[Q] What ROM do you use on your Desire?

Hi everyone,
Any suggestions for ROMs to try out on my Desire?
I've run both cyanogen and MIUI and I like them both... but trying some more out would be fun too.
A link to any suggested ROMs would also be appreciated.

I'm Using Oxygen for a long time now.
even thought it isn't heavily customizeable as the CM7,
it has enough feature as setCPU, power widgets on top...
but! the main feature is speed. it's working extremely smooth, and latest gingerbread.
i love it.

I've used and tried a lot of roms for both AOSP and Sense. I do prefer AOSP. I used to use CM7 but I use MIUI now. Want keen on other AOSP roms.
Punched in..

At the moment I´m testing between Revolution 1.7 and Runny 3.x
Revolution seems stable, but sense 3.5 looks good.

Looks interesting, I'll give it a try. I find MIUI very smooth too, and the battery life is also great.

I dont think you even need to guess what ROM I use

I'm using this sense 3.5 candy.

Stock GB by Neophyte. And I'm through with constant flashing. I had enough of that nice big cup of bugs.

GingerVillain 3.3 (aosp), RT's 3.1 HAVS kernel, Go Launcher Ex.
Smooth, stable, no lags or fc's, good battery life, launcher is highly customizable. Keep trying Sense rom's (3.0 and 3.5) but always come back to this

Cyanogen 7.1 and I love it.

Insertcoin Sense 1.1.3..
...although I'm getting tempted by Sense 3.5 Roms.

I use Redux 2 . Clean, fast, stable.

AOSP ROMs are the best for me (IMHO, sense roms are too overloaded) and there it's currently rootSU's dGB rom which is the best for me. Smooth (smoothest AOSP ever used), clean (uses only 60 MB of /system), stable and very nice battery life with ManU 1.4 (kernel)vipermod (for lowering CPU voltage) and setcpu (for controlling cpu frequencies).
But maybe I will test redux in the near future, because it was my first AOSP rom and I liked it very much. However, dGB hasn't given me any reason to this yet.

I'm using this one as well, currently version 3.6. Fast and stable, only minor bugs, looking forward to 4.0 w/ wifi fixed! Wish it had Google CarMode preinstalled though, can't get it running. And hope the bootlogo gets changed, that jingle is annoying.

I found 2-3 major and some other sense 3.5 ROM-s. As I understand Runny, Revolution and Virtuous are the most famous ones, I wonder which one is faster and provides smoother experience and what actual differences those 3 have.

Recommand u use revolution hd...but it have only system data of 46.7mb only ¦\ and its smooth,trust me..u would love it XD

I think with the right tweeks, Virtuous Affinity is my favorite Sense 3.5 ROM. For the record, I use Supercharger, Swap, SetCPU, Ultrasmooth Rosie, disable 3d widgets, only have 3 homescreen panels, and have CacheMate & Supercharger Engine flush run every 6 hours. I don't get "sleep of death," returning to homescreen is usually very quick, I don't lose or resend texts, and in general everything is very stable. It's not as fast as stock CM7 or anything, but I'm comfortable using it on an everyday basis, which I couldn't say the same for Android Revolution. Having Virtuous tweeks is a big plus

This is a very good review list! I wish it could get sticky'd, I hadn't seen it before you pointed it out in this thread. I agree with most of your reviews

Whats the best sense 3.0 rom?
Here are features id prefer to narrow my options down a bit:
1) that transparent rosie look
2) ultra fast rosie, like in virtuous affinity
3) a few extra tweek options would be nice too
Now dont get me wrong im not picky, these are just things i would like in a rom so if you know any that would be worth a look-see, comment the link or just name it.

there is only one active sense rom thats current and thats our tsm trintiy...virtuous unity is still fine im sure, but its base is much older and it has less options

And Unity runs about as fast as a sedated tortoise.

I personally liked mik runny. But its 3.5 and had some small amounts of lag. And any rom nitsuj puts out is amazing

I also like the transparent rosie. I was on GingerBliss. Even tho it hadn't been updated and now has been retired Still holding on to that backup!! I also like the transparent status bar. much cleaner look IMHO. I don't Like all of the icons up there. Currently on Mikrunny, and yes they are both 3.5's. but they both support wireless charging.

I haven't because I don't like its iPhone style. I prefer my screen panels clean and minimalistic, with only a few widgets.
That's why I want a rom with most used apps shortcuts on lockscreen. I actually like sense 3.0 but I find it unstable on my device, using Runnymede AIO at the moment..

With MildWild CM (maybe all CM based ROMs?) it's possible to change the appearence of your lockscreen in different styles. There's also a "Ring" style. It doesn't look the same, but it works the same i.e. a ring to draw to one of the four random shortcuts.

I'm on stock Hboot and I'd like to keep it that way (don't want to mess up with the phone too much)..
This "ring" style looks interesting, although I prefer Sense's solution, you can see the number of received/unread messages/emails on its respective icons.

It's so easy and safe to change hboot. You have nothing to worry about.

Cant you just use one of those locker app found on google play for this?

I suppose so, it's just that I'm not into tweaking and fiddling it too much, I'm just an user, just want the damn thing to work

the thing is that I'm into changing the rom right now, from Runnymede AIO as my phone keeps freezing on it so I'm looking for "lighter" rom with this specific feature

Cyanogenmod would be your nearest choice. Lightweight and has the function you are looking for. Although the lockscreen aint gonna be looking like Sense as a downside.
If your phone freezes check your SD it might be slow..

I tried Cyanogenmod, but I didn't liked it for some reason.. I guess I've been on Sense too long
I don't think that it's SD issue, it's brand new Sandisk, 8GB, class 6

Basically your looking for a lightweight sense ROM which is very unlikely... Since sense 3.0 ROMs are inherently heavy.

I think either LeeDroid or InsertCoin is a hybrid and has flashable 3.0 lockscreens with icons, weather, etc... I think.
Look for them on Development.

Have a look at alexv as well. But don't use the init2sd version.

Can Senseless ROMs use the Sense Camera, or has the entire Sense framework been ripped out?

Sense apps cannot be used on senseless Rom. Period.

They just remove the Rosie launcher in nonSense rom.
No way to get that camera in to cm10

I'm using this MIUI ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952325 and it has the sense camera...I was using CM10, moved to this and its awesome

Well the Senseless roms are just the normal sense rom with removed launcher, so the framework is still there and you should be able to use the camera.
As for CM and such, it doesn't have the framework, and putting it on there would be copyright infringement, or something of the sort. Atleast thats what i have understood so far.

Try Viper ROM
ViperX 2.7.1 it is a sense rom, with stock kernel is the best. I tried others, but my phone never had that smooth performance and battery live. I've seen many go to CM, MIUI, Jellybeans and come back. Any way, thats my advice.
