[Q] Galnet MIUI - ICS Build has anyone tried? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I came across the Galnet MIUI - ICS build in Defy and Galaxy S I9000 forums
They have the MIUI build on ICS framework and have weekly builds as being published.
Would like to ask have the developers tried this version, as this also supports our lovable DHD.
Hopefully this might even allow the developer working on the ICS source in the developers forum!!!!

Never heard of galnet before! Looks like a pretty good version too.
But thanks for the heads up, downloading now and will try in the next few hours. Will post my findings when I get home =)

I have been running galmet miui for a while on my inspire runs great no problems

Thanks alot for the input would try it myself.
Hope this would be something different.
Now that the MIUI team has started the ICS development and developers working on ICS source.... We are not away from ICS on our phones

What's the current status of ICS Ports/Roms?

So right now the awesome developers are working on the ICS SDK Port, and CyanogenMod 9, which has not been released to the public, is also being worked on for the Epic and is actually more functional than the ICS SDK Port. What is the current status on the development of the ICS port and CM9? Are there other ICS-based projects being worked on, such as a complete ICS Port (non-SDK), ROMs like MIUI 4, etc?
Check in general, there should be a thread that gives the status of CM9. And there's a video as well.

And there is a WIP thread on the ICS port in Development you can read.
The sdk port is dead. I got later source built ports from the charge booting, but not much worked. Let's just wait for cm9

Thanks for that. May try MIUI for the first time this weekend. Is there any chance of getting WiMax on MIUI4? Or is it that it will never be available because there is no WiMax in China?
Same thing with the Chinese. According to qbking77 and noobnl cm9 is getting ready and almost perfect other than the memory leak and some issues with camera.

Afaik no. Ics shouldn't change anything in that regard. For a more detailed explanation, read my most recent posts in the miui thread

Although the SDK port is dead, will it ever be possible for stock ICS to be ported to the Epic? And from the video, it appears as though CM9 looks just like stock ICS. I'm assuming it will be like stock ICS but with the cyanogenmod features? It doesn't seem like the UI is different the way it's different on CM7. And as for MIUI 4 (which I have high hopes for) will the Epic get any of the MIUI 2 versions, or will it go straight from a v1 to v4? Thanks for the info!
CM9 goodness!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2r7anSiI5I we're very close guys!

Its not v1. V4 is just ics. By that number scheme, we're on v2.3. And v3 would be honeycomb, so its straight from v2.3 to v4. And if you're talking about the 2012 like 2.1.6, miui.us is skipping those releases for most devices and focusing on ics, which is what I'll do too.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
ok, thanks, i meant it like MIUI 2.1.6, so we're going from MIUI 1.12.13 (i forget what version it is) to an ICS based MIUI right? That sounds good.

dhd cm9

is anyone going to launch a cm9 for the dhd
We got 5 ics roms in the Dev section, think 2 out of the 5 are based on CM source, could be wrong. But give it about a month or two for DHD CM9 nightlies to be released.

I have to say I've been using LC ICS now for about a month and it's good enough as a daily driver for me. Lord releases at least a build or two a day, and it's shaping up rather well. I say go for it!
I'm also using LC's IceColdSandwich, but I'm a cyanogen fan, so yes I'm going to launch cm9 when it comes out.
Let's just hope in cm9 they solve the problem with the widget to active/deactivate 3g - wireless connections etc. It's really anoying when it just doesn't respond and you have to reboot (CM7).
Guys we all know the rule for CM roms. Dont ask for ETAs. THings will be fixed and a rom will most likely be released when HTC releases the DHD ICS update in a few months. With this they will be able to fix the issues that come from not having proper kernel source.

Which of them is best is matter of preference. Each person will appreciate something different about any ROM, so the best advice is try all of them and pick which is best for you. At present they are all based on Arco's CM9, and I prefer that.

Oh, okay.. I prefer to choose a ROM that's not much of bugs, could you suggest me which ROM?
Because when I read each of ICS ROM thread comment's it's confusing me to choose which is almost stable ROM because of the bugs
By the way thanks for answering
wrong section dude! you should ask in general section. not in development. btw, all others ICS rom will be updated according to arco cm9
I would pick CM9, its since the others just use CM9 as a base while the others are great I find using the pure CM9 much better.
No bugs? Go back to gingerbread. No ICS can give you that yet. Please do know that ICS development for Galaxy Wonder is still on alpha stage. And also post appropriately. This is development section.
Sorry I'm new on creating thread
And I don't mean with no bug, I said with not plenty of bugs
Okay thanks for the answers guys, just asking, sorry for posting in a wrong section

yeah. pure CM9 is better. I have once tried Paranoid, it was pretty good too. it is more customizable than pure CM9 (I think you knew it). Im currently using CM9 build 6 which is pretty stable. the other ROM are based on CM9 build 5 anyway. so, you know the rule, build 6 is better than build 5 (literally), but in some case, it upside down. just flash any ROM. you will find your own answer.

If you're sick of Gingerbread (like CM7), there are plenty of stable and feature-ful Ice Cream Sandwich (including CM9) ROMs to try in the development forums. Aside from CM, there are also AOKP and AOSP ROMs to try. There are 4 decently stable JellyBean (including CM10) ROMs in the development forums as well, including 2 AOKP JellyBean ROMs. I strongly advise that you start by searching in the development forums yourself.
Additionally, I'm pretty sure you're posting in the wrong forum; this belongs in Q&A, not Development.

Is there any particular through which i can find all these roms for DHD?
Secondly, in most of the roms either the bluetooth is broken or the camera is buggy and I use both of these features so that's the reason why I asked for a stable rom like the cm7 because it is completely working and aa stable rom

There is a sticky at the very top of the forum that indexes all the available ROMs and links to them; doesn't get much simpler than that.
I have had no problems with either bluetooth or camera on any ICS ROMs since I first rooted my phone a month ago. JB ROMs recently got both working with minor bugs. READ the threads; they update. Each ROM OP usually includes an updated feature list. Then read at least the last 10 pages or so of the thread.

Back up your current ROM with nandroid and flash it. "Stable" and "good battery life" mean different things to everyone; I felt it was plenty stable, but see for yourself. If you don't like it, just put your backup back.

[DEV][WIP] Project Llama [4.1.2]

(project) LLAMA
Website: www.projectllama.tk
Features so far:
- AOKP Settings/Customisation options
- Modified bionic for Camera fixes
- Modified msm7k common for GPS fixes
- Protips widget
- Flip-to-loudspeaker, etc. app called "PhoneMotion"
- Project Llama music player (pinata)
- Project Llama launcher (slingshot)
- Unique wallpapers designed by me (they're better than you'd think)
- Advanced settings app, music settings, etc.
The idea is for this to be packed full of features, run AOKP settings and fix all the annoying little things I didnt like when using CM or AOKP.
I am trying to throw everything I know into this ROM, I have arranged things behind the scenes with other developers to have this ROM built from source with modified device trees as well as other developers to have a Gerrit server and web server for the project. If you are interested in this project and wish to help me develop it then please contact me or just post on this thread.
Oh yeah, and Ivan is helping me a bunch
There is no download link as of yet, as I am still preparing stuff before a clean compile. This is also why I have been playing about with CM10 to try and get a clean compile of that, so I know the device tree works for project llama.
I also need a graphic designer if anybody's interested in designing wallpapers, bootanimations or themes for the ROM.
The devices that will most likely to be supported are:
* HTC Wildfire S (GSM)
.....(maintainer: Benjamin Gwynn)
* HTC Salsa
.....(maintainer: Benjamin Gwynn)
* Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM)
.....(maintainer: Ivan Brazza)
* HTC ChaCha
.....(maintainer: Lucas Arran)
Other devices that might be supported are:
* HTC Wildfire S (CDMA)
* HTC One V (GSM)
* HTC One V (CDMA)
* HTC Evo 3D (GSM)
* HTC Sensation
The reason this ROM is different is because it's a mix of stability from CyanogenMod, speed from RobotoMod and SlimBean and features from AOKP.
Gerrit currently isn't working for us, so if you wish to patch something, use pull requests for now
https://github.com/ProjectLlama
Please do not ask for a ROM download! It'll be ready when it's ready, a lot of testing needs to be done first, don't ask to test, we'll test internally
If you can speak another language then please say bellow
All other projects (besides CM10 for the marvel and CM10 for the icon_g) have been suspended in way for this.
Thanks to Eoghan for his server hosting!
IF YOU WANT TO HELP BUT CAN'T DEVELOP, PLEASE DONATE INSTEAD. WE DON'T NEED TESTERS UNLESS SPECIFIED.
Our new website is here: www.projectllama.tk

Also reserved, you'll like whatever goes here I guess.
Nice
I am not criticizing but i thought bugs will be fixed and then there will be ROMs CM10 based... Not like in AOKP
Nice! We'll waiting for a first release .
I speak spanish, by the way. I think I could help with the translation.
When this is built, could I port it to the HTC hero gsm, HTC Droid Eris and HTC hero cdma?
Oh and will this have an AOKP core? just to be clear
Nice to see a good rom in progress......I just hope it's built soon

I was hoping a stable JB and then customs roms based on JB.... At this time only you and modpunk are working on our device. You giving up CM10 dev and modpunk already is leaving...
Don't you think It'll not be that stable?
Again I'm not criticizing but I don't wanna see Robotomod scene here. The development on Robotomod is almost finished halfway as far as I can see. :/

Thanks benjamingwynn, ill get started on compiling from source one day, if not, ill port it.
And everyone, ICS is rubbish compared to Jelly Bean, its better to work on that as it will run better and faster.

CM10 is stable enough on our device imho, I can still compile CM10 This ROM will be my daily driver, so I'll work on it a lot. I can use the CM10 device tree in this, so if a bug gets fixed in Wildfire S CM10, it'll get fixed in Wildfire S Project Llama.

What will be the size of the zips? Will it be like "HUGE" like Roboto or somewhat less than 200 MBs?

Some already added features are:
