If I downgrade my HBOOT from 0.92 to 0.80 and root it and install Clockmodrecovery.
Can I download the original HTC Froyo ROM from the sticky thread with official RUU ROM's and flash it?
No. You don't root a bootloader. If you install the official ROM, it will remove root.
Okay thanks.
I see you're looking after the same as me, take a look in this thread. It's the official 2.2 rom with root access
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741775
That is a custom ROM, not the official/stock ROM (it's just very similar).

I just have to follow this procedure?
What HBOOT you on?
2.2 comes with 0.92 if I'm not wrong, so no chance to root it. You need to downgrade.
thanks.. but the downgrade involves the loss of functionality (no file)?
You need to downgrade, root the phone and then you'll be able to install all roms (also froyo ones).
Can I do the root without install rom manager after?
Root is done with unrevoked and it install the recovery automatically. Then you can install or not rom manager app.
this is the guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745903) to downgrade but, can not find link files.
Keep original version of Radio when downgrade? Or overwritten by new ROM image?
( downgrade by thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003 )
I have official Gingerbread OTA, so hope i have newest official Radio.
I want keep this Radio, then use Radio S-OFF guide (not bootloader ENG S-OFF) and install custom ROM.
As far as i understand it, if you don't use the ENG-s off you won't be able to flash new Radios, which is recommended by most Chefs for best performance. But someone feel free to correct me

ON A MISSION
what is your build number i.e. Firmware?
if its lower than 1.7x just do ENG-OFF straight away...go HERE
if its 1.7x or greater, you need to downgrade first ... go HERE -- (downgrade, then root again to flash new ROMs -- use Visionary)
--When downgrading, you dont need to follow the whole thread since you're already rooted, and the thread explains how to get temp root to flash 1.32 RUU. so just skip to the part when you have to flash the RUU.
For 1.32 RUU, it can be found in the downgrade link.
For more things like ROMs, RUUs, Kernels, etc ... go HERE
Will installing the new 2.3.3 ROM for Desire from HTC (http://htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads) remove my root/S-OFF? Or should I go with something like this instead of the official one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040121
you don't install the update 2.3.3 because this rom is for developers, and remove root because the hboot change to 1.02.001. If you want to have root install rom
Just use this one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200261
It's as close to stock as you can get and it's rooted and still allows S-OFF
Hi,
I want to flash original Froyo 2.2.1 with Sense on my wildfire and I can't find it. Where can I download it?
And I don't have nand backup...
I found RUUs but if I understand correctly those are just updates, not ROMs, right?
And I wonder, can I have root "acces" after flashing original ROM? I read somewhere that i can't but post was from 2010 so...
RUU's are complete Stock ROM's by themselves. You will lose Clockworkmod Recovery and Superuser when you flash them. If you want to preserve both, then flash this Safe Flash RUU. (It's the Stock ROM with the Sock Recovery removed, and Superuser added)

Thanks,
It has sense on it, right?
Yes, it's untouched Stock Froyo with Sense. The only difference is that the rooted version has Superuser so you can run root apps, while the unrooted version doesn't.
