If anyone has any suggestions or cases that I have missed, feel free to add them with corresponding links.
I like this thread. If it stays updated I'd like to see it get stickied.
I hear trident cases coming but has this been confirmed or is it just rumored?
Nice thread. If its possible to make a poll for these. That would be a lot better.
Thanks!
This will definitely be updated. I look at it as my contribution to our community. Doing some more research now.

i t look nice and feel good but last about 3 week the top benzel keep getting loose so i wenty back and got a D30 flex protective cover. It great so far
I just saw these cases and was intrigued by them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Her...094614?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a1642ac16 Does anyone know if these are a good fit? I think im gonna try them on my SG2 but I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with them?
Has anyone tried the incipio feather case? Looks nice. I hate cases that make the phone heavy.
I just got and installed the incipio silicrylic case, got it for $25 with online coupon. Fits perfectly, adds just the right amount of weight, and the phone feels really protected now. I'm glad I got this one - the feather light case looks nice too - but this has that case with a snap on plastic shell that fits and looks great!

Hi guys,
Haven't posted a video in about 5 days now so I thought you all deserved this little write up Got the review of the SGP Argos coming soon, hopefully this helps anyone out - feel free to ask questions below and i'll help you out !
Hard Shell Cases
SGP Ultra Thin Air– $24.99 – Thinnest snap on the back case on the market, adds virtually no bulk to the device. Unfortunately not as tight a fit as I would like, will offer no drop protection and the glossy backing gets smudged up very quickly. Do not recommend as the Case-Mate Barely There is a better option.
Video Review - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rZl8TqS9KQ
SGP Linear Pure Series - $24.99 – Hard plastic case comprised of a 3 piece split design. Great idea in paper but not well executed. The bumper pieces fit tightly but the back plate is loose. Will provide a moderate level of protection and style but cannot get past the loose backplate. Not recommended for this reason.
Video Review- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WHK6l8n_wU
Mugen Power 3200 mah Extended Battery- $100- 3200 mah extended battery with replacement back cover. Battery runs like a champ, nearly doubling the performance of the stock battery. Back cover is textured so provides great grip and is comfortable to hold. Back cover does add considerable thickness and bulk and phone looks weird.
Video Review- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLLNFWehfl8
SGP Argos Leather - $39.99- Real leather case featuring a front flap protector for the screen. Materials feel awesome, premium quality. Offers great protection and style. Front flap can be bothersome and annoying for some. Adds some bulk to the phone. Overall, good option for those that like the style, very classy and high quality but not all will like the style.
Video Review- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuMtRx-3P2Q
SGP Neo Hybrid EX- $26.99- Bumper style case - two pieces that wrap around the phone's sides. Great design and look, very well built. Protection wise, you won't get much - should be used by people who don't drop their phones often, very minimalistic. A little expensive for what you get, but a good case nonetheless.
Video Review- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAUGUdbJsXE
Silicone, TPU and Rubber Cases
Rearth Ringke - $16.99 – A silicone case coated in a high quality polymer which repels dust and lint as well as providing a smooth finish. Thin and flexible, could be a little tighter fitting onto the device. Cutouts and ports are great. Won’t offer much drop protection but does offer good scratch protection – a decent choice for average users.
Video Review - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8c0oLjVQ1A
SGP Ultra Capsule - $21.99 – Features a form factor similar to the Incipio NGP, although it is slightly thinner and more flexible. Buttons are much easier to press on this case – glossy/sparkly back looks good but can pick up fingerprints easily. Overall it is a decent choice, most should be pleased with it. Includes a Steinheil screen shield for screen protection.
Video Review- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLBIdZEfz9k
Incipio NGP- $19.99– TPU case with a soft touch finish on the back, comfortable to hold and grippy, offers a medium level of protection and cutouts are great. The major issue relates to the buttons being stiff and hard to press since they are full TPU and have not been cutout on the inside. Still a good choice for the average user, price point is good.
Video Review- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPJG6NEgj-M
Hybrid Cases
Case-Mate Pop - $34.99 – Comprised of a hard, glossy plastic wrapped around silicone rubber, the Pop is a popular but pricey case. Looks fantastic until the plastic begins to scratch up and the silicone tends to wear off, these however are only visual issues. If you don’t mind the visual effects, the case offers great protection and is a good option. Built-in kickstand is good as well.
Video Review - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORvVQmn57es
Otterbox Commuter Series- $34.99 – A two piece case made up of a soft inner silicone layer encased by a hard plastic spine. Spine has areas that are matte and others that are glossy, wish they’d all be matte. Glossy areas can be slippery and silicone attracts dust. Case is bulky but offers fantastic protection, can be pricey but highly recommended to those that need the protection.
Video Review - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwNISYXJ3QI
Skins/Screen Shields
BodyGuardz Armor Carbon Fiber - $19.99 – Thin carbon fiber-like skin that is easy to apply and remove from your device. Won’t add much drop protection but do provide scratch protection to your device. Not meant for users who need protection, but rather those who want a stylish and unique alternative to cases. Included screen shield is a plus.
Video Review - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyyfvvegDuU
SGP GLAS- $31.99 – Real Glass screen protector, offers touch and feel almost exact to that of the naked screen on the Galaxy S2. Will provide good protection as well, extremely easy to install since it is thick, includes home button protectors. Unfortunately, can reduce sensitivity on touchscreen while charging and is quite expensive for a screen shield. Cannot be reused.
Video Review - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdkH9q8ZHBY
SGP Ultra Optics - $15.99 – High quality screen shield offering an anti-fingerprint coating while barely affecting screen quality. Extremely easy to apply onto device (plus you get 2 in a pack!) – has a slightly squeak sound due to coating, it can be annoying to clean off built up dirt over time. Most will be pleased with this shield.

Haven't seen many of them in the USA or websites I frequent. I gave my Galaxy S2 to my mom so I won't be reviewing any more cases for the i9100, however I will be getting the USA version and continuing reviews there, sorry!

Amazing summaries man. If you can, please post mini pics of the cases beside each review, so we can have a quick glance and know what we might want. Just a suggestion. Keep up the great work.
hey Ploone,
Do you think that BodyGuardz Armor Carbon Fiber would fit fine with extended 3200-3500 mah battery? Would the extended battery cover be fully covered like the normal one?
Thanks

Hi there,
I doubt it, it might still work well but I don't think it will cover the whole back. I've compared my Mugen to my original and the Mugen takes up more space since it extends outwards as well.

Hello all,

EDIT: Also you can add the SGP Neo Hybrid and SGP Neo Hybrid EX to the list. First one has a loose are around the camera (as seen in another thread) and the other one fits nicely.
I would put some pictures up but I don't own all of them, and a few I've checked out in Retail stores, however If I buy any that fit, i'll make sure I post up photos of the fit.
Then just put the pictures in you own. Some others who have the extended battery and a case could send you their pictures and you could implement them into your post.
When I get my S2, 2000 mAh battery and decided for a case i will do some pictures for you, too.
PS: You could link every name of the cases to their official pages, too.
Here are some:

Hi all!
Yes, as most soft cases the Graphix fits, but you'll see some looseness in the camera section. Also, I did not like the grip of this case at all, it felt slippery imo.
I went for the Neon hybrid instead, very satisfied.
How tight is the fit on the Case Mate Tough case with the 2000mah battery? I like the look of it and just placed an order for it. Is it so tight that there's a risk of damaging the phone?
Zenus Skin Air Jacket
Just got the new battery and put it in my Zenus Skin Air Jacket... dont know what to say... sadly it doesnt fit... but its useable.
The edge of the phone comes out a bit and therefore the access to the volume and powerbutton is limited.
I made some photos but cant post the links due lack of postcount
The Walnutt bumper fits for sure, but hell, it it even fits my Momax 2700mah Expower batts, so that's a moot point.
I am within the M25 and have an otterbox for my S2 if you need to try it then pm me.
what is the sense of using a bumper of a sgp neo hybrid ?
i mean, isnt the purpose of a case to cover the whole phone? both the examples above mentioned appear to just cover the borders of the phone, leaving uncovered the whole back of it.
actually sgp neo hybrid series sounds just like a overpriced bumper.
anyone, can prove the opposite?
actually i am very interested in this because it looks like there is no real hard non/bumper case fitting with the new battery: and the only (crappy) solutions appear to be either bumpers or gum/rubber cases ...

IT fits but the rubber part is under a small amount of pressure, pushing the phone out of the hard plastic casing. it is MINIMAL, if your like me and fiddle with your phone all the time, it is just a case of pushing it with the lightest touch back in.
It won't damage the phone unless your trying the impossible (pushing the phone into the bottom cutout.) and pushing so hard you crack the hard plastic shell in otherwords impossible. the ideal would be to cut the rubber out in the shape of the battery lid compartment. on the rubber part, then assembling with the hard casing. so you remove the tension off the added thickness.
if I have a hybrid neo spg .... and put the battery without the back cover ... only with the case spg ... looks good? or can cause problems? (Sorry for my English)

Cool. Thanks for the detailed description. I hate to mangle new case, but I may have to do that. Wonder if cutting out the battery compartment rubber part may reduce shock resistance of the case.
Can anyone tell me if it will fit in the Samsung Leather Pouch?
If not are there any other 'pouch' style cases that will?
thanks

On Saturday, we headed out to our local mall in an attempt to find a case for our new Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 that we purchased off of Craigslist. As no surprise to us it was easier to find accessories than the actual phone. As you know if any phones are out there, they were probably a pre order. Sprint stores just began selling today.
AT&T had the best selection actually. There were a few Casemate cases, Body Glove, the Samsung flip cover thingamajig, and this Ballistic case. Since there wasn't an Otterbox anywhere to be found locally, I pulled the trigger on the Ballistic case.
On their website it appears that the silicone portions are very well manufactured. You don't see the little ridge going around it (probably from two pieces put together) and the other imperfections. That makes it really look like a premium product. Otterbox pretty much has their manufacturing process down to a science.
One thing they note on the clip is that the device can only be mounted faced towards the inside. This is great, but I do like option on most Otterbox Defender cases where I can turn it outwards. The clip swivels 360 degrees. That's definitely a plus. It's annoying when clips can't spin the full 360 degrees.
Here are some details from their website:
It’s time to live your life to the Maxx. The Samsung GALAXY S III’s minimal and organic design is reflected in the smooth and non-linear lines of the device. Its human-centric nature provides an ergonomic and comfortable experience with enhanced usability.
Our Ballistic SG Maxx Series offers 4 layers of the best engineered drop protection on the market. This baby offers a durable holster, port covers, a no-slip grip, reinforced corners, but most important a replaceable, rigid, screen protector that provides amazing impact protection.
Advanced four layers of protection
Layer 1 - Molded screen protector provides impact protection for your screen
Layer 2 - Ballistic shock absorbent polymer

If you really think you're going to stay with this device and case for a while the user replaceable screen protector might be an advantage to you. The plastic screen protector will probably offer more impact protection that a ZAGG InvisibleSHIELD or something similar. However, especially when looking a white screen, you can tell how much worse the view is. You can see all the colors of the rainbow. This does happen with most Defender screen protectors I've seen and to a little extent in other products. Good news here is that you can replace that portion with a ZAGG or whatever you desire.
You can lay the phone face down with this case. I find this handy in office environments where you don't want people to know that everyone including your mother are blowing up your phone with texts or Facebook messages.
I'm not keeping this case, but it does offer a lot of protection. I think I'll keep my S3 sleek and sexy for now.

Ballistic Cases on eBay.
I already know one person who might respond that this is not the SG MAXX case, but it is. Just saying that I honestly don't believe they would push out 10 of these cases to one store with some the wrong labeling.
By the pictures on their site you can see that the plain SG series does not come with a clip AND there is no 3.5mm headphone jack port.
On the bottom, by the capacitive touch buttons I do have a bump that makes it harder to hit the menu and back buttons. On their website neither case has these. They might have made changes. This could be an early production run. I'd hate for them to have added them later. The cut of the silicone just isn't clean in my opinion, and I'm really not a big stickler on stuff. It just looks like something with a made in China sticker.
Man i used Ballistic with all my other fones seems they dropped the ball with the one for the S3 what were they thinking with the clearance of the buttons

This is a nice comparison of the Ballistic case for Galaxy S3 vs Otterbox Defender. They show the size difference also
http://smartphonepedia.com/galaxy-s3-otterbox-defender-vs-ballistic-case.html
I just picked up the regular SG case for my S3 and I am not really impressed. My biggest gripe is that there is no protection for the camera. I was wondering if the SG MAX or otterbox case provided these.
Also, the SG caused my SD card to mount and un-mount very rapidly. Not sure what was happening there. The SG case is also causing my ArmorSuit skin to peel around the edges.
My experience with the S3 has been less than ideal.
The silicone feels very cheap on this case and that screen protector is the dumbest thing ive ever seen. And you do have the ballistic maxx the person who was posting on your youtube video dosent realize when ballistic says 5 layers of protection there including both the holster and screen protector

I figured they were counting anything they could as a layer. That person is on XDA. They just wouldn't stop arguing so thanks. I'm glad Ballistic didn't donate this product because I had to tell the truth!

Bought the Commuter, returning it tomorrow, the side buttons are a nightmare to push! Put my phone back into the Speck candyapple case and the buttons are smooth as silk. This a deal breaker for me.

i hope the # 2 case is a little better because i have the #2 case in the mail i hope i dont have to return it
I have the Commuter. As cc999 said, the side lock button is a nightmare to press. You have to press it hard. No exaggeration. Thankfully the screen can be unlocked using the hardware home button. The volume buttons are hard but their not that bad. Funny thing is I had the Commuter on my Galaxy S2 and it was an amazing case. Used to drop the phone on purpose because I could, lol.

I had the Commuter and swapped it for a Trident Aegis. I got used to the Aegis with my Epic Touch, being able to actually feel the power button press.
Otterbox cases are really ugly, and they look big and bulky.

+1 (or is that -1?) from another dissatisfied Commuter. Incipio saved the day for me.

Yeah,... that Aegis on the Epic Touch is a nice match, I have to agree. The Aegis was the first and only case I put on the S2. After my struggles with Otterbox and the flappy-n-loose fit on the Evo 3D and the original Evo, I decided to do Trident. Not a big fan of the Aegis styling tho,... kinda reminds me of all the glass figures at my elderly aunts house if you know what I mean. Those uneven sides and not one corner looking like no other styling was a bit too much for me. I also noticed from the pics, that Aegis is now doing the same thing that I thought was not very smart on the part of Otterbox. They've decided to do away with outer shell support for the silicon inner layer on the top and bottom of the phone. I can almost predict that the silicon top-n-bottom will stretch and loose their fit after a few weeks,... just like it did with the Otterbox. I think Otterbox learned from that and on their S3 Commuter, designed the outer shell to give symmetrical support for the silicon inner layer on all four sides. What scares me now is all the not so good reports about how they thought out protection for the power button and volume rockers. If things are as bad as I'm reading, the Commuter that's on its way here will be returned. I have the Defender on S3 #1 now and it's a solid 'Go'. Hoping to dress S3 #2 in the Commuter.

Yeah, they are a little industrial looking. But that's a good look for me. They're not as bulky as they look once you get it on. Internet pics don't help either with that feeling,... nor does seeing the Defenders on all our friends iPhones and older phones. I've seen a couple Defenders on evo 3D's and man were they were massive. But looking at the Defender on a S3's is so different. Now if you wanna really see bulk, check out the Kraken or anything from Ballistic!

I have the commuter but I'm looking for something else because of the buttons, so stiff. I mostly keep my phone in my pocket at work so I need something slim but durable. Any recos?
I would go with a bulkier case. The phone has to look like a brick.
I got the Commuter (black) because I don't have any use for a holster Loving it. Only sticking point is I have to press the power/volume buttons pretty hard since it's basically a rubber knob overlay on top of the actual keys.

LOL! I sorta agree with Louis. I just got my commuter from J&R and like the reports say, the buttons are kinda stiff. But after holding it in my hands, I'm thinking they'll loosen up a little over time too. Let's just say I hope they will! But the case itself is a definite Go!

Hi guys,
I am looking for a case for a new Galaxy Nexus I bought..
I would like to request answers with advantages and disadvantages for the following cases:
* SGP Ultra Hybrid
* SGP Neo Hybrid
* Diztronic Matte Back Black / Smoke
I must say - I am working in a really rough place - this is why I need a slim and yet really though case
And I currently own a Galaxy S2 with SGP Neo Hybrid case - and I was pretty impressed by its greatness of protecting my phone
But I would like to acquire a case that is a one piece and not two pieces
BTW - please vote on my poll
Thanks in advanced,
Din.
I have the diztronic case and I can say that it does a good job of protecting the phone while still feeling slim in the hand. I can't speak for the SGP as I've never tried one.
I recommend either the ultra hybrid or ultra capsule. They're light , durable, and stylish. Had them both
Sent from my GNex
Diztronic case here also. Great slim case for the price. Nice fit also even with 2000mah extended battery.

Thanks for the comments so far,
One thing I didn't mention - the price isn't my concern..
Please - more comments..

The ultra hybrid or ultra capsule cases...anybody have a link I never hear of those??
here - ultra hybrid:
http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/google/sgp-samsung-galaxy-nexus-case-ultra-hybrid-series.html
you can find the others in their website
I'm using a cruzerlite right now and love it. The colors they provide, the protection you get, and the soft case that doesn't make it that much bulkier. The only thing is that it's been pushing up on my screen protector..

thank you..looks good..i,m really liking the Mercury tpu cases..waiting for my yelow one to arrive
the diztronic has more lip on it so I would go that route for slightly better protection. the mercury TPU cases are also really nice but they only fit the GSM variants.
I have the Dizitronic case as well. I have some others that I use but that is my primary one. Provides a decent amount of protection and doesn't add much bulk - I like the lip on it as well because I can set the phone down on its face without any concern.
If you want something that is more 'tough' might want to check out the Incipio Silicrylic cases as well. Dual layer so will probably handle a drop better than these TPU style cases. I use that for days when I am being active (running, hiking, etc).

Yup..i know,thats what I have..GSM..the Future :]
i have the Ultra hybrid and while it doesnt provide that much protection you arent going to find a thin case that offers any true protection, If you want a protective case i would go with the Kraken or Otterbox or something of the like. Otherwise the fit and design of the Ultra Hybrid is absolutely perfect if you have a GSM phone it provides good protection for cosmetic damage and has a small lip which provides some level of protection when you place the phone screen side down.
the Ultrahybrid also does not attract lint nor does it stick in your pocket like some other TPU/silicon cases. I personally recommend the ultrahybrid if you are going for a minimalist case.
The Neohybrid is one i would definitely stay away from especially if you use multiple batteries and need to pull the phone out of the case alot. Over time the silicon sleeve will become loose and just wont fit your phone nice and snug as it had before.
hope this helps.
- Cheers
I have neo hybrid and kraken. Kraken is like wearing a suit of armor. Its huge and heavy but a great case. I have the neo on it now and love it. Light, grips well and looks nice.
