Generic SIP Client - Windows Phone 7 General

Now that Mango supports sockets, where are the generic SIP clients? Does anyone know if any are under development at this time?

VPN Log In Problem with WM6 Black Edition

Not sure does anyone else have the same problem, I can't seem to log in VPN network through wifi in my school.
Tried bother Black Edn. v1.1 and v1.2, neither one can go through.
Anyone who succeed care to share the settings? I was told my log in ID or Password is wrong.
Or maybe it's the network which doesn't support WM6 yet?
Nobody uses VPN here?
I have the same issue, done a search and it appears that the TCP/IP stack is not binding with the VPN client software. This appears to be a general issue, I use the Checkpoint secure remote client but it also does not work with Cisco, maybe others. Unfortunately I do not know of a work round.
Malcolm
I have exactly the same issue with my WM6. I use the AT&T dialer on my laptop and try to connect over the umts connection created between my HTC Universal WM6 via usb connected to my laptop.
If you have any updates on this I would be grateful.

VoIP on WM6: SIP 5060 port is blocked

Folks,
I have problem with my hermes to use VoIP. 5060 port is blocked in my office(WiFi).
Strange thing is, my pc application(VoIP client software) connects without any problem. It says "You connected to the Voipbuster service using TCP". If I check use port 5060 in my pc application to connect to sip server, it acts same as my hermes.
Are there any ports or connection in VoIP since PC application connects?
Note: My hermes works perfectly in the other APs which are 5060 open.
Thanks in advance.

SmartPhone Network Access?

I purchased my Excaliber/Dash SmartPhone thinking the only major difference from PPC was touchscreen support and Office applications but now I'm having difficulty finding information on how to access network resources from a SmartPhone. My next phone will be a Windows Mobile Professional device.
The environment is a Windows 2003 Small Business Server Professional network. I can access the web server but cannot figure out how to browse the network or join the domain. I had to disable certificate checking in the Dash registry to connect via WIFI through the Radius Server. ActiveSync 4.5 works just fine with Exchange and Outlook.
I'm thinking maybe some third party software might help but I have no idea where to begin. Can someone point me in the right direction?
No RDP or network share support in non-touchscreen (standard) mobiles. Closest you can get is some kind of FTP app.
Why would you want to join your phone to a domain? I mean I know the option is there in professional devices, but what does it actually do for you?
Thanks for the information. Microsoft Active Sync allows you to browse the device from a computer (limited) so it doesn't appear that it would be that difficult to have the device at least browse the computer and possibly browse the network.
I dislike devices that have limited functionality built into them. For example. My Samsung T409 has WIFI and Bluetooth and GPRS/EDGE but the WIFI can only be used for T-Mobile [email protected] and Bluetooth can only connect to headsets. I understand that there are many reasons for this from economical to technical.
Similarly, restricting networking capabilities in mobile devices just doesn't make much sense to me but I suppose the typical Smartphone user would not care. I mean that's supposed to be the nature of mobile devices - seamless connectivity. When my T409 switches from a WIFI hotspot to a cell tower it's seamless. I don't even know that has occured until I look at the display.
And as for joining domains, that is like so many other things techheads do like overclocking, running multiple monitors, using KVMs and multiple computers, running Exchange and Internet Security and Acceleration Server and Windows Server Update Services and other stuff. Most people wont need to do this but it's a must for a Techy. Using domains for security and group policy is just a great way to manage computers and devices. And also the option is in my version of the WM6.1 cooked ROM.
In my never ending quest I found a decent application called MyMobiler which will allow you to view your Smartphone on a PC and to some extent control it. http://www.smartphone-freeware.com/download-my-mobiler-v1-0.html

SIP cleint for VOIP calls

We have SIP server located in LAN in office, I want to register to it using wi-fi. Fring does not work on my HTC P3300. It just crashes my mobile then need a restart only by removing battery, so not useful at all. I have tried SIP client on nokia N95 and worked fine. Need similar kind of SIP client for HTC P3300.
any clue guyss....
I've used fring, wengo and other VoIP applications (including modded driver to work integrated VoIP) and they work good...
The real problem is in WiFi that doesn't work in stand-by and in using external loudspeaker.
are u using fring on HTC P3300?.. if yes, why it is crashing my phone and not yours

I don't know, I've a P3300 with WinMobile6.1 (19702.1.0.2) ita and .NET3.5
Are you sure you have not installed other applications that conflict with fring?

I don't think is a problem if SIP server is in lan or in wan, the difference is only in setting the right IP for the server...
If the server is standard, the port you use is 5060...
I use Skype for low cpu, and it work very well with the original headset of P3300. I connect to internet through ADSL wifi in my house.
the setup is different here. i do not want to use it for personal use. Its in the office, where we have IP phones for everyone. SIp server is in LAN where we register and make internal and external calls.
I was not have .net 3.5.. will install it and try
Sorry, but I didn't understand the problem of which you discussed
I understood it after rereading the posts, but I never use a client for SIP server for VOIP calls.
SIP server is located in LAN, so there is no need to dial out anywhere in the internet. I require a SIP cleint which can allow me to insert my user credentials and locala SIP server IP address, Just like N95 SIP client if u know. frng and other softwares routes SIP info from internet to the SIP server but for that SIP server has to be located to internet which is not the case in here.
my credentials wud be something like this
un: xxx
pw: xxx
SIP server: [email protected]
port: 5060
registrar/proxy: 192.168.x.x (optional)
this is to register to SIP server from PDA. After this i wud require a simple cleint to dial.. thats all

Inbuilt SIP VoIP client working?

Just a quick question, has anyone gotten the inbuilt "Internet Calling" WM SIP client working on the TP2?
I've been reading all of the threads that I can find on this site to do with SIP, VoIP etc... and trying to get the InternetCalling app working on my TP2. I'm currently running Sergio's Cell Pro V11 ROM, but I've also tried it on the NRG Phoenix ROMs.
It seems that no matter what VoIP setup cab I use to install the client and it's constituent parts, no matter what registry settings I alter, and no matter what SIP provider I try, it always ends up at "No Service" after "Searching".
I just wondered if anyone had experience of getting it to work, either over Wifi, or over 3G?
I've also investigated whether the problem is that Vodafone UK block SIP traffic on their network, but I've not come across anything to say if they do conclusively one way or another?
I am getting the same problem, I think I am not using the right SIP server. On one of the tutorials it tells me to use my SIP server. I am with Telus but I don't know what the sip server is.
Same here. I could not get internal SIP working.
And fring is a resource hog. There is another software (talkonaut), but I don't have enough experience on that one.
