Was just curious if a2sd was supported in 6.1 and if so how do you go about configuring it and partitioning your sd card, what settings to use ect? I have a 32gb card in my evo so I have room to spare new to this rom as I was a long time virusrom user and had never given a2sd much thought.
Also is it really needed what's the perks ect. I hate to sound like such a noob but then again that's what I am.

yeah, apps2sd is supported on ALL 2.2 roms. depends on the app though. you will find it in settings<CyanogenMOD settings. and not sure if you need to partition your sd card....honestly the only way you are going to fill your phones memory is if you download over like 300 apps and they all have HUGE cache sizes.
Ok so I now I know how to turn it on any know if I need to set up a partition or not? I know I'll never fill my phone I just like keeping my system clean. Anyone?

OK, all the threads I've found about this are quite old.
I've been pretty good at managing the storage on my Desire, but now I have this warning permanently on and I can't bin any more apps.
When I list them, all the big ones are on SD, so what is munching my space?
I have my mail set to only carry the last 30 days. At this rate I'll be getting my XDA Serra out of the attic...
Browser cache or contracts if you have a lot of them. If not probably data associated with your apps.

Just install S2E from market.
Thanks

And cache cleaner.
Better still, why not root the phone and install a custom rom as suggested. You can then run everything from a larger internal memory space, meaning a faster phone and no low memory warnings!
Root!
Data2Ext, A2SD+, CM7 H-Boot table, etc.
There are plenty solution for low on memory problem, and they are the main reason why I rooted my phone.
I just tried Data 2 Ext and partitioned my SD card as was told by the RCMixHD ROM thread, but after installing that ROM I get a Low On Space warning! Getting really annoyed with the badly tested roms out there. I mean really, so much for using the data2ext script when it doesn't even work!
I'm back to Redux. Only ROM that's actually STABLE. Too bad not having a HTC Sense keyboard on that rom.

It's a company phone so rooting is not an option, but thanks!
Alright, so I finally partitioned my SD card in RA recovery. I allocated 1gb to the ext2 then upgraded 2 to sdext3. Then I flashed the Kingdom ROM, but when I look it says I only have 400mb of memory, aka the internal memory. Why didn't it flash onto my partition, and how do I check where my partition is?
Was wondering the same

Where something is stored and how it is used are two different things. Depending on your setup, ext3 will be where your 3rd party apps are stored, however, when an app is running, your device's internal memory is used. Is your device running fast and smoothly?

Ah so if I have 100mb left that's normal? And would you happen to know how I can check my partition through my computer? I know it's partitioned because my normal storage is now only 6.5 gigs.

That will depend on his many apps you've installed and how many are stored internally. As for checking your partitions, you should be able to do it via gparted if you have a Linux system & disk utility via a Mac, but it's been a long time since I've used a Windows PC so I'm not certain. I'm sure their are 3rd party apps available. Have you seen or tried the link2SD app? Check it out here: https://market.android.com/search?q=link2sd&so=1&c=apps

Ah the link2sd app works great! Thanks doug
My problem is just as the title says. First time this has happened to me, wondering if anyone else is experiencing this as well.
Oh btw it is a 2gb one and it says sd-c026 taiwan on the back. Could it be faulty? But i can transfer regular files to and from it.
Maybe, I had an issue with CWM not recognizing a particular sdcard.
Also I can't move App to sdcard with lupus jb kernal for some reason.

No doubt it's a real hassle when our internal space is small. There really seem to be too many possible causes, sucks. But i'm on the turbo kernel.

Yep, have like 1gb of free space still and yes, am rooted
You could try using link2sd. You can move apps to the SD card with it

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Thanks for all of your responses. The problem has since been solved after I had flashed a new rom. I must say, I was fascinated by the smoothness of gb roms after having chased the latest versions of android for the past idk how long.
Hello.
Im using HTC Desire, i really love the phone, but i have problems with it.
i tried like thousands of roms, gingerbread, jelly bean, ics..
and EVERY rom is so fkn bad at perormance.
even doodle jump have low fps on my Desire.
i have other phone, ZTE Blade, it has 600 mhz processor, same resolution as desire and its playing smooth angry birds, hill climb racing and so on.
even little minigames have low fps.
I clocked my desire, min clock was like 500-700 mhz, max 1100 something.
still bad fps.
600 mhz is 2x faster than my 1ghz?
what the hell?

maybe its sd card problem or what?
i went to recovery, partition sd card, then 1gb, swap memory or whatever it was to 0.
apps open very slowly, and when i download from google play and first time open it, it always crashes.
even simple game (happy jump) opens like 10 sec.

I did something wrong?
I dont really know anything about partitioning
what class is your sdcard? do you use script which transfers data also on sdext? did you try changing sd?

Yes u can download it from the market its the best recovery for the desire, u can use it to partition your SD card, you should make a 1gb ext 4 partition rest fat32, there is a excellent guide on here to show exactly how to do it, read that to make sure you do it properly and make sure you backup all ur data to a computer, just search for the guide

Okay. I flashed ext4.
i partitioned 2gb for apps.
So i flashed rom, went to storage and i saw that internal memory is 148mb.
It shows that my SD Card total space is 6 out of 8.
(i typed this su, a2sd install in terminal)

You won't see your partition but its there doing its job, you can get an app called free space from the market and then you can see your extension

Hmm 2gb ext. Bit much. 1.5gb is usually the most recommended. Anything bigger sometimes can cause issues. If u ask me 1gb is perfect, i mean how many apps u planning on installing? 1000? Haha

Im installing Supernova 2.3 rom atm.
I hope I get better performance now.
1 thing more, what rom do you prefer for games and browsing web?
ICS have really smooth browsing, but browsing with gingerbread is horrible.
Dunno about gaymz
/Okay, i tried to download angry birds space, cool game tho, but it tells me "Sorry, there's not enough space to install this item".
//I think i give up. I have ext4, 1gb (changed from 2).
Still bad fps at games..
Still same problem! Please help!!!
I tried another sd card, still same problem!!!
