i have Wildfire S, S-OFF, with HBOOT 1.03.00, how i can make downgrade for makikng root ?
Can i setup other firmware w/o root ?
IMHO you no need to downgrade.
You can flash custom recovery (Clockworkmod based) and then make flashable zip with su and superuser.apk and flash it with recovery.
Or you then can flash some custom ROM (I have salsa port running)...

If I downgrade my HBOOT from 0.92 to 0.80 and root it and install Clockmodrecovery.
Can I download the original HTC Froyo ROM from the sticky thread with official RUU ROM's and flash it?
No. You don't root a bootloader. If you install the official ROM, it will remove root.
Okay thanks.
I see you're looking after the same as me, take a look in this thread. It's the official 2.2 rom with root access

That is a custom ROM, not the official/stock ROM (it's just very similar).

Hi, you don't need s-off to flash roms,do a nandroid backup of current setup before just in case.
just download cm version you desired. Put it on your sdcard. from cwm, wipe data/ factory reset, clear data, system and caches (not sdcard) then flash zipped rom from cwm. Don't forget the Google apps pack (gapps) if you need market etc etc. Flash directly after rom flash, before reboot for best results.
All you need is in here.

" once its gone,its GONE."
All you need is clockworkmod recovery version 3 and higher for flash CyanogenMod.
Unrevoked supports this hboot, my wildfire is rooted that way (but still s-on) and after u r rooted just flash the rom via recovery
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Hi All
Just got a One X
My old desire HD used to be s-on so i guess the procedure is pretty much the same for rooting etc
If I didnt want to use the all in one tool is the rooting / custom rom procedure as follows -
Unlock bootloader with HTCDEV
Fastboot Flash a custom recovery
Install SU via recovery to root or flash a custom rom that is already rooted
Install custom rom via recovery then flashboot flash the rom's boot.img
Stu
Yep that's it !
Don't forget to make a nandroid backup of the stock rom and keep it safe. You need it to obtain official ota's from htc !!!
hello i have an htc desire whit s-off on stock ruu and cwm recovery but no root and all over the internet they said that just revolutionary can root my gb stock rom but when i enter in revolutionary it just said that i have already s-off and ask me if i want to flash a custom recovery, no root question how can i root my desire? and something else i will not change my stock ruu whit an other one , this is the only that work on my desire and i don't want any custom rom so please is there anyone that can tell me how to root my desire?
Revolutionary does not root ur phone, it makes u s-off. To root, simply google superuser, and on that site, download superuser zip file and the su-binary for arm. Put both files on sdcard, boot recovery and flash both zip files and reboot.
Ok so I have a s-off hox
It has hboot version 1.36
Android version 4.1.1
Software number 3.14.720.24
I want to install ARHD on my device
I want to know how to root or install ARHD
I have done a lot of research for hours and now I am all confused
Thus asking for help
1: unlock the bootloader
2: flash a custom recovery
3: make a nandroid backup (not mandatory because you have s-off)
4: copy the rom.zip to the phone
5: flash the boot.img with fastboot commands
6: make a full wipe in recovery
7: install the rom.zip via the custom recovery
Enjoy
Thanks for your help
I want to know why is it not important to make a backup because I have s-off?
Also I want to know what is Firmware package
On ARHD thread it says that I need Firmware package
And Will I be able to revert back to ics once I install ARHD?
You have a supported hboot so no need for firmware stuff
You have s-off so you can downgrade to all hboots and software.
