this video cannot be played (taken on nexus) - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Anyone having intermittent problems with video ..... even videos recorded on the GN ......
Getting a message after a few seconds 'sorry this video cannot be played'.
This is using stock player. First few seconds play fine. Try again later and they work ....

Try to kill the app or make a reboot and test it again.

I have the same issue with the stock video player. Using Dice Player now as it plays pretty much everything I throw at it. Hopefully an update should fix.

Exactly the same problem here, if you wait for all the video thumbnail pictures to refresh they play fine. Must be a bug in the stock video app. Like has been mentioned here in a previous post, dice player works great. Hopefully a software update will fix it soon

Numerous Crashes While Multitasking w/ Google Music Playing

Anyone else have this problem? My GSM Galaxy Nexus has crashed at least 5 times when multitasking (Facebook, internet, email) while Google Music is playing.

Thanks man.
I don't use the Music app extensively but from the few times I have, already got a couple of crashes. Definitely something dodgy going on.

This might be something to do with my problem using Adidas miCoach. It gives you voice updates every kilometre and the voice goes realllly slow and stuttery, used to work fine on my HTC Hero. The app uses the Music app I think because you pick a playlist from it.
It might be related? I will try to listen to some music and do other multitasking and report back.

Well I received my galaxy nexus today. Was syncing Google music and listening to music at the same time and it crashed. Had to remove the battery and power it on again . Not happy about this.
Never had this issue on my Nexus S!
Has this been reported to Google? If not we should report this so that they are aware of this and release a fix for it.

Thanks for confirming this.
my GN also clashes two times when running google music and going online.
Been happening to me all week. Press home and the launcher has crashed, or the phone is frozen. Eventually it comes back, but lots of crashes. I just reboot.
Its annoying but only happens at the end of my journey when i'm done listening to music so its bearable for now.
I just had another crash while listening to music and reading a post in tapatalk. Same deal as most of my other crashes. Some minimal corruption of the display and some small amount of time later the unit appears to turn off. Battery pull required.

It happened again this morning, but with Rhapsody's music app instead.
I actually was surfing this forum just to find that. I've had it happen twice in the last 3 days... really horribly loud screeching woke me up the first time. I don't think it's just slowdown, the screen showed small blue artifacts and other corruption and the audio started looping until it stopped at the screech.
Has anyone tried it while playing music directly from the phone instead of streaming?
This really sucks. I was so looking forward to installing Google Music on my new Galaxy Nexus (delivering Monday)..

Yes, this has happened to me while playing music stored on my phone for offline use on Google Music.

It didn't crash yesterday while playing offline music.
I've had this crash quite a lot whilst listening to music and reading on the Kindle app, and whilst music is planning and using navigation in the car. It's very very annoying. Especially whilst using navigation.

Stock GSM Nexus having Video playing issues

Hi i have a GSM Nexus that is on stock rom unrooted, ive only unlocked the bootloader. I have been having issues where if i watch a video that i recorded through the gallery app it wont play and the gallery app will freeze up until i close it. It also does this with youtube videos and videos through Play Movie. I have also been having occasional force close issues with the camera app where it will say the camera has stopped responding. I will restart my phone and these problems will go away for a while but always seem to return after a while. Is there any known issues with these problems and what can i do that might resolve them. Thanks.
Im having problem only with yourube and other videeos from i-net...they are just bufering forever ...and now with the JB upd my ggoogle mic is not working

it only happens to me when I am playing content inside the web browser and only from certain sites. nba.com does it quite a bit for me.
Any video in an app works great, video stored on the device works great.
No idea why, I assumed that it had to do with support for flash or some such funny business.

this is a good point and video seems to work on Dolphin for me. Chrome has been the problem for me.
if you go to settings>developer options and click disable hw overlays it will fix the problem. but you have to disable it after every reboot is the bad part.

[Q] N7 (2013) Netflix Crashing

N7 (2013)
PA 3.94 20130806
PA GApps 20130808
Runs fine, no crashes until I try to run Netflix. It will let me load the app, scroll through the movies, and even load one. It will play for about 30 seconds, and then the tablet will freeze, some small green pixels will appear in the bottom of the screen (about 1 inch band all the way across like little green stars densly packed).
Then it will reboot.
Any ideas?
*EDIT*
Just added a video of it happening. You'll notice the small green pixels/lines in the center of the screen right across the doctor...
Link to Imageshack uploaded video
**Edit II**
Just to toss this in, Youtube does not do it... no other app is causing a crash except the Netflix app...
***EDIT III***
Just talked to Netflix, they said it is a known issue and when they resolve it, they will have an update for the app. I tried a few steps with a support rep, and it still hasn't fixed it.
No one else is having this issue?!
Have you installed the last Netflix update (it is supposed to fix this issue)

I uninstalled and reinstalled netflix last night, but otherwise, I have not seen a netflix update...
I did that right before I recorded the video I added to the original post.
Just a little update.
I went 100% back to stock, even locked boot loader.
Netflix now works fine...

Maybe clearing the cache because I don't use all the memory that the phone offers.
I will say that this happens on my decently specced desktop. I'm not sure that this is a problem only your phone is experiencing.
Yeah, this happens when the network is going slow on my device. Not sure if it is a phone problem though.

I just confirmed that is not the network speed because I played a YouTube video through the internet app and works without problems.

After spending some more time with the phone, I can see what your are talking about. The video and audio are not in sync while playing a youtube video. During the beginning of the video, the video part freezes for part of a second, and the audio continues on. For the rest of the video, the audio is slightly before the video. Its only on the YouTube app, MX player plays network streams with no problem.

You mean audio wizard? Hm. I'm gonna disable that, too, now and see if it solves another issue I've encountered with VLC not playing nice with HW decode.

This happens to me as well. ON ALL VIDEO Players, from Facebook, in app videos browsers, and Google Chrome! I've also cleared cache on recovery. And yes restart is a temporary solution, but it still comes back! Please look into this Asus. Simply clearing cache and data on each apps doesn't do any good!
