Ive looked all over the web and literally did not sleep last night trying to figure this out, not a wink. I got this phone as new as used gets from ebay. It was unlocked, i relocked it and have the stock rom back on it. No matter what Ive tried I cant get audio with the youtube app in HQ/full screen mode, but if i select the "fast download" quality i have audio and of course less then ideal video. Ive tried hard resetting, someone suggested pulling the battery out to reset the speaker (speaker works fine with everything else), and someone suggested a hard reset, and then changing all internet connections to media net. this supposedly worked for them, but not me. Anyone have any ideas? Either i hear nothing out of the speaker in full screen or i hear static. Codec issue? Driver issue?.. Theres other youtube apps around that are from roms or made by google.. they work fine but the video quality just isnt there for me like it is on the stock youtube app, im a perfectionist, this is annoying especially since youtube worked on my last tilt 2. Is anyone else having this problem? I literally have not slept because its driving me nuts. Im usually able to fix this stuff, and my last tilt 2 that i broke had youtube working fine. Ideas????? Thank you so much for helping me keep my sanity and not be an insomniac perfectionist. I really appreciate it.
So YouTube works great, just not with the quality you expect?
lol, it's YouTube dude. Don't expect high quality.
You don't mention anything about wifi or 3g tho. Have you tried on wifi?
Help me please. This shouldnt be happening.
No it doesnt work great at all. In High quality download mode the picture is absolutely great but no audio at all. I didnt have this problem with my last tilt 2.. no audio in full screen/hd download mode. The video quality is amazing but i have no freakin audio unless i select it to be downloaded as a crappier quality "fast download" option. So "fast download" works (audio and video) but sucks by nature, and HQ/full screen has amazing video but no audio at all. Havent tried wifi, will do that now. If i dont repost an update by 6:45 P.M. eastern time that didnt work.
ok... i put wifi on, and now when i try to play a video it just says "connecting" and sits there... odd.??
helllllppppp
ok, got it to connect with wifi. still no sound in high quality/full screen mode.

Then there's something wrong with your phone. Why did you relock and flash stock?
ok... the genius somehow got it working! Just a matter of fooling around with settings that you wouldnt think of... thats why its called a bug. I have andvanced config.... so i turned off "fixed landscape mode" and for the HTC audio booster settings i made sure they were all set to default... now its beautiful as it gets. crazy. once again, thats why they call it a bug. I need to get hired as an IT guy dammit.
Oh, and since re-locking the phone it has not froze on bootup at the orange windows mobile startup graphic. Not even once. It was doing it ridiculously frequently before.
Ha. Glad you got it fixed.
Silly WinMo.
thanks, and yeah it sure is.
HTC Touch Pro 2 CAB
Hello,
Does anyone have a working HTC Youtube app (perhaps cab) for the HTC Touch Pro 2? I had a problem with my original app not playing sound when viewing HD/HQ videos; however it played sound when watching in Fast Download, but the video quality was horrible. I downloaded the latest Google app which seems to play sound OK, but I not like the design of the app as the video playback did not fill the screen. Unfortunately, when I downloaded Google it overwrote the original HTC app and I cannot get it back without doing a hard reset, which I prefer not to do. I found HTC Youtube version 2.6 (Build 1922.4122) while surfing this board, but it does not play sound too. I think me original version was 2.6 (Build 2011.1727).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Maybe try this version?

RE: HTC Touch Pro 2 YouTube CAB
Thanks mr.horndoctor,
Unfortunately, this is HTC YouTube CAB - LEO YouTube_2_6_19224122.cab, which is the CAB that I am currently using and does not play sound in most HD/HQ modes. I am hoping to find my original version was 2.6 (Build 2011.1727), or greater that will work on the Touch Pro 2. What's interesting is I have seen this problem reported for quite some time, but I have not seen a final closure or resolution to the problem.
Thanks again for your effort.
hardcoresmylife, Could you tell me more details about this? I am also suffering from this issue.

I received a DHD today and am terribly excited as this is my first smart phone!! I do have one problem though:
When playing videos on say, the BBC iPlayer website, the right part of the video has about half a centimetre of artifacts down the side. Like that part of the video is covered by smoked glass (best way I can describe it). Every video on that site is the same.
Youtube is picture perfect however. Additionally, when I use the iPlayer app or view 4OD videos on the website (in HQ) there is no artifacting on the right of the video, but instead, on the bottom (about 2mm wide).
It's consistent and happens with all the videos on those sites. No where else have I seen this problem mentioned online, which is really frustrating because I feel like the phone is perfect in every other way! I have updated to Flash 10.2 and tried different web browsers, the problem is the same in each.
I'd just like to get the video on iPlayer et al working as well as the videos on YouTube. I hope that's reasonable.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
i'd have to double check, but im 99% sure i've had the same.
I guess it's flash, but who knows
It's really quite weird, as though it occurs in Flash 10.1 and 10.2, it seems to happen on the stock DHD browser and also the Dolphin browser. And it happens in slightly different ways whether the item is differing quality. But Youtube Flash video is absolutely perfect in all viewing options.
My DHD has come from Vodafone if that means anything!
It's a little disappointing as one would expect them to have worked out the obvious visual kinks before releasing the software! Especially as the DHD has such a cinematic display and the BBC iPlayer/Flash video is such an attractive selling point. The DHD is otherwise great to consume media on.
I'd hate to send the phone back and have the same problem with a new handset. Especially as I'm really attached to this little phone now! =)
A minor update to my saga of finickyness!
Both Dolphin and Miren browsers have the same rendering issue on BBC iPlayer (I suppose because they use the stock browser to render thingies).
Skyfire also seems to play the iPlayer videos with the minor artifact at the bottom, when in default mode and the artifacts on the right when in 'android' mode. Further research is commencing. I suppose it must be a Flash problem, but if it is, I'm surprised that no one else seems to have noticed this issue.
If any artifacts appear, your DHD most likely has a hardware issue.
I'm popping to Vodafone (later) today to see if any of the Vodafone handsets have a similar issue. Luckily I am within the 7 day period, so I can get a replacement if it's faulty.
It's a shame if it's a hardware issue. I can't fix that. =(
I solved the problem! Am posting for lawrence750 and any future users who happen upon this thread. It seems that installing Flash 10.2 and then uninstalling it fixed the issue entirely. Reinstalling Flash 10.2 causes the issue to return. I'm sticking with 10.1 until Adobe can get their act together!
Its strange that I actually originally upgraded to 10.2 on order to fix the problem in the first place, but since downgrading the videos are now picture perfect. =D
thnx for the info.will help many.
Tryed to install the app from this thred http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056793 .
The app seems working and alow me to do video call. The only problem is that from the phone I can see who is on the other side while not possible the other way round. Seems that the rear camera is disabled. Anyone else having this issue? olved Somehow?
PS. I know it's weird to use the rear camera, so please is useless to remember this.
Problem fixed. Needed to install googleservicesframwork.apk . Now everything is working better than expected.
Hey man, did you use the googleservicesframwork.apk from the very same thread?
I updated it using this file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233682 and it sort of works fine, only thing is that my camera is still not transmitting to the other side, they see black screen. I see them fantastic, sound is great as well.
Can you point out what version of files you installed?
Thanks in advance
Update: It works when my girl video calls me from xperia mini, by "it works" I mean it works with known limitations, and that is 10s lag on my video, I see her real time. It didn't show video on pc, but it is not an issue for me, audio works great though, and that is what I need.
Desire Z video calls...SOLVED? (".)
I wonder is there any apps out there that are able to switch the hardware internally, and point it to external webcam.
What I'm trying to get at is using remote desktop on laptop at same time as phone being used as the webcam? Would this not solve the issue at hand.
So I would suggest the following steps...
Install remote web desktop app on dz > Launch browser on laptop/pc/Spare desire Z (hey they're discont'd after all!) > point phone and go !!
Let me know if this is solved for you (".) Smiley face (".)
Ok first off, I love the Galaxy Nexus. However I am a very intense user and always push things to the limits
So I have noticed a few oddities:
1. This morning the volume went down on its down. I actually saw the volume bar appear and decrease, as if I was pushing down on the rocker. It happened twice. Both times I was hammering the phone so perhaps it's related to RAM? The first time I was moving six 400mb avi files from one folder to another using a file manager app, and listening to MP3s at the same time.
2. I heard this phone has visual voicemail, but my voicemails appear in the same way as they did before. (a text telling me to dial the vm number). Any ideas? I am on Vodafone UK contract.
3. When I bought the phone and turned it on, I entered my google account details. The phone then installed a bunch of apps I had installed on my last phone, the HTC Desire. Some of these apps I didn't want any more so I uninstalled them. This was all fine until I woke up this morning and found the phone had downloaded and reinstalled them again overnight!! What's going on here?! Will I wake up tomorrow to find them appear again?
4. The Android Market sometimes has the movies page, and sometimes doesn't. Very odd. It's up to date so I don't know what that's about. Also there's now a Vodafone section to the Market. It's a non-branded phone so I am a little surprised. There must be a network dedicated section now.
5. The BBC iPlayer is missing from the market. Why is this? I am in the UK and it's always been there before.
6. I have found it tough to find a movie player app that plays my avi and mkv files. Rockplayer doesn't want to work now. MXPlayer doesn't run at all. Mplayer is ok but the videos are not that smooth. What else is there to try??
I hope this post has given a helpful insight into the Galaxy Nexus - it would be great if an expert could please address some of these issues for me.
Thanks all
Jonny

I have noticed this too, odd! I thought it was because my hand was near it, but definitely haven't clicked the buttons so.. hrm!
I too have noticed that BBC Iplayer is missing.
Also, I went on the BBC website and tried a flash player video... not working.
Tried downloading flash and it's not compatible?
Anyone know why or if it is permanent?

I think I saw a thread saying that Diceplayer has been updated for the GN - not used it myself, but might be worth a look into. They claimed it's hw decoding avi and mkv.

You will find that because it is a new OS version, some apps will have to be updated to show in the market.
E.g. BBC probably labelled their iPlayer app as being compatible with Froyo, Gingerbread and Honeycomb so until the app is updated it won't show for ICS users.
Other app makers may have just labelled the app as "works with all versions" or "works with Froyo or later" for example.
I too have had an issue with the volume going down and then immediately going up again. Quite weird. Only happened twice since yday.

For your visual voicemail you need to register with Google Voice, unless Vodaphone has its own app for it.

No Google voice in the UK.
There an app called Visual Voicemail Plus that provides this service (for, I believe, a small fee).
the missing apps are due ICS 4.0 not being compatible with those old apps
you have to wait for those old apps to be ICS 4.0 compatible for them to show up again on Market
I had the volume issue where it kept going up and down by itself a few times today.
but since about 4pm it hasn't happened again...
Could it be that the volume issue has something to do with some preset profiles that should not be there?

i've got the volume problem too. Picked up my phone today and its done it about 5 times in the past hour or so while i've been playing with the phone. usually coincides with me sending/ receiving a text message. Really annoying problem as i dont know i have received a text most of the time.
Mhhh. thats a handful of users now with the SAV-Ghost (had to give it a name - self-adjusting volume) .
Biggest worry I have seen yet (apart from flash which will be sorted out sooner or later)....
When the volume started changing on it's own, did the temperature suddenly drop and lights started flickering?

I am having an issue with videos recorded on my LGG4. During playback on the phone or uploaded to Facebook, there is a constant clicking noise that can be heard over any recorded sound on every video. I have tested several different recordings and all are the same. Here is a short sample that you can listen too...
https://goo.gl/photos/h2aYZNoqCQJNMSoo7
Bad phone or is there a easy fix?
Hi. I have the same playback issue on my G4. I tried recording with Google Camera and I had no problem, no weird sounds or whatever. I guess this happens only when using the stock camera app. Mine is updated to MM v20a.
Hi, same problem here. That's the second exchange with amazon, the first one had display issues (random white noise on the right half of the display) this one has the clicking noise during video recording on the left channel. Seems like it's related with the wifi module: disabling it the clickning noise disappears, but the audio recording is still bad compared to the previous g4 i returned to amazon.

I have the same issue. Strange that everything is fine when using different app. Looks like firmware problem ? Did you sort it out ? I have just updated my phone to Android 6.0 v20c .
guys, can you try turn off wifi then record video , do you still have clicking sound ?
if u use a case, try record without the case.
Hi. I have switched my wifi off and I did not notice any changes. Still I can hear clicking noise. I do not use any cases. Strange that everything is fine when I using google camera open app... I found out that lots of people noticed the same issue. It cannot be hardware problem...
I have the same problem, but ONLY and ONLY if wifi is on, i get clicking sound in stock camera WITH wifi on, in other apps i dont have it, but when i turn it OFF , clicking sound is gone... even when i record video and during recording i turn of wifi, sound instantly dissapears, for me it's the wifi problem, i can upload video if you dont belive me
I have the same clicking noise with or without wifi on. I did not notice any issues when using open google camera app. Looks like it is stock camera app fault ?

clicking sound comes near earpiece.what default camera does is that it records audio from secondary mic which is near earpiece.whereas 3rd party camera womt use secondary mic.that too clicking sound will come more when wifi/bluetooth is ON.
Same here, and clicking goes away with WiFi off.
Wanted to ask, did anybody return and got a replacement device based on this? Or even had it fixed by service?
I mean, are there devices that don't have this problem? Cause if there are, then it's a valid warranty/service request.
I have got my mother board replaced.

Was that the only problem it had? And is the problem gone now?
We purchased one of these in December and there was no issue with the phone. We had to return the phone for another reason and when we got it back it was updated to the latest version of Android Marshmellow (It was on Lollipop when it left) and the clicking was there. We also noticed a minor reduction in photo quality, not something I can put a finger on it, but when we first got it the photos were awesome, now they are not so clear, colourful, sharp.
Edit:
We sent it back for repair again due to the clicking and when we got it back (last night) nothing changed, it still makes the same noise.
I can stop the clicking but I have to turn off Wifi, Data and bluetooth and then it seems to go away.
As I'm new to Android I'm hesitant to see if I can take it back to Lollipop and see if it stops the problem.
What version of software are you on?
Does turning off Wifi, Data, Bluetooth help? Or does it just reduce the sound?
Do the pictures seem less then what a camera with these specs should have?
Marshmallow v20d. Yes turning off things makes the clicking go totally away. Can't comment on picture quality change, as I updated to marshmallow as soon as I got it.
Had mine sent two times in less than a month, on its way to the third this week.
First time was sent with this audio problem and battery swelling. They replaced the battery and the charging connectors, but said they could not reproduce the earpiece clicking noise during their tests, despite the fact that I had included in the phone a video example showing the problem, clear instructions on how to replicate the problem and the shop lady confirming - in writing - that she had tested and confirmed that there was a clicking noise problem. Problem was, when I received the phone from the first repair I was unable to test whether the audio problem was gone or not because they changed the last account associated to the phone, completely blocking me from accessing it and verify if the audio problem as still present.
Sent back a second time on the same day, with even more clear details on how to reproduce the audio problem - since they failed to reproduce the first time, I assumed it was still there - returned after a simple software upgrade and I was able to finally enter the phone. Came home, tested with WiFi (store's wifi was down) and the audio problem was still there, completely unchanged.
Tested without SIM (in case LTE/GSM etc. could be causing interference with WiFi), tested without SDCARD (at this point I was just trying to see what they did to NOT replicate the problem) and tested with 5GHz wifi, in case the problem was only with 2.4GHz bands. No change, the audio problem was always there.
After reading this thread, and other threads in different forums, I am certain that this is a hardware problem and I will demand that the store tech writes in the warranty sheet that he confirmed the problem, along with a very detailed step-by-step instruction guide to replicate the problem, video example included inside the phone and a link to video example hosted only for them to hear clearly what the problem is, just in case they fail to understand the obvious (https://youtu.be/oZOb8tIl5lw). Finally, I'm going to contact LG directly to report this situation and to take action if the incompetent brand techs fail to replicate and fix the problem yet again.
The only good part about all this is that they have been really fast, no more than week and a half (weekends included) for both "repairs".
NFC was the issue on my android Nokia 3
I have a brand new Nokia 3 running android 7.1.1
It also has the problem of audio clicks on video recordings. THE PROBLEM IS NFC. When NFC is disabled the clicks go away. Not impressed with a 2017 smartphone model having thus issue. Though Nokia probably have the Microsoft bug curse
I have the same problem with my 2016 LG G4. I sent my phone to LG Service and they replaced my speaker obviously not resolving the problem... now I'm sending it back again.
Hello to everyone!
I just purchased today the Samsung Galaxy Tab s4, and coming from the Nexus 10 I was astonished by the speed of the device ?
The only thing that bothers me a lot is that whenever I try to watch YouTube, Vimeo, Netflix, Facebook videos or any other streaming video app, the audio is out of sync slightly from the video. This happens only when using the tablet speakers or wired headphones, but not with Bluetooth headphones. On Bluetooth the audio sync if perfect. Also playing locally stored files on the tablet itself, the audio sync is perfect regardless of using speakers, wired or Bluetooth headphones.
I've searched and tried everything I could find (latest update, clear app cache, restarted multiple times, disabled stock anti-virus, force gpu rendering on developer options) and nothing works!!
Has someone else had these issues? Can someone please help me, is there any suggestions? Maybe an app or setting for audio latency adjustment? I'm willing to flash a custom rom on the device (been using LineageOS on my Nexus 10) but can't find anything for Galaxy tab s4.
Thank you!
Any answer someone?

Just replying to say that I have the same issue and it is beyond irritating!
I haven't noticed this at all
No issues here. All in perfect sync.
I already contacted my countries Samsung support about this issue. They said they will investigate it and contact me.
I hope this can be fixed because I basically can't watch videos with that delay.
Also I have an audio latency while watching stock videos stored in the tablets memory.
I'm sending my tablet for service tomorrow, but I've read a lot of horror stories... I hope that I don't end up in one of them

damn, I wonder If I should do the same... I wonder how many people just do not notice it, because delay is very small...
Just want to add to the list, noticed the same and posted on a german forum - but no one even responded there. Maybe no one realizes the issue.
It is best described, as if you have connected bluetooth headphones, which always have a slight delay when watching video. It's not much, maybe 0,3/0,5 seconds.
Please keep us informed about what samsung did and wether the issue could be resolved.
Yep me too
Is subtle, but is there
So I am pretty sure is a software issue
Or many many units are wrong....
I opened yesterday a same topic on Samsung's official forums.
ice0cold, Dedusa23, q173242 and hardpike, if you can write on that thread also maybe it is helpful, someone may see it from Samsung. You can find the link below

I have to say that I did notice this short after buying it.
But yesterday I checked and now seems ok
I did check amazon, netfliz and one movie with mx player
All good now

what about Youtube? I'm still having the same delay.
I thinkni still seeing a slight voice delay
I'm in the USA and have same issue...
I bought my tab S4 as an open box from Best Buy. Audio is slightly out of sync, behind video in most apps. YouTube is the worst, but in Amazon Prime Video it seems perfectly in sync. I went to a different Best Buy and looked at the demo model. Same sync issue as mine! Next time I visit the store I bought it from I will check their demo model.
Hopefully it's not a hardware issue because Amazon works fine. Could be some underlying Android video API causing the problem....one Amazon doesn't use?
Recent update.
I took it to a Samsung service point and they are deniyng the problem.. They say they don't see anything wrong hardware wise and that the delay is so slight that is barely noticeable by them.. I'm going to wait a couple of months and if nothing changes with a new firmware update I'm going to sell it and get a new one. Samsung honestly I'm very pissed with you and your representatives...

I just noticed it again, when watching Netflix.
I haven't noticed the issue in other applications. Will have a look.
My former tablet is the first Tab S 10.1 and this was never an issue.
I will try using BT-Headphones, wich i did not yet try.
Also, I will look at different Apps, but Netflix is most annoying.
It is probably a good idea to submit an error report to Netflix.
