taken even rougher treatment over the 2 years I've had it and has not failed..so I'm pretty sold on the Seidio Surface line for all types of bumps & bruises a phone gets on my hip...They aren't water proof...and if you need something for water issues these won't work...but for everything except that and a full onslaught against the screen...they have performed above my expectations of a case and give good gripping while being fairly thin feeling..
Buy a good screen protector like the anti glare/smudge that AT&T stores sell (iFrogz)...and you will have a damn good protection package that looks great too..The Pt case when in stock at Best Buy is about $20 cheaper.
Mac
I have the Seidio Surface with the holster. I posted where I dropped it at least 40 feet at a high schoolgame with son and the case did its job
Sent from Note II... size Magnum!
