[Q] Need help installing ARHD - HTC One X

Ok so I have a s-off hox
It has hboot version 1.36
Android version 4.1.1
Software number 3.14.720.24
I want to install ARHD on my device
I want to know how to root or install ARHD
I have done a lot of research for hours and now I am all confused
Thus asking for help

1: unlock the bootloader
2: flash a custom recovery
3: make a nandroid backup (not mandatory because you have s-off)
4: copy the rom.zip to the phone
5: flash the boot.img with fastboot commands
6: make a full wipe in recovery
7: install the rom.zip via the custom recovery
Enjoy

Thanks for your help
I want to know why is it not important to make a backup because I have s-off?
Also I want to know what is Firmware package
On ARHD thread it says that I need Firmware package
And Will I be able to revert back to ics once I install ARHD?

You have a supported hboot so no need for firmware stuff
You have s-off so you can downgrade to all hboots and software.

[Q] Overwriting AlphaRev X Boot with Stock HBOOT

I've successfully set S-OFF for my HTC Wildfire using AlphaRev X Beta after doing these steps:
1- Downgraded HBOOT version from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001 (My Arabic based stock HBOOT version didn't work with AlphaRev X)
2- Using AlphaRev X Beta tool to set S-ON to S-OFF
3- Doing backup for ROM and Bootloader
4- Installing ClockWorkMod custom recovery
5- Doing stock ROM Nandroid backup.
6- Installing custom ROM: CM7
For some reason, I'd like to perform a complete stock factory reset, thus, I got the following:
1- Original HTC Wildfire 2.2.4 RUU (Arabic Locale): "RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_ARA_2.37.415.1_Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_166943_signed.exe"
2- Extraction of the existing RUU EXE file for rom.zip extraction.
3- Stock HBOOT 1.01.0002: "hboot_7225_1.01.0002_101227.nb0", extracted from stock rom.zip
The Question is: 1- How can I revert back to the original Wildfire for both: Stock ROM, Stock Recovery and Stock HBOOT?
Current HBOOT version: AlphaRev 6.01.1022 HBOOT
This means that installing RUU directly will fail as current HBOOT v. 6.01.1022 is too newer (apparently) than the included 1.01.0002 with the package.
In a question to the AlphaRev X Developer team, I only get one answer to overwrite HBOOT and it was:
Code:
fastboot oem mb 9C068490 1 30
fastboot flash hboot hboot_buzz_7225_1.01.0001.nb0
I'm not sure of those commands at all and I'm afraid doing those to brick my android.
2- I'd like also to know when should I use those fastboot commands?
3- Should I remove clockworkmod to do the fastboot commands?
4- What will happen to the bootloader and the custom ROM after executing those commands?
5- Can anybody explains what does the command fastboot oem mb 9C068490 1 30 mean?
I think all I need is just to overwrite HBOOT with stock one then perform the normal RUU from PC, so I just need help with this point!
I'm very appreciated for your help!
Afaik there's no way to get hboot 1.0 back yet.
Interesting, this probably implies a downgrader wont be needed!
I cant understand by "when" you should. The answer is obviously when you need to get your Stock HBoot! But, I would recommend you remove your Custom ROM and Clockworkmod before you attempt to restore your Stock HBoot. The Stock HBoot doesnt support Custom Recoveries and ROMs, and may lead to issues. Both can be removed by simply flashing any Wildfire RUU, which will restore your Stock ROM, Stock Recovery, but not your Stock HBoot.
Once that is done, follow the 2 commands given to you. But, I would recommend you to extract the HBoot from WWE Froyo 2.22.405.1, since it seems the commands are specifically for that HBoot. Not the 2.37 Arabic one you have extracted. While it should work with the Arabic ROMs HBoot, I wouldnt take chances.
For Fastboot commands, you will need the Fastboot and ADB Binaries for Windows. You can get them here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14693680
Then, place the nb0 file in the folder where you have placed your Fastboot binary, Open Command Prompt, Browse to it, and execute the commands. The first command obviously is some sort of command which allows "downgrading" of the HBoot.
Disclaimer Note - What all I have written above are from my understanding of your post. HBoot flashing is a very sensitive process, and, I am not responsible if you brick your phone.
Thanks 3xeno for the quick reply. I meant by when was in your reply (Firstly I have to restore stock recovery and stock ROM using the RUU then using fastboot commands).
I understand also that RUU I should use to restore stock recovery and ROM must have the HBOOT.nb0 removed in order not to get any HBOOT error during this process, is that true?
In another way, will the AlphaRev X HBOOT 6.01.1022 with S-OFF allow running stock recovery and stock ROM without needing to overwrite the HBOOT (some would prefer to overwrite to stock HBOOT for warranty stuff... etc)?
And my original stock ROM was Arabic based one, so the commands above won't work with me? (Note that second line will be hboot_7225_1.01.0002_101227.nb0 as from my information that HBOOT 1.01.0002 supports locale options.
Thanks!

First restore the stock things and then use those fastboot commands. You can also restore stock things (except hboot) from fastboot flashing or pc49img process.

I think some people even used ruu without removing hboot.nb0 (just for rooting after alpharevx). But I haven't done it (not willing to get back to stock). For me alpharevx s-off and cm7 are more than enough. And you can also remove nb0 file from rom.zip and use the rom.zip with pc49img process to get back to stock things except hboot.

You need to really have clarification before doing this. Better contact the team again.
You have got 2 fastboot commands right. I think the 1st command may be specific to hboot 1.01.0001. . This needs to be clear. And also confirm whether it can be flashed on wildfire with previous Arabic based stock rom. I think better to use WWE stock rom to restore stock recovery and os. Then using hboot 1.01.0001.nb0 from wwe ruu.
NOTE : I'm not responsible for any brick of your phone. I just tried to make things clear.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
- No, it is not necessary to remove the HBoot file from an RUU before flashing it. You can normally flash an RUU on your AlphaRev S-OFF'ed Wildfire. It will not touch the HBoot, but, it will remove your Custom Recovery and Custom ROM.
- Yes, AlphaRev will allow you to run with Stock recovery and Stock ROM. This is exactly what happens immediately after you complete running AlphaRev X. Your phone has a new HBoot, but the Recovery and ROM are untouched. (Which is why you have to follow additional procedures to get Custom Recoveries and ROMs)
- The above commands *should* work for you, provided you replace the values with the appropriate one, but, I am not too confident in you doing that because AlphaRev didn't support all versions of HBoot 1.01.0002, and, I think the Arabic official ROM was among them. Which is why I am suggesting you follow the above commands with the WWE 2.22.405.1 HBoot. In any case, after that, you will have a Stock Recovery, ROM, and HBoot, and you can again run the Arabic RUU as normal, and get back your phone in your stock condition, with the Arabic locales, and on version 2.37
Last Question
Thanks everyone for the quick and effective answers, I decided to perform an installation of stock RUU (Recovery and ROM) with AlphaRev X HBOOT 6.01.1022 without needing to overwriting HBOOT version (except if I need to get help from HTC Support - warranty purposes ).
Yes, the first step after setting S-OFF is that I get a stock ROM and recovery before trying to get custom recoveries and ROMs, but what I have used was WWE ROM which was included in the guide
Last question is: After installing stock ROM and Recovery over patched S-OFF HBOOT 6.01.1022, is it possible to overwrite it with stock HBOOT 1.01.0002 in the future using fastboot commands, or it won't go through because stock ROM/recovery are not rooted?
Thank you!
It should go through, because Fastboot is a function enabled by the Bootloader (HBoot). The Recovery / Root has got nothing to do with it.
Nvm...
Presently Fastboot flashing on wildfire is a feature of alpharevx hboot s-off only. It should be there as long as alpharev hboot is there.
it works!!!! my gosh! back to original h boot 1.01 WWE FROYO extracted
Is S-ON comes back? If not, it still will not have warranty.

Well if overwriting hboot with fastboot is possible. then why not overwrite it with
HBoot 0.08.0008 so if you want, one can use Unrevoked to gain s-off in the future no matter what version of Rom you are using. (possible)???
As long as you have alpharevX s-off to start with..
I will try... later

You have to extract the ROM.zip from the RUU's EXE file. Anyway, I have attached it from the WWE 2.22.405.1 RUU. Remember to unzip/rename before use.

[Q] How to unroot htc one v

Hellloo xda...is there anyone who can gimme a proper step to step guide for unrooting my htc one v.
1. Download the HTC Asia India RUU from Football's collection in the development section
2. While that's downloading, relock your bootloader using the command
Code:
fastboot oem lock
3. Open the RUU. Find the temp folder it created and open ROM.zip from inside it with 7Zip. Extract the recover.img and flash it
Code:
fasboot flash recovery recovery.img
4. Run the RUU and your phone's status will be *** RELOCKED *** and unrooted.
So why do you want to unroot?
Whenever I install custom Rom my sd card and WiFi doesn't work...soo I installed custom Rom without having a nandroid.backup.that's y I was asking.neways thanks a lot for replying.this. is my second one v(replacement)
sent from my sexoo one v
My build number is1.56.720.2 and the ruu is 1.58.707.3.what should i do now??
how do i find the temp folder??..
What is the use of other images???in rom folder..does this stock ruu flashing fixes error?
So what exactly are you trying to do now? Before you said unroot the phone, then you said install custom ROM in a later post.
could you also please find a way to help me? my htc one v freeze forever after i turn it on, please help me
Assuming you're on stock rom, have you try factory reset in bootloader ?
Do you know your software version or cid no. ?
He sent a pm telling me that his phone is rooted and he flashed a zip file that supposedly increases the SD card speed, and apparently causes soft bricks too
I think the only thing to do is re-flash the RUU because I don't think he did a backup in CWM Recovery.
Roxas84, please confirm.
I see.. if he can send the file, sometimes do a revert.zip will help. The easiest is reflash the same rom.zip with wipe cache & system. It should correct the error.
Hey dudes,
I was going to start the same thread but since this is open I want to ask you one question:
If I root the phone, flash cwm, and then I want to return to stock (for warranty purposes) how can I 'uninstall' cwm? Because for unroot I know how to do it, but uninstall custom recovery I never done that even on my older phone - Htc hero.
I'm not new to recoveries, custom roms, flashing and all this kind of stuff, but this is a problem that I don't know how to handle it since I didn't needed to uninstall the custom recovery in the past.
TIA!
L.E: To Answer my own question:
D) ROM is stock, bootloader unlocked, CWM recovery and rooted
- download OTA Rootkeeper from Play Store
- run the OTA Rootkeeper and click protect root
- no need to relock bootloader
- boot to bootloader and fastboot flash the stock recovery
- run the OTA update
- Once done, run OTA Rootkeeper and click restore root
Thanks @ckpv5 for these awesome guides
I just summarized this thread in the following tut but with much more detail:
[TUT] Re-flash stock ROM (RUU) after bricking a rooted device (for noobs)
Roxas84, follow this tut if ckpv5's suggestion above doesn't work.
1ceb0x, it will also show how to revert to stock recovery.

if you take a look at the first thread for this update, the ota update, there are details for how to update to this version and still keep bl-nlocked and easily root

try the process in this thread, if you can't get it to work straight away, try using the method i used (thanks to rezo).
1 - install the ruu for 2.14.401.1
(http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?o6ox43q3taa33iu)
1.5 - if you can't do this because you already have the rom from 2.26 (but old radio etc), follow this tutorial so that you can go back to ruu 2.14.401.1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540952&highlight=downgrade
2 - use htcdev process (without ruu step) to unlock bootloader
3 - install cwm recovery by flashing this file (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?1rdxmtpx26201or) via "fastboot flash recovery recovery(custom).img"
4 - put update.zip (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?vycb7415nn9boct) on the root of your sd card and install from cwm recovery.
4.5 - if the update doesn't work (i.e. if you still get "triangle !" logo flash this file (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?bqni648c46r5e44) via cwm and choose the option "supervision", then try the update again.
5 - after installation and first boot (take a while) boot back to cwm and flash this root.zip (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?dumbffr3n8igau4)
you should now have the latest stock rom, latest hboot, latest radio, and be root.
What's different in this new update 2.26. ?
Hi guys
I'm trying to download this new ruu for 2 days now from "filefactory" an still: "no free slots"! Ca anyone help me to download this new ruu from other sites?
Thank's in advance!
my current software version is 2.14.401.2, what is the difference if i update to 2.26.401.3? Does it gives any improvement on the performance or battery life?
Thx...

what is the error code?
things to remember when you flash an ruu :-
you should not have modified system files (except for root)
you should have stock recovery to start with
you may need to create gold card
you should be relocked bootoader
if you are already on a software number which is higher than the ruu you are trying to install, you may need to downgrade first, using the guide posted above.
Is there anyway without S-OFF to update the radio? I would rather not loose any data too. I've manage to update everything but the radio.

if you're s-off already, can't you just flash the radio.img?
don't quote me on that, i'm not s-off myself, so i'm not reallu 'up' on all the thigns you can do and how you do them. but i was under the impression that with s-off you can flash it same as you flash recovery.img or system.img?
Do I need to flash radio? Because my girlfriends WFS has been t-mobile branded so I think I'm not able to flash RUU without gold crad?
Is it possible to flash system.img and boot.img only? Or will there be conflicts with radio/ramdisk etc...
BL is unlocked and device is rooted atm!
I installed this RUU to my Wildfire S by this tutorial
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540952
My phone had unlocked bootloader (via htcdev.com), Root, S-On and my Hboot version was 1.09.0099. When I was trying to install RUU I got ERROR 140(bad hboot version). So I used mentioned tutorial to downgrade hboot and then I install new RUU.
I downloaded RUU 2.26.401.3 from this site because on Football's FileFactory link are allways full slots.

[Q] Is a HBoot really required in my case ?

Hey all!
I have never used any customizations on my hox before and i decided to install a custom rom today.
Did all the required procedure, unlock bootloader, flashed the twrp recovery and now i want to flash the arhd custom rom.
But now I am totally confused about the thing with the cid and hboot version.
On my htc one (m7) I just flashed the boot.img and then installed the arhd zip through my recovery.
But in the "you need" section of the arhd thread it says:

the device's cid is T-MOB101, the hboot version is 1.36.0000 and it is on android 4.1.1 JB with the current 3.14.111.27 firmware.
Can I now go ahead and simply flash the boot.img and the zip that is provided in the arhd thread or do I still need to do any stuff with my hboot ?
Thanks in advance
Nope hboot is fine.......did you made a nandroid backup from your stock rom ??? Do that first if you haven't....and if it still possible !!! Then continue and install all custom roms out here

[Q] Stock on HTC ONE white screen after OTA update.

Hi guys.
Finally today I receive the OTA upgrade to JB. First an smal upgrade was succesfully downloaded and installed, and then the firmware to upgrade the phone to JB (I had 4.03 custom rom).

I had a backup on the SD that let me recover the phone, I try to install the upgrade again, with the same luck. I read a post that said that erasing the SD will resolve the issue, and I have no better idea than do it!!! (yeah... really!!)
I read several post all day on XDA, I try to flash again the boot and ROM with the upgrade that I save on my PC, and with a Backup via
fastboot. But nothing work (I dont know if I did it right). I cant see the SD on fastboot, already try a factory reset, when I go to the recovery option on fastboot the phone just rebooted with no options.

Could you please tell me how to restore it to complete stock with the commands? which files should I use?
Thanks for you help.

I assume that you first installed CWM or TWRP recovery to root your HOX, and if you make backup of your recovery this is CWM or TWRP recovery.img, not stock recovery.img that is came with phone because you reflashed original one with TWRP or CWM and official ROM need official recovery.img. I hope that you make nandroid backup before root with TWRP or CWM because is it "must to do" in every installation guide. If so, when you wanted to update via OTA for official JB you needed to:
1. reverse to stock software (for you, you needed only to unroot or use nandroid backup if you have yours, if not try to find one in xda one x forum matching your current CID and main-version)
2. reverse to stock recovery.img that is matching your CID (exact matching) (you need to find it on xda one x forum section) - i see that you have firmware folder but dont know is it from your backup or from OTA, if it is from OTA than you can use recovery.img from that folder to flash stock recovery.img via fastboot commands (only recovery.img)
3. then you can do official JB update via OTA
And then if you have need to custom ROM you need flash again CWM or TWRP recovery.img
Also you can get full stock with RUU but RUU must fully match your CID and main version, but RUU isn't available for every phone version, and after RUU you can do officall OTA JB update (for RUU you need to lock bootloader)
Information that can help us is yours phone current main version (fastboot getvar version-main)

Thanks for your help! I got the an RUU, after that I sent my backup to SD and now I have 4.0.4.
Now my phone show me a message to install the OTA to 4.1.1, but when I select install the phone make a reboot and show me CWM recovery with the message:
Finding update package...
E:unknown volume for path [INTERNALSDCARDownload/OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_S_BSTR_ESN_3.14.515.36-2.17.515.1....
E:Can't mount INTERNALSDCARD...
Installation aborted.
Why the phone can't mount the SD?
You need a stock recovery. Do :
Fastboot getvar version-main
And post the outcome !
Edit :
4.0.4 software....you need this recovery and then install the ota again

This is the result:
C:\CustomRUU>Fastboot getvar version-main
version-main: 3.14.515.36
So... I just need to install the recovery that you send me, reboot and try to install the OTA?
